If you're on Mac don't worry if it won't open, known 'library load failure' niggle is being fixed soon...

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/9oim67/monero_gui_v01303_not_opening_on_mac_osx_1014/

It's not just 10.14, either...  But they're onto it.

I would unload your bags before you get left holding worthless coins.  It's clear monero is in a downtrend and will ikely crash below $10.

A lot of people are new here, I've seen coins in the past that used to be in the top 10 fall to basically nothing.  I don't think Monero is anywhere close to BTC.  Most experts consider monero to be a shitcoin.  There seems to  be good support around $20 levels at least so it may be awhile before it goes down to single digits.

I still think it can fall another 80%.  I have a few buy orders down in the $30 dollar range myself but I'm only using a small portion of my funds.  The only two coins I trust are bitcoin and ethereum.  Monero is too much of a low cap for me to put a large amount of money into it.  Its a coin you want ot trade quick for profits, he is not fit to hold like bitcoin.

Some amazing thoughts lately here. Someone complain that marketcap is to low but he believes it will be 4 times lower. Other one believes price will be as low as it was when emission was 10 times higher as it is right now.

The only thing that will decrease by 80% will be Monero transaction fees. We are only two days away from 3 cent transactions.

Trolling, especially pro-trolling, is flattery.   At least one of our new friends (assuming they are all different people) has been trying - and failing - to wind up the WO thread, too, so we're in the company of another reasonably decent coin Wink

A whole bunch of trolls turning up to bash the 'insignificant' Monero at once and tell us it's not worth buying as it is going down 90%?  Well - it must be a coincidence, right?   What for?  Maybe the new improved Monero is worrying some people - or more likely they shorted at the wrong time and are under water.

As Hueristic points out, trolls are usually a positive indicator.

Mind you this lot are pretty awful.  Far from plausible, more's the pity.  If they were any good it would be better - I remember when we used to have proper trolls.

What will happen if eth adds anonymity to its blockchain? If it will be any need in XMR or zcash?

You can't add privacy like a feature, it has to be the raison d'être. As we saw from Zcash's experiment with opt in privacy, you end up with a small anonymity set and broken privacy.

They want to add z-snark to eth. And another problem anonymity on low volume coins is not very good, all these transactions can be traced easily. Only eth and BTC have great volume, so IMHO they can succeed.

The assumption that enough people will use it any given moment to prevent timing attacks is chimerical IMO--never mind that taint will happen regardless. Though this does highlight why Monero has no valid competition--it's not like it's hard if you have the resources to develop a privacy coin, but somehow everybody keeps repeating the same dumb mistakes. I don't know if it's greed (wanting to be both a clear and opaque ledger) or ignorance/arogance (not listening to the privacy minded community), but it's laughable how easy the competition makes it for Monero.

Joined January 2017... and only trusting BTC and ETH ... much of a hype boy you are.... actually montero was one of the more stable coins in the past months so "fit to hold" is actually a fit.

I dont belive there is much of a use case for ETH beyond crowdfunding founds for startups. By crowdfunding with ICO those startups avoid some of laws and regulations they should not avoid. Pretty soon that will end.   Monero have clear usecase that will not get depleted.

I used to believe in this coin but I pretty much lost all my faith in it.  I sold my bags because I don't want to keep losing money.  I feel safer with my money in bitcoin because it has a large amount of daily volume.  The low volume of monero is concerning and I really think it will crash a lot more.

I don't think Monero has any real usecase.  All the online shops accept bitcoin and ethereum, they don't take monero  it doesn't look like shitcoins like monero have gained much adoption.

See, now take note you n00b trolls, this is how you do it.

So in answering your question zk-snark is a trusted setup so if you believe in a trusted setup for a privacy coin then your daft and as had been pointed out, opt in privacy is a non functional approach.

But keep trying as you are much better. Wink

Lol volume on exchanges does not equate to transactions on chain but again nice try. Keep going you'll hit something eventually. how about anonymity sets in varying ring sizes? You might get some headway there.

Low volume ATM means no-one is selling and whales are trying to fill their bags cheap, you were a fool to sell. I bet you you can't buy back that cheap.

AFA usecase, well that just shows your a moron.

What happened to the bygone days when trolls were competent, or at least tried hard?
