Assuming 1$/GH at system level, that would mean that 50PH=50M$. With the current exchange rate and with the current market i simply don't think that will happen.

My group buy offers 0.832$/GH and it's filled just ~27% with just 3 days left. I think this reiterates my above statement.

At the risk of sounding insensitive and short-sighted, we don't need the people to buy the miners.  We just need the builders to buy the chips!  Wink

Companies only buy chips if they think there is gonna be a market for the devices they assemble with the chips. It is better for everyone if everyone in the chain makes money: chip manufacturers, device manufacturers, and the miners that buy the devices. That allows a sustainable business model that will pay over and over again over multiple generations of products.

Oh, I agree completely.  It was a poor attempt at humour.  I'm not very good at it on the internet.

After all the time of uncertainty, this truly is a much needed update. Even though the consumption isn't perfect, it seems that the chip performance overall is competitive and absolutely viable. Also the quantities seem very promising and should yield a reasonable income. I'm a lot less worried/uneasy now, thanks for addressing the questions friedcat, and thanks for relaying them Jutarul!

I believe the questions yielded the answers we needed. If there are uncertainties, please state amendments or critique, I tried to incorporate all the aspects people suggested and no one complained about the final set that has been submitted  Smiley

I would like more information on how franchising benefits the shareholder since we seem to have limited our mining to current space which doesn't appear to be a limfac. I'm not looking for a generalization here. I'm interested in how AM specifically goes about it.

Well franchising generates profits for AM, which are paid out to the shareholders - I believe we agree on that. Basically it shifts the risks and overhead of maintaining a mining operation to those franchisees. Do we know what the (current) terms are approximately?

When is the next financial statement supposed to come in? Do we have any dates? This should be interesting because the first gen 3 dividends are supposed to come in then.

He's running PRE-ORDER group buy Roll Eyes  Wink

It's a pre-order group buy for a company that already have a working product and already delivered units sooner than promised. It's not a regular "new company pre-order scheme". Also i have expressed my views regarding this pre-order in the second post of the Group Buy.

Also we all know that AM likes to sell in stock miners at an overpriced cost. WAY overpriced. From what i remember they used to sell last year miners for more than 30$/GH when the rest of market was around 15$/GH. My Group Buy offers the lowest $/GH for the pre-order miners from a well established and funded company, but also the lowest $/GH for their already launched miner, the SP10 (2.14$/GH lowest price right now on market). Firstly, stop using this thread to plug your group-buy. I sincerely doubt anyone cares.

Secondly, AM is an established company in this industry, trying to compare it to someone on a forums group-buy is insulting.

I was addressing jimmothy's issue when bitcoin.newsfeed jumped in to express his feelings about pre-orders which is now addressed too.

Whole discussion started when i expressed my view on the Jutarul's projected hashrate. My first post was replying to Franktank which was very happy about the hashrate deployment. I haven't started this by directly advertising my GB. I like to participate in discussions (as i did long before the GB) and if i'm organizing a GB i think that i should retain that right too. Also i was giving real life facts as example directly from my GB because it's the most obvious proof that money aren't flowing into mining as they used to last year. Backing statements with proofs and  facts is something that it should be done more often here on the forums don't you think?

Jutural stated he would kindly take our questions to the board. @minerpumpkin Would you be willing gather those questions again? This approach worked the last time. Can't argue with success. Grin

My point exactly. You don't know. I don't know. Yet you are taking fixed price orders for something that may or may not be delivered in August, with a hash rate unknown. No wonder it isn't full. People have become totally fed-up with pre-orders, especially ones so far away, with the hash rate going crazy.

AM well overpriced? In the past, customers chose to pay silly prices for AM products. AM's fault? Not to my mind. AM never lied about the specs of what they were offering. Why blame AM for dumb customers?

The new AM chips are not well overpriced, that is for sure.

Yeah, sure! Do we need further answers already or do we want to wait and see how things play out over the next weeks. I, for one, am rather content right now with the information on AM's current status (a seldom, yet blissful state  Grin)

Concerning the pre-orders: I guess waiting for a product to be delivered in 4 months alienates a lot of people, we all know about the pre-orders last year. Although I don't think there's less money flowing into mining. If it was to decline, the hashrate wouldn't go berserk the way it still does.

Update was very positive in my opinion.
