1161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 10, 2023, 07:10:56 PM

Regarding the hype, well Lebron didn't get his championship too in the first 8 years of his career. He even needs to fly to Miami Heat just to partner with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh to claim that first ring of him.
The future is not written yet, there will be lots of improvements that will happen, and how I wish I could see the San Antonio Spurs being back on the map again as a playoff and championship contender. I bet Coach Pops will smile one more time once that happens.  Wink

We're not discussing whether Wemby will win a championship, as that's too high of an expectation. We're talking about whether Wemby will be able to perform as expected, like a genuine NBA star. I have doubts that he will even win the Rookie of the Year award. No disrespect intended, but I see some weaknesses in him that opposing teams could exploit, limiting his impact. It's important to remember that the summer league is very different from the regular season.
I would agree, we really need to see how this kid will be in this year NBA season. As far as ROY, he will have to fight it out with this years draft class, but the number 2 pick from last year, Chet Holmgren. So it's going to be a tough competition ahead of him.

Of course, we have seen his weaknesses already, his body is not for banging in the whole 82 games. He will have to gain more muscles in his frame so that he will not be pushed by anyone, even smaller guys.

He bounce back though with 27 points with 12 rebounds in his 2nd game.

Agreed he is going to face a brutal season being a big man in the league.  You can make too much from the summer league both good or bad.  Most of those guys in that league won't even be on nba rosters come time for the season.  The kid will take time to bulk up to be able to handle some of the NBA bodies for 80+ games.  Hope the kid doesn't end up injured like most big men early on do.
1162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TrumpCoin - Making Crypto Great Again! on: July 09, 2023, 09:28:37 PM
I saw a tweet recently where Elon Musk make a poll asking the twitter community if they would want to see trump back on twitter. Perhaps if that eventually happens, the first thing Trump will tweet about is this shitcoin so it will pump 2000% and also make American great again.   Grin
Honestly I won't be surprise when suddenly this shitcoin will start pumping, crypto is full of the unexpected.

Why would trump who is trying to get his seat back in the white house finally come back to twitter only to tweet about this altcoin?  These coins and tokens are useless.  They rely on the popularity of something to make it pump.  Literally the definition of a pytlramid scheme.
1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best altcoin to look out for on: July 09, 2023, 09:25:36 PM
The year 2022 ce with a lot of instability in the entire crypto market with some altcoins such as Solana losing their value by almost 70%. Even the worth of BTC and ETH also dropped drastically living many people confused and lost huge funds to this market instability (Bear market as it is called).
As a new trader I would like to know from our experts, the altcoins with good potentials in this 2023.

We are halfway through the year so I might be a little late to the game but I'm still looking for polygon/matic to make some moves once we get back into full bull mode.  I think it would be easier to tell you what not to get into (meme coins) than what to actually buy.  Steer clear of fads.

Lol this is hilarious actually.  I'd definitely watch a bunch of raided out athletes competing against each other.  If everyone is on the same playing field who cares 😅.  Not condoning the actions but I'd definitely be a watcher.
1165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 09, 2023, 09:17:08 PM

[....]
My dark horse for this season would be the Houston Rockets, I think they're looking like the real deal for a team filled with young stars, the addition of Dillion Brooks and Fred VanVleet will surely bring a new chemistry to the franchise, and the likes of Kevin Porter Jr, Jalen Green, Jabari Smith, Alperun and Eason had a good season despite Houston finishing as the 2nd worse team in the league.
An exciting team to watch for sure. I'm looking forward to how they will disrupt the West next season.

Definitely I agree with you. They made good reinforcements for the team. I believe they can do great things next season.
Alpere Şengün is my favorite player in Houston Rockets. Smiley

Team us still too young I think.  They ahoukd definitely get better but they are gonna go through a bunch of growing pains.  Not sure where they rank in terms of league age but they have to be one of the youngest.  Don't think they make they playoffs yet.
1166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which coin Should I mine? on: July 09, 2023, 05:22:39 PM
I'm setting up a new miner,it has 6- Nvidia 3060Ti founders Edition GPU's. I'm waiting for my last GPU to get to my house. After I have all the hardware installed I will need to download the wallet for the coin I'm mining. I want to use my ledger X if thats possible but not sure. once I pick a coin I cn download everything I need to stat mining. I'm not sure what coin I should mine, definitely not Bitcoin but I was thinking about Monero.Monero has a mining pool that is not the regular style minimg pools. I heard Ravencoin ,vertcoin ,bitcoin ,grin ,haven protocol (XHV) , bitcoin gold ,dogecoin ,Zcash ,etc.... Just not sure which one would be the best for ease to mine for a beginner and which coin would be the most profitable? Amy help would be greatly appreciated. if there is another coin that is easy and profitable I am open to any suggestions. Thank you very much!!!

There is never an answer for this question that stays static, everyday it can change.  Some people already posted here but whattomine is a great website to monitor.  If you are in it for straight profitability that's your site, but other people are into a project and just want to accumulate a particular coin, that's fine as well.
1167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 09, 2023, 05:12:02 PM
The hype before the draft and the expectation are the two things the could put him under a lot of pressure for the season, I however don't expect him to fold under the pressure, He only looks fragile because of his height but he's got some weight actually at 95kg, for his stature at age 19, he's still got a whole career of ahead him so, I'm sure he's going to be a good force for the Spurs roster, and once the regular season start, there will be a different approach to how the coach will adjust his duties so as to suit the team needs generally, Wembanyama just need to keep a cool head, not force plays and be a team player first.

Personally, I have mixed impressions of Victor's debut performance. On the one hand, he was really good on defense, grabbing 8 rebounds and making 5 blocks. On the other hand, his offense was awful, and as you said, he looked fragile on the court. I would even say he looked a bit clumsy at some points.
Anyway, it will be interesting to watch him during the regular season as it's still unclear if Victor can become a new Giannis or if he will repeat Oden's fate.

Yeah bigs of his size go one of 2 ways, greatness or just a could have been.  And this is the summer league this is rookies and fringe players just wait until.he has to bang with nba centers for 82 games.  Life as a young big man in the league isn't easy he isn't just gonna come out and dominate.
1168  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoin for bitcoin on: July 08, 2023, 03:45:49 PM
I see in this forum that many disagree with the concept of fiat money. But if we look at the price of bitcoin, most people like it when the price of bitcoin goes up. This means bitcoin is inseparable and independent as a currency without considering fiat dollars. At this point, bitcoin is considered an asset

With so many stablecoins for fiat dollars, bitcoin cannot break away from dollars. Maybe if you want to support bitcoin more and have bitcoin as the main base, is it possible to create a stablecoin for bitcoin?

I haven't seen a stablecoin project for bitcoin yet. Maybe if there was a stablecoin for bitcoin then bitcoin would be considered the main currency in crypto and the price would be considered stable

Suppose there is a stablecoin called Bitcash. Bitcash will always be valued the same as bitcoin.

For example:
Code:
1 Bitcoin = 100.000 Bitcash

Why would you want a stable coin for bitcoin why not just use bitcoin itself lol?  The point of the stable coin is to peg against usd so when you think crypto is going to go down you don't have to trade out of crypto into fiat to keep your portfolio safe in terms of fiat value.  A stablecoin for bitcoin males no sense to me.

^ Not the worst trade I guess. Especially when you consider that getting Dame would probably draw in free agents that are worth more than what Miami would be giving up for him. Concerning news for the league is the rumor that if Dame gets traded anywhere other than Miami that he will refuse to report. His image might be about to take a hit.

That would be crazy, I know holding out is more an nfl thing but I can't remember an nba player being traded and refusing to check in.  Would that team have the right to back out of the trade?  At this point in his career do you really think Dame would do that.  I mean if he gets buried on a presentation losing team I guess it's possible but what if the Bucks swung a trade for Dame.  I mean the chip is there for him to win it a bunch of places.  If he didn't comply yeah his image would definitely take a hit.  Everyone should learn from Leveon Bell better to play then to sit out.  Could ruin your career.

Honestly, other than the Miami Heat, there are lots of teams that are interesting to acquire Dame and they actually got what it takes to get him if they were that serious. But in respect with what the player wanted, they are giving the chance to the Miami Heat because that's what the player wanted and if the Heat cannot give a good package in return, let's just expect that there will be some teams that will have their own offers, like Bucks and Celtics for instance.

I don't really mind what the agent of Dame says, and I will not believe a single thing that the league is afraid of that kind of trouble because with Dame's situation nowadays, it will be hard for him to forget what he started just because of this trade. Sooner or later, he will retire within a decade or less, I don't think he's ready to sacrifice that kind of thing.

Honestly I think the Bucks is the best spot for Dame.  With brook and giannis they got theor 4/5 covered.  I don't know who or what they can offer (seems to me the same that the Heat can offer) then the Bucks would be instant east favorites.  The Bucks are a premiere team, little bad luck with giannis going out early in game 1 of theor playoff series.  If I was Dame that would be the team I'd want.  That inside out game would be insane.  The amount of open 3s he'd see.  And with his range.  Wow that would be a tough team to cover.

Yes, as I said, there are lots of teams that are interested on this trade but it is Dame himself who wanted to be traded in Miami, who knows why but he didn't state any other teams if in case the Miami-Portland negotiation will fail. And if I recall it correctly, the Golden State Warriors was his first option before he expressed that he wanted a trade but everything has changed after the Warriors acquired Chris Paul and I'm as curious as you guys why Dame wanted to be in the Miami Heat if there are other teams in the league that can also give him the same chance.

Probably just personal preference.  It might have something to do with the players on the team, maybe he thinks him and Jimmy would be good together.  Maybe he just wants to live in Miami, its a hot spot to live and be in, in the states.  Also Florida has no state income tax so maybe it has to do with money, who knows

Bitcoin cash is just another useless altcoin.  What bitcoin already solved brash is trying to replicate like the 100s of thousands of other coins, it's useless in its current form because the problem has already been solved.  This thread sounds more like a shilling than anything else.

This year's Wimbledon is quite interesting. I feel sorry for Murray yesterday, he was so close to another big win but still didn't last until the end against Tsitsipas.
The question of all questions at this Wimbledon is, can anyone stop Djokovic from winning another GS?
I'm just watching today's matches and I see that Alcaraz is struggling a lot against Jarry, as well as Medvedev against Fucsovics.
Both will probably win in the end, but I don't think they have a chance against Djokovic.
Someone else? Very difficult. Djokovic is the big favorite in this tournament.

Agreed after watching a decent amount of Wimbledon action I don't know who is going to beat djokovic.  I think the only one at this point will be himself with unforced errors.  The girls side has been underwhelming so far.  Wanted to see coco gauf get deep into this tourny but she bowed out pretty quickly.

This poor kid doesn't even have a chance to breathe.  Look I'm never big on guys over 7 foot and the hype they get because with the way the NBA is its hard for most of those guys bodies to last.  But it's one game in the summer league and he is what all of 18 or 19 years old.  He isn't gonna dominate the NBA this year everyone knows that. Scoot was always a better talent for the NBA today.  In the next 5-10 who knows but his game translates today vs a 7 foor 4 young kid.
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your money in bank? on: July 07, 2023, 09:08:55 PM
In the US yeah at least up to $150k which is ferlderally insured.  If the banks collapse and the US does not back that insurance there are much more problems than you not having your money.  Most likely that money would be worthless anyway if we were in that situation.  Stick all of your wealth in banks nah, but is it "safe"?  Yeah in the short term I can't see that being an issue.
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the USD loose it's kingship? Who will it loose it to? on: July 07, 2023, 09:06:43 PM
I was reading on some of the reasons why the USD is king in the foreign exchange market and some of them are;
It is the most traded currency,
It is the foreign reserve currency of many countries etc...

My question is that with the way many powerful and influential countries are now dumping the USD, will it cause a significant reduced trading volume that will make the dollar no longer to be the most relevant currency in the foreign exchange market?

Probably a topic for another section but I don't see the usd drop or increase making much moves over the next couple of years.  Can it fall out of favor, sure.  But when usd sinks so does the other world economies fiat system.  At a certain point you start to see correlation between all the fiat markets.  Either way I'm unsure from a micro view on things why people care all that much about that dynamic.

All in a bid to ensure I have a concrete investment plan this year, I researched some of the altcoins that has the potential to yield the best return over a duration of 5years. BTC and Eth top my list as one of the more secure coins, but other altcoins have proven to be reliable overtime, if you agree. Despite market volatility and the possibility of a crash, which is your most valid choice right now.

*If I have $40,000 to invest in one #cryptocurrency that will make me a billionaire, Which one do you think would be a better choice, besides BTC and Eth of which I have grown accustomed to?

- $BTC *
- $ETH *
- $ADA
- $VET
- $SOL
- $MATIC
- $SHIB
- $NEAR
- $DOGE
- $DOT
- $LINK

These are some of the best I have seen so far.

*What advice would you give me?

None.  A billionaire?  That's a pipe dream seriously.  This isn't 2010.  Could you make a milli off of that yeah but a billionaire you are looking way to deep.  Some people will tell you about some story about someone becoming a billionaire from some small cap coin and hitting it big when they bought in early but those are just stories.  You pretty much have to 25000x your money on a large cap coin which is impossible at this point.  Not to be a downer just being realistic.

Here's the Mock Trade:

Miami Heat gets:
Damian Lillard
Jusuf Nurkic

Portland Trail Blazers gets:
Ben Simmons
Kyle Lowry
Nikola Jovic
2028 first-round pick (via Brooklyn)
2028 first-round pick (via Miami)
2030 first-round pick (via Miami)

Brooklyn Nets gets:
Tyler Herro
2026 second-round pick (via Miami)

Source: https://allucanheat.com/2023/07/06/perfect-3-team-trade-damian-lillard-miami-heat/

If this trade happens Heat would rob all of them. Getting Lillard and Nurkić for basically nothing is a great deal for them. Lowry is at the retirement stage, maybe this is his last year. Nikola Jović didn't get any time in Heat and Herro is not an indispensable player. Jimmy Butler and Damian Lillard combo would work in next 2 seasons as we may see Heat in finals again.

I agree, Miami is in win now mode with Jimmy and Bam, adding those 2 seem like that would put them over the top.  Dame>>>>>>hero at this point and hero didn't even really play in the playoffs.  Adding nurkic would be the icing.  But I said it before Portland wouldn't want 2030 firsts they would probably want something near term to add to their young core group.  Don't think this trade would go through with 2028 and 2030 firsts.
1179  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 06, 2023, 08:51:06 PM
No news yet on Dame's trade, seems to be so quiet and it only means no deal has been done or there are still like ironing things out.

Currently, there are no concrete news about Dame's trade and Portland is still giving the Heat the chance to have Dame this offseason.
Regarding about the trade, it seems that a 3rd party is needed on the trade and it's the Brooklyn Nets who surfaced amongst all teams who are interested to facilitate it because Portland have changed their mind and that they are now not interested in getting Tyler Herro.

Here's the Mock Trade:

Miami Heat gets:

Source: https://allucanheat.com/2023/07/06/perfect-3-team-trade-damian-lillard-miami-heat/

Honestly Portland gets 3 future first round picks in thos package which isn't all that bad.  They can plan for the future but the only thing I'd say is that they'd want those first round picks a lot closer to now.  Like okc has done, stacked all the young guys together and let them grow together.  If two of those are in the 2024-2026 range I'd say that would get it done.

Of course, when you get a lot of future picks, then it's good for your team, however, it is still not an assurance that you can select young players that can blossom to be a superstar, many teams have done this before and most of the times it doesn't pay that much.

As for the flopping, at least the league is doing something now, for those who have been watching NBA for years, we don't want to see players flopped to act to sell a foul. And that's why you will hear former NBA legends saying that the game is now soft as compare to previous era.

Those future picks don't always get used as actual picks though.  Most of the time they use them at trade deadlines to snahlg up current players that will help theor team.  Having a ton of future firsts gives you the flexibility of how you want to shape your team for the next 5-10 years.  Picks are a commodity almost as good as players are.
