some struggle with the idea that people involved with the 'satoshi entity' and the creation of bitcoin might be arrogant dickheads with nasty personal habits, and even might have acted dishonestly in many provable ways.

Vitalik and Ver both say if CSW is Satoshi it would not increase their opinion of him, just lower their opinion of satoshi ... the point is it doesn't make any difference to Bitcoin tech, only weak minds care about who does things, strong minds focus on the 'things' themselves.

If a pedo released a cold fusion whitepaper with working prototype only weak minded fools would focus on the character and backstory of the one who released it, who cares about CSW the man, if he tries to destroy privacy coins like XMR, good, if he can monero wasn't good tech.

^ This, Bitcoin & blockchain are all about what provably happened, CSW loves to trigger people, it doesn't alter how much hash he controls, and we'll soon see how much that is.

Anyway, him being Satoshi or not is irrelevant to the fact that he may be the first guy, with his fellow Ayre, to manage take over an important PoW chain. And that alone is worthy of consideration.

POW chain that is owned by Bitman as so many others, one of them is also Monero classic?  Let him have it LOL.
The attack he is planning is reproductible on chains not owned by Bitmain (whatever that means).

I am talking of the "to manage take over an important PoW chain."   that chain is already taken so if it will be taken by another lunatic why should anyone cares. Rich kids have expensive toys.

All such announcements of some attacks are always fake. The announcement is an attack itself. He will repeat it for few months then everyone will forget about it.

This is a ICO style. Pre announcement of an announcement.

You cant use Monero now without bulletproof so all exchanges are forced to use lower fees. But some exchanges still charge higher fees. I might be out of loop but  speculate Bithumb, HitBTC, Huobi have not change fees yet.

Personally I've come to the conclusion (a long time ago) that CSW is an asshole, yes, but he probably really WAS part of "being Satoshi" at the very beginning of all this Great Grand Experiment.

My conclusion is that Dave K was the technical guy who put the pieces together, Hal F was the technical guy who made the early code actually work (and lived nearby to Dorian in the same neighborhood! Coincidence?? Nope) and that Craig was their associate who wasn't "technical" but knew how to talk the talk, and he was good in the marketing stuff and big-picture ideas stuff, such as building the global un-censor-able poker game into early bitcoin client, that helped all of 'em actually get the idea off the ground.

But now Dave and Hal are both dead, and so Craig in his ego in his own mind can think "I am Satoshi" because he's the only piece left.

But it's just a shadow of a piece of the real thing.

And I doubt he has the coins.  Those died with Dave in the locked-up heavily encrypted USB stick on the chain around his neck that he probably was still wearing when he died.

But YES... IF this is wrong and Craig has more power/coin than my conclusion assumes, we'll see what happens after the 15th I suppose.

Crypto is never boring, at least.  LOL

One day? Really?  I was just scolding someone that expect this in long 3 years time. Already next year emission will get extremely low. In 9 moths time daily inflation gets even under Bitcoins one. You can see what halvings does to Bitcoin. Monero will sort of have its 4th halving at end of 2019.

Seriously?  I don't think I could even consider CSW to be a part of 'team Satoshi'.  It's more likely that Amir Taaki = thankful_for_today than CSW = team Satoshi.  But that's just me.

Heh, realistically, announcing that you're ready to drop the price to 1000, while simultaneously being able to convince people that they have the ability to do that is a very obvious trigger to alert the actual liquidity providers to pull their bids. Because hash is expensive and why the hell would you voluntarily pay more by scaring the liquidity off?

This has the effect of causing the temporarily light market to absorb the 'sales' that were going to happen anyways in a dramatic fashion.

The soap opera will continue for some days, while a few more of the weakish hands get shook, allowing these people to get your crypto for cheap.

This is a great thing, because there's still a lot of people around here who have never actually seen a real dollar.

The fact that they had to go as far as looping a few forks into it is just theatrics. Reality is that there won't be an end to the fork opera for some years to come, like when the days of very known people mysteriously disappearing return .. which should still be some years out.

Because you don't settle billion dollar hash wars with financial sabotage. You settle it with literal hits and violence, because it's billions of dollars.

This, on the other hand, is just a bunch of vultures vying for some dry hands still clutching onto that dream.



will be nice to see a few days of volatility - profits have been weak for the last few months

I could not stand this fall and sold all my Monero, it seems to me that I did the right thing because the market is very stormy. I got out of many coins when I fall even lower then I will buy back.
