<snip>

edit: and i can feel those  Pfizer 5G nanobots feeding me lifeforce as i type, especially now that ive had the 2nd injection. 5 bars of 5G signal on my phone now and no 5G towers in 100 miles of here. sweet bonus, that! i have become.. become.. well.. something.

I don't believe you that, you know.
Because the Pfizer shot does contain no hydrogel which in turn is obviously needed for organically based wireless transmissions and nanobot implants.
Therefor: definitely no internet connection with the Pfizer shot and you will also not get better 5G signal either (math, science, etc.). Hell I even am not sure if you've really got any nanobots, people can say anything on the internets and I am 50/50 you are just bragging around with your nanobot implants  Grin

That's what the gubbermint of OZ has to say about the topic of internet connections through vaccines (they only talk about the Pfizer shot, so I wonder if the moderna stuff has better connectivity):

[...math and sciencey stuff edited out...]

so now i need two moderna shots in addition to my 2 pfizers for the full 5G nanobot lifeboosting effect? great. just great. the things we put up with just for the chance of some random superpower.

Wife and I are looking forward to second shot.

had less side effects from the second than the 1st. bit of mild fatigue and bit sore at injection site. gone in a couple days.

Dip is back on the menu, boys.

Buying bigger chunks this drop. First order just got filled at $55.5k on the way down.

i lucked out and had a standing buy order pop at ~$53.5. then loaded some more corn at around 54k manually yesterday when i woke up.

also unloading a couple alts that pumped and converted to corn.

life is good.

The 4% "safe withdrawal" rate comes from a "passive investment" in a broad based index or mutual fund of approximately 60% stocks and equities, and 40% bonds. Putting your money in the S&P 500 or a Total Stock Market fund would achieve similar results.

The study also uses 30 years as a retirement number, how long you can stay retired.

There are several calculators out there, but you can try for example firecalc.com

If you input $1m and $40k as annual withdrawal for 30 years, you get a 95% success rate. Out of 120 possible 30 year cycle periods, 6 failed.

one issue: life extension drugs that may appear. now your 30 year retirement is 60 years. give or take. plan accordingly.

Besides, you should be aiming to increase your overall wealth by minimum 10% each year. Then you only need to worry about choosing “his and her” matching colour Lambos... or his/his (Bob)

well, three really: yours, your wifes, and your wifes boyfriend*

*all genders to be adjusted to taste of course.
1187  Economy / Economics / Re: Flexible Work Schedule on: April 18, 2021, 09:40:31 PM
Internet quality is really very poor in many countries and therefore hinders the effectiveness of work. If a person works within the city center, while in the office, then the results will be excellent, but if you get home from the city, then the Internet speed is 2-3G
I haven't thought about this but I'd guess that's a minority. With such advanced technology I find it difficult to believe that poor internet connection is a thing, to a point that it could be limiting basic functionalities.

Unless we're talking about 3rd world countries, in which I find it hard to believe that the option of flexibility is provided.

err. USA here. shitty internet is the norm unless youre in/near a city. i cannot stream movies, zoom or dl large games (steam) for shit like 80% of the time. it takes literally days to a week for a steam game update. and btc node? i can only sync at night as it kills my inet dead.

so i couldnt work from home even if i wanted to, unless the company paid for starlink or something.

the internet in the USA is all greed and profit, companies could care less if internet is actually now a necessity for work and education nowadays.

1189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An unconfirmed tweet caused a $288 billion fall in bitcoin market value today on: April 18, 2021, 12:29:11 PM
If you look at that persons tweets I would put it in the same pile as any other random person tweeting.

For those of you out of the US who don't know, your 1st quarter estimated tax payments were due April 15th .
So you had to have your check for taxable capital gain profits in the mail by Thursday.

Some people may have played the game of writing and mailing the check on Thursday knowing they could sell though yesterday on Coinbase / Geminin / a few other places and have them ACH the funds to your checking account, so when the IRS deposits the check early this week it's covered.

Technically it's illegal since you are not supposed to mail checks that do not have the funds to cover them. In reality, it happens a lot.

Add that to a bunch of people just taking profits and you have a big drop.

Just my opinion. Not financial advice.

-Dave

pretty risky although i can see the appeal of waiting and cashing cap gains taxes out as late as you can. if corn goes up you win, goes down, you lose.

me, when i cash an amount out i always cash out an extra 15% or so and set it aside as fiat somewhere. boring, yup. but that way i know i have the quarterly payments.

rumour has it Bob just bought Texas

Not yet. Working on it. I'm fairly certain that between, Elwar, myself, and a bunch of other degens on Twitter, we could probably scrounge up enough BTC to take Texas off the USA's hands...

Poor.

Again.

yeah.

gonna get a 3x5 card and stick it to the monitor.  write "poor" on one side and "rich" on the other. just flip it accordingly. or maybe just randomly.

ouch, just checked the price ~$6k USD drop like overnight. maybe i should just write "poor" on both sides
1192  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 18, 2021, 10:36:02 AM

Needs an extra frame with pitchforks and torches $5 wrenches appearing in their hands.

ftfy

well melee weapons (wrenches) from the low ground against someone (likely with ranged weapons) on the high ground in a fortified structure traditionally hasnt gone over so well in history. gives that "i fart in your general direction" vibe.

i picture the battle of Helms Deep from LotR in my head for some reason.

of course im hoping civilization doesnt turn Mad Max so..

and we also had that at the time ... for the younger ones among us, this is a 5 1/4 inch disk Grin
would actually make a very good coldwallet, wouldn't it?

1. You'd have a hard time getting hardware or equipment to read anything from that.
2. Storage is limited to either 360k (180k if one sided) up to maybe 1.2mb?
3. That thing is not really water resistant or fire resistant, easily crushed or destroyed.

I like the idea though, it's not much better than a paper wallet.

might as well go right back to cassette tape storage. or better, Hollerith cards. immune to EMP and use steel cards instead of paper. so waterproof and fireproof (to a point).

ah wait peeps already do that with seed words and such. whats old becomes new.
1195  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, I salute your final ATH. on: April 17, 2021, 06:30:11 PM
So, yeah, this is totally the end. Looking ugly.

you seem pretty calm about the end. prolly long ago cashed out into that good old long term safe USD in some super reputable bank you lucky bastard.

yeah, we shoulda listened oh wise one.

oh the humanity

Doge? wtf Cheesy

I hear doge is going to be the new BTC. Nah, just kidding but wouldn't surprise me if plenty of shills are out their saying that.

What's nuts though is everything. XRP for gods sake, and binance coin?? Seriously, a coin for a dodgy exchange worth almost 80 billion.

I don't like where this is going. Not because I'm worried these oscillators will dethrone BTC, they will have their 90% crashes again, but rather that this kind of crazy stuff has signified market tops in the past.

other day i had the geo dude over to check over and do an annual checkup on our geothermal hvac and dhw system. hes part owner of the company that installed it (he was there busting his ass just like his crew when it went in), has engineering degrees etc. iow no dummy. older gent, on the verge of retirement (loves his work and company though so prolly wont retire till he has to)  and what does he come up with out of the blue? "ever hear of bitcoin?" i mentioned ive looked into it and played with it (didnt go into detail of what i had of course and he never asked, and i didnt ask him of course either) but we did get into the decentralized part, fixed supply, trustless, the inflation of fiat, musk and other institutions getting btc on their balance sheets instead of fiat. spoke of banks that years ago closed accounts for being hooked to exchanges and now are tripping over themselves to get in on the action. and other signs that fiat is on its way out. he was surprisingly knowledgeable on a lot of it already. while of course btcs been all over the news lately too but not the parts we discussed, so he had done some digging on his own.

but. he seemed to like doge coin because of musk. i mentioned it started as a joke and while money can be made with it, btc was the Real Deal.

hoping he has a stack of btc sitting around. damn hard worker, he deserves not to have his retirement ripped out from under him by our ever helpful brrr machine.

Sorry dear people for the Late reply i was wage slaving, i really do appreciate the Advices given to quit Cigarettes ! Now its only up to me... Thanks guys Smiley

First you start to smoke to be cool.
Then you recognize smoking isn't really cool.
Then you actually quit.
Then you finally ARE cool.

So put that way, smoking makes you kinda cool, but first you have to quit it Cool

isnt that kinda like being one of those artists who become cool and famous only after theyre dead?

much rather be uncool and wish id never started.
1198  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 15, 2021, 02:26:00 PM
vaping can both make it easier and harder to quit cigs. easier because, unlike a cig, it wont stay lit till its done (cigs add chemicals to keep it burning, contrast that with a cigar with no chemicals.. it goes out when you leave it). so, light a cig and you pretty much are forced to smoke the whole thing as its gonna burn down to the filter anyway. plus it coats everything with that nice orange gunk.. (smokers just look at your computer innards and fans.. eeeew man mine were soooo disgusting).

vaping. press the button, inhale or once or twice, put it back in your pocket nice and neat, done. and those subzero mods can put out clouds of vapour of sizes that you have to see to believe. and no ash, no ashtrays that stink, no orange coating in the rooms etc. of course theres maintenance - cleaning, replacing seals, coils etc. but thats was actually an attraction to me.. kinda calming doing coils maintenance and whatnot.

[...]

I'm against smoking in general, but the way you describe vaping makes me want to try it. I see colleagues and friends with these vaping machines that look so high-tech, like some kind of weapon that came out of an alien ship or something. OLED displays, coil resistances, wattage, energy reserves.  Cheesy

yeah they have upgradable firmware, you can choose the ramp up/down current on hits (gives nice smooth hits instead of hitting you like a 2x4), automatically calculate wattage needed for particular coil types and ohms, all that stuff. counts hits, takes 2 seconds to replace the batteries, flip top fills. etc. still will help kill ya though.

The issue with the serial # is that unlike an iPhone or a car, the serial # is just a sticker that can be easily removed and switched on a typical GPU. I actually had the serial # sticker fall off some of my mining GPUs in the past due to heat.

Don't know why they didn't make the serial # more robust instead of a simple sticker. Basically some stickers are tamper proof and they tear if you try and remove it, the GPU stickers are not that.

So even if you wrote down the #. Someone could easily just swap the stickers and you won't know which GPU you got.

ive heard some make a inconspicuous mark somewhere on the board and document it so they know if its really theirs if returned.
