OK, so I imported my keys and wallet is fully sync now. But the balance is still zero.

How much time does it take to receive CALM on my imported keys?

Been more than 12 hours but still no CLAMS. Am I doing anything wrong?
why not claim your clams on just-dice from there withdraw it to whatever addy you want.

I was able to import the wallet sucecssfully at last.

I don't know what went wrong the first time I imported the wallet. I also tried importing individual private keys, but I received error that the key was invalid. I extracted the keys from Multibit, not the core wallet. Does it matter?

Anyway, I imported the wallet from scratch again and it worked. All eligible addresses reeived the free CALM distribution.

Thanks for all your help, guys!

Stop by CLAMs IRC and ask for help there. Be patient, as it may take a bit for somebody to answer. It's alot easier to help you troubleshoot in IRC Smiley
http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=clams

have you checked if the addresses have clams?

in #clams IRC you can check by typing "&check <address>"
and the bot will tell you if the address has clams

Thanks! I just checked and it says the "address was included in initial distrubution".

I am in a rush right now, so I'll try the import process again in a couple of hours and will let everyone know how it goes.

1) All legitimate people interested in a coin's future use (not the price) will care. People wanting to pump & dump won't care.

2) Not to mention the trillions of threads already on this forum, I'll just point to one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=755840.0

1) The same number of Monero will me created by mining every day, regardless of the  network hashrate or the source of the hashrate.

2) Conjecture.

1) Unfair distribution

2) Rather than going through the same discussion already posted in that thread over and over again, let's just agree to disagree here.

1327  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: 3% btc profit every 10 days on: January 03, 2015, 10:08:07 AM
Someone will make money, but someone left out in the cold. I don't want to be a fool.

Exactly.

Showing the performance day-to-day doesn't mean legit business. All ponzi schemes start well by providing initial profits. But in the end someone loses money; that's how such ponzis work.

Do not be fooled by initial profits and just stay away.

I wish there was a way to import individual private keys to CLAM wallet.

i believe you can, using "importprivkey <privkey>" in the console

True.

It's quite slow unless you tell it not to rescan until the last import:

importprivkey PRIVKEY '' false

The false means 'don't rescan'. The default is true. The '' is the label for the imported address.

You can also 'dig' individual private keys using the chat box at Just-Dice.com - see the FAQ tab there, and type /dig in the chat tab for more info.

This is a great idea, thanks for the advice. I have imported the keys successflly and now I'm just waiting for wallet to sync.

13 weeks behind...

How do I claim my CLAM for my old BTC addresses?

File/Import wallet  and locate your wallet.dat

Make sure you move your coins to another wallet first (not address in the same wallet).

Thanks, I should have read the OP carefully; it was already mentioned there.

I'll make sure to use only zero-balance addresses. I wish there was a way to import individual private keys to CLAM wallet.

At the request of NEOS developers, we will be delisting NEOS from coin-swap.net

Please withdraw any NEOS you have ASAP.

Regards,

CoinSwap-Jared
Good Job Syntaks!! You were the first to start the movement, now LTC and Blackcoin have asked and been removed aswell!!

DOGECOIN devs have also requested the delisting of DOGE from Coin-Swap.

I am really enjoying this. GAW deserves this. Where are my popcorns?  Cheesy

1333  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] OnePlus One on: January 02, 2015, 01:34:13 PM
i can say that its the best android i ever had

I cannot agree more with you. This phone is probably the best budget phone there is right now on the market.

actually, its bad to call it a budget phone because it has a decent price.
cpu and ram kills 95% of any other androids on the market

Correct, I wouldn't call it a budget phone.

Xiaomi is one of the companies which can challenge such specs with better pricing. The current competitor can be 'Redmi Note 4G' with slightly inferior specs than OnePlus One, but with very lucrative pricing (around $200 only).
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Paycoin failed on: January 02, 2015, 01:27:25 PM
So Paycoin. That coin that was suppose to become the next big thing.. GAW did so many things wrong. If your going to make a coin, do the exact opposite of what GAW did.

Here are a few things that they did wrong:
1. They kept pushing their releases back
2. Too many Q&A about things that were pushed back
3. They did not choose their words wisely
4. PoW failed
5. PoS did not take over properly
6. PayBase was pushed backed so long
... The list goes on and on

My point is, that this coin was a bad coin from the beginning. And what made it worse was that Walmart, Amazon, and Target publicly said that they are in no way affiliated or partnered with GAW Miners. WHAT! So these three major companies publicly say this. This is a big face palm moment. If I were you, I would sell my Paycoins.

The biggest reason was:
A very small portion was actually available for mining. Majority of the coins were pre-mined, reserved for investors and developers.

Not to mention they wanted to sell this shit for $20 per coin.
1335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin wallet crashed and rebuilding ? on: January 02, 2015, 01:23:35 PM
Not quite understanding what happend but it seems my wallet is rebuilding 5 years back in time now?
i have no clue if that small amount of btc i had is gone or not when it will be sync?

If you have the wallet.dat file safe or backed up, your coins are not going anywhere.
The blockchain data might have been corrupted and it will be fine once it completes syncing.

Just to be on a safer side, take a backup of the wallet file now if you haven't already done so. If you have teh wallet file or the private keys, you're fine.
1336  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How to decrease bitcoin difficulty on: January 02, 2015, 01:19:49 PM
Hello All,

I would like to share a big secret to all miners.  We can decrease the bitcoin difficulty by creating a DownDifficulty coin.  This is a SHA-256 alternative coin, just like Paycoin.  People will stampede to this coin, thus bitcoin difficulty will decrease.

Is this a good secret or what?

There was an exact clone of Bitcoin - it was called Zetacoin. There was no difference between Bitcoin and Zetacoin, except that Zetacoin provided opportunity for the whole world to mine it from day 1 in the name of fair distribution.

Did people 'stampede to this coin'? You can look at what happened to Zetacoin.

IS UFO or ALIENS are real ?

what is your review friends?

It would be foolish to believe that in a universe having trillions of galaxies and planets, we're the only one with life form. There are certainly many more life forms out there.

The only questions remain are:
- Do they have same/greater intelligence as us?
- Are they intelligent enough to travel to our planet or contact us in some way?
- Are we equipped enough to recognize their communication?
1338  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Scientific Experiment with Reward in Bitcoin on: January 02, 2015, 01:06:13 PM
University of Zurich performs an experiment that rewards participants in Bitcoins:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1IrJJn7Th9veghxfirrj3aQqx23nhDBhUIBGspfaybS4/viewform

That's probably the first time Bitcoin is used for scientific research. Bitcoin is a great choice as it allows for anonymous incentives.

Reddit discussion:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/2pzc4h/play_a_game_earn_bitcoins_for_science/

Well, looks like the experiment has ended; they're still accepting the survey but payments are over.

10 mBTC isn't huge, but what's important is that they thought of using Bitcoin as a reward, opening a new way of using Bitcoins.
1339  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hitbtc.com locking in customer funds. on: January 02, 2015, 01:02:19 PM
An exchange ceasing to allow fiat withdrawals and giving very vague answers when customers ask why they are not getting their money.
Does that remind anyone of a little bit of history repeating?

My guess:
Hitbtc.com has run into some serious banking problems and is now trying to get customers to rather exit their funds in crypto (at well above average rates), then to pay people their balances in fiat.
Either that or they are finally packing things and are getting ready to make a run.

My 5 Satoshi: Hands off - hitbtc.com looks like going (m)t(g)oxic.

I've been using this exchange for a while now, but never used fiat deposits/withdrawals. I have always treated it as an altcoin exchange platform.

Thanks for the heads up though, I'll withdraw any altcoin balances I have there, just to be safe.
1340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governor of the central bank of India is speaking positively on Bitcoin on: January 02, 2015, 12:35:47 PM
I thought India was super against Bitcoin. What happened?

There was nothing 'against' Bitcoin, the RBI had only issued a statement warning people of Bitcoin's risks and volatility.

Also, in their current statement I see no clear positive or negative response. They're acknowledging the future viability of digital currencies - but the whole world acknowledges it anyway. What would really mean as a 'positive acceptance' is a timeline to adopt to digital currency.
