1341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 06, 2023, 04:46:58 PM
I agree with you that AI is improving its skills and algorithms every day. But they are just algorithms. The AI does not take into account the mood of the athletes, their injuries, their physical and mental condition. If you bet on sports, you must take these and many other parameters into account. AI is not able to do that, unlike humans.
Yes, you are actually right on that very statement of yours, because I just tried testing if ChatGPT if it can predict future outcome of a football match, and the A.I supply told that it beyond it's power to predict future event or the correct score of a football match, as there are many factors that might affect it's outcome, such as what you mention above (I.e injuries, team performance & weather e.t.c).

Quote
I'm sorry, but as an AI language model, I am not able to predict the future or provide specific scores for sporting events. Sports matches are unpredictable and can be influenced by various factors such as team performance, injuries, weather, and many other variables. It's best to watch the game and see how it unfolds.

Source: ChatGPT
This is a clear explanation that AI has nothing to do with sportsbetting predictions as it’s already beyond its power, unlike a human mind who can always have limitless thinking and predictions with regards to different factors that will affect the outcome of the game. Even in slots and other casino games, those games are always unpredictable so AI won’t still be helpful about that, the only thing that casinos are predictable is when it comes to the house will always win over its players.
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Gambling earn someone a living on: March 06, 2023, 04:26:01 PM
~snip~
So my question now is that can someone use gambling as a means of earning living?

Gambling and living certainly makes sense for those who own such companies, because the house always wins, and those who play mostly lose, even when they sometimes win. A man who would decide to live by gambling without cheating would actually decide on a life in which his fate depends on whether the roulette will be black or red - even or odd, or how the dice will turn.

One type of gambling where you still have slightly better odds if you play smart is sports betting, but that's another story.
Right. Gambling can make someone earn a living if he is making it as a business, like owning a casino or starting a bookie as they will always be profitable as the house has always an edge over the players. But it takes a sufficient amount of capital before starting businesses like these. However, if you are just a regular gambler and would want to make it as a source of living, then it’s certainly not a good decision. Gambling is to lose your money most of the time, and not to make personal gains.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 05, 2023, 09:56:13 PM
I'm not going to argue with that one because as always, whether we like it or not, people will always find a way to criticize you even if your motive was not to brag as I believe that OP's only intention was just to share what he had experienced recently. We couldn't blame him for that as the OP was just happy.
That's so true.

Even if somebody really wants to share it without bad intention, there will be critics that would tell about what they think of it as a critic and not to encourage others.

That's okay and sometimes I'm also like that person even if there's the good intention of just sharing of what has happened even if it's just a good experience.
You cannot please everyone so whether your intention is good, there will always be negative criticisms coming from the people and worst is, you cannot stop them from doing that. However, I don’t see OP is bragging here. He just want to share about his big winnings using this kind of strategy. But even so, I believe he really had the best luck that time that’s why he won such a huge amount.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 05:40:13 PM
If you made a billion dollars or even more, as someone who love gambling/betting and have been doing this on several other casinos for many years now, would you rather start your own casino?

I think that if one makes his own casino.. may spoil the fun of it. Or, at least, would not play at his casino (and then it's two unrelated things).

Having/managing a casino is not necessarily for a gambler. It's for somebody who knows to handle all the legal things, all the software and security issues. Gambler(s) can be asked for opinion now and then in order to spice up the games. But the rest is more management than gambler-mind business.

Even more, a gambler may take unnecessary risks with his business (eg start with too low bankroll and risk not having money to pay the winnings at start, especially as the start is more expensive due to increased advertising and bonuses), so he can doom the business before properly starting it. Not a good mix.
Building a gambling casino is never easy. You can be a good and profitable gambler but that won’t be enough basis that you will also be a trusted casino owner. You should be more of a businessman than a gambler alone, and that you should be aware on how to grow a casino business and make it work and become on top of other casinos through the years. However, I only prefer to have just fun and gamble when I want to, and have no plans to live a stressful life no matter how profitable that kind of business is. So for me, I just want to gamble and never dream of becoming a gambling casino owner.

1345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambler has 100% trust in each stake on: March 05, 2023, 05:13:37 PM

My question now is, As a gambler would you give 100% to a stake that you trust?

If you are putting money on a team and think that they can win, then you put 100% on them. But the question is, can they really win the game? what if there are circumstances like injuries during that game that made them lose?

Or even if the odds are high for them to lose, suddenly they play very bad?

So as much money as you put in them, it's not going to be 100% sure that they are going to win.
Sometimes, what you see that is too good to be true seems a failure in the end. In gambling, you cannot expect for the best team or player to be always winning, they are also bound to lose especially if there are sudden circumstances that are not expected to happen. The reason why gamblers should never trust the player 100%, otherwise they will lose all their funds and leave with regrets. However, some gamblers still have this mindset and expect that they will always win because they are betting on the favorite player or team, and when they lose, they eventually realize that gambling is never certain and will always be unpredictable.
1346  Economy / Gambling / Re: who to trust in gambling sites? on: March 05, 2023, 04:38:21 PM

There's always a risk if you want to play in small casino, shit can happen even though you've analyzed and think the site wouldn't scam you.
There is even a big risk if you choose to play in a small casino.
After all, small casinos are casinos that many gamblers are definitely not interested in.
The thing that is most feared by playing in a small casino is when gamblers get a large number of wins and they don't pay for the win because the amount of funds stored in the bankroll is insufficient so they choose to leave without paying anything.
This risk is rarely encountered, but as gamblers we must always be careful.
Small casinos usually put a maximum table limits, so if you go beyond the limits, then expect that you will never receive your winning funds. That’s the reason why high rollers never gamble at a small casino, but they prefer to play at big and reputable casinos so that if they got lucky and win, they can always withdraw their funds without delays. The problem with small casinos, aside from they limit your winning chances, there are also high chances that these casinos are not reliable since they have not build yet their good reputation from different gamblers.
1347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers meet? on: March 05, 2023, 04:10:09 PM
Hi, as I said in the title, Do you know any telegram group where a lot of gamblers from the biggest casinos are discussing each other? If you are in some such group please share them here. I believe there are some groups but I can not find them, unfortunately Smiley. Thank you
If you cannot get any credible gathering of gamblers on telegram, I think you can also consider starting your own. Some other people here in this forum and elsewhere may be interested in joining this kind of group and maybe have been searching to find one but still have not. An extra advantage for you who starts is that you can vet the group and be confident in its credibility. There are a lot of dubious telegram groups theses days, starting your own ensures that you are in the right place. You may start small, but with time you will increase.
Your idea is great. I have been into gambling for years but I have never seen or been engaged into a reliable gambling group, because tbh that was not also my priority. But if ever we can create a credible group with common interest in gambling, then I think that will also give us an advantage that we can be updated about gambling events from time to time. This will also save my time from researching all over the internet about certain events in gambling.
1348  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotion and Trade? on: March 04, 2023, 09:59:10 PM
While emotional control is great, you can have top-tier emotional control over your trades but in the end you're still a bad a trader if you don't know how to trade in the first place.
Exactly. You can be a good trader if you can manage to control your own emotions when trading, but controlling emotions alone will never guarantee the success of trading. You have to know and understand how to be successful in trading, and that will only be achieved if you have the knowledge and experience, developed skills and working strategies, and of course emotions control when you start trading.
1349  Economy / Economics / Re: forget about value investing, you are not the house, you cannot win. on: March 04, 2023, 09:39:53 PM
Don’t you think that having that kind of mindset in which you are blaming the young ones looking up to someone who has proven and shown credibility with his wealth is wrong?

I see it mostly negative with your view and you don’t even suggest anything else. There are also some people who have been successful with the following him, so I guess it has something to do with luck as well.

How can young people or even me and you be a house to win don’t you see something valuable and believe that it is like bitcoin and if you believe in that value in which bitcoin offers don’t you think that it is the same as the principle of the value investing?
If you stick to this negative mindset, then you will never be successful in any type of investment you want to venture. Remember that investments have their own risk and they cannot guarantee profit taking all the time, it’s a matter of winning and losing actually like how you win and lose from gambling. But you can always increase the chance of winning if you invest in those investments with high potentials to succeed and those who have been proven profitable by a lot of successful investor. And always understand what you are investing in the first place, so you will never fall on wrong decision making that will eventually lead to an investment failure.
1350  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Misinformation about crypto (bitcoin). on: March 04, 2023, 09:16:58 PM
Although many governments have been regulate Bitcoin and there's few countries already accept Bitcoin as a legal tender, it do increase newbie or someone who haven't invest in Bitcoin will think Bitcoin is safe. But actually the purpose of Bitcoin is being used as a currency without need help of central entity as the third party between the relation of the sender and the receiver.
Bitcoin is originally designed to be a currency that can serve as an alternative to the country’s official currency. But while it’s not yet globally accepted, bitcoin becomes a good investment for now. However, investing in bitcoin has its own high risk. You won’t make it profitable unless you have the knowledge and experience on how to do grow your bitcoin investment. Otherwise, you might only be buying it at a low price, and sell it at an even affordable price due to panic selling because you can’t understand how the crypto market works.
1351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: March 04, 2023, 08:59:06 PM
Then bitcoin will move to the deepweb-ish market. Pretty much like selling digital drugs.

Will I be negatively affected? Sure, but I'll be totally fine in the grand scheme of things. This is why no one should go 100% invested in bitcoin or in any asset at all, because of potential unforeseen circumstances.
Banning is never a new thing for us. So if ever if bitcoin will be totally banned all over the world, then maybe we should start seeing bitcoin shutting down and leaving us with no choice but to accept it. That’s why we should always invest only with our spare money that is not intended to pay our mortgage or any bills, so that once it’s gone, we will never be totally frustrated in the end. And we should never rely on bitcoin as our main source of living, make it as a side hustle and get a real job.
1352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 04, 2023, 08:44:13 PM

We know gold is very precious metal, but Bitcoin is much more expensive than gold. Bitcoin will cross $100k after halving in 2024 ie if I invest $3000 in Bitcoin now then there is a chance of getting 10x after 2024. If I get $30000 from investing $3000, nothing can be as valuable as Bitcoin. I explained this formula to my wife at night and she was not willing to give me her jewelery at first but today she told me by herself that you can sell my jewelery and invest in Bitcoin. At present I am forced to sell my wife's jewelery as I have no fiat money.
I seek advice from expert investors/holders/users of this forum,,,,
whether selling my wife's jewelery and investing on bitcoins makes sense?
Is it reasonable to invest in gold rather than bitcoin?
It will be more reasonable if you invest both in gold and bitcoin. But selling one’s investment for the sake of bitcoin, I think I won’t agree with that especially that what you want to invest does not guarantee secure profits because of its high volatility. My advice is to keep your wife’s jewelry. You can still invest in bitcoin later on when the price drops again as it would be a good market entry. For now, just save for your capital first and never invest an amount what you can’t afford to lose.
1353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the easiest way to explain bitcoin to a regular person? on: March 03, 2023, 09:59:11 PM
An ordinary person should have at least some knowledge of what the Internet is. Sometimes even that becomes a problem. But fortunately, there are fewer and fewer such people every year, and if people can read, then the network is full of resources for different levels of understanding. I don't think you need to explain anything yourself from the very beginning. Let the person first understand that he needs it, and after reading some of the resources that advise him on education, he should definitely have questions that you, OP, can explain in detail.
For me, this is the simplest and most resource-intensive process, since there is nothing difficult about self-education; you just need to support a person along this path.
That could work too as people nowadays have become smarter since everything they want to learn are already laid out on the internet, its just a matter of due diligence so they can find the valuable information they are looking. And when they have queries, then we can assist them and lead them to the right answer. But most of all, let them develop first the virtue of patience and hardwork as they can can still never survive investing in bitcoin if they only have knowledge alone without good virtues that are keys to success too.
1354  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have any financial regrets ? on: March 03, 2023, 09:12:26 PM
I have a lot of financial regrets and just like yours, most of it are investment opportunities that I saw before and was doubting if I should buy or not. In the end, I didn't because if I did, I may have just been living in luxury today.
We don't really have to go that far in picking one of the biggest financial regrets in our life. BITCOIN! A very long follower and yet I was always late when I try to buy. It's not really like a regret but more of getting the courage. I should've taken a loan from the bank and bought it with Bitcoin while its price is at 3 digits. But because there's so much FUD that circling around, I was afraid to take the leap.
You are not alone in your bitcoin regrets. A lot of us have missed the opportunity of buying it while it was still very cheap. We could have been millionaires today. But lets not dwell on it anymore as it won't be helpful for us to grow in the future. Like OP, don't be bothered anymore on what you have not bought in the past. Learn and invest in bitcoin, Im sure this will lead you to a lot of bigger opportunities once you succeeded from it.
1355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Willing to invest on bitcoin but having some challenges. on: March 03, 2023, 01:33:06 PM
How have you been making money so far? If you can earn through work, you can set aside a small amount of your salary to buy bitcoins when you are off the island, in places that provide internet, or at your friend's house.

This is a challenge for you and I'm sure you can try to beat that challenge to get a better future. Don't make this an obstacle; instead, this is the path you must go through because the process is like this. Keep believing that you can, even though there are challenges like this.
You don’t have to keep online all the time so you can invest in bitcoin. Just increase your knowledge first about bitcoin and crypto community whenever you have time to search on the internet, or download them so you can still continue learning offline. And if you are really willing to take the risk, then start saving some spare money from your present job and buy a portion of bitcoin whenever you have available funds. You can do it even at your neighbor’s house or when you go to a place where internet is available. That way, once you succeed from your bitcoin investment, you can pay for the installation of electricity and continue on your bitcoin journey.
1356  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Set your mind on your goals and nothing else on: March 03, 2023, 12:41:33 PM
Family will always be family so whatever misunderstandings you had before, forget it and instead help them so they can also live a good life. However, in the case of your friends, I don’t think they become unsupportive to you, maybe they don’t just like the idea about crypto so they will never encourage you to embrace crypto. But maybe in some aspects, they are there to support you so they are still your real friends after all.

Do not focus on hatred or revenge, instead learn to see the positive side that you are now capable to help them so never turn your back on them. Life is uncertain, you will never know if you will still be successful in the future or you might end up as a failure, so never hesitate to help when you are capable of helping others.
1357  Economy / Economics / Re: Would You Consider Adding Bitcoin to Your Retirement Savings on: March 02, 2023, 09:52:15 PM
As a bitcoin supporter, would you consider adding bitcoin to your retirement savings

The bitcoins I can put away are meant to become someday the bulk of my retirement savings. But that's the bitcoins I can earn and that I manage to not spend.
The rest of my retirement savings come from the old channels, from the stable day job (but I expect that to just barely keep me fed).

So if bitcoin goes to oblivion before I get to the retirement age, I won't remain 100% uncovered. However, the chances are small for that.
If bitcoin gets to new highs... I hope I'll have the chance for a decent life at old age.

But all that is really far. For now.. it's easier to just stack sats and don't think that far.
Bitcoin can be a great source for retirement especially if it’s value grows consistently, which means we can be sure of making our last days more memorable and valuable. But if it ends up the other way around, we will also suffer and dealing with it could be hard especially in our retirement days. The reason why we need to balance our retirement, we can invest in fiat as well as in bitcoin too. That way, we will never suffer and struggle in the end if ever one of them fails.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Loses $400K Bitcoin Bet on Jake Paul’s Bout on: March 02, 2023, 09:17:31 PM
Another huge loss become public.
it seems that the famous Canadian singer has made a bet on Jake Paul that turned to be wrong Sad
400K USD has been wasted. It seems isn't the first time some public bets result in a loss ...

here more details:
https://news.bitcoin.com/rap-star-drake-loses-400000-bitcoin-bet-on-jake-paul-in-split-decision-loss-to-tommy-fury/

what lessons can be learned by this event?

Gambling moves with uncertainties. Even with highly anticipated winners still end up losers in the end, so if we can bet, then we should only do it not crossing our budget limit so that losing will never be too hard to accept. However, Drake is still a responsible gambler I guess as even if he loses that much, I can say that he’s not terrified after all knowing what he lose is nothing to what he gain in real life. And maybe if I’m with the shoe of Drake, I will also do that as long as I can manage all of my losses as well.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 27, 2023, 08:04:40 PM
Yep, that's how he evolved after his very first close against Nonito, he has evolved even more after that. He learn how to phase and then read his opponent and even have the mentality to survived a fight eve if he has that injury already.

And we all know after that fight, he beat Donaire by knockout and same with Butler.

So he is still getting stronger and smarter in any fight and keeps on progressing. So for sure he will know a thing or two against Fulton because he is a great fighter. Inoue has that ability to absorb every strengths of his opponents.
Inoue is on his prime and that makes him an incredibly dangerous fighter, not only he has the intelligence and skill to adjust his fighting style, he still has the physical capabilities to absorb a massive amount of damage and do whatever he wants on the ring, so it is not surprising that despite being the challenger the many different boxing fans around the world think of him as the favorite on his fight against Fulton.
Inoue is not just an ordinary professional boxer, as he can be the monster in the ring and possess a ferocious punching power that makes him strong and a dangerous opponent. The reason why Fulton should better show his best shot when the match begins, otherwise he might experience some brutal body blows from his opponent that will make Inoue defeat him inside the ring.
1360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Caleb Plant vs David Benavidez on: February 27, 2023, 07:41:31 PM
I urge you to watch the kick off press conference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvz6ai6ZqFU

Hehehe, it was very heated, Benavidez mouth was running and trash talking the hell out of Caleb Plant.

It was very intense that they can go fighting in that podium. Maybe Caleb hit it on the mark when he says that Benavidez has issues before like not making weight and the drugs that's why he is so furious and continue to attack Caleb verbally.

But in any case it's already living to the hype in their first press conference.

Obviously, Benavidez hates Caleb Plant there's too much disrespect for Caleb Plant, I consider Benavidez a better fighter but I want Plant to knock him out, Benavidez is too brazen its understandable because the drug issue is very sensitive for Benavidez, this is just the first conference I expect the thrash talks to be more heated and they may even have a brawl if Caleb keeps hitting him.
Thrashtalks like this with both fighters hating each other are good for the preparation of the fight night.

I would agree that maybe Benavidez went overboard here, there's so much hate and disrespect, you can actually feel it when watch the pressere.

So by now it's hard to like the personality of Benavidez and his father, and remember that this is the just the first press conference, just wait till the face off and maybe we will see another Canelo vs Plant action hehehe. Let's see if Benavidez can back up all his trash talking, we know that he has the tools though, but Caleb after this, might be fueling inside and wanted to punch that big mouth of David.
You’re right. Plant must have been disrespected so much that he’s eagerness to fight back Benavidez has completely reach the highest level. Well, this is a good motivation either to finally become one of the toughest boxer as his opponent is always tough and hard to beat inside the ring. But I still believe trash talking never make them great at all, unless if Benavidez can prove all his words against Plant and he can prove to anyone that he can dominate Plant inside the ring.
