Can anyone tell me how to find out the hash rate of a miner who found a block using a block explorer? Is this possible?
Not possible, and nothing to do with this pool.

Grats Kilo Looks like you have yourself a pretty little black box that makes dreams of more hash dance in your head
|
Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Pointed my S3+ solo lottery machine here for the Avalon contest, too much fun to pass up on. Good luck. Well that was fast, looks like kilowatt won the month already, congrats! Back to solo mining until March.

Yes our last payout was in the work, so our next block should have confirmed it (when no one else did ) The graph hash rate was 27.02TH so that covers the necessary requirements.

Haven't completely decided yet, but next time it will probably be the best (lowest) CDF for the whole month

Back to solo mining until March. Yeah maybe I should change the rules for the next 3 ... Should make it where they have a monthly average requirement, so people who are dedicated mining at kano.is could qualify, it should help with people not just mining towards the end of the month to ramp up their 5nd to win the Avalon, and then leave else where after someone has won, which is why i think the hash jumped to 20ph. Nothing is wrong with that, just saying make the requirements for those people that are in here for the long haul and supporting kano.is, not just a short burst to win that Avalon and bounce after someone has won and repeat for the next couple of months =)

Nah, I don't think the rash rate is an issue - most of the big miners aren't trying to win an avalon, they are simply doing well from our good luck for the past few months ... and hoping it continues It's more a case of: OK that was quick 6hrs and it's all over Make it more interesting if it lasts longer

Oh and in case anyone didn't realise, bitwitt was the first miner to join the pool, and also won an avalon in the first avalon competition. Let's hope he's no longer grumpy about the pool Well that's funny I got the usernames mixed up ... Though I'm wondering how I could possibly confuse bitwitt with kilowatt ... oh well ... I'll just pretend I'm getting old and senile

It's more a case of: OK that was quick 6hrs and it's all over Make it more interesting if it lasts longer Yeah longer is better as it keeps the fun going. I woke up and saw a block notification and thought "oh that was quick and contest over" although I was hoping it was either myself (unlikely) or one of the big boys just to keep it going a little longer. Guess that was likely to happen as I think that block was over 100% before the contest started. Lowest CDF seems like a good way as this will allow anyone to join the race and take pole position. And congrats to kilowatt

Congratulations kilowatt!!
I woke up to see the block hadn't been found yet and was considering renting some more hash for this. Then the normal morning chaos with kids kept me busy... By the time I was able to warm up some chicken nuggets for breakfast and rent a bit more hashpower the block was was found.
Renting hash for the first time in order to get my average high enough was an easy, painless and perhaps almost pleasant experience. It could be that the rented hash pays for itself in the next few blocks.
I had received some bitfury h-cards and m-boards from a friend recently. The lottery was the perfect incentive to get the stuff up and running to upgrade my modest mining / heating setup. If I don't start mining more than 300 GH/s, my rewards will surely enter the dust category that are waiting to be paid eventually. While not difficult to set up, it's clear that a full set of h-cards will need a bit better power supply than one can salvage from an old PC so it is not up to full capacity yet.
Next, month, I should have no problem beating the average with own hardware.

I think it is very convenient to rent power just to win an Avalon, because in the end, to win you must have at least a avalon 2 ph / s and not even be sure to find a block, for what if you spend on rent, it's quicker to buy new right? correct me if I'm wrong

Yes the odds maybe in your favour so you are more likely but luck can change this. Yes people will rent hash for the contest and hopefully they are doing that part just for fun. However... if they are renting hash rate at a good low price, then if pool luck is good this could actually earn them more BTC from pool payments than they paid for renting. Also nobody can win with more than 250th average as this is the limit set by kano. and the winner of this months Avalon has a total of about ~50th
