I personally don't intend to make excuses.

We are we we are.  The best I can do right now is to take steps to stop anybody updating without knowledge of throne payments and offer a refund to any miners who feel they were misinformed.

At the moment, I believe that the majority if not all groups using the new version were aware.  I don't think it is right or fair to accuse of us of deliberately stealing.

Updates will follow today.

@stonehedge,

Thank you for looking at the problems from a miner/pool ops perspective & finally addressing my/their concerns.

Yes, stealing is a strong word & one I don't like to use any more than you like to hear it - but it is what it is. When something is taken from someone else without their knowledge or consent, it is stealing - weather intentional or not, the word is the same. I think it is also worth mentioning that the amounts taken are not so much the issue, it is the percentage - 40%, which is a large amount, that was the bigger issue.

The rollout of thrones has been pretty shambolic from beginning to this point in time tbh, but I am happy that someone on the crowncoin team has finally decided to address the issues instead of trying to make excuses or posting abusive comments - & for that I commend you. Hopefully others on your team will follow suit.

I look forward to seeing the thread OP, the website & gitrepo updated with clear information about the state of play regarding thrones so that everyone who wishes to get involved will fully understand what software to use & how to use it. When this has been done & I see that any coins requested to be returned are done so, I will consider pointing my hash back at CRW & supporting the network again.

Crowncoin has a $10k marketcap, used to be $2k!
What do you expect, seriously?
There's no premine, no ICO, no bullshit.
We have been 100% open about everything that's going on and the reasons for it (I can cite)

We have 0 dev funds, Our old dev left... And look at us now!

We now have a part time caretaker dev that's very experienced. We have the code for a paid full node network. New members to the team that bring a hell of alot of experience and connections, and your moaning about not having a guide ready, and 40% of coins going to Thrones? Miners can choose to not mine Crowncoin, or stick with the old code, you know?

New miners that are unaware of current development are here for profit. I don't care about those guy's, they will return once crowncoin becomes profitable again, simple as that. They wont feel ROBBED like you suggest lol and we certainly aren't stealing anything! You can set a Throne up right now! Or do you want me to come to your PC and do it for you? Even then i'd mess it up.

Why don't you do a guide on how you set a Throne up? Or shall I give Evan Duffield a call and get him to personally tell you how to set a Throne up? Coz ya no a no him an ezz part of devvy team.

We're barebone here, 3-15k marketcap, no full time dev...

What your asking for is a fully functional dev team with PR skills, github skills, linux skills, C++ skills, HTML skills, contacts, money, time. If we had all of this crowncoin wouldn't be worth 3-15k!

WE DONT HAVE ALL OF THESE THINGS AND HAVE NEVER SAID WE HAVE. (Although with time we are building a great team here and we soon will have all these great skills come together)

Get a grip on what we are capable of.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I'm frustrated that we have made some mistakes.  On balance, its good to find out issues from other people's perspective.

At best, we're learning from mistakes. At worst, we're getting free bumps.

latest changes to git.

This git supports thrones

git clone https://github.com/Crowndev/crowncoin.git -branch Current-dev

Master has been reversed to crowncoin 1.0 with no thrones supported..

Still working on compiling wallet for windows... updates as soon as i can compile it

i will create a branch on Crowndev/crowncoin called Current-dev  branch <-- All development will go there, and only be pushed to master what is supposed to be current running version, so people can check out the latest via Current-dev and everyone else just needs to use master when ive set everything up today.

Is it possible to compile the wallet for Windows using gitian?

i have tried with gitian, with windows and with cross compile via linux, so far im closest to get it working via crosscompile, and also found several errors that made it uncompileable, ill be setting up gitian when i get home, which is mid next week, and getting that to work is the goal, so we can have the wallets automatically compiled everytime changes happens to master.

but while im on the boat ill keep on working with the cross compile... right now its just tweaking the process to get everything to play.. sadly i only have little time each day to do so, therefor progress is slow... i know someone else is also working on it, so that we can get a qt wallet out as fast as possible...

hmm fix will break compatibilty with some mergemining pool software...

but here is the quick fix if your mergeminingpool cannot mergemine with crowncoin, and/or other coins:

in rpcmining.cpp change "_target" to "target" (2 places) - this also goes for other coins, until either pool software is fixed, or a more standard way of mergemining is set in place

hmm interresting... runs fine on my laptop... ill check on another computer

(this has been compiled via gitian in linux)

else i will need debug log from you to see if i can figure something out

edit: runs fine on my wifes computer as well ... i need more peeps to test this wallet so that i can figure out if its a trend on win7/8 or if its something on your computer

edit: try this: http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/12997/assertion-failed-when-i-try-to-open-bitcoin-wallet

else try this: try run with  -par=1  -maxconnections=4 -dbcache=4 (Only at the time of initial synchronization, then you can run without the parameters) and/or increase your pagefile

also try redownload the win64 version again

runs fine on 2 different computers here... one of them being my wifes, which does not have any dev tools or anything out of the ordinary installed

... did you give the wallet the needed access that it needs? try running it with admin rights just to make sure it is not cause by some restrictions
