Champagne and popcorn time...

Where is the top...?!   Seems we're taking a breather after pipping over .0065, but is there more to come?  Can't stop watching - just watching Polo troll box is delightful.

I guess we are too classy to be posting train pics, or 'boom' gifs?

I'm not sure but I think that train pics and such are not allowed Sad

Top?  We are presently at 0.65% of btc.  Paltry.

Number of Monero I have sold during this rise = 0

Edit:  I did buy a relatively small amount @420

Well now we have hit 0.0075 I wish I could say the same, as I have sold more than I wish I had (with hindsight).

I set up ladders of sells and buys as I have done since it first opened on Polo and I have stuck to prioritising accumulation while passively range trading constantly to average down my price per coin overall.  I wanted to maintain a 0.1% of supply holding, but tonight with it smashing many of my upper rungs so fast, I am below target by an amount I will struggle to claw back.  Of course I can't complain, although I just wish I could get BTC out of Polo quicker than the minimum limits allow.

It's been a fantastic 24 hours for those of us in in for the long term though....

And shame about the trains, we're a stuffy lot sometimes, a little exuberance is occasionally warranted IMHO.

Don't feel bad about that.. I was kinda in your same boat. Close to .1% but sold off a lot today. Made my initial investment back and then some  Grin  Gonna be hard for me as well to get back to that level but it's all good. Will prob just be sitting back now and watching how things unfold, staying away from trading until/unless we go back under .004~.005

Hi Risto Smiley

kõik mu monero-d on kadunud aga maja on korras  Embarrassed

I can't believe you are not holding Monero!  Would have thought your portfolio would have space for a few thousand.

Still at least you have a roof over your head Cheesy

I'd be interested in your thoughts about XAG - it seems to have taken a life of its own recently. How long do you think the recent correction will continue?

Sophism lives in Monero community!

Socrates would be sad  Embarrassed Cry

I am out. Community sucks, with some bright exceptions.

Zcash will teach you a lesson I suppose.

For those interested (and I have many people in my team that like XMR) I still cover this coin because TA is TA.
If I see an opportunity in XMR I will advise everyone to buy.

Currently the guideline is to not touch this unless it gets ridiculously oversold (50-75k) because from TA PoV (performance, relative strength to ETH, LSK etc), liquidity, whale manipulation etc etc SUCKS!

Keep holding your bags as 'investors' lol

quoting this for the lulz

edit: I guess Klee meant 0.005-0.0075 BTC per XMR

LOL nice find. I hope Klee didn't tell his subs not to buy XMR...oh wait, he basically did in his above quoted post.  Cheesy

0.007!

I sold 10% - couldn't help it. Still holding on to 90% for the long term.

Sold 100% at 8 once I saw faggots like you are back.

@Newbies looking to get in , dont buy yet. Let the big boys play chess with each other first and knock a few out for good. You will get you buy zone in a day or two.

You appear very very butthurt. What happened? The giant green XMR didlo candle do something offensive to you?  Cheesy

Would you be comfortable storing 10,000 moeneros (dont have that many, just trying to make a point)?

And how would you break up the moneros? Print out 10 different wallets and split it between them?

https://moneroaddress.org/

I'd say generate your own wallets offline with the official simplewallet client. Keep it in cold storage.

Another gem of investment advice from Klee.

I think its interesting that even in a space like crypto, where the whole point is that you are able to take responsibility for your investments and speculations, there exists a vacuum of insecurity that is filled by self-appointed oracles like Klee.

As a social group, we don't seem to learn; we keep lining the pockets of those willing to provide the security of 'seeing the future'.

I hope he gets a pile of angry 'please explain' emails

And how would you break up the moneros? Print out 10 different wallets and split it between them?

https://moneroaddress.org/

Hello, I host and maintain moneroaddress.org, and the code is from Monero dev moneromooo here: https://github.com/moneromooo-monero/monero-wallet-generator. Core dev Luigi1111 also contributed. I do not know of any hacks, presumably you mean hacks due to some sort of RNG flaw. There is the option to provide your own entropy if you don't want to trust the browser crypto for your random seed.

Beyond that, the code is based off of what MyMonero uses to generate their seeds, and the only hacks I have heard involving MyMonero people who had malware on their computer, stored the seed on their computer, etc. If you aren't certain that your computer is secure, use Tails or a live CD of Ubuntu at least.

If you are careful to use the site offline and verify the GPG signature, yes I would be comfortable storing large amounts on a paper wallet. But don't trust me, best to try it out yourself and make your own educated decision.

Personally I like to generate my cold wallets using simplewallet on an offline computer, then I can write down the seed and store it safely and also keep a few digital copies of the .keys file just in case.

I would probably break up a large amount into multiple wallets as well, that way you don't have to revive your entire balance if you just need to spend a small portion in the future.

Here is a very detailed how-to if you are interested:

What makes this so exciting is the volume. This volume is unheard for a coin with such a marketcap. And especially for XMR.
I was lucky enough to trade at the right time so i sold some almost at the top. Of course looking to rebuy when i see the right moment.

Finally monero starts getting the attention it deserves! I really believe that we havent even seen most of what it can do with its price. As for its tech, i think we are pretty much sure now that it is the real deal since we are finally justified by the recent news. As we all speculated for so much time...

Community grows steadily for the last 9 months and i expect to become way larger. Goals are being completed and good news are coming all the time.

If we manage to help the newcomers with the coin and manage to not have any huge hacks etc i see a bright future. The biggest problem i identify is not the GUI but the fact that we are too dependent on Poloniex. We really need to get listed elsewhere although i assume that this will happen soon.

Most of the fudders here always wanted to manipulate the coin so they can buy lower. But i am laughing to those few that were shitting all over the place just to help their shitcoin. Being here from the first/second day its so damn funny to remember the first months with the bytecoin shills(i am sure the bytecoin people are already on board) and all other coins claiming to be anonymous or that they are also bringing ring signatures only to cease to exist today.

The core team is perfect! No other comment.

If there are ideas for funding projects/coding etc i think devs must step up now.

Yeah i am excited Smiley

Most of the fudders here always wanted to manipulate the coin so they can buy lower. But i am laughing to those few that were shitting all over the place just to help their shitcoin. Being here from the first/second day its so damn funny to remember the first months with the bytecoin shills(i am sure the bytecoin people are already on board) and all other coins claiming to be anonymous or that they are also bringing ring signatures only to cease to exist today.

The core team is perfect! No other comment.

If there are ideas for funding projects/coding etc i think devs must step up now.

Yeah i am excited Smiley

Very true here... I wish we could get some high volume trading over at bitsquare, or maybe have a new version of moneroclub (or other LBC like website for monero) to get less centralized in terms of exchange sites.  Usability is a little weird on bitsquare, but I'm sure it will continue to get better over time and will eventually become easier.

It's exciting to see people finally willing to hear out what the community has been saying for a while about how we have a solution to fix Bitcoins fungibility, scalability, and anonymity issues.

What the heck happened while I was sleeping? The cork is open?
Buy support is still something we need to work with (10 k btc constantly would be awesome).

I think the dump came already. It peaked around 0.009, and now it is -20 % at only 0.007.
There might be some people willing to dump and they can do so. Personally I am not going to do it - the buyers are in pretty safe position thanks to the real world use of Monero. And the darknet market vendors probably will not dump their Moneros since the privacy is something they value the most in currency.
The funny thing about this race is that I do not feel anything - perhaps it is due to too much fantasizing 10 000 + usd/xmr price.

We are living exciting times since we are unknown waters now.

How many coins would a person need in October 2017 to be considered a whale?

What makes this so exciting is the volume. This volume is unheard for a coin with such a marketcap. And especially for XMR.
I was lucky enough to trade at the right time so i sold some almost at the top. Of course looking to rebuy when i see the right moment.

Finally monero starts getting the attention it deserves! I really believe that we havent even seen most of what it can do with its price. As for its tech, i think we are pretty much sure now that it is the real deal since we are finally justified by the recent news. As we all speculated for so much time...

Bitsquare needs market makers and arbitragers and you wont have those without an api. Good news is API in the works I hear.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

100,000 should do the trick.
