1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 27, 2023, 09:19:45 PM
If you are gambling for fun alone and not for profit, then it's possible that you can still have entertainment despite losing some. Although for sure disappointment will be felt along the way. But you can easily shrug it off because you don't mind about it so much unlike other people. It will just be a bonus and a reward if you will win. And of course, the joy will be unmeasurable if you will win in betting. Feeling ecstatic because of winning will hit different. After all, who wouldn't want to win if there's a chance right?

Gambling will be fun and satisfying if you got in because you just want to release your stress and achieve cheap dopamine by just betting and playing, regardless of the outcome.

we can't get rid of the feeling of being disappointments when we lose in something but if we look back, we had fun while doing it, it's just that we really expect something so when the thing we expect doesn't happen, it ends up in sadness, failures and self pity. Gambling is made for entertainment and one way of gaining profits, It has a double purpose to a person and It's up to you what will you prefer to prioritize? Gaining profit or having fun?
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Affiliate Program Problem on: December 27, 2023, 01:20:15 PM
Hi Everyone,  Smiley

I have an online gambling related question. I don't know if this is the right place to post such a question, so I'm sorry if I posted in the incorrect forum.

I'm a Gambling Affiliate and something is bothering for some time. In most of the casino affiliate programs that I registered to, I can make a little amount of money or nothing at all. Did anybody encountered a similar problem?

Thanks,
Idan

Hi, about your problem, could you please elaborate your main problem here? It's that you, having small income amount in your affiliated gambling sites? If that's the case, do you even read the terms and conditions, as well as the percentage of your income per referral? Am i right? you will only earn a big amount if you also have many referrals who are invited but it depends to the negotiated price percentage offer by the casino sites. almost all gambling streamers make money in the same way, aside from the view counts of their videos that's why I understand the reason why they earn a lot..

1044  Economy / Economics / Re: Wealthy people want profit without much of liabilities so you should follow them on: December 27, 2023, 11:59:06 AM
I don't think I need to follow the rich people; maybe the only thing I can adopt from the rich is the positive mindset they have. Maybe that's all.
Although rich people also have a big impact on a business that they enter into, it has an even greater impact on raising an investment that they will make.

For example, once Blackrock is approved in the Bitcoin spot ETF, it is for sure that Blackrock will buy a huge amount of bitcoin, which most crypto communities expect to be more than 100,000 dollars each in the next year, especially during the bull season.

Yeah right, I mean who doesn't want to get rich? We all want to get better but maybe it's true, not everyone will be equal even if they have the same wants in life. Just like your perspective, You don't want to follow them but you want to adopt their positive mindset in life in order to achieve your own goals and wants.
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Sometimes tips the securities at the mall or local shops on: December 27, 2023, 09:57:02 AM
I haven't worked as a security before, but from my observations, I would say the securities are really doing a pretty good job. Securing whatever we go to the mall, we keep an eye on shoplifters to avoid thefts and nuisances. Personally, I am scared of that kind of job because you have to sign an agreement that stipulates that anything could happen while you are on duty, and only your family will be compensated on your behalf if it eventually leads to death. But i see those guys do their jobs with passion and happiness.

When we walk into a mall, I believe they are the first person we see, and i have seen most of them with a lovely smile and welcome message. While you are leaving as well, they say goodbye and thank you for shopping with us. Don't you think they are worth tipping? Sometimes we should tip them and appreciate them for their services because it is not an easy one and their salaries are low as well. Tipping them will help solve some other needs, or if they have a family, it will help provide extra money for the family.

for me, they deserve to be given any tip as a token of appreciation, here in our country, everyone knows how little the salary of security guards is, often they are still under agency which means, there are deductions from their salary and they do not get the full negotiated salary. so if there are people who give them a small amount or a gift, that is a big deal to them and for sure they will appreciate it a lot, especially since we know that they are one of the people who will protect us, their lives are at stake in their work as well as soldiers and police.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: December 27, 2023, 09:15:59 AM
For me I think it depends on individual satisfaction and what you want to achieve. Some people will want to get the fun for a whole day while other will be okay within few hours. I have seen many gamblers spending their entire day at the casino. I have spent more than 6 hours gambling several times and there are days I spend less hours. Most time it depends on moods and available liquidity.

if a person doesn't do much in his daily life, he can spend his whole time in gambling because he doesn't have anything to do unlike other people who has a stable job or managing their businesses and they can only gamble on their rest days or weekends. So it totally depends to a lifestyle of every individual.Just like me, being a full time employee, I need to track my activities and I always have my planner that's why all the things that I will do is well balance, I spend about one to three hours in gambling on my weekends or holidays, I don't exceed in  three hours limit.  actually it's hard to do especially since it's tempting to continue but I have to follow the planner I made.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 27, 2023, 08:15:43 AM
Do we have a way to know that someone at a first glance is mentally unstable? Sure you can judge by how they dress but that's not how most of these dress so it's hard to tell, I am in favor of having them barred from gambling because they're likely to hurt themselves or the others in the case that something isn't going their way which is likely to happen when you're gambling.

I'm in favor too, for the safety of others especially if a person is a legit and clinically diagnosed with mental illness, But if a person is being judged because of physical appearance and there's a proof that this person didn't do anything bad inside the casino/gambling shop then It seems like it would be unfair to them if they were suddenly banned just because of a misjudgment and the way a person dressed. Maybe the best thing to do is to tell and talk to the person about the dress code or the casino themselves should make rules about this matter, not to suddenly ban the person from entering the shop because people think he is mentally unstable even though it has not been proven yet .
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 27, 2023, 07:31:52 AM
Yeah, I think the more time you spend gambling, the bigger the chance you end up in the hole.  To try and prevent that, maybe set an alarm or something so you don't lose track of time.  That way you can stay focused and not make stupid bets just cause you're bored.  Also probably smart to decide how much cash you're willing to part with before you even start and  that way you dont blow more money than you were planning and end up regretting the whole thing.

Definitely true, That's why it's better to set an alloted time and budget for your gambling session, in that way you will be able to control yourself and to prevent ended up having a big problem like addiction and zero bankroll balance. One thing that literally helps me to manage myself in gambling is that, I always prepare a budget and scheduled day and time when to gamble, in that way I still can do a lot of things rather than focusing and giving the majority of my time in gambling. It's quite difficult to manage and get used to that set up but at the end of the day, you will see that it's all worth it.
1049  Economy / Gambling / Re: PvP Games in Casinos | What's your thoughts? on: December 27, 2023, 06:00:36 AM
I think it's hard to do pvp games right, lots of challenges.
Yup, very challenging for me too, but it gives you excitement and thrill that's why I understand why so many gamblers prefer PvP than PVE.
When playing pvp, you will learn and acquire different type of strategies from other people, also you will get to know some hideous technique from them and it will be a big help to you so that you will know what things and move you need to do when doing pvp on the next game round.
1050  Economy / Gambling / Re: What do you want to see in casino reviews? on: December 27, 2023, 04:58:04 AM
On top of the basic customer experience, it would be interesting to see several reviewers around the world teaming up, trying to create different problematic scenarios and see how their customer service deals with different problems that happen problems like Testing how tedious process is getting your account back when you lose your access to 2fa. Or accidentally sending unsupported tokens with layer 2. And if customer service would bother to help to get them back even if that technically wouldn't be their responsibility.

Reason it would make sense to be a team as you would get better sample size then one reviewer making multiple accounts (which is against the rules), or making several problems with one account, which could just flag the person as an annoying problem user and we wouldn't get realistic responses.

Well, that's a good idea, We need to see how customer service resolves several issues and how they can manage to assist the customer with their best service offer. In that way, we can see how transparent they are when it comes in dealing different type of complainants.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Share your Bitcoin spendings here on: December 26, 2023, 01:44:35 PM
Is Bitcoin spending not supposed to be a secret? If you ask me, that is supposed to be confidential information as it can pose threat to some people base on their locality. This is a public space and you don't know who is reading your post, so your spending should be secret and confidential.

Same thoughts, I don't want to disclose my bitcoin spending and earnings and I have my right to do so, just like in our primary job wherein salary and compensations is highly confidential because they want to protect our privacy and life to those people who planned something bad. take note that people tends to become irrational when it comes to money.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I never thought I would say this, but... on: December 26, 2023, 01:29:05 PM
Wikipedia has been one of my most used sites for search and study, due to their reference and other abilities. I find them useful, though I have not found any misinformation from them before. However thanks for the observation, at least I will be judgemental now when using their site even if Majority of my search on crypto related topics are done on other platforms. Anyway there are other good platforms that can provide more accurate details, so all we need to do is to hit the search button and find the best solution to our desires, rather than using some bunch of misinformed site.

Yeah right, same here! wikipedia has been one of my go to sites when I'm studying before because I'm too lazy browsing my books. Just like you, I find it very useful and convenient for me during those days but I realized that sometimes, not everything we read on wikipedia is correct because it is edited by people who have the ability to do so, they can easily change the information and it is even possible to cause any bad things to the readers. Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, content can be changed by anyone for any reason. Therefore, each article will most likely be written by someone who has a passion for the topic and therefore a bias for or against it.
1053  Economy / Economics / Re: How to survive hyperinflation? on: December 26, 2023, 01:14:24 PM
You cannot safeguard yourself from hyperinflation as it is much more severe than normal inflation. Your first priority should be survival. Thinking of investments in that kind of situation is never going to help. For example you are buying something that cost $8 and the next month it cost $10. That is inflation. But in hyperinflation things are not as simple as that. Imagine buying a piece of bread with a cart full of money. And the next month it will cost two carts full of money to buy that same one piece of bread. That is called hyperinflation.
In this kind of situation all you can do is prepare something that you have like a land in which you can grow food in order to survive. Money will have no value if hyperinflation ever hits. All you can do is ensure survival of yourself.

It all make sense, our priority should be survival, so for now It is better to think well on the things that really helps us when hyperinflation hits, As you've said, we need to be always prepared as the worst part of hyperinflation is not about not being able to have cash because of the high cost of any item, the worst part is the hunger, which somehow related to your suggestion of preparing a land that will help people to grow food.

1056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: December 26, 2023, 11:47:52 AM
Gambling is not about funding our casino wallet always, we must developed a means to control our bankroll we will take a check on how we have been gambling from how we loose or win.
This can be done for mature gamblers with a lot of experience in casinos. because usually when gamblers don't have good control, when they enjoy the game too much they forget that they have to stop when they run out of credit in their account. the result is to add more deposits and it will get worse when the ambition is to recover the losses obtained.
If you don't want to continue to be in a bad condition, gamblers must learn from the experiences they have had. Gambling is not just about how much money we deposit to have fun.
Novice gamblers can apply the right methods for them so that they don't experience problems while gambling. Unfortunately, many novice gamblers don't want to learn from many people and only follow their egos in gambling, resulting in them experiencing a lot of losses that they often can't afford to face. That's why we have to really understand that when playing gambling, we don't need to be too persistent in chasing wins or recovering from losses because that will only result in more losses. We should gamble just enough so that we can enjoy gambling as entertainment and can also relieve stress resulting from our daily routine. That way, we only gamble to get entertainment and we can also use other activities to get entertainment too.

But we can't deny the fact that some gamblers are doing this to earn profit, not for just entertainment only, right? Majority of gamblers here in forum has the same thought like mine because I also got to the point where I tried to gamble to earn extra money but somehow I managed to stop myself from leading to gambling addiction. Tbh I've actually gambling for now when I have spare time and I want extra challenging game but still I have and know my limits.
1057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 26, 2023, 11:22:32 AM
Recently I was around a physical bet shop close to my area and I observed a man who was shabbily dressed walking in the gambling house. I got into the place to observe what his intentions were. He walked straight to the gaming attendant, placed his bets in a highly coordinated manner and quietly walked out of the physical gambling house. From the way he was well organized, you will never know that he was mentally unsound apart from his dirty clothes and unkept hair and beard.

When I inquired from the attendant, she said he was a regular customer and that he usually raised money for gambling through the manual jobs he does around the area. She also told me that he has never misbehaved and acted violently in the gambling house so she was comfortable with him.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?

If you see a person who is not well-dressed and looks good, do you need to be judged him quickly as mentally unstable? We have no right to judge a person based on physical appearance. As you heard from the attendant, He's a regular customer and he never shown any behavior as unpleasantly as you think. I think there's nothing wrong for him to go and play in a bet shop, most especially that he never did anything wrong from the start.
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lack of proper knowledge on casino games increases chance of loss and reduce fun on: December 26, 2023, 11:06:56 AM
I usually head on to a casino's demo page on the games they offer before I deposit anything. I'd like to get a 'feel' of the games and whether or not they're up my alley. Oftentimes, I already know how the game works, it's just that I need some confirmation before I do anything. Doesn't really hurt to spend a couple of minutes exploring rather than diving head first with things you don't understand. I think this is a solid advice to a lot of newbie gamblers out there. It doesn't hurt to ask or do a quick search before playing. It helps, and certainly helps a ton in saving a lot of time and money.

Same on what I've always do, I'm used to trying those free spin games first before I cash in money in a casino game, so I'll have an idea of how to play them without losing money. There's nothing wrong in doing the same strategy just like mine because If we have a free trial, why not try it out first? I agree with you, for newbies out there, there's nothing wrong asking questions and doing some research about casino games and strategies because it's for your own good.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In The Span Of six months what will make you trust a new casino on: December 26, 2023, 09:44:42 AM
If a new casino launches an announcement here in Bitcointalk what are the requirements or criteria that will make you trust them?
Within six months after they launched their announcement here

Launching a review and signature campaign?

No complaints or scam accusations?

Very responsive representative here?

Good reviews from casino review sites?

Please vote and tell us why this is your choice all reasons are valid points but if you're going to pick one that will be the best answer what will it be?

all options are valid and needed when it comes to searching new casinos but for me, I prefer the no complaints or scam accusations, because that means they build a good reputation and trust from their users, I know that choosing and trusting new casino will be very risky but again, once a casino build their good reputation, users will be the one who verify this in the long run.
1060  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It is you who can't stop betting. on: December 26, 2023, 09:28:58 AM
Everyone has different abilities in terms of controlling themselves, but I'm sure everyone can recover completely from gambling addiction, but it looks like it's being exaggerated and made very complicated, even though in fact it can be forced to recover, but maybe there are people who does not have the ability to force himself to stop completely, so we cannot generalize to ourselves who might be able to control it.

I also think people should feel confident that they can stop their bad habits by looking at other people, planting words in their minds like "if other people can why can't I", I think by motivating and pressuring yourself anyone can definitely do it. stop gambling and the most important thing is also about how we cultivate a mindset that must be more positive when gambling.  Grin

This is true, each of us has a different ways to control ourself when it comes to gambling, and All I can say is that not everyone has the ability to control themselves, sometimes it's really hard for them especially if no one can help them. That's one of the reason why many people has been tagging as a gambling addict even at the back of their mind, they don't want to become like that, Even though they did everything they could to avoid becoming a gambling addict, they eventually became so.
