i have my fingers crossed. but none of my miners have ever found a block.. i could really use a current gen miner.. haha me too as I am running a load of old S1's that I could do with retiring. Also those renting hash don't forget the upper limit rule: Your 'Workers'->'Shift Graph' must show an average of 300GHs or more - and less than 250THs - on the red average line - for the sum of all your miners.
Good luck to all

I am renting about 100th and my 2 ½ avalon6's are here
philipma1957 71.53THs
this puts me in the middle of the pack
1,167.86THs 740.65THs 705.86THs 545.38THs 528.34THs 512.99THs 461.16THs 429.76THs 421.17THs 395.35THs 386.89THs 373.65THs 361.78THs 344.92THs 322.41THs 321.53THs 278.60THs 254.90THs 250.76THs > all of these may be too high they combine to 8792 th the pool is 18,883
lazy math is 10,000 th is good to go. you can max at say 240 th so with a careful rental you have a 240/10000 or a 2.4% shot with a 240 th rental

NiceHash says 3 confirms before pending Bitcoin becomes available for me to use. How long will that take?

LOOOOL....go ahead, rent all you want, fact is, it really doesn't matter what you calculate your odds to be. Lady Luck hands it out in very strange ways. Sooo, Good Luck to All and all the spent BTC on rentals will surely be accepted with good intent and well wishes. "Comon, Daddy needs a kiss.... ". Just kidding folks. Can't believe we haven't hit yet. CapnBDL

Can't believe we haven't hit yet. CapnBDL Well, at current rental rates one is likely to get the money back anyway. Possibly profit, so it kinda makes sense. I guess this is what I don't understand. You need BTC to rent. If you are limited by the amount of BTC you have, then it limits the amount you can rent. It brings to mind the saying, "You gotta have money to make money." So, what if you are 'old', Daddy's money went to feed you, you spent your money on raising your children, and, low and behold, you go into debt to make sure your kids have the best, & there is none left to play with. How do I rent more hash without the funds? And don't tell me American Express!! Horrible, vicious, cycle, huh? The only ones that made out are the young ones (life noobs) that don't give a crap about expenses to begin with. Life sux!! CapnBDL

Oh...I was a VERY early adopter, just never lucky enough to hit that magic block. Even tho, I have been mining since 2010, I could never hit the one needed to keep me on top. And...at this stage...you only need one to keep you in the top half of the pool. I could be wrong there...but not far off, I think. If it were up to me, and as long as the electric bill got paid, a few $dollars in my pocket would make my day. "Comon, Daddy needs a kiss from....." "And an Avalon too." LOL CapnBDL

Actually my understanding of the contest is it's judged off the average hash rate or the "red line" on the hash rate chart. So someone could in fact use 1000Th for 1/4 of the 5nd time and still qualify for the contest. X

X and do zero for the other 3/4 of 5Nd. or go xtream and 10,000Th for 1/40 of 5Nd, and zero at 39/40th of 5Nd. that might boost up your odds when it matters most. i would avoid trying too hard though, luck might kick you in the rear.
