There is a big sell-off now in Bitbay which I think will continue. I dont think Bitbay will ever revolutionize anything. The People behind it has showed for everyone a loss of competense and knowledge. The Christmas "Surprice" has seriously forced me to sit Down and reconsider my possition in here, as it all started to reminds me about a kindergarden. As a investor for the last 18 years I have seen Things in the bitbay community that makes me wonder. Who are the People behind and how realistic are the idea they try to sell; that bitbay will be the New Ebay.com? I dont buy this idea, thats for sure! They dont even own the domene www.bitbay.com  Huh

to me this is all too obvious:

* They will never become a New Ebay
* This crypto is just another copy of something, thought they have spent Money to let someone make a wallet and so on.
* I think owners of bitbay tokens should be more Critical about whats going on. The Project had a value last week that was 325 million dollar! This is Complete insane.

The market value has now seriously start to decline, but who really think bitbay will be a major Company like ebay, Amazon etc? Well, not me for sure.
I am done With bitbay, but I wish you all good Luck.

I would like to hear some other realistic opinions about this.Thanks.

Here's a 'realistic opinion" for you newbie: Go learn something about the subject, and the project in general before you spout off totally ridiculous accusations and "facts" you made up in your own head. And, I'm sure we are mostly happy you are done with Bitbay since you didn't bother to learn a single thing about it before posting this trash. This project has been around since 2014 and I assure you the market cap is not insane. In fact, it's quite low but, we're working on that.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I wanted to hear from others about their realistic opinions, but I can see that you don’t like sceptical questions. You push away these questions and called it for insults.

There are many questions I would like to discuss, but it must be free from wounded souls and bad feelings.
Do you really know how many poker – and internet casinos there are in the internet? If you think this is a brilliant idea, making another poker casino, all I can tell you that you have no clue about what you are talking about. I dont think you have a strategy, just to hang on some more year and hope you quickly are able to get out `before house of card is falling?

There is over 1 billion tokens but nobody except from those who are behind all this know for sure how many more billions tokens they will create, in the long run. It would be nice to know how you guys distribute new tokens. Do you sell them in pack of 50000 each and put the profit in your own pocket?

I feel pretty sure that the real casino is to own bitbay tokens. The comunications to the community is childish and "see if you are able to find the package... so you can win 5000 tokens. Hurrayy".

You dont have more unbreakable contracts than where you got your blockchain code from or other blockchains. I am just sceptical to what I have seen lately. Who are the team behind this really? A bunch of toddlers, or high skilled professionals? I just lost my faith in the whole consept and I have a strong feeling that a lot of people will lose a lot of money on this. People that have put their money into something like this. I am afraid it will all end up in tears for so many. The team behind this project is from Poland as far as I know. I have to say in general; that the wheel was not invented there and I have seen other failed project from eastern Europe. The typical error is not developed any  businessidea from the beginning. What is the vision, strategy (ahh maybe a little more than a X-mas surprice and a new wallet?). And have you told the "investors" how you are going to get there??

I suspect you are people with some knowledge about how to make cryptos, that is not difficult at all. Something very different is to develop and have a clear vision about the businessidea behind. Where are the money suppose to come from in the future and when? You suppose to start making money from this business in 2018, in 5 yerars, 10, 20 years?

As I said earlier. I would like to discuss this "company" and take a deeper look at its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, a so-called SWOT analysis. But these tools or models may be unknown for you?  I hope to hear from others out there, that can also discuss Things in a Critical way. Remember this. Nothing that can not handle daylight will survive in the long run.

It`s really bad you can not handle critics of any kind. It would be Nice to hear the plan for the near future of bitbay. What is the true business idea? To make a true Marketplace?

"The newbie". I am New in this forum, but i just dont undertand whats wrong With that? Was it wrong to participate into this forum maybe?

Your attitude is what's wrong as well as your somewhat veiled attack and your total lack of protocol. Yes, you are a "newbie" and you will be called one, you have zero credibility here until you earn it. Bitbay has been around a long time prior to you and will be a long time after your gone. Since your basically still attacking, I will put you on my "troll" list.

Someone else may care to engage you but I'm done with you. Bye now...  Oh BTW, I don't speak for BitBay but the other guy who answered you certainly does.

I will admit that the poker site did throw me off.  It's dangerous to build up expectations in today's news driven market and then deliver something completely out from left field.  I was disappointed with the news as I was expecting something else.  I think the market has reacted similarly.

However you are way off base about everything else, and your comments make it seem like you have done little to no research on this coin at all.  This isn't some copy and paste coin with a wallet.  There is no other completely functional decentralized marketplace like bitbay on the market.  This is a nearly completed project in which you can download the client today and buy/sell or create a contract.  What magic coin did they copy this from? It's the only thing I know of in the world that can allow for escrow without a 3rd party.  So you really need to define what you mean by "revolutionary".  Double deposit escrow and rolling peg are both revolutionary concepts that are geared towards solving real problems that exist in decentralized systems.

You seem pretty new to the crypto space so I would advise you to do some research before jumping off the wall and making outlandish claims.

Do you get all your information on Twitter and have you bothered to look at the site or download the software? The poker thing was a side project. I'm the dev I didn't even work on it. I only coached the guy who made it because he already gave us the platform and I explained to him that multisignature with front end security was the way to go for his exchange he was thinking of building so we tested it on the poker platform. If there was a multisignature exchange it would have saved consumers BILLIONS of dollars (Mt. Gox, Mintpal, etc) you are casting it off as a poker site but it's actually a pseudo-trustless exchange/poker site due to the security model. It is extremely valuable code and could currently save exchanges from hacks. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

This coin is about unbreakable contracts which can revolutionize the world as we know it. My software Halo was the worlds first to even have smart contracts years before Ethereum and it is STILL to date, the only peer to peer contracting platform in the world. This software transcends e-bay. It's like e-bay, alibaba, barteronly, localbitcoins, freelancer combined. Because contracts can be made without the problem of deception (double deposit escrow) it can help so many industries. Also the rolling peg like I said is an entirely different beast and it will curb this volatility you see in crypto by freezing and unfreezing coins.

And if that isn't enough this was the worlds first decentralized markets with built in IMAP as well with hundreds of other features.

So what do you refer to by this alleged "house of cards" that I've busted my ass off for 4 years to build? Have you ever built software before and are you aware of how much work it is?

This comment I'm going to highlight because it shows how little you understand about crypto:

There is over 1 billion tokens but nobody except from those who are behind all this know for sure how many more billions tokens they will create, in the long run. It would be nice to know how you guys distribute new tokens. Do you sell them in pack of 50000 each and put the profit in your own pocket?

This might be the dumbest question ever asked on this forum. First of all the coin supply is fixed at a billion. In Bitcoin and ANY altcoin you can't "create" more coins from thin air that is not how it works. Coins work by "proof of work" or "proof of stake" and coins generated through competing for blocks. So stop what you are doing and first go research how Bitcoin works. We don't "distribute" new tokens. If you buy 100,000 tokens and you stake it you get 1-5% per year in interest and thus you get new tokens. That is what secures the network because the people who win new tokens check signatures on transactions.

We don't have "more unbreakable contracts" than what? That wasn't even a sentence. Download the software before you really make a fool of yourself. I'm the ONLY coder of Halo there is no other blockchain that has double deposit escrow AKA unbreakable contracts.

The team behind this is not from Poland. You are confusing us with Bitbay.net. We are http://Bitbay.market.

Who are these "people" or "team" you refer to? I'm the dev of BitHalo(BitHalo.org), BlackHalo and BitBay (bitbay.market). I've been coding for 4 years you maybe have this project confused with something else.

Also we CAN handle critics but we won't deal with FUD, lazy research, insults that are based on lies or false (like that we are from Poland which we are not or that code was taken from other projects which it was not or you just literally making up how you think crypto works to accuse people of pulling coins from thin air).

If you keep saying things like that your comments will simply be deleted for baseless FUD. Responding to you is a waste of my valuable time. We do pride ourselves on good customer service but check what you say before spouting off about things you don't know about.

Actually if you read my response above you will see the "poker" platform was actually a side project by Anoxy which was actually complete when I got it but I asked him to make it multisignature so that exchanges can learn from our example so that users funds are not in jeopardy after a clearing process. It's a great model for an exchange.

To be honest, the Christmas event was simply part of the roadmap and I didn't even write the roadmap. It was cool that they saved it as a surprise. No other coin had anything for their investors on Christmas, personally I think anyone who reacts adversely to a gift is not thinking clearly. We not only gave our users that platform for fun, they also did a giveaway with Steganography which really kept people engaged to our twitter and forums. We didn't get anyone's hopes up so the hype may just be due to investors themselves who blew up our twitter hyping the event. Our core marketing team has been thinking of fun and creative ways to keep users engaged which is a lot better than other coins who pretty much didn't give their users anything for Christmas. What did Litecoin give their users for Christmas? Another Tweet saying "dude Bitcoin gold, Litecoin silver" lol such fundamentals, so fashion.

Any event that is over-hyped can result in an anticlimactic feeling for people when the event ends.  I'm about to finish my next template and that is the development that really matters because it means one step closer to finishing everything on the roadmap.

I think the Bitbay Team did a really good Job with the marketing and the christmas surprise.
I mean what did some guys expect from this?? Surprise, Surprise the rolling peg is ready....something like this maybe  Tongue

The poker site is on the upper span what i would expect from a "christmas surprise".Just a little sweet extra and not a revolutionary feature.
I laugh my ass off when i think of the sad guys, bitterly disappointed because they didn´'t get the christmas surprise they wanted  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

bunch of incorrect nonsense

I would like to hear some other realistic opinions about this.Thanks.

Here's a 'realistic opinion" for you newbie: Go learn something about the subject, and the project in general before you spout off totally ridiculous accusations and "facts" you made up in your own head. And, I'm sure we are mostly happy you are done with Bitbay since you didn't bother to learn a single thing about it before posting this trash. This project has been around since 2014 and I assure you the market cap is not insane. In fact, it's quite low but, we're working on that.

Do you sell them in pack of 50000 each and put the profit in your own pocket?

more madness

Not ONE valid and correct criticism in that entire barrage of nonsense. Possibly the most embarrassing post Ive seen in quite some time.
The only valid thing not essentially a criticism is that bay is built on pos3 not built from the ground up. I am expecting in the future once david has fully analysed dag, hashgraph like systems, dpos, exotic sharding for us to go with what is best or side chains etc. For now POS3 works well.

What you do not understand is that with a project you are investing in the developer that is the driving/creating force and if you can find me 10 better devs on this board in terms of creativity or ingenuity then I will agree bay does not warrant being a top 10 coin. Come back with 10 better devs from 10 different projects and we can work on deciding where bay should place in coin market cap.

The xmas surprise was okay for me and quite useful if you want a SAFE place to play such a game. Obviously i would have liked it more if david has said he coded in some savings bonds like i had mentioned before.

If you bought at 1900 and are annoyed it has sunk to 1300 dont worry about that just keep buying more as it sinks and await the return journey up. Thats how you play the crypto game. Don't worry after another few years you'll get the hang of it.

You shoud be able to run Qt wallet on raspberry pi as it is now. We are currently testing a new Qt build that should make it easier to set up. When that is done we will try to get the client running on raspberry as well. If you are not an experienced linux user, I suggest you wait for the new builds to be released (coming soon). We are also talking to someone that wants to sell rasberry pi's preconfigured for staking Bay.
Detailed instructions on how to set up your raspberry will be written when we are ready to release the new builds.

It's been an amazing year for BitBay! And it wouldn't be possible without your support and trust in the project and team.

Here's our last community update of 2017, including a recap of everything we've done this year. Happy new year to you all!

Happy new year to everyone in the Bay community

2017 has been a great year for BitBay. We had a marketcap of approximately $1 mil at the beginning of the year, and are now at approximately $175 mil. For the investors that is very nice of course. And so it is for the team as well because it shows that all the hard work is now starting to get noticed Smiley
We have had a lot of releases, two automated forks included, a rebranding that has earned us a lot of praise from the community, established our own forum, and community growth that at times has been exponential.

Much has changed during the year, and most noticably the team. At the beginning of the year there were only three very active members of the team; David, Craig, and me. There were a lot more ppl on the team, but most of them only occasionally active or active for only short periods of time. So this is what our team looked like at the beginning of the year:

David -fulltime
Craig, and me - very active
Gjesteele (writer), lowercase (video), Meta (web dev) -some activity or high activity for short periods of time.
3-5 people helping now and then

We seriously started expanding the team this spring, and we are still expanding. This is our team now:

David (lead dev) -fulltime
Me (operations manager) -fulltime
Craig (applications manager) -fulltime
Shorn (project manager) - Halftime, will go fulltime in a few weeks
Giorgos (web dev) half time
Guima (Art director) almost halftime
Luise (designer) part time
Aletha (recruitment ++) part time
Anoxy (dev) part time
Yshurik (dev) part time
Chris (dev) part time
Andree UX/GUI) part time
Security guy that prefers to not draw attention -part time
Bitbayguy (comunity manager, writer, support ++) part time
Mantrack (comunity manager, writer, support ++) part time
Squigg (community manager, support) part time
Elaine (writer) part time
Dw (chinese community manager) part time
Igor (Russian community manager) part time
Seonyong (Korean communinty manager starting now) part time
Alba (spanish community manager) part time
xxotakuxx (team assistant) part time

We also have 5-10 people that are only active when specific tasks need to be solved or very active short periods of time. Amongs them you find video, animation, writer, web dev, etc. There are also a few that are not on this list because their roles are being redefined atm or because they are just starting out. The number of community members that are actively helping out now and then is also increasing. They are not on the list because it's hard to decide where to draw the line in regards to if they should be mentioned or not.
We are still hiring btw. Particularly experienced js and python devs. So if you know any devs looking for work, feel free to send them to me or aletha. Team page on our site will be updateded to reflect the above once we get the time to do it.

Based on first hand knowledge about the team, I think that 2017 was only the appetizer. We now have everything in place to make 2018 a fantastic year for BitBay

So you chose to delete my question, whoever you are. It`s always easy to delete and remove questions that we feel hitts us hard and make us feel fear and upset. For what is really worse that to let the  truth about bitbay be reveled.  Embarrassed

It may seems a little ironic but I want to say thank you for showing me who you really are. I will get rid of the rest of my tokens asap. I have my doubt that bitbay again will be among the 100 biggest Mcap. I focus only on Project that I am convinsed that this Project is not a winner in the long run. So far I have 12 other projcts that I am invested in, and bitbay won`t be among these. So I have 50.000 bitbay tokens for sale. I just hope I am able to get 20 cent for them.

I wish you good Luck guys, but I am done with bitbay!

I wish you a happy New year.

I deleted it, and I will do so again. If you had done your research (as one would expect from someone claiming 18 years investor experience) you would know that BitBay community is full of knowledgable members that have been in crypto for a long time. And although they are always willing to help noobs that come with an honest question, they have no patience with people that are throwing out claims that they would know are false if they had bothered to do just a minimum of research. We have all seen to many kids coming in here pretending they know more than they do. Not to mention fudders. And you have come across as being one of the two. That is the reason for your less than warm welcome here. If you want answers to questions, you can try to ask them without claims that have no fundation in reality. You are likely to get an answer then.  If you keep doing what you have been doing, you will end up on many's ignore list and my delete list. The choice is yours.

I think it's a wise decision to selll your Bay. Life is to short to spend it on being unhappy because of a few coins.

Hi,

An dumb question guys,

How i uninstall in windows 64bits the old bitbay wallet? bitbay-qt

Thank you

I just want to uninstall to install the new wallet.

The old QT wallet is simple the executable. Deleting it will uninstall it. However there are files stored in the folder c:\users\(your user name)\appdata\roaming\bitbay

However just remember in that folder is wallet.dat which contains your account so make sure to back that up or move funds out of that wallet before you intend on deleting that folder.
