You know that I know the feeling...I used the postal service and it took 10 days, not counting customs (another 3). Not bad, though, really. Next time I'll likely spend a few more bucks and do FedEx.

Mother Miner's Freight Service to Goose Bay...

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Just sent them an S9\PSU, interesting how the package tracking shows that it was sent off to Miami of all places before it was sent out on its way to Canada.

Both boards on my newest A6 have burned power sockets. The PSU tests perfect. Well...guess I'll see what warranty is like at Canaan.
 Cry
Wow  Undecided, did you have 16AWG or thicker PCI-E cables?

paralelleminer.com has a 14awg PSU kit with platinum 94% efficiency.  http://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-1200-watt-server-power-supply-he-platinum-high-efficiency-at-94-avalona6-kit/

Also coming up is a direct replacement fan for the A6 by Delta Fan. 1) consume 1/2 the power 2) Are true ball bearing so super quiet 3) better CFM and finally no more reading like 7500rpm. I drop 3 degrees on  my A6 using this replacement.   Will be available by Monday the 10th

Those might have 14 AWG wires, but they only use 4 of the 6 connectors (at least that is what the photos look like).  That makes your PCI-E connectors have to work 50% harder just by using those (as you have 1/3 less connections).  Using all 6 connections is far more important than the size of the wire as the connection is the weakest link in the chain.  How many PCI-E cables have melted anywhere other than the from the connections?  Man, talking about starting a fire just to save a few pennies.

Talk with Finksy, he will get you sorted.

If your worried about roasting your connections, those are about the worst cable you could use (unless someone out there makes say a single 12 AWG wire going to only 2 of the 6 PCI-E hahahha).

Hey,

I'm new to Bitcoin mining and recently joined ck pool.
I have an Avalon USB Miner. I know it's junk, but it was hanging around and could be an opportunity to learn more about mining, so I put it to work.

I left the miner running from monday to friday last week. I believe it's running correctly, as I see outputs like new blocks being detected (or solved) and jobs being accepted.
I have 2 questions:

1- I haven't earned a single satoshi since then. Is that because I have an irrelevant mining power or because payout time has not come yet? I read the payout page but couldn't understand.
2- Miner is sold as 3,6Gh/s but this is what I see in cgminer:
Quote
0: ICA NXP-770x:                         | 1.750G / 562.0Mh/s WU: 5.4/m
If I understand correctly, its average hash rate is 562Mh/s. I know 3,6G is "under ideal (and never met) conditions", but I'm actually getting 1/7 of the hash power. How can I improve that?

This is my address: https://www.kano.is/address.php?a=18H3NGY8mtgHmqwvN9UQhPWy99CcadZBwX

Thanks!

Edit: typo.
666MH/s is currently expected to earn about 60 satoshi a day.
Since we average about 3 blocks a day, that means about 20 satoshi per reward at best.
Since you are mining with such a small hash rate, don't count on getting shares regularly, and your variance will be astronomical.

Rewards under 10,000 satoshi are not sent, but accumulated.
One day in the far distant future you may get your satoshis.

From the 30-Sep to the 9-Oct your total rewards are currently 220 satoshi.
Your 29 block rewards have been anywhere from 1 satoshi to 15 satoshi.

A bit of financial advice Smiley

Spend $10 and buy some bitcoin.
Thus if one day your (current) 220 satoshi is worth something, that $10 you spent will be worth a fortune and you can remember that was my suggestion and be happy about it - no you won't need to send me anything - just be happy Smiley
If instead that (current) 220 satoshi is never worth anything, oh well you only lost $10 at my suggestion, anything else you lost trying to mine with something that you REALLY shouldn't bother mining with, was your choice Smiley

...
Thanks for your answer and your advice Smiley
I have a few bitcoins and I like to buy regularly (and carefully). If those 10 USD you said become a fortune someday, my current amount will make me richer than Warren Buffet  heheh.

That mining will hopefully teach me something and maybe I'll buy a bigger miner someday (doubtful Smiley

Anyway, can I check myself how many satoshis I have?

Thanks.

Looks like the ebay s9 buyers are out of luck. Scammer got $15000 in btc. Used a dormant account with 2300 positive feedback. Two days work.
Appears they did the same thing with exactly the same pics and text a month ago.

S9's up for sale on BITMAIN.
Tried to buy one but it expired. Is there a protocol as to when the btc will be used to buy the s9 ordered?

For those about to block we salute you! AC->BTC

I asked them once, (directly on phone) but got only a rather evasive answer that made no sense (at least in English). Sorry, but I dunno.

I've bought from them a few times, but have not encountered that issue. Despite having an A6 go south, I'm sticking with Avalon.

Not if you mine to an address.
You need a username account for that.

Looks like I'm losing two boards on one of my S9's. &%$$##$^&&**&^%$$###$%$%$#$$%^!

Rebooted a few times. It comes back all o's and after a few minutes, there are x's scattered throughout the two boards. I have just unplugged it for now and will screw with it again tomorrow. Damn it!!!!!!!!!

So my pool hash is going to be down to ~38TH until something changes.  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Heat is not an issue. It's cold here now. Most of my chip temps are in the low to mid 70's. Running from a Bitmain 240v PSU. Arggggggg.

Not any good sig campaigns out there that I want!

Had the same issue with 2 of my s7's.  In one case it was the controller board, in another - a hashboard died all of a sudden. The funny thing was that I took 2 units' controllers and simply changed their places. Worked like charm, still nobody can clearly explain what that was, so I call it magic - no more ooo and in 5 minutes xxxx all over the boards))

In the other case magic didn't work and that was a dead (for no obvious reason) hashing board. Had to replace it, but for me it was easier as I bought it from a local half-legal bitmain's retailer with their own warranty, so there was no need to send it to China.
