1121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 26, 2023, 04:08:52 PM
I'll be going with Poirier for the next headliner. Justin is an incredible fighter, but I find he winds up too much a lot of the time on his shots, and that'll likely play into the hands of Poirier who's a lot more calculated. Obviously, Justin has the durability, and the power to beat anyone so it'll always be a good fight when he's involved. I expect a good fight, and I don't think either fighter will lose by a landslide. Obviously, a knockout is always on the cards, but I think we'll get a well matched fight before that happens, I can't see anyone getting flashed KOed in this fight. Hopefully not, I want to see a war between the two. I like both fighters, so it's going to be hard seeing one of them lose, anyway.

This is not a common fight we see where the others are more way far from their opponent because they are both strong and cannot be beaten easily by just one punch. Surely the fight would be like Islam and Volkanovski, they both fought to the last to assure the win and in the end, it was a close match. This one will most likely be that kind of fight and that will never disappoint us because right now we are not getting as many good fights from UFC as before. Maybe a new rivalry will be born if the fight will not gonna end up in submission or TKO.

Dustin doesn't hurry to make things happen he waits and just throws jabs until he hurts his opponent and then that's the time he unloads the biggest shots for the KO. If Gaethje hurries to hurt him, then Gaethje is risking again. The first fight was one of the fights that is very enjoyable like it's the exchange of both boxers. It's surprising that it took 5 years to arrange a rematch.

About Alex Pereira. I just read it one some comments. Is it really abuse to allow a fighter who had been knocked out terribly to fight again after just 3 months?
1122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 25, 2023, 08:32:53 PM
First of all, who is the one who will give us 5 Bitcoins. if, i convert it into local currency of my country, its value is very much not small. I just want to answer realistically, it's a dream if someone is willing to give 5 bitcoins for free. as I said in another thread, fundamentally, everyone has their own definition of gambling. in fact, they can express according to what they want. let me change your question, if i had 5 bitcoins, would i stop gambling. I will answer it, it seems that for now and at a time that I can't determine, it is very likely that I will still gamble. after all, losing just a few dollars from 5 bitcoins will not make us experience significant losses.

On the other hand, if someone gives me 10 bitcoins. still, it looks like I'll still be gambling. for me this is not about addicts or not, but more on hobbies. it's not how much I want to win, even if I lose. I think the essence can change, that we gamble only for fun and not to get rich in one night from gambling.

If you are not a gambler, the crazy person will not give you 5BTC since you are not part of the circle that e wants to stop gambling.  Grin

But for someone who just gambles and not bother at all if he stops. For me, I could really stop gambling as long as he only tracks that 5BTC in the wallet. I'm not gonna be using that 5BTC to gamble as well if he tracks it. I will keep that BTC for good but I'm using the BTC I already have to bet.
1123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if salaries were paid in BTC on: July 25, 2023, 08:01:26 PM

If the company hiring him is in the crypto space, I think there will be no problem for the company paying in BTC. The employees would be happy to receive BTC. Let's say Crypto Exchange hired him and him working independently online. It will be a problem if the company is not making money in crypto.

The issue is how will the government collect tax from these BTC earners because they will have to convert the coins to fiat before it's possible. The government might not allow this.
1124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: July 25, 2023, 07:09:21 PM

do you think it's possible to beat the house only using math or impossible? I know that by logic it should be impossible because the house always win.... but maybe if you're really lucky it'd be a way to bet with bigger amounts too
You can win from the house, but the reality is that the house will get the biggest win from the other gamblers who lose against the house. We can only win a little from the house, and even though we are lucky, the winnings are still bigger than the houses. But in the long term, I don't know if we can win that often from home, but it still looks difficult for us. So be careful when gambling, and don't use money you can't afford.

yes, and this is part of their marketing and a good strategy, you pay a big prize for a person and use them as example of the possibility of big wins
it's a bit like a big transfer of wealth from the unlucky to the lucky with the house as a middleman

But the probability of a big win is still there why gambling and attract such a large number of gamblers. As I think most gamblers come to the casino for a big win only the first few times, then realizing that to get a big win is not so easy they come for emotions without even realizing it. Approximately the same emotions many feel when receiving a paycheck at the end of the labor month. And these emotions can be experienced even if in an hour you have no money left (for example, you give all the money to the bank).

Unfortunately, the slot is addictive. Whether they realize the probability of winning is so low or not, the idea of winning big keeps them going. I have played the game in both physical casinos and online, but I have not ever won once.

I don't see any strategy I can use in slot tbh. I would rather be playing dice or pattern lottery than slot. Because with these games I felt at least like I am really playing a game where I have a chance.
1125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: July 25, 2023, 06:42:32 PM
-snip-
If Trump was clear about his war plan, his possibilities on the election would not be as favorable for those who are pro-ukraine.
That's true and a lot of news media is saying the same thing as you mentioned this.
But can Trump do it because Russia is the key there and of course Russia could actually be at odds with the US.
After all, so far no one has been able to stop the war unless one party declares to give in, but that's impossible.

I think what Trump will do can also affect his performance during the election and Trump could be harmed by the plans he made.

He claims to have very good plans for many things, social security, public health care, economical ones and a plan to get peace between Russia and Ukraine. He has said those things on interviews in both electoral campaigns, however when the interviewer asks for details about it, he just says he cannot talk about it because doing so would spoil it and his political enemies would make it not to happen.

It is the classical Trump move there, I am curious some many people who support him have not realized how his basic strategies work yet.

A plan to keep the peace is not going to make Trump look good. This war has bipartisan support, he will not be liked by those sitting officials. I think he best keep that plan in silence for now. But he may really be gaining a lot of voters as he appears to be well-liked by his audience from states he visited like Ohio.

Robert Kennedy crazy as it may sound was already silenced in the hearing on censorship by his fellow dem. It's already an uphill battle for him in the presidency while his social media accounts are blocked.
1126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 25, 2023, 06:17:33 PM
One of them is gonna chicken out?
This fight is a done deal. Each of them is going to get a ton of cash no one is going to turn down the money that the Arabs are setting up for them. Only a handful of people expect Ngannou will win and I think he may not really win the fight but Ngannou wins against Dana. This was his real fight in the first place where he was belittled so he took a gamble on his career to which Francis got off UFC contract and got a better contract with PFL.

The main motive for this fight is money. And I think that none of these fighters are afraid of money, so the fight will take place  Grin
As for Ngannou's chances, it's probably a lucky punch in the first or second round - he has no chance to outbox Fury + in each next round he will lose strength faster than Fury. So if he wants to at least try to win, he should immediately go into close range and trade blows (sounds funny for heavyweights hehe). Fury, on the contrary, must hold back the starting onslaught of Ngannou (and preferably without knocking him out so that the sheiks are satisfied with the long fight) and then simply realize his advantage.

Definitely the money. There is no way a WBC/WBO boxing champ will fight someone who is a first-timer. For all, we know it's just Jake Logan who does this but WBC consented to make this happen. The hype is on and everybody can make a huge money as well.

Hard to see if Ngannou will ever land a lucky punch. All we witness from him is a Will Smith slap coming from the ground while Fury had been fighting boxers the likes of Wilder.
One possibility is that, and this may just be a tinfoil assumption, Fury may intentionally not knock out Ngannou for the sake of a rematch.
1127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 25, 2023, 04:07:21 PM
Congratulations to Inoue and to all who bets for a KO Grin. Just like my very first comment to Fulton he doesn't have a chance (if he won't train much harder) since he doesn't have a KO punch. I will congratulate him if he lasts on round 12 for decision regardless if he win or not. But just like i predict it will be a KO for Inoue. Unifying all the belts in Super bantamweight might be next and will be a huge step if he do it right after this fight or maybe a defending title match next.

I thought it will never happen as the fight hit 5th round already. He'd still win if it reaches 12 though. Inoue is just fast even at 122 that he could duck a counter after throwing a body punch. You can see the difference in the speed, it probably is easy for Inoue to KO an opponent if he just has the reach advantage.

Fulton got a taste of a loss. The counter is just too fast that it frightened him to launch a combo to Inoue. 4 divisions already.
1128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Bitcoins to never gamble again. Will you take it? on: July 25, 2023, 03:31:47 PM
But who would give it such an amount and what's it for him? Is he going to track the coins if its spend somewhere? The condition is like taking your freedom to spend the coins the way you want it.

Even if someone really is crazy enough to give 5BTC to someone for him to stop gambling, it might not be enough for him to stop. He may promise not to gamble again but 5BTC is not so much for a gambler who already incorporates the life of a gambler.
1129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: As a gambler do you have a potential winning amount limit? on: July 24, 2023, 09:22:32 PM

No specific amount but of course everyone wants bigger. No limit I guess.
As much as possible I would like to be in sports and choose the winning method because the odds are much more attractive. Or sometimes I bet ahead of time especially when I can see who has the upper hand and in this case 2.65 I think is already a good rate than waiting til there's only a day left. Aiming for the jackpot is much better but it's also just trying to find the needle.

1130  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 24, 2023, 09:06:42 PM
Its just common sense that we wont really be seeing some professional fight or spectacular performance comparing into those actual fights of those real fighters. What we are aiming or interest on this one is that
these fellas are billionaire or famous icon or personality on which it is really just that hard to resist on not to see this fight even if these arent their field but at least seeing them fighting is really that interesting.  Grin

Basing up on the community feedback and interest of this upcoming fight then you could see that it do really get that much attention on which there are even saying that this would really be more than thrice better
that McGregor and Mayweather fight.

Dana White Explains Why Elon Musk vs Mark Zuckerberg Is Better Than Conor McGregor Fighting Floyd Mayweather in ‘Gimmick’ Fight
https://www.insidesport.in/dana-white-explains-why-elon-musk-vs-mark-zuckerberg-is-better-than-conor-mcgregor-fighting-floyd-mayweather-in-gimmick-fight/
Mark Zuckerberg is really transforming like day and night and I would say that his fight will be interesting to see, he will offer us a normal experience but I can't really imagine Elon Musk's fight.
Just look at this video: Elon Musk shows off bizarre dance moves at Tesla event in China. Just look at this video, it will be very funny to see his boxing stance, to see how he will throw his punches. After seeing his dance, I bet his MMA fight will be a hella fun. Dude is just so weird: Elon Musk Dance.

We couldn't really say for sure because even if Mark Zuckerberg looks to be having the upper hand in this fight (considering that the fight will materialize), Elon Musk himself is also having his own preparation as I don't think that he will just let Mark take the spotlight and make him embarrassed in front of the public and scathe his reputation in the process.
Meanwhile, the fight night still have no schedule or some latest news about its whereabouts and so it looks like this will not happen at all because in the first place, there is no hype.
There is a very high chance this fight will never happen, this is all i know and can say, like a user said here last week or so, Elon musk is a great man, and so also is Mark, this two guys command a lot of followership and any wrong decision can destroy any of their reputation.
Though, in the initial stage, the two might have had the idea of coming together in this fight as a way of just having fun, but from the way a lot of people and going and speculating about it, its evident that the fans wont see it as the two just having fun, if this fight happens, who ever loses will face of a lot castigation and humiliations from the fans of the opposing side, this could damage the loser's ego and self esteem, I don't think either mark or Elon will risk this , this is why I personally believe this fight will never happen even though it initially looked like it was going to happen.

Dana would say anything just to make hype and for this one, he really wanted this to happen and will probably schedule the day Francis vs Tyson fight at the exact time as well. We already saw what he did before Tyson-Ngannou was arranged, he tried to snatch the fight from Francis which he set Jon Jones vs Fury.

No wonder UFC fighters are quitting his contract. Once the two, Mark and Elon are done playing around, they will turn their faces against Dana asking him why he really thought they'd fall for it?

1131  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think Bitcoin Market Need Promotes for Price up ? on: July 24, 2023, 08:43:53 PM

Promoting RFK Jr? A president who is a Bitcoiner will really make a difference. Is he using BTC to get votes or sincere which is the question for voters too.

He seems to be representing himself and because of that, I guess he is part of the community. There are some suggestions he made recently about Backing USD with BTC. It may terrify some of the lawmakers but I think Blackrock will still like that.

And also Blackrock is also good to promote since they promote Blackrock. Rumor has it they are buying BTC mining farms.
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Abuse ... on: July 24, 2023, 07:09:36 PM
what do you think about this?
Do you agree that gambling outside what gambling is meant for is abuse on gambling?
I don't get this question but if it's about abusing gambling with that drug, we don't see what actually is happening from those gamblers that do use it. Any potential abuse that can be seen, some gamblers might tempt to do it.

If you agree, what do you think should be done to gambling abusers if there was a way to catch them?
Give them sanction and help, if they've been abusive because of drugs. What all they need is a rehabilitation. But if it's the actual abuse that they're cheating the casino, they might even go behind bars or total ban on that casino.

Should they be arrested and prosecuted same way drug abusers are arrested and prosecuted if caught?
Depends on the local law and business law.

When they abuse, that also means they are already addicted. That itself is already a punishment for the gamblers who couldn't stop despite losing money.  Some of them may even be trying to rob some things from someone in order to keep up their addiction. This is already a struggle.

This doesn't need to be argued though. If they turned gambling into their major source of income, it's their choice and we know how it ends to such stories if they don't quit.
There are many stories of these people only a few have successfully got out of the addiction and gotten back up on their feet to a better life.
1133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 24, 2023, 05:55:13 PM

Why would Naoya do that when their records show who can knock out a cow?
Fulton only has 8 KOs out of 21 fights and 21 KOs out of 24 fights for Inoue. I can understand Fulton is afraid.

Inoue has all the power to KO Fulton, he doesn't need to send fans to disturb him all the time.  That rumor is funny LOL they can sure not allow visitors into their hotel room.  Japanese are the most respectful people in the world.
1134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 24, 2023, 05:24:58 PM

Yes just like you I also want to see him have a rematch against Curtis Blaydes, and to test if his knee's going to break again, (just joking) but there is a lack of showcase with their skills and this is to test his speed against Curtis Blaydes, then a Ciryl Gane to a title match would be a good run for Tom Aspinall for sure,

Ciryl Gane will do that for Curtis. Tybura vs Tom was just too short to find out what that knee had done to Tom but with Gane, this will not be as easy as he thought. Tybura didn't get the chance to test the knees. But of course, Tome hurried to finish before Tybura could even think of it. Easy to KO a fat and old fighter.

UFC 291 Has lots of good fighters. The cards look like a star-studded movie.
Lightweight: Dustin Poirier vs. Justin Gaethje
Light Heavyweight: Jan Błachowicz vs. Alex Pereira
Welterweight: Stephen Thompson vs. Michel Pereira
Lightweight: Tony Ferguson vs. Bobby Green  Can't decide this fight. These 2 probably don't like to be there anymore but are bound.
Welterweight: Michael Chiesa vs. Kevin Holland
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there an good site for Chinese? on: July 24, 2023, 04:45:12 PM
OP does have good English grammar, you can surely navigate your way on English casinos.
There are VPN-friendly bitcoin casinos that you can play around with, you can use the IP from somewhere of course and you get the freedom. BC game and bitcasino afaik are among those casinos.  This is something that's crazy about China, they illegalized gambling but a lot of these Chinese are gamblers themselves. They even have casinos operated by Chinese everywhere but not in their mainland.

1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: July 23, 2023, 06:03:50 PM
We got another tweet from Jake Paul addressing this fight by showing he's training to go 8 rounds.  It feels like after the last disaster of a press conference they really aren't doing much to promote this fight but walk through the motions.  It seems like once this fight fails Jake will try and fight KSI to establish some interest, and there are rumors of him fighting Nate Diaz in the octagon after this boxing match, but we'll see.  I personally think this Paul/Diaz fight is going to do really terrible numbers with the PPV and will probably hurt both fighter's brands.

Still too soon to establish this fight that it will indeed happen in the future and on the designated date because even though they have managed to provide some information and some cards under their bout, I still cannot say that it will really happen knowing that both fighters involved in this match is somewhat unpredictable. Also, I don't think that this fight is actually gaining some interests from the public because their bout is not that noisy.

I think it’ll definitely happen. They’ve both put a lot of time and energy into this already and Jake is even already promoting a rematch in the cage with MMA rules after this. It sounds to me like Jake is pretty confident not only that this fight will happen, but that he will win and they will both make so much money that an MMA meetup will be in the cards for them.

Yes, about that, I don't know what Jake ate that day where he decided to have a rematch in the octagon or what because I surely hope that he knows what he is saying and that he is about to face a menace fighter that was born to make a name in the octagon and most probably, Jake Paul will face the most embarrassing moment in his career.

Also, I read something in an article that this bout (boxing fight) the winner will take it all. I mean, I sure do hope that they included that in their contract and not just to hype the fight just like what Jake Paul did when he was about to fight Tommy Fury where he also said the exact same thing.

He already did used this winner take all gimmick with Tommy, it did work somehow but the deal didn't surface, it was just verbal and they forget about it. If Jake fights Nate in the cage after their boxing match, it will be a perfect deal for UFC fighters such as Nate. This clause should have been done to all his fighters from now on so that all won't just be embarrassing moments for UFC. We'll see how Jake will be in the real brawl fight that is close to a street fight.
1137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 23, 2023, 05:52:46 PM
Betting on an unknown team from an unknown league is the easiest way to lose money. I agree with your opinion because I think betting money on such a team is nothing more than guesswork in the dark. They wished for luck without having a database to analyze, so in the end their victory was purely down to luck.

Sport betting is not all luck so we have to do our homework if we want to win our bets, going to bet on unknown leagues that you have no knowledge on how the teams in the league play is very wrong. Just because betting has a lot to do with luck doesn't mean you shouldn't research.

Bet only on league that you can predict the games because you're always watching the teams play and you know the strength of most of the teams playing and knowif the teams are in form or not because when you don't have this information, you'll be in the dark.

Gamblers lose when they bet on things they don't have any knowledge about. Betting on unknown league in sport betting is similar to a non poker player going to play poker. He's going to lose because his counterparts has more knowledge than him and will use that to win.

Not entirely true. There are sports bettors who are just making money betting on sports based on the odds, they do know not the sport in its entirety but yep it's a gamble but betting on favorites somehow always works. It confuses the decision of the gambler when they know how the athletes are and they get to doubt when there is a possibility of an upset but if he just looks at the money line and bet whichever has the (-) symbol he is already up for good.

1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: July 23, 2023, 04:46:16 PM

Usually, we see gambling addicts as a failure but with a definition of a successful addict, it doesn't sound like a complete failure at all. A gambler who found his craft or someone who has found what he is good at is not a failure. As long as he can make money out of it, I guess he can live off it and be proud of it.

I wonder if there really is a successful gambling addict though because usually, they are not just addicted to gambling but also to alcohol and drugs.

1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers Belief on: July 23, 2023, 03:32:14 PM
Being hopeful is not a bad thing right?
We're all hopeful even the not gamblers. It's just what humans are we are hopeful til we thrive. Tomorrow will be better that is what we always think just as we hope for next year's bull market. And it did happen. 2022 seem to be one of the bearest year but we survived kicking and gambling still. 2023 seems a lot better and gamblers still betting. As long as there is something to hope for like BTC, we remain hopeful.  Grin
By having hope we can be more enthusiastic and have confidence for something better in the future, after all having hope is human nature and cannot be separated from everyone whether in the gambling industry, cryptocurrency or even in social life.
But it needs to be underlined that if you hope too much for something that you feel is impossible, sometimes it will only give you a deep feeling of disappointment, so expect it naturally and don't overdo it because anything can happen, not even according to expectations.

You have to be optimistic once there is nothing else left. Some people put all their hope in one lottery ticket, after learning they didn't win the next day they were alright still. They know it's a long shot. Somehow it's only hope that made some people alive.

Different situations when you won't need to lift your hopes up too much. But gamblers know, that rooting for an upset is a long shot. One go actually bets for the leading team but he gambles and is hopeful.

1140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is Gamble gaining more fans than Bitcoin? on: July 23, 2023, 06:12:39 AM
You don't expect everyone to invest in Bitcoin like gambling. Gambling is very different from Bitcoin investment and many people are still far away from cryptocurrency that is why Bitcoin is gaining adoption gradually and we can not compare it with gambling that had been in existence for a very long time before now.
You are right bitcoin is still early and just little people knows about bitcoin, but even as bitcoin is still early, we can see that the rate at which people are still investing in bitcoin is still kind of encouraging, am sure in the next few years, by then am sure attention will be shifted from gambling to bitcoin, because lots of gamblers don’t really know much about bitcoin yet, whenever most of them discover bitcoin, and they know that they can make money by investing in bitcoin for a long time, or trade bitcoin, and the risk is low compare to gambling, then am sure their attention will be shifting from gambling to bitcoin, but we have to keep on creating more awareness about bitcoin.
Although there are many differences between an investor and a gambler, many still consider it gambling. But it is a business of chance in this business we can only speculate nothing can be done more than that. And you can never beat the market. There are some new traders who consider it a gamble and lose bitcoin investment is good risk less than gambling and holding investment gives good profit. Gambling has nothing like that but losses are high. From Gambling to bitcoin investments there are currently many ways to make money directly using the internet.

Gambling has been around even before BTC. We were already betting fiat long before BTC which would seem normal if there are more people into gambling.

BTC investors may fall into gambling which I guess they discover BTC can be used to bet in the crypto casinos. But most of them discover BTC as an investment asset so if they started gambling only after investing BTC, they are not likely going to end up becoming an addict.
