New approach for me. I sold all my high end cards and just made my remaining 750Ti:s super mobile. Just one powercord and a wifi connection needed right now so i will move them around a bit. It would be great to find a place with free electricity. Anyway, right now this rig bring in around 0.01Btc per day on Quark @ Nicehash. I will just leave it going and stack some ETH up from day to day with the BTC i make on it. that is nice mate ... #crysx I think it is a good way to go. Putting mined BTC in ETH during dips and sell at tops daytrading it a bit making the stack grow. I think this will be a good year for ETH. Thats what i think and hope anyway

Thats what i think and hope anyway Better to mine Etherum directly and dump for BTC. The same rig will do 0.02BTC if you have compute 5.2 cards. (gtx 950,960,970,980,980ti) Ether is currently paying
Ether: 0,294BTC/GHASH (650GHASH network hashrate (191BTC generated to the miners every day) ($72 618)) Quark:0.14BTC/GHASH
gtx 960@ether: 11MHASH (qtminer opencl) gtx 960@quark: 11MHASH (spmod private #5)
gtx 970@ether: 21MHASH(oc) (genoils cudaminer) gtx 970@quark: 20MHASH(oc) (spmod private #5)

I sold all my 970 and 980 cards, i got tired of the power bills and low profits. Right now i am actually thinking this will be the year for ETH and not BTC so i will stick to that plan. Is there any easy way for nvidia (win 8 ) users to mine ETH these days ? I mined ETH earlier on Linux and that sucked :/

Beginner's mistake. The profit is being moved from the small miners to the big miners. There is profit everywhere. You just need to know what to mine..

I sold five high end gpu:s in total and put some of that money in ETH. It is up like four times since then so i guess i am not that stupid. I think a combo of mining smart and daytrading is the way to go if you dont have free electricity and a bunch of optimized miners.

It's now clear that you can't "just mine". You need to have at least two of the following:
- developer skills to make your own optimisations - very cheap or free electricity - time to follow the market closely and choose what to mine - daytrading skills to inflate your profit (but then you could just buy, instead of mine)

My fork can be compiled for linux. Last checkin was 8 days ago, so it's still active. All algos are faster than the other forks as well.. But I do have some private miners that are windows only.. I earn a few bitcoins so I can continue to improve the opensource miner. A win win for the community..
Here is my todo list:
1. Optimize the Ether miner. 2. Refork ccminer 1.7.1 and replace all the kernals with mine. (This will remove the solomining bug and duplicate shares bug.)
Buy my private kernals to support the opensource project..
I have 4 private miners for the people who donate.
1. 0.1BTC: Pentablake +100-120% 2. 0.1BTC: Cryptonight +10% 3. 0.1BTC: Spreadcoin +10-20% (with full sourcecode / linux compatible) 4. 0.1BTC: All nicehash algos optimized. 0-7%
LINUX BINARY-- Please compile a Linux binary, at least for the number 4 Private Miner in your list. I know that it is possible. DJM34 sent a pre-release Linux binary copy of his first NeoScrypt CCminer to me. You don't need to build a new Linux box, just set up a dual-boot system. It takes maybe 16-32 GB at most, a partition or a flash drive. It expands your support base; you will likely see ~0.5 BTC in the short run. I am only able to use the Windows version of your Private Miner on one GTX 960 currently. --scryptr

I've been doing this for one year now and I can say it works at least for me. With 330€ it is much easier to daytrade 0.01 BTC/ day than buy GTX 970 and mine 0.01 BTC/ day with it. Dumped last of my BTC 6 weeks ago and been shorting since. Sold all my 750's and bought higher end cards instead so I am doing something differently though haha! 10 cards brings 15€ profit per day + free heating on top of that.

I think a combo of mining smart and daytrading is the way to go if you dont have free electricity and a bunch of optimized miners. I feel you, the day of high power consumption (when I blow the main brakers, and then the building brakers as well, and almost catch on fire the primary lines coming from the building to my flat hehe, insane!)when I had above 40 degrees C on the appartment all the time. I also sell all of my big ass GPUs (GTX970, R9 280X, 7970, etc) I just kept 1 rig with 5x7950 modded with very low voltage (0.8v) to see if I can squeeze efficiency outta it, and all of the 750Ti I am thinking on start selling the 750Ti and buy GTX960 as they seems to be as efficient as the 750Ti, specially based on the comments of sp_ so I think i will give it a shot and sell 6x750Ti and buy 6xGTX960 see how it goes sp_ you mention that is required compute 5.2 cards to mine eth, so I cannot mine it with the 750Ti'´s?

the 970s can be very efficient if you lower the TDP: for example from 180/200 to 130 the hashrate goes down, in percentage, much less than the power usage.

With the opensourceminer you only get 2-3MHASH with the 750ti with the current dag size.

Uh.... so it doesn't work, well i stick with other algos until I can get 960's then. pallas 970s also work at a very high temperature, i live in a hot area, and 970s here easy reached 75 degrees mining quark, and no matter how many fans I put on them i was not able to lower the temperature I know that if you lower the TDP will produce less heat, but at the time the driver i was using had broken the tdp control, and now I sell them all, I prefer go lower power and use cards that prodces less heat, less probability of VRM failure, and also are easy to sell will check it ETH can be mined with AMD as I have a farm (not mine, i take a cut for maintaining it) full of AMD's (from the litecoin era)

You get around 22 MHASH on the 7950. With 100 cards $266.03 a day. ($8246 a month) (6months= $49 476)
Etherum has been profitable to mine for over 6months..
