By that logic, you cannot trade any coins on bittrex from now onwards. The best way out is to have a careful track of your coins and pay tax when due. The IRS is going to ask for its pound of flesh eventually. You either have to pay your taxes voluntarily or be ready to renounce your citizenship.

However I think on every trade you also could have capital loss and the capital gains you pay depends on your tax bracket. I was seeing there is no need to pay gains if you are under a certain amount of gains. There is 100k foreign residency deduction (but that might only apply to income) and other things. Regardless of how you cut it, crypto is better than dollars and this is their attempt in fear to control it. They have been making lots of big moves lately and it won't matter. Net neutrality, a horrible real estate tax law, no 1031 on property, immigration restrictions, etc. All it's gonna do is make people leave America.

My friend installed the full client and cannot download full blockchain on Mac notebook. It stops at 60%. He downloaded the blockchain from the site but cannot understand how to use it. Does the blockchain files suit for Mac and where to put it? Can somebody explain or give a link? Thank you!
Or maybe another way: we could not find the option how to use key files in web wallet. Can smb tell?

Blockchain bootstrap doesn't work with Mac, we used to have a pre-synced Mac build in the site directory. If it's stuck at 60% does he have sleep on his Mac where maybe hard disk was turned off or interfered?! Or did he ever force close it or not shut down properly. If so he might need to sync again. The blockchain files are inside the app package in c:\bitbay\bitbaydata

I see you have an enourmous 1 billion coins circulating but what is the max supply i can't find it is it 2 billion or what is it? For POS coins there normally is no max supply. Only a defined rate of growth. For BitBay that is 1% pr year. In reality this means supply is likely to go down because people keep forgetting to make backups or lose their passwords. Biggest loss I know of so far is one holder that lost 18 mil Bay when his HDD crashed. (He did not have backup). So that's almost two years emission compensated with that one crash.

Our main Christmas surprise:https://twitter.com/BitBayofficial/status/945330982999285761Merry Christmas everyone. The team will now mostly take a few days well deserved christmas vacation. This may increase response time a little in the coming days.

Actual capital gains rate depends on the income bracket you fall into. I think most people who invest in crypto will have some tax liability. If you avoid paying a few hundreds of tax liability now, you might get into trouble when your portfolio rises into millions of dollars.

Because their asking price for listing is totally unrealistic.

I attended their conference in Santa clara and it seems their planning a sort of dynamic pegging system as well. According to the roadmap on their site they plan to release their peg on Jan 8th and will peg to USD.

However that seems very unlikely that they would have such a feature completed overnight. I suppose it depends on the technique they wish to use. Not sure why people think that Bitcoin forks are somehow different from an altcoin. In my point of view a Bitcoin fork is an altcoin until it becomes universally accepted as the original Bitcoin. Bitcoin Cash is the only fork that could potentially replace it because it was done due to a very big technical debate that in my opinion hasn't truly ended.

There is a big sell-off now in Bitbay which I think will continue. I dont think Bitbay will ever revolutionize anything. The People behind it has showed for everyone a loss of competense and knowledge. The Christmas "Surprice" has seriously forced me to sit Down and reconsider my possition in here, as it all started to reminds me about a kindergarden. As a investor for the last 18 years I have seen Things in the bitbay community that makes me wonder. Who are the People behind and how realistic are the idea they try to sell; that bitbay will be the New Ebay.com? I dont buy this idea, thats for sure! They dont even own the domene www.bitbay.com to me this is all too obvious: * They will never become a New Ebay * This crypto is just another copy of something, thought they have spent Money to let someone make a wallet and so on. * I think owners of bitbay tokens should be more Critical about whats going on. The Project had a value last week that was 325 million dollar! This is Complete insane. The market value has now seriously start to decline, but who really think bitbay will be a major Company like ebay, Amazon etc? Well, not me for sure. I am done With bitbay, but I wish you all good Luck. I would like to hear some other realistic opinions about this.Thanks.

Oh geez a brand new account coming here and asking for "realistic" opinions after throwing a slew of insults. I have a better idea, how about next year you guys get nothing for Christmas instead of a poker platform that took one of our devs a year to build. Not to mention the worlds most secure poker platform. Bitbay.com isn't selling their domain. We NEVER market ourselves a the new "ebay". First of all we have unbreakable contracts which in of itself is totally world changing. It doesn't just apply to sales but employment outsourcing and barter. Also we are planning the rolling peg which is an entirely different beast. So next you complain that the price was a little bit higher last week? You realize this is crypto right? What is with all these new investors who don't seem to understand that a coin going up or down 50% a day is what investors like to call "just another normal day". Bitcoin is down 40% should investors reconsider their position in Bitcoin too? Okay so look at the chart a year ago we are up 5 times. If you want quick gains I recommend you go to Las Vegas. It sounds more like you wanna gamble instead of invest.
