Seems like btc newcomers have all started mining Monero... ATH difficulty, 303xxxxx
Price is way to low for the new hashrate... I'm beginning to worry its actually coming from botnets...

I'm beginning to think a lot of the hashrate comes from what I call "benign botnets" or what some have called "evil sysadmins". I know of at least 2 individuals that have popped up on IRC asking for help with setting up such operations. if there are 2 people that find their way to monero irc to look for help because they don't know what to do.... that means there are probably a sizeable amount of sysadmins that do know what they are doing and do not need to show up at monero IRC asking questions and therefore are just happily mining away with otherwise idle computers that are severely understressed with their MS office and Edge workloads.

Also keep in mind that for a while, even at 20 cents / XMR, the hashrate was at 20 Mh/s... so perhaps the recent price spike has brought these players back, whatever they are.

I wonder if some aren't leasing these resources and risk nothing in the process?

Once we're about one week clear post the BTC halving (~July 17th) we'll start to see proper harmonic market intent and a reconstitution of the base.

Buzzword: a word or expression from a particular subject area that has become fashionable by being used a lot, especially on television and in the newspapers.

I'm pretty sure that "proper harmonic market intent" and "reconstitution of the base" doesn't fulfill the above criteria for a buzzword, but you're welcome to provide citations for proving prior popular usage.

As for ambiguity, just because you don't personally understand something (or are not privy to something) doesn't make it universally ambiguous.

There doesn't appear to be any shorts of significance today. Not sure where you're getting that info. You can try and spot shorts here. It seems to me that whoever was behind the ~70k XMR dumped today did so out of their own stash.

But despite 70k dumped the price didn't even flinch. That's pretty amazing

I just don't have luck with this coin, always sell it to early with some lose this time. It was just 10 days ago, take Lisk for it who is actually down now
