1201  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to restore forgotten or lost seed-phrase on: February 23, 2023, 11:58:15 PM
So there's no way for that...

There is no way for what? To find a funded wallet address by randomly shuffling a 12-word seed phrase? I would say no.

If it were, don't you think someone would have figured it out by now? Bitcoin's value is based on the fact that it is secure and impossible to hack. If it were that easy to access someone's funds, Bitcoin wouldn't be worth much at all.

You are not the first person to think of this. It is been a topic of discussion in the Bitcoin community for years, and all the experts agree that it is virtually impossible.
1202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How somebody can prove that my wallet belong to him? on: February 23, 2023, 11:08:21 PM
Let us make it maximum easy.

We both know seed-phrase. How can i prove that the wallet is mine???

Why bother proving that a wallet belongs to you? Even if you manage to prove it, what is the point? The other person will still own the private key, and that cannot be changed.

One possibility that comes to mind is being able to demonstrate the priority of using a particular address. For example, if you have made a public record of the address or have used it to deposit funds, and you can prove that the transaction belongs to you.
1203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is your reason for gifting bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 10:58:48 PM
Bitcoin may not be the best option when it comes to helping someone out of a tough situation. While it ultimately depends on the individual, in many cases, they may choose to sell it, especially if they are not interested in Bitcoin. And, in some cases, they might not know how to go about it.

There are other ways to support a friend, family member, or loved one who is struggling. It may not be as flashy as sending them a lump sum of dollars, but it can make more of a difference in their lives. But, if you are looking to help someone out and give them some money, there are plenty of other options that may be better suited for their needs. For example, if the person is having trouble paying their bills and needs help with utilities or rent, cash is always a great option.
1204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin is Legal in United State ? on: February 23, 2023, 09:59:21 PM
Legal tender is the form of payment that must be accepted by law for debts and taxes. (wiki) In the US, legal tender is limited to US dollars only - sorry, Bitcoin!  Wink

But seriously, although Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies aren't considered legal tender in most countries, they can still be used as a form of payment. However, in some cases, you may be required to pay taxes on your cryptocurrency transactions. For example, if you're an American citizen and you make purchases with Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency, the IRS considers this a capital gain or loss.
1205  Economy / Reputation / Re: 'Bitcointalk forum is going downhill because of dkbit98' - CoinPayCard.net on: February 22, 2023, 10:05:34 PM
Damn scammers! Looks like you were right all along.

As DaveF pointed out, it was right there in their T&C:

Some thoughts:

Seriously? You more or less said that at any time you can take the money and run.

1206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware wallet questions on: February 22, 2023, 09:49:07 PM
* Can a hardware wallet be formatted and start afresh?

Yes, as far as I know, most popular hardware wallets can be reset to its factory settings, which will wipe all the data stored on it and allow it to start fresh. The exact process for resetting a hardware wallet may vary depending on the specific model and manufacturer. But, just in case, make sure you have a secure backup of your seed phrase before resetting the device.
1207  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have been subjected to harassment on: February 22, 2023, 09:19:28 PM
How about stop attacking me ... when he was the one who stole my funds and used my propitiatory data to do so.  That is my point
Yet lets continue diluting the main aspect ... good job.

Based on the messages you have sent, it appears that you were the one who engaged in verbal abuse, threats, and extortion towards albert0bsd. Just re-read some of the stuff you posted and see for yourself. Regarding the second part of your argument, I will repeat it again:
1) You have not provided sufficient evidence to establish that the wallet in question belongs to you, nor have you demonstrated any legal entitlement to it.
2) You also lack credible evidence to support your claim that albert0bsd actually stole the funds.

I have paused filing a judgement against luis which will effect him in Mexico in lieu of feed back from the mods, but you can sit there and assume they dont care and make crass assumptions instead.

I was not making stuff up earlier, it is actually a verifiable fact. The mods on this platform do not mess with people's personal drama. So, stop saying the same crap over and over again.

Im not the one here who did something wrong.. realize that and dont need others input when its biased to say the least. Its easy to run your mouth when it doesn't involve you.

Just a quick reminder, you are discussing this in a public forum, in case you forgot. If different opinions bother you, then I suggest you go find yourself a nice echo chamber.

The rules dont allow members to steal from others under the guise of helping. Give me a god dam break.

What specific rules you are referring to?

How the hell am i whining you troll when he was the one who opened this thread.
More so if no one cares then i will just move forward with what i already have confirmed is relevant oh but those lawyers and such are wrong too due to these rules huh... right...
Stop hating on me for no reason or make up conjecture.

Stop bullying and harassing other people! Three months ago you threatened to take him to court, so if you truly believe you are in the right, why not follow through with it already?
1208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I want to know more about bitcoin and bitcointalk forum on: February 21, 2023, 10:07:31 PM
~
I would be extremely grateful if I would get additional information and guidance about the forum.

Welcome aboard the forum, glad you have decided to hop onto the Bitcoin express!  Wink

However, I am curious as to why your friends who have knowledge about Bitcoin weren't able to assist you further in your quest for knowledge. Have you tried asking them for more information and guidance about the forum, or are they perhaps not as well-versed in the subject?
1209  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have been subjected to harassment on: February 21, 2023, 09:11:17 PM
Instead of rambling on and on with your walls of text, try streamlining your argument. The constant repetition is getting annoying.

~
Just let the mod handle it and such , this is why they were asked to step in .. so things are not stepped on or overlooked. There is more than one aspect here as well.

Well, it seems that you have missed the memo, so let me spell it out for you: modes couldn't care less about your complaints or your whining. Their job is to ensure that the forum rules are followed, period. And while we are at it, why don't you take a moment to read the damn rules yourself?

Here is the mapping for that day..  Thank you.

Your point?
1210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to run a bounty campaign? on: February 21, 2023, 08:11:19 PM
~
Can a newbie become a bounty manager? now, to go from newbie to junior member, you must need to get merit and getting merit is really very difficult. I don't know the rules about bounty managers, but if newbies are allowed, why not?
~

Well , if you ask me, bounty managers typically require experience and knowledge in the field, as well as familiarity with the rules and regulations of the forum. As for newbies being able to become a bounty manager, I do not think there is any rule prohibiting it but considering that a newbie probably does not have much experience or knowledge in this field, they might not be as effective bounty managers as someone who has been on the forum for a while.
1211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to run a bounty campaign? on: February 19, 2023, 06:52:44 PM
What can I do to become a manager, please tell me

Running bounty campaigns as a newbie could be a bit challenging. Firstly, being a newbie means your forum rank has certain limitations as compared to other ranks. You can learn more about this in this topic: Forum ranks/positions/badges
Secondly, since you have a non-existent forum reputation, it might be tough to get many project owners to work with you. Perhaps you could start by actively participating in the forum and building your rank, and then consider running bounty campaigns? I hope this suggestion helps.
1212  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone heard of the crypto paymet processor rocketfuelblockchain.com? on: February 19, 2023, 06:43:43 PM
I was looking for crypto payment processors for a project a few years ago, but I was not aware of their existence until today.  I am surprised that I had never heard of them before, especially since they have been in operation for at least the last five years.

From what I can tell, there is only one mention of them on this forum, in this thread from last year: What crypto payment gate is the best?
1213  Economy / Reputation / Re: What a moment?!! on: February 19, 2023, 06:02:22 PM
I am very glad and can't express my feeling as I have reached my desired level (Legendary).
Thanks to all the community.
~

Congratulations on your well-deserved new rank, shasan! Although it took you a bit longer, it is great to see you finally achieve it!
1214  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto casino project - bug hunt & feature ideas on: February 18, 2023, 11:14:40 PM
My original idea was to start with a base and gradually turn it into 100% my own thing. It's much easier to start when you have a base, no matter what it is.

Well, there is nothing inherently problematic about that approach, as it is a common practice among developers. However, I do have some reservations about your ethical stance.

The problem is people in this forum would rather argue. That's fine by me as I know what my final goal is
Their fixation on the fact I managed to sell a couple of these is making it impossible to talk to them about the bigger picture and the point I wanted to make.

The problem is that you seem unwilling to acknowledge and attribute credit to those who rightfully deserve it, while simultaneously attempting to take ownership of something that is not yours. Essentially, this behavior could be considered a form of theft.

People need and deserve better casino software - at least better than what is currently being sold for $2k by you-know-who.

While it may indeed be true, but do you not believe that it is equally important to acknowledge and give some credit to the original developers for their work? After all, you are still utilizing their code, correct? Besides, if you believe that people deserve better software, why not adhere to the principles of Open Source and publicly release the source code along with your modifications and bug fixes, just like others do? That is how Open Source should work.
1215  Economy / Exchanges / Re: The Fraud company Localbitcoins is closing on: February 18, 2023, 10:19:17 PM
LBC has my bitcoins, but put me on forced holiday? Is this they way the get away with their scam?
https://localbitcoins.com/service_closure/

Does anybody knows where the main scammer Vladislav Alimpiev is hiding?

When I try to withdrawal my BTC, LBC is saying I can send maximum: 0 BTC

Have you reached out to LocalBitcoins customer support regarding the frozen funds in your account? It seems like there may be more to the story than you are sharing. As some users have noted, LocalBitcoins reserves the right to terminate accounts for illegal or fraudulent activity on their platform.
1216  Other / Archival / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: February 18, 2023, 09:59:56 PM
Has anyone here had troubles explaining bitcoin or crypto to a normal person?

Yes, many times. But I define "normal" very loosely in this context.  Wink

If bitcoin is supposed to be the future of finance, then the whole world will need to know at one point or another. Basically bitcoin and crypto education is borderline mandatory in our honest opinion.

What do you all think?

To put it simply, as the use of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency becomes more widespread, it is likely that more people will need to understand these concepts. In a world that is increasingly digitized, digital currencies may become more common and even necessary in some situations. So, it is good to familiarize yourself with these terms. But not everyone needs to know all the technical details. Just like millions of people use card payments and ATMs without knowing how they work, many may use cryptocurrencies without understanding all the details.
1217  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have been subjected to harassment on: February 18, 2023, 09:04:49 PM
@MikeJ_NpC I suggest you stop with these fucking walls of text without explaining or proving anything. There is no doubt that this wallet was never yours to begin with, so please stop harassing the guy since he did not steal anything from you.

https://twitter.com/tokenview2018/status/1595631118694260736

@NotATether, I do not believe albert0bsd needs to prove anything here. Even if we assume that he was able to crack the wallet somehow and transfer the coins, it is highly unlikely that someone sitting on almost a quarter of a billion dollars would be wasting their time responding to this crap. With that kind of money, you can easily pull a Houdini - change your place of residence, assume a new identity, and vanish off the face of the planet without a trace.  Grin

It is obvious that this guy is trolling and blackmailing him with his bullshit stories and threats.
1218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Helped my neighbor to purchase some Bitcoins on: February 17, 2023, 10:44:25 PM
I think it is actually quite common for people to first learn about cryptocurrency through ads, especially when they talk about the potential for huge profits. If you are not well-versed in finance or economics, these ads can be very enticing. In fact, a lot of people buy into crypto because they see other people doing it and they want to get a piece of the action. But the problem with this is that if you don’t understand what you are investing in, then you could easily lose a lot of money. Having someone you can trust to guide you through the process can definitely help.
1219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: All newbies are welcome to this forum on: February 17, 2023, 10:05:33 PM
If you don't mind, I want to know and learn more about this form. I am new here. I want to talk with people but can't find people with my same interest here. I even don't know which topic is not allowed to talk.

Can you help please?

Great that you want to learn more and connect with like-minded people. It is always a good idea to find people with similar interests. And do not worry, there are tons of topics to explore - you will find your niche in no time! If you cannot find a topic that interests you, consider starting a new discussion.

As for the no-no's, just avoid being a spammer, personal attacks, plagiarism or selling any illegal stuff. But honestly, that should be a no-brainer, right? Be sure to read these tips:: Newbies - Read before posting

If you have any other burning questions, feel free to ask.
1220  Other / Meta / Re: [Request] Temp lock Bitvest.io thread (prevent spam) on: February 15, 2023, 10:42:31 PM
but my suggestions is - that those threads get locked, until further resolutions.

But why? There are other threads that do not have an active casino representative on the forum. Why should we treat Bitvest thread differently? I think it is important to have consistency in how moderatos manage different threads, and spam should be treated on a post-by-post basis.

Regarding LightLord's health, it is important to respect people's privacy and not discuss personal matters unless they directly affect the operation of the service. While he may have declared an illness in the past, he resumed posting on the forum months later, so it is reasonable to assume that his health has improved since then. And, apart from that, there is also Zodiac1233.
