1341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BLOCKCHAIN account- Newbie - how to get one? on: January 01, 2023, 10:36:11 PM
Right! WILL DO.

Going in - wish me luck!

There... sent it...went through...waiting...could be a half days wait or 5min..till its 'rejected'!! who knows)

I looking forward to my bitcoins!!! ( IF it works....see how stuipt i am..i actually think im going to get it!!...if it works..i will make a final request...i only withdraw couple hundred..still have 150euro left in there....so....i will do the exact same process...generate a new seed..just..click the button....simple as that...and in my wallet i will have  2 lots of bitcoins amounting to around 350 euro. Right? )

( Wont keep bugging the forum, sorry for the emails...and the metrobank..they advising me to try some Weinsteinbank?? looked it up etc...i dunno...2023..stay away from casinos right!! wakeup call!! )

You do not need to generate a new seed for a new transaction. It is perfectly fine to create a new withdrawal to the same BTC address again. All addresses from your wallet are reusable.
1342  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BLOCKCHAIN account- Newbie - how to get one? on: January 01, 2023, 10:28:55 PM
I feel like im going to go ...... !!!

SO - Neurotic.....i went into 'view' and what comes up is a LOAD of 'receiving' ( green colour ) and a few 'yellow' colours. What the...is that!!!!!

SO... TOTALLY CONFUSED.

What are they? i am now worried...i give the dodgy casino a address..which is useless so even if they were geninue...id still not get the monies!!

There is no need to worry or feel unsure about this process. We are here to guide you through it step by step, so just take a deep breath and be patient. We will help you through it.

The bunch of green (and orange) addresses you see in the Address tab of your wallet are all your addresses. You can use any of them to receive funds.

-  HERES what i was going to do.    Please just tell me, its right.

- I have ( already ) pressed, Receive ( following on from previous instructions from previous email ) , and an addreess comes up, as mentioned 7days...thanks for explaining that....i didnt put the amount in.  That ok>?      SO....i will take this address and give it too casino site ( which as mentioned i tried..and works...in that seems ok...but havent pressed the actual withdraw button ).

THATS IT.  yes? Ignore all those green and yellows addresses! in the View TAB.

Yes, that should be fine. Double check that the address shown in the Receive tab of your wallet is identical to the one you pasted in the casino (visually check at least the last few digits). It is a good idea to start by withdrawing the smallest possible amount to ensure that everything is working correctly.
1343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BLOCKCHAIN account- Newbie - how to get one? on: January 01, 2023, 10:04:58 PM
i have no intention of wasting my year doing this..so ..thats it... try this..and leave the forum alone!!!!

Initially, you asked about the Blockchain.com web wallet... It is worth noting that web wallets, such as Blockchain.com, are not the most secure way to access your bitcoins. This is because it is possible to accidentally end up on a fake website (called a phishing site) and lose your funds if you're not careful. However, if you still want to try a web wallet, you might consider Bitamp Wallet as an alternative. Bitamp is a user-friendly, open-source Bitcoin wallet that operates on the client-side and supports both legacy and newer addresses. You can find more information about Bitamp at the following link: https://www.bitamp.com/ or in their ANN thread.

While desktop wallets like Electrum are generally considered to be a more secure option, it sounds like using one may not be feasible for you at this time. In this case, a web wallet could be a good alternative for your needs. With a web wallet, you can easily generate a legacy address to receive funds from the casino and then transfer them to an exchange with just a few clicks.

Edit:
It looks like you have been able to get the Electrum wallet set up and running. If you want to receive funds, you can go to the Receive Tab and create a new Request. When prompted, make sure to select "Address" rather than "URI" in the options provided. Once you have done that, you should see your BTC address displayed in the window on the right. This address will start with "1" and can be used to receive funds.
1344  Economy / Reputation / Re: 'Bitcointalk forum is going downhill because of dkbit98' - CoinPayCard.net on: December 31, 2022, 10:26:12 PM
Can someone please translate and explain to me what writer wanted to say?

I, and my robotic friend who knows a lot about these things, will try to help you. Here you go:

Quote from: CoinPayCard.net
You seem to be deluded, in my opinion. I have already clearly answered your question in this topic: shorturl.at/mxELN Your question had nothing to do with the service we provide.

As you mentioned in your private message, you requested to test our cards for free. If you had given us time, we would have responded to your request. However, you have been posting random things and giving neutral (negative) feedback without any basis. It is unfortunate, because based on your comments on this platform, it seems that you do this a lot. In my estimation, 90% of your comments do not contribute any value to this forum, and I believe that users like you are causing this forum to decline. Your tendency to ask the same questions repeatedly and make unfounded opinions without doing any research is causing companies to view this forum as an inappropriate place to advertise.

It is important to question things, but when you are not satisfied with the answer given, it is not productive to continue ranting about unrelated topics.

On the other hand, 90% of the users here are great, providing valuable opinions or asking well-researched questions.

Did you get it now? Cheesy

Sorry everyone for being so strong to bring down this forum with my 10% evil fellow members.
I hope things will be better for good companies in 2023, and they don't have to answer any questions at all.

Oh no, it is a shame that good companies have to suffer because of users like you, who ask so many pesky questions. How do you not know that they should be able to do whatever they want without any accountability or scrutiny?  Grin
1345  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What advice can you give to newbie here? on: December 30, 2022, 07:29:31 PM
What are the things needed to know here as a newbie?

Hey there newbie. Welcome to the forum!  Wink

Here are a few things that, in my opinion, are important to keep in mind:
  • Make sure to read up on the forum's rules and guidelines to avoid any mishaps or issues.
Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ
  • Before posting a new question, check to see if it is already been addressed. This can save you time and help you find the information you need more quickly.
    [Guide] Searching effectively
  • Avoid spamming and plagiarizing on the forum. Instead, try to contribute meaningful and unique content to the conversation.
  • As with any online community, it's important to be kind and respectful towards others. This means using appropriate language and avoiding aggressive or confrontational behavior.
1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most newbies don't know this on: December 30, 2022, 07:07:24 PM
I just found out that even if you open 100 ETH addresses using Metamask, once your key is been compromised all the 100 ETH addresses are gone, but in case of Trust wallet each addresses has different recovery seed ..

A recovery seed and a private key are not the same thing. It is possible that this was just a typo, but it is important to clarify the distinction between these two terms.

A recovery seed, also known as a seed phrase or mnemonic phrase, is a series of words that are used to restore access to a cryptocurrency wallet. It is essentially a backup of your wallet and can be used to regain access to your funds if you lose your password or you accidentally delete your wallet.

On the other hand, a private key is a unique, secret code that is used to authorize transactions on the blockchain. And, as far as I know, each ETH address has its own unique private key.

It is important to keep both of these pieces of information secure and private, as anyone who has access to them could potentially gain access to your funds. But, it is also important to note that if you lose one private key, it will not compromise all other addresses of your wallet. Therefore, your statement above is incorrect.
1347  Other / Meta / Re: This forum will need explicit rules on the use of AI. on: December 30, 2022, 05:27:00 PM
Question is, where does the AI get it's ideas/ content from?
If we see a someone praising bitcoin and LN to later find out it was AI, who's ideas was posted?

A forum's community needs genuine discussions, what if I used the AI but didn't really agreed with the results but posted it anyways to eaither. e.g., farm merits or earn easy sig money? the spirit of humanity will be lost if that happens.

If people are just pretending to agree or disagree with something they read by copying the replies of an AI, they are basically just faking it until they make it. And that is not exactly the best way to build a genuine community, is it? It is like trying to win a game of poker with a deck of all jokers. Sure, you might get lucky and fool someone for a while, but eventually, your bluff will be called. So let us all agree to just be real with each other and let us celebrate and embrace our individual differences, and create a space where we can all feel valued and special, like a royal flush!
1348  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pele, the greatest footballer of all time is dead at 82 on: December 29, 2022, 10:52:24 PM
Pele was certainly a legend in the world of football and his contributions to the sport will not be forgotten. It is understandable to feel a sense of sadness and loss when a public figure or someone we admire passes away. He was an amazing player and a great man. Pele's influence extended beyond the football as well. He was a role model and ambassador for the sport, and he used his platform to promote social causes and charitable causes. He will certainly be missed by the football community and beyond. RIP
1349  Other / Meta / Re: Is it only me? Clouldflare on: December 29, 2022, 10:39:27 PM
One problem with anti-bot checks, such as those provided by Cloudflare, is that they can be intrusive and disrupt the browsing experience for users. This can be especially problematic for users that are on older devices or on a slow connection. It is understandable that websites want to protect themselves from bot attacks, but it is also important to consider the user experience for legitimate visitors. So I think it may be helpful for administrators to review and optimize their anti-bot measures to minimize the impact on users.
1350  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid running into financial ruin this Christmas! on: December 29, 2022, 10:11:14 PM

You're right, it's never too late to keep starting over after all the spending he's spent on. Because celebrations to seek pleasure need to be done but with sufficient portions. If it's already done, let it pass, and in the future what needs to be done is to always control finances by minimizing waste. There are still many holidays to come, if you only spend them for one day it will be quite difficult to manage your finances the next day.

I agree. It is always a good idea to keep an eye on our finances, especially during the holiday season when it's so easy to get carried away with all the celebrations and gift-giving. I do not know about you, but I find that the holidays are a time when my spending can get out of control. There are parties and events to attend, gifts to buy and wrap, food to prepare and share, and it is very easy to go over budget! But as you pointed out, moderation is key. After all, there are plenty more holidays to come, and we do not want to start the new year feeling financially stressed.
1351  Other / Meta / Re: This forum will need explicit rules on the use of AI. on: December 29, 2022, 08:44:34 PM
It all depends on how and where the AI-generated content is being used. If you are posting AI-generated content and pretending it is your own original work, then you are committing plagiarism. Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's work as your own without proper attribution. But, if you are using AI as a tool to help you develop and improve your own original text, then I do not think it is considered plagiarism. For example, Google Translate is an example of AI-generated content, and grammar checkers like Grammarly rely on AI to generate content. It is hard to make a clear distinction between these modern tools and define what is allowed in the forum and what is not in a clear-cut manner.
1352  Other / Meta / Re: Undo and Redo Symbols on the Standard Tools Bar in BTT on: December 29, 2022, 08:14:56 PM
Base on the Subject, I have lost words, phrases, Clauses and sentences because I have not seen undo sign to reverse back the lost typographs or words. So I am trying to know if there is any symbol or tool for me to click to bring back the lost words. Specifically for phone. Because for laptop or desktop, You can press Ctrl + Z to bring back the mistakenly deleted words on the typing interface of bitcointalk but for phone, I have not seen such features, probably I don't know where it is, so if you know it, show it to me.

The ability to undo actions is a feature that is specific to individual applications, rather than being a part of the operating system itself. In Windows (or other desktop operating systems), the Ctrl-z keyboard shortcut is a common way to invoke the undo function, but this can vary depending on the specific app or website you are using.

Sometimes it pains me when I suffered to type a very good thread and mistakenly refreshed the page, or clicked delete and everything that I have suffered to type were wipeout. With the anger in me I left the topic.

Let bring this feature  to the tools bar in the typing interface.

Use the Preview function instead. Every time you use the preview function, a copy of your post will be saved to your draft folder, which you can access here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts
1353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: withdrawing bitcoin - newbie - advice welcome on: December 29, 2022, 07:43:39 PM
Stalker - so, what youve said, seems ok...'they' send my the bitcoin.

SO...once..i have that in my 'desktop' wallet...its there...it cannot be taken off me by casino etc?    casino part is done..they correctly paid me the bitcoin ( assuming no high hidden charges for privledge ).

Yes. Once you have bitcoin in your wallet, it is yours  to spend or transfer as you see fit, and no one can take it away from you. There are some fringe cases where hackers or malware attacks can potentially gain access to your wallet, but I don't want to go into too much detail here. The most important thing is that you keep your private keys or backup seed phrases for your wallet secured from unwanted access.

Quote
So, this casino is in Euro...paying on mastercard transfers via dollers or whatever - to be honest - conversation rate -  Yen anyone!

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to say here.

Quote
SO...once i have bitcoin in my wallet....i can then shop around / or look for a way to then get it into my bank account.

Yes. Once you have bitcoin in your wallet, you can use it to buy products and services from any company that accepts the cryptocurrency, or you can send it to a bitcoin exchange like Coinbase or Binance and then withdraw fiat currency into your bank account. Most bitcoin exchanges are only available in certain countries, so check to see if yours is supported before opening an account with them.

Quote
For example Danska bank do not deal with bitcoin ( in the headline blurb at least ) , does my 'wallet' transfer that across?

Bitcoin is a decentralized system, so your wallet does not rely on any central banks or government institutions. That means your bitcoins are yours, and only yours, to spend as you like!

Quote
Worse case i lose what..well..is mine...but give it a go?  dip toe in...so long as follow a few simple steps ( this is not simple at all ) .

But thanks once again for the time and replies.

No problem, happy to help. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to ask.
1354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: withdrawing bitcoin - newbie - advice welcome on: December 28, 2022, 11:10:59 PM
Im hoping its simplier than it all sounds to be honest.

I can certainly understand how all this may be confusing to someone new to cryptocurrencies. We have all been there at some point! Take your time and get things right. If you have any concerns along the way, ask for clarification before proceeding further.

As others have already said, you will need a Bitcoin wallet to get started. A Bitcoin wallet is a software program that allows you to send and receive Bitcoin. There are many different types of wallets available, ranging from mobile wallets that can be installed on your smartphone, to desktop wallets that can be installed on your computer. There are also hardware wallets that can be plugged into your computer and act as another layer of security for your Bitcoin. To get a Bitcoin wallet, you can visit bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet and select the type of wallet that you want to install. The website will show you a list of wallets that are compatible with your operating system, and you can then download one of them onto your computer or mobile device.

Once you have installed the software and created a Bitcoin wallet (by following instructions carefully step-by-step) and familiarized yourself with the basic functions of the software, you will need to provide your Bitcoin address to the person or entity that wants to send you a payment. Your Bitcoin address is a long string of letters and numbers that acts as a unique identifier for your wallet. You can find your Bitcoin address by going to the "Receive" section of your wallet.

To receive a Bitcoin payment, the sender will need to send the payment to your Bitcoin address. You can then check your wallet to see the incoming payment and confirm that it has been received.

Hello there?
As a brand-new member of this community, I am really happy to have found it and eager to meet new individuals who can inform me about Bitcointalk.org.

Hello and welcome to the community!  It is always exciting to meet new people and engage in meaningful conversations, so do not be afraid to jump right in and get involved.

As they say, "a single drop of water cannot make an ocean," I am eager to learn from anybody who is willing to help a brother and expose me to this platform. I recently joined Bitcointalk.org and now I realize there are many things to comprehend on this topic that I can't achieve on my own.

Bitcointalk.org is an online forum where people who are interested in Bitcoin can share their thoughts on the cryptocurrency and it is a great resource for learning. When you join the community as a new member, you can learn from more experienced members and share your own insights to the community. With so many different threads, there are plenty of discussions to be had and you can easily find one that interests you. The more you participate, the more you will get out of the experience. Good luck!
1356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Fools Gold on: December 28, 2022, 09:59:58 PM
OP, do not let the bear market keep you down, but rather use it to its advantage by investing into something worthwhile. If you are an investor, this is one of the best time to invest because prices have been dropping over a long period of time, and now you have many tokens with low price. Markets go in cycles, with peaks and valleys. The only thing that is certain is that markets will not stay down forever. We can make the most of this situation by not being greedy, learning to hold on to our coins and invest in more promising coins.

What I want to know is, the quality of your posts makes it clear that you are not new to the forum.  So why do you need to create a new account to post on the forum?

He has every right to do so. Alternative accounts are allowed on the forum.

I am sure you have multiple accounts.

I'm pretty sure you have multiple accounts too. So what is your point?
1358  Economy / Reputation / Re: This 2 account Connected on: December 26, 2022, 06:46:57 PM
Sir I made a mistake.  If people express their wishes from the gallows, the conditions are taken to fulfill them.

Your posts are hard to understand because they do not seem to make sense. Could you please try to use proper English so that your message is clearer and more understandable?

In this case I want to give me you all a chance.  Of course I demand this opportunity, give me a chance.

So, you want another chance? Well, you were caught in multiaccounting and cheating in bounty campaigns years ago. How many more chances do you need?

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals!

LOL! I remember this scene, but not from the original movie but from "Home Alone".  Smiley
Little off-topic, but I couldn't resist from posting Smiley. Actually, there is no original movie, this scene was filmed specially for Home Alone. Once I wanted to find this movie and watch, but only found this infromation Cheesy.

Seriously? I did not know that. The line has become a popular catchphrase but I always thought it was from some old black and white movie, but popularized by Kevin from Home Alone. Thanks for this info.  Cheesy
