Well I think Philip has some power he was thinking of renting and some other members so it might be something worth looking into.
The reason people use nice hash is convenience though they have had a somewhat iffy past.

Also the amount of hashpower user farms may have might not be large enough and again there's quite a fair amount available via Nicehash
Yeah, I get the convenience factor. I use to do my home mining to it way back and general GPU's for how easy it was, but after the hack haven't done much except for what was needed to keep my balance active.

When your talking 1+PH for a day or two it makes it a bit easier to work with a large farm or user, still the convenience will be with nicehash but working one-one you cut them out.

I could probably part with a few PH for a week or so if Phillip or anyone else wanted to avoid nicehash.

Lets put it to the group once we have a full list again I would be happy to see community members earning for there hash rate rather than random's on Nicehash so it's a good idea.

Maybe Philip will pipe in with some of his legendary mathematics on rates, since he is the guru at the numbers.

7 places to fill some members are holding off this round as they just had an attempt.

Hello
I am new on this website and in mining Bitcoin.
Can you explain me why our Diffculty is 63.9 (?) and the Network Diff is 13.80 T ?
How to check how close I was to mine bitcoin? I know that i can check this with BestShare and Diff but can someone explain me this on example.
Sorry for my bad English and thank you for your help.
If you have any good advice, I'm open to hear it

The "diff" in Pool Status is just the total number of shares submitted since the last block was found divided by the current difficulty. For example: 8826279053409 ÷ 13798783827516 x 100 = 63.96%

This is just an indicator of how "lucky" or "unlucky" the pool was when a block is found. Find a block before the diff is 100% and you're lucky. Find one once it exceeds 100% and you're unlucky. It's a random statistic that can point towards how close you may be to finding a block, although in my mind it's just another meaningless number.

Your "best share" is what you need to look at to see if you've found a block. If your best share exceeds the network difficulty, you've found a block.

renting 2ph directly from a reliable miner  is  better then nicehash.

We spent about 13-14%  more then the breakeven rates renting from nicehash.

nicehash charges 3% plus a little for each order.  and we paid higher then the standard rate  due to competition for available hash.

translation  current berea even number is 0.01778 per ph per day

we paid  about  0.0201 per ph per day.

so if a farms sells  you under 0.0201 per ph per day

say   0.019 per ph per day   nicehash is cut out

the farm earns more  then standard the renter pays less then  it would pay nicehash.

so right now we have  6 or 7 days before next jump.

if you rent 1 ph for 5 days at 0.019 it is 0.095  per ph for 5 days.

or rent 2 ph for  5 days at  at 0.038 it is 0.190 for 5 days.

better for the farm and for the renter

worse for nicehash.

wait for jump  once 5 day rental is done  figure new rates  do another 5

If I had 4ph or 5ph  mining under my control    I would do it.  At least once or twice.

my total hash is

1200
  200
  570
1970  or 1.97 ph

Oh to bring something up I mine a little at nicehash  not much.

I mine to this address

https://www.blockchain.com/en/btc/address/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

notice the Jan 1 payment to it that was from nicehash.

now go here

https://www.nicehash.com/my/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3/stats

click on history and stats

and the payment for this week is pending  it has been pending for a long time.

https://i.imgur.com/DAVtxqy.png

So My thoughts are nicehash is meh  for reliability.

Top work philip, I  think if we can rent some local power it may be a good idea, limit how much we take from Nicehash.
I can also vouch for MRR have rented and sold mining there in the past was a good experience.

I wonder if we can fill the list before the next diff jump looking between 9-10% at the moment and I do think more gear is still coming online looking at the network hash rate .

I hope we can. The next jump will hurt our odds for sure. I am trying to recruit a few people but we are gambling  Grin

I am in favor of renting hash power from a source other than NH. It would be nice to just have a stable hash rate for however long the rental period may be.

Still a bit low on the list but if your all keen to make a start I'll setup the deposit address and we can make a start on some hashrate before the Diff jump set's in.

So far we have 0.375 BTC pledged for the block hunt.

I think we should try to fill the spots to up our group buying power. Diff increase will suck but our odds are better with more hash power which costs $$$

Is there somewhere else we can post to get more players?

I've reached out to some contacts on telegram who may be interested in this I don't want to make a topic about it would rather keep it in the group we have here it may be the fact some people just did the previous one with no luck and are holding off for the time being.

I now think that gambling that much btc, is not the right thing to do ~ 0.15btc.

This should be a small gamble, but with a chance to win big.

lets say 0.015 btc, is the perfect amount to gamble.
And we can do it once or twice a month.

i did group solo mining a lot in the past, we even found a block.

Put your name down, and lets see if we can get 10 players now, and if we hit a block, each will get ~1.2 btc, and a tip to ck .25 btc

Do not send any coins, lets just see if theres gonna be enough people.

We have a small group on the go right now can we hold off  doing more groups here until the one that has active members from the last hunt is completed?

If you look at the numbers posted by Philip above it makes sense at 0.125 to allow us to actually be compete with a fair size of hashrate and a decent amount of time @ 0.015 X is only 0.15 BTC renting with this amount won't give you long or much of a chance.

Okay 0.015 + 0.125 =

0.140/2 = 0.070

may work

For a lot of people .125 is too much.  I only did it once myself and won't be doing it again anytime soon

there may be a middle ground number  especially  if you can rent from a guy directly.
