As you may have noticed, I've been spending a lot of time diversifying NASTY MINING and finding new donation sources outside of our typical mining operation.  Diversification has taken the form of obtaining assets on BitFunder, participating in group buys, developing new services, and even taking out a loan denominated in BTC.  Finding new donation sources outside our main operation is also important.  That is why I started a fee-free pass-thru on BitFunder and gave my blessing to Carnth to run a pass-thru on BTCT where 1% of all donations received are sent back to NastyFans.  This brings us to my latest fund raising effort.  On July 31st, I paid to have 1,000 NastyFans 1g silver coins made.  For each of these coins sold, BTC0.01 will be donated to NastyFans.  This is also a pilot program for a much larger and more exciting product, which will also have profits donated to NastyFans.  If you would like to help support this fundraiser for NastyFans and pick up some silver in the process, check out my thread in the Goods section:

This is really cool, but I'm wondering why you are being so generous. It looks like nearly all the the profits are being donated. Were some seats sold to organize/pay for this? If so, that's a really interesting diversification and another thing that is unique to the nastyfans group and would justify the extra donations to the fanclub.

No, you would have to own 105 shares to get same dividends as one seat, as 5% are fees (4% management, 1% donation back to nastyfans)

As some of you may have read, BFL has released a new next gen Bitcoin miner.  In the race to always be first to order, I have decided to upgrade our mini-rig order to 5 monarch orders.  That will give us 3TH/s in mining power and only helps our long term goals.  As stated, I already placed the order using my own funds (which will be a BTC25 loan) and I think we should consider upgrading a few of our other recent ASIC orders as well.  Unfortunately, I now have BTC85 loaned out to NASTY MINING of my personal funds, and cannot afford to spend more on upgrades out of my own pocket at this time without jeopardizing other project timelines.  I hesitate to take out another loan, but perhaps that may be best.  I currently don't have the time to discuss all the options this afternoon (it is Saturday and there is football on), but if anyone has any suggestions on the best way to handle these upgrades, please make your opinion known.

I am also aware that I dropped the ball distributing to BitFunder shares yesterday.  My apologies.  I will take care of that now.

Well, I personally would not make any preordes with BFL and would no rust them with my money in advance. But I trust you to make the right decisions, so I pledge BTC25 should NasyMining need another loan.

here might be a bug with the payout scrip. On Nastyfans all BTC from the last distribution are still shown as not distributed and are also added to the no distributed yet amount.

No that this causes a bug next Friday when the script tries to distribute more than it has.

This loan request could be going better...  I really think we should try hard to raise these funds immediately in order to remain in the front of the next upgrade cycle.  If anyone has BTC5 or more that they would like to lend, please contact me.  I would really like to get some of our remaining 4 ASIC orders upgraded today.
