1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 04, 2023, 06:45:31 PM
Dame wanting Heat is not really a "terrible" idea, the problem is that the assets Heat would have to give up would be hurting them. I am not saying that it would hurt them more than Dame helps, they would overall be a better team if you ask me, but in the end they will still be left with some empty spaces.

Giving away Herro for example is a mistake, not because he is a great player, of course he is not and any Heat fan would know that he is a sinkhole on defense and needs to work on that, and his Offense relies on shooting alone. However, with Dame on the floor, they will need players like him to stretch the floor. All in all, if Dame was a free agent, that would be simple, but right now it looks like it is not going to be easy decision at all.
His addition on heat can really be a big gamble to that team since they need to give up their good piece and might they lose huge contribution on bench so maybe they need to work this out on free agency and get those guys that can potentially help them if they really want to get Lillard into their team. This is really a big decision that they need to take since they already lose Vincent which and now they might lose more.
I do not care how much they would lose their bench players, if they can get some free agents for minimum and handle that part that would be enough. Right now, they are working towards making a third team, that way Heat would send players to third team, and Portland would send dame to heat, and the third team would pay picks to Portland instead.

So any team that wants players like herro or duncan or whatever, would end up with paying picks in the draft, and Portland would get the picks so they can rebuild after dame, and Heat would get the big trio. Right now, they already made 2 finals in the last 4 years if I am not wrong, and adding Dame to Butler and Adebayo would mean that they could actually be insanely well, making a team that is already good and finalists to even better team is rare and they should do it.

I don't buy that though.  What players on the Heat are gonna garner enough picks for Portland to let go of Dame?  Hero is about theor only piece that will get any ground on picks.  Duncan doesn't move the needle, he is a 5-10 minute a night guy on any contending team not named the Heat.
1182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 04, 2023, 06:07:24 PM
Simple reason is that humans are emotional.  What I mean by that is we don't do things 100% to "the plan".  I know I personally have chased losses meaning trying to make up what  I lost in matchups that weren't ones I shoukd have leaned heavy into.  At least personally I think that's the main reason.  Instead of accepting a loss and just keep betting according to your plan we chase.

According to the latest news I've read, there is only one team that Damian Lillard wants to be traded to now and that is the Miami Heat. (Shams Charania)

If this trade happens, it will be very good for the Miami Heat.
Do you think this trade will happen?
This rumor has been around during this trade war and I think it's very plausible that Dame will be out of Portland and likely to get on Heat.
That's the Heat is also rumored to offer a trade that's hard to decline just for Dame but we shall see the trade rumor happen within the next few days, maybe.

Of course it will be beneficial to Miami Heat, that is if Dame remains healthy throughout the season. In the beginning of last season, they are one of the best team until Dame got injured, and then it went downhill for them. Even if he comes back, it's kinda too late as they went deep in the standing.

And now that they've lost 2 of their players, Vincent and Struss, then they might need a guy that can help Bam and Jimmy in offense.

So Dame might be a good fight for them in the long run. Another MVP caliber player, downside is that he is now injury prone.

They retained Martin because they believe in his talent. Of course, the Heat could let Vincent and Struss go because they are expecting a high-profile player to join, most likely Dame. In fact, they are offloading some players just to accommodate him. They are taking a significant risk for Lillard, so it would be a mess if he were to get injured in case this trade would really happen.

Problem us Dame doesn't get to choose where he goes.  Portland has some nice young pieces in Sharpe and now scoot.  I'm sure they will want Dame to be happy but if another team offers a significantly better package then that's where he will go.  Same conversation was had last year with Donovan Mitchell.  He's a ny and openly said that's where he wanted to go and here we are with Mitchell on the cavs.  Miami is going to have to pony up if they want him that bad.

Honestly I appreciate your hustle.  Most people these days just randomly attach onto a coin and try to ride the highs and lows.  You seem to have a sound strategy.  The one thing I like to hear is averaging altcoins is a bad idea.  That's probably a good strategy in that they are way too volatile and more apt to go to zero than bitcoin.  Following this thread
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: July 03, 2023, 07:37:20 PM
It's like any other addiction some people understand they are addicted and don't get offended but most people would be.  Most will.likely say they just like gambling and not even understand they are addicted.  It usually takes someone from outside theor gambling bubble to let them know so if someone is having a really difficult time with their addiction it might help to let them know so that you can also offer advise on where to go to get help.
1186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 03, 2023, 05:45:16 PM
Miami would be a great place for Dame, they already have Butler and Adebayo, and a lot of shooters with duncan and herro as well. That means we are going to end up with a squad that will be very good for the current era of basketball. They have one big that is very talented both on defense and on rebounding and could scoop up points inside when needed, that is very good, not star on offense and scoring for sure but at least like get the offensive rebound or something or do pick and roll decently and also most importantly lock inside down on defense.

Dame and Butler could take over depending on which one is hot, and they could always pass it outside to some of the three pointers which would help them on the long run without a doubt, like when defense collapses on the same person all the time, they can pass it out.

Yes, that's what I also think about if ever Dame will land in Miami Heat this summer. Although Robinson and Herro might be traded away to cater Dame but that is still a good package for Miami Heat because finally, Jimmy Butler will have his own duo while Bam Adebayo will have the freedom to lock down any players that could be a threat to their rim without thinking more as he knows now that there is Jimmy and Dame outside the perimeter.

I just don't see it happening.  If the Heat don't get stripped of all its players for Dame then they will likely be a perennial late round team so their firsts aren't worth as much as a bottom end team, and theor players just don't really ring out as players psortland is looking for.  Maybe I'm wrong but I can see him with the Bucks.  That would be fun to see him and giannis running the floor.

The Chicago Bulls applied to the NBA management for a $10.2 million 'unusable player exemption' due to Lonzo Ball's injury!

I think Lonzo Ball's career is over. Lonzo Ball will most likely never play in the NBA again.

Honestly we probably ly will see him again.  Kid is still only 25, probably won't play this year but we will see him on the court again.  Problem is with so many knee issues how effective will he be is the question.  With guards requiring an insane amount of lateral agility, knee injuries are typical "productive" career enders.  Might end up like d rose amd ride bench and provide insight to the younger fellas on the team.

Maybe we'll see Lonzo Ball in the NBA again, but I think it's very unlikely.
Because I don't see this self-confidence in this man. I hope he mistakes me and comes back.

Well it would be pretty bad for anyone to go through this and being multiple times on that knee he is probably really frustrated.  But anyone of these guys that makes it to the NBA now adays has a determination unlike normal individuals.  They can literally spend their entire time dedicated to read since that's "their job".  He is young enough to not throw in the towell.
1188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: DISCUSSION-How hard is it to beat a sportsbook? on: July 03, 2023, 04:25:48 PM
Years ago when information traveled slowly it was a lot easier to find a place to hit a line that hasn't moved.  With the availability of that information and automation to a degree on lines that it has been difficult to grab a good line.  In terms of beating a book it's doable for savy bettors and a well disciplined one who doesn't chase losses.

This is just another scam coin cash grab utilizing buzz words.  There are plenty of "trump" coins already why would this be any different.  If anyone is looking at this coin and think they can possibly make money from it you might want to think twice.  You will probably just end up getting dumped on and left holding the bag.  I'd steer clear.

I can't believe we're only a month away from a cursory preseason teaser, and only six weeks away from unofficial football.  To be honest, I haven't missed it.  I'm glad that this thread has been largely active all off-season, happy to see you guys are enjoying it.  But I just haven't had the heart heart for it.

After the 49ers' last game I began questioning reality.  Is this life real, or am I living in matrix-like experimental reality where cruelty is inflicted on test-subjects through chemically induced highs and lows as hallucinations of football and women?

I don't know, I just don't know.

Lol I'm a die hard knicks fan so I can appreciate you questioning of reality 😂.

One thing is for sure San Fran is built to compete every year for the near term so enjoy the run.  Remember only one team wins it every year amd every other team is in exactly the same position.  Nfc is a wild card this year I can't figure out who will be on top.

Afc is a little easier as it's top heavy.  Can't wait!
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 02, 2023, 09:13:41 PM
Dame’s path to Miami is starting to look a little cloudy. The Portland Trailblazers have come out now and said that they’re open to hearing from any team in the league about trading Damian Lillard. They initially seemed to be willing to do whatever it took to get Dame where he wanted to go, but when it came time to sign the dotted line their tune started to change.

It's all a pony show.  They need to say that so that if Miami really wants Dame they want to ring up the price for him.  If they just come out and say we are dealing him to Miami they lose any leverage.  Whether or not he lands there is still up for debate based on the package they get back.  Portland isn't just gonna give him away for anything.

Ya, but there’s also perception around the league. They aren’t going to get fair value back no matter what, but it is a chance to show their loyalty to a longtime player who is viewed as the most loyal in the league. That could be good for free agent signings.

How about Desmond Bane getting over 200 million dollars out of the Grizzlies? Gotta be the worst signing so far.

In the end Miami doesn't have a lot of pieces I'd be super excited about.  I know they are a finals team but it's more about the team being worth more than the individual pieces.  I'd do the same thing if I was Portland.

And yeah $200 mil for bane might bury them with not being able to move much more around.  Chips in the center I guess.  He isn't a bad player but I get your point I can't see how some of these guys only getting 70-80 million and bane gets 200.  Guess that's home town going all in and hope he gets even better.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A qualified strategy exist in gambling? If yes, come and talk. on: July 02, 2023, 09:08:30 PM
Easy...poker.  you don't play the house you play other people and skill exists.  Seriously why would you play some poker table game where the odds are stacked up against you instead of playing poker against other people.  Strategy is simple.

Play loose against tight players and tight against loose players waiting for a good hand.  Lots of other nuances involved but that is a winning strategy right there.

Just another normal day for a useless altcoin.  They get manipulated all the time to catch a quick pump.  I haven't tracked bcash for awhile funny to hear its stick kicking along.  Don't be fooled by it though it will dump just as hard as it pumps.  Nothing moves permanently until bitcoin starts moving.

Token or coin burns are the dumbest tactic to try to raise prices.  It's an artificial event in order to try to strum up a pump.  What's even worse is tokens that build that in from inception.  It's a tell tale sign for me that I should steer clear of the project.  Luna is toast these are momentary things that can't sustain price.
1197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How is your Gambling Pattern Like? on: July 02, 2023, 04:28:03 PM
I think to each theor own on this one you really can't mimmick someone else's habits it might work for them but not for you.  In terms of gambling if I ever feel the "need" to gamble I take note and try to stay away.  For me if gambling isn't fun then it's time to stop for that specific period.  That has served me well through the years.
1198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 02, 2023, 04:17:26 PM
LaMelo Ball and Tyrese Haliburton both getting five-year max contracts sounds crazy. I think it's a huge gamble for their teams but I hope it pays off for the Hornets and the Pacers hehe. The team's respective head coaches have a big task of keeping these players motivated and disciplined.

Haliburton is going to be one of the best ploint guards in the league over the course of this contract most likely the way things are looking.  No way a different team doesn't offer them the max.  To keep good young talent you have to pony up.  And of course it's a gamble, all of these contracts are.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 02, 2023, 02:51:31 AM
Westbrook signing with the Clippers for 2 years and 8 million is nuts. He surely could’ve gotten double that and maybe triple somewhere else. I think he took his stint with the Lakers personally and now he just wants to help the Clippers be the top dog in Los Angeles. With this deal the Clippers should be able to go after another big free agent.

Kind of in the same mindset but what good does he serve on a team like the Pacers that would pay him more.  At this point it has to be about winning right?  Foe the clips it's a steal because at anytime russ Alcan be russ and well worth way more than a $4mil a year type player.  But on the other hand at that age I'm sure he seen how teams dealt with players like Melo, you can get black balled out of the league so if he just wants to play it's a good deal for him too since he doesn't have to worry about that now.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 01, 2023, 08:46:28 PM
Looks like the Lakers are on a resigning spree as they have just announced that Austin Reeves has been signed to a 4-year deal for over 50 million dollars. If that’s correct, then I think the Lakers did a pretty good job of keeping the guys they should keep and at low enough contract rates for them to possibly be able to make some moves next year.

Based on what sg will make in 4 years this is probably a steal.  What I'm not convinced about is if austin reaves is the guy you want to hang your #2 sg guard on.  He had a real good season and broke out.  But now that the NBA has tape on him and can key in on him, is he athletic enough to adjust and continue to succeed in this league?  I guess this year time will tell.  I would have tried for a 2 or 3 year deal before locking him.in long term.
