1041  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have some questions left about this mysterious passphrase on: April 25, 2023, 09:12:23 PM
My first question is: if I have a wallet and I have the possibility to add a passphrase, do I create a new wallet or is it the same wallet with a passphrase added? (I don't know if this is too clear, probably because this step is not too clear in my mind either).

I assume you are talking about BIP39 Passphrase?

The BIP39 passphrase is not mandatory and is completely optional. This means that you can generate a wallet using just a 12/24-word seed phrase, with or without adding an additional passphrase. However, it's important to note that each unique passphrase will result in a new wallet with a different set of private/public keys. For example, if you add a passphrase to an existing wallet, it will no longer be the same wallet, and the addresses in it will be different.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: PUPU TOKEN - Protocol for Universal Payment and Utility. on: April 24, 2023, 12:34:59 AM
Our website, puputoken.com, contains all the information you need to get started with PUPU, including our whitepaper and roadmap.

While we do not have a traditional whitepaper or roadmap, we do have a clear vision for PUPU.

Dude, you are literally contradicting yourself.

And what is your vision, really? Is it more of a throw-it-and-see-what-sticks approach, or do you have a more deliberate plan in mind?
1043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: PUPU TOKEN - Protocol for Universal Payment and Utility. on: April 23, 2023, 07:07:41 PM
First of all, stop bumping your thread with multiple posts in a row, it is against the rules.

Our website, puputoken.com, contains all the information you need to get started with PUPU, including our whitepaper and roadmap. We are also active on social media platforms, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and join our Telegram group to stay up-to-date with the latest developments.

I checked out your website and I must say, I did not find a whitepaper or roadmap anywhere! Are you guys trying to keep the suspense going? Or is it just a covert strategy? I am sure you have some top-secret plans up your sleeves for revolutionizing DeFi with your POOPU (sorry I meant to say pupu) token, right? Grin

All jokes aside, when it comes to investing your hard-earned money, it is always important to do your due diligence. So, until PUPU decides to provide us with a little more information, I think I'll stick to good old advice: only invest in projects with a solid track record and a clear vision for the future.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid cryptocurrency phishing attacks on: April 23, 2023, 03:50:19 PM
OP, thank you for this information about the different methods hackers and scammers use to steal cryptocurrencies. This is something we are facing in the crypto world more and more often, and all crypto users need to be aware of this tactics and be careful when accessing decentralized applications, and check the website URL before taking any action. Revoke.cash seems like a useful tool to disconnect linked sites or apps, and prevent unauthorized access to our wallets. But the most important thing is to be informed and be careful when it comes to our seed phrase, direct transfers, approval, and permit requests. We should never share our seed phrase with anyone, even if it seems like a legitimate request. We should also be cautious when receiving emails or messages asking for direct transfers, and always verify the sender's identity before taking any action.

If something is suspicious or too good to be true, it probably is. This is especially true in the crypto world where scams and frauds are becoming more sophisticated.
1045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Important update on Bitcoin. Why is it falling? Will it go lower? on: April 23, 2023, 03:00:33 PM
But @crypticj, you have been saying the same thing for months, and Bitcoin keeps going up. It appears that your predictions have been consistently wrong, and it is clear that you have no idea what you are talking about. Why repeat the same thing over and over again?
1046  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Projects Visibility (Sig Campaigns) in Bitcointalk. on: April 22, 2023, 11:35:12 PM
Hey rby, thanks a lot for sharing this informative thread! It is great to have all this info in one place, and to be able to check out the budgets for different signature campaigns in the forum. I was wondering though, can you also include the duration of each campaign in the table? I feel like that could impact the visibility of the project as well. Just a suggestion.
1047  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 22, 2023, 11:15:41 PM
Retirement funds are meant to be the sweet reward for all your hard work, not a gamble on risky investments. Sure, Bitcoin might seem like a hot investment, but when it comes to your pension funds, it is better to play it safe. If you are really keen on investing in Bitcoin, just make sure it is with money you can afford to lose.

In the end, the winner is Electrum wallet. I trust not to regret this but will not buy in large scale at first.

Hey, that is great news! I use Electrum, and it is a pretty solid wallet. Glad to hear that you did your research and found a wallet that you feel comfortable with. Just remember to pay close attention to where you download it from (make sure you are on the official website) and if you can, learn how to verify GPG signatures after downloading.
1049  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: April 22, 2023, 08:41:06 PM
One good about aitcoins is if the coin has direction and from the look of thing ETH will hit $10k in no time. This ETH is own by who? Or is the same people that creates bitcoin. ETH will be next king of coins or is there any other coins doing that ETH that I have not heard. If people can turn their assets to ETH investment on a long run ETH will be super great and I think is wisdom to start investing more to ETH too after bitcoin. What do see about ETH!

Someone who has done a lot of plagiarism has opened dozens of threads with absolutely no content but is amazingly successful at avoiding being banned from the forum.
Each new post is a separate brain explosion.
It is not clear why he has been on the forum for so long.

From what I see on bpip.org, it seems that one in every five of his posts is deleted by the moderators. It would be appropriate for the moderators to consider implementing stricter penalties, like a temporary ban or something.
1050  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: April 21, 2023, 11:41:31 PM
Yes I agree.
Five mistakes in a single row is uncommon but before posting I didn't check carefully due to my busiest time (actually I am busy with my Eid festival shopping).
Google Keyboard don't auto correct five casinos name that I provide my local language but other sentences were corrected that I typed.
So you are trying to say that the casino names you typed were in your local language?

Typos happen, even I make them sometimes but mistyping the names of 5 well known casinos in a row was something  Grin  You should probably keep off the forum when you are busy. There's always life outside the forum as well.

I think the post was probably translated using Google Translate from its original language. If you look at the sentence structure, it's not something people would normally say. And since he mentions the Google keyboard, I assume he was using autocorrect set to his native language, hence the misspelled casino names. I do agree though that he should at least double check his post before posting.
1051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me in choosing wallet before I make mistake on: April 21, 2023, 10:07:31 PM
You are a newbie and don't understand anything on wallets,so I would advice you not to go for a hard wallet yet because it is technical and a little mistake can mess things up.
~

I had no idea that being a newbie also means incapable of learning and understanding how to use a hardware wallet.  Smiley

Seriously though, I respectfully disagree. While hardware wallets may require some technical know-how, they also come with clear instructions and tutorials to help even a newbie get started. As long as the user follows the instructions carefully and takes necessary precautions, such as keeping their recovery seed phrase safe, there should be no reason why a newbie cannot use a hardware wallet. Plus, it is always good to learn by doing and gain hands-on experience.

What is the alternative, anyway? A software wallet or a mobile app? Because there's no way a newbie could ever make a mistake or accidentally compromise their security with one of those, right?

If I am unsure then I seek the advice of the forum members to educate me.  In this instance I knew nothing about Bitcoin.org but you guys have educated me and I now know how what red flags to look for.

I must say, I am still a bit skeptical. How could you not know what bitcoin.org is? A simple 5-minute Google search would have sufficed. It is baffling that you would create a topic about it, as if you are probably the first person in the history of this forum to be so clueless. It is basic courtesy to put in some self-initiative and effort before seeking advice from those more experienced. Don't expect others to do all the work for you.

What is Bitcoin.org and what is its purpose?

Based on your previous forum posts, are you intentionally trolling or is it that you lack the necessary intelligence to contribute constructively to this forum? Please clarify which one it is.
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi is eventually ID by the government on: April 19, 2023, 09:44:13 PM
A friend of mine was of the opinion that the government cannot put an end to Bitcoin because it unfortunately cannot be traced to a particular person or organization which could be sued for bringing about the currency or Blockchain.
If this is true does it mean that the identification of Satoshi as a person or organization will pose a treat to the existence of Bitcoin or otherwise

Well, you are mistaken in thinking that governments are actively trying to shut down Bitcoin. In fact, many governments are exploring ways to regulate and incorporate digital currencies and blockchain technology into their existing financial systems. And to be honest, even if they found out who Satoshi really is, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. Why would they even sue him? After all, Bitcoin is simply a software protocol, and there is no evidence to suggest that Satoshi had any malicious intent or acted illegally.
1055  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What kind of Wallets are used by an Exchange? on: April 18, 2023, 02:41:50 PM
I am aware that exchanges use a combination of hot and cold wallet. I am still on the process of learning. Is it possible for someone in this forum make me understand first what is hot & cold wallet and then how it function on an exchange.

In terms of exchanges, a hot wallet is a wallet that is online and is used for storing small amounts of coins that are needed for day-to-day transactions, such as withdrawals and deposits. They are more vulnerable to hacking and exploit attempts, and therefore they are not recommended for storing large amounts. On the other hand, a cold wallet is a cryptocurrency wallet that is not connected to the internet and is used for storing large amounts of coins that are not needed for immediate use. Cold wallets can also have additional protections, such as multisig, so that there are multiple keys needed to access the funds. A hardware wallet is a typical type of cold wallet that stores the user's private keys on a dedicated device, but there are other types as well.
1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is still a digital currency on: April 18, 2023, 02:22:07 PM
It is interesting to see how the usage of Bitcoin has evolved over time. While originally designed as a digital currency and payment system, it has now become a popular investment tool. It is difficult to predict whether Bitcoin will continue to succeed as an investment, but it is important to remember that there are still practical uses for it. There are still merchants and businesses that accept Bitcoin as a form of payment. I do not think that this will change in the near future. And I do not think that it is wise to completely ignore the possibility that Bitcoin could become a widely adopted currency.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A service to find the relation between two addresses on: April 18, 2023, 02:09:40 PM
Hello everyone,

I am looking for a service that can help me map out the relationship between two addresses. Essentially, a tool that can inform me if there is any connection or correlation between the two addresses that I provide. Does anyone know of any services that offer this functionality or something similar?

You can try Blockpath's Graphical Explorer:

https://blockpath.com/

It displays transactions between Bitcoin addresses much like Ethtective.com does for ETH addresses.
Did you mean something like that?

Payment received, I leave the information for the manager and his right to put a negative tag.
Hello, dear lovesmayfamilis
I want to give a little rebuttal to the case that you raised, which was just my attempt to help Dekleni, who at that time did not have his own exchange to cash out his BTC.
~

Can you please provide a more detailed explanation of that part?

You and Dekleni used different addresses for the first time on the forum on the same day in the Seasonal Tokens Bounty Campaign:

Based on the information from the blockchain explorer, it seems that these addresses are not associated with an exchange but rather a privately owned wallet. Moreover, both of these addresses have made transactions to a single address: bc1qtufnf2mxxkp3cak4lhfd2ky5xzw9z9fjs4pmr4, which appears to be a Binance deposit address. So, even if Dekleni did not have access to the exchange to "cash out his BTC", it is still possible for him to have a personal Bitcoin wallet address, right?

Another piece of evidence is that you used Dekleni's address again on the HUNNYPLAY Signature Campaign almost a year later:

1059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to invest in BTC? on: April 16, 2023, 08:12:09 PM
It is true that Bitcoin has been experiencing a bullish trend lately, and it is difficult to predict with certainty where the price will go in the future. That is why it is difficult to time the market and predict when is the "right" time to invest. I would say it is important to have a long-term strategy in place and be prepared to weather the ups and downs of the market.

Of course, there is always some degree of risk involved in investing. But with careful research and a long-term perspective, investing in Bitcoin can be a rewarding and exciting opportunity. It is certainly possible that the price could continue to rise and reach $40k or even higher.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we should play on minor gambling platform? on: April 16, 2023, 01:32:24 PM
Not all minor gambling platforms are necessarily risky or unreliable. Some may be new startups that are working hard to establish themselves in the market. Also, minor gambling platforms may offer unique games and promotions that are not available on larger platforms. They may also have a more niche focus, catering to specific regions or types of players. This can be a draw for players who are looking for something new and different.

But, when it comes to gambling, it is always wise to play it safe - even if that means going with the boring but reliable option rather than the flashy, mysterious newcomer. At least that is what I think.
