1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Types Newbies Should know About on: December 25, 2022, 07:55:09 PM
Indeed. These are some of the most popular types of bets that are commonly offered at sportsbooks. Here's another one:

  • Futures bet: This is a bet on the outcome of a future event, such as which team will win the championship in a particular league. For example: Super Bowl or World Series. Futures bets are often made before the event takes place and the odds can change as the event approaches.
1362  Economy / Gambling / Re: making 500-1000usd daily in poker must read i need a partner! on: December 25, 2022, 11:15:06 AM
Sorry OP, but I am not falling for it. Your offer to reveal a supposed money-making poker method in exchange for money reeks of a scam and raises more red flags than a Soviet May Day parade. If you truly had a reliable way to earn money through poker, why are you in debt? I think it is best to steer clear of such sketchy proposals.

1363  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flag on a supposed Poker Player on: December 25, 2022, 11:04:36 AM
"Beware: sending funds to this individual may result in financial loss."

I stand with the flag and trust feedback in warning others. A newbie asking for money for his gambling expertise is a sure sign of a fraudulent scheme. It is ridiculous to think that someone who claims to have a foolproof method of winning at poker, yet is in debt, could be trusted.

1364  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How come people spend days here? on: December 25, 2022, 12:27:40 AM
Bitcoin is a subject that I personally find very interesting. It is a revolutionary idea; it continues to develop and evolve in intriguing ways. The technology is young, but it is well on its way towards widespread adoption. So, if you are interested in joining a community of people who care about money, Bitcoin, and the future of currency, this forum is where you will find them. It is no wonder that so many people point newbies here for advice, because there really is no better resource available. I am not advocating that you should drop whatever it is you're doing and get involved with Bitcoin, but I am saying that if you are interested in learning more about this technology, it is hard to find a better place than this forum.
1365  Economy / Economics / Re: Avoid running into financial ruin this Christmas! on: December 24, 2022, 10:34:55 PM
Well, I think it is too late for such advice now. Everyone who wanted to spend money on Christmas has already done so, since it is getting close to Christmas around the world. But hey, at least we can all learn from our mistakes and make a plan to have a more financially responsible holiday season next year!

Merry Christmas to you too!
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Free crypto possible ? Or impossible? on: December 24, 2022, 10:27:23 PM
Where I come from free usually means worthless. Would you be interested in worthless crypto coins and tokens? Of course not. You want something that has real value and can be used for something, right? Well, that is the same thing when it comes to free cryptocurrency airdrops. They are not worth much because there are so many of them out there and they do not have any real value.
1367  Economy / Reputation / Re: Members Asking For Neutral Trust To Be Removed on: December 24, 2022, 02:09:25 PM
In my case I have recently received PMs regarding neutral feedbacks only but have any of you recently received similar PMs asking for either negative or neutral trust to be removed by those that you left them for?

I have never received a PM request for my opinion on a neutral feedback, and as for the negative, I agree with what LoyceV said. It is better to discuss such things publicly, so I always refer to a relevant topic where the defendant can complain if he wants to. I have received PMs from some people asking for my opinion on neutral feedback posts, and I always respond with my thoughts. I do not mind public discussion, but in some cases it is better to avoid any potential conflict by PMing each other directly.

JollyGood, I noticed that you mentioned a particular signature campaign. Could you share publicly which campaign it is about and which members specifically contacted you? It is possible that the signature campaign manager made this a requirement, though I have never seen such requirements before.
1368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: December 23, 2022, 10:36:00 PM
There are many reasons why people might sell their valuable assets, including bitcoin. For example:

- Needing to liquidate some assets in order to pay off debts or purchase something important; or to meet other financial obligations.

- Someone might decide to sell their assets due to changes in their personal circumstances, such as a change in their financial situation, or a change in their interests or priorities.

- An investor may choose to sell assets if he believes the value is likely to fall or wants to take advantage of a hot market.

- Someone may decide to sell assets in order to diversify their portfolio and spread risk across multiple investments.

In the end, the decision to sell your precious possessions is a highly personal one, and should be based on your unique circumstances and financial goals. It's crucial to weigh the pros and cons of selling your assets and to seek out expert financial advice if you have any doubts or concerns. Or, you know, you could just flip a coin. That is always a solid investment strategy.  Wink
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should your wife or husband know your seed phrase? on: December 22, 2022, 10:27:42 PM
It is generally a good idea for both spouses to be aware of and have access to each other's important financial information, including cryptocurrency wallets. A well-executed estate plan can help ensure that spouses are able to access and manage their assets in the event of an unforeseen circumstance, such as illness or injury. It is also important to keep your wallet seed phrase secure and confidential, as it is the key to accessing your cryptocurrency wallet and the funds it holds. You should never share your seed phrase with anyone you do not trust, even if it is your spouse.

Ultimately, it is up to you whether or not you want to share your wallet seed phrase with your spouse or other trusted individuals. It is important to carefully weigh the risks and benefits and make a decision that is best for you and your family.
1370  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: December 22, 2022, 10:09:37 PM
Could the entire crypto market ever be a scam?
~

Cryptocurrencies are based on blockchain technology, which is a decentralized and secure way of storing and transferring data. Many cryptocurrency projects have strong communities and transparent development processes, which adds to their credibility. Additionally, the market for cryptocurrencies is highly competitive, with many different projects vying for attention and adoption. It is unlikely that all of these projects would be able to sustain a scam for a long period of time without being detected, and this is especially true in the case of Bitcoin. The Bitcoin community is also very large and active, with many people monitoring the project and its developers. Any major changes to the Bitcoin protocol are highly publicized, and any suspicious activity would be quickly noticed by the community. The chances of a scam being successful are extremely low, and Bitcoin has been running for over 12 years now without any major issues.
1371  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are you here? on: December 21, 2022, 10:54:41 PM
As I remember, I came to learn more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency through the recommendation of a friend. I had limited knowledge of the concept, so I was looking for sources of information that I could trust. Bitcointalk.org is a good resource for learning about the technical details of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, as well as staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry. The forum is a place where users can ask questions, share their thoughts and ideas, and engage with other users who are interested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. This can be a great way for newbies to learn more about the topic and get answers to their questions. This can also be a great opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals and potentially even collaborate on projects or business ventures.
1372  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why there are no cool games on: December 20, 2022, 10:27:50 PM
There are many reasons why online casinos may not offer games that allow players to bet against each other. Online casinos are businesses. As such, they need to generate revenue in order to stay in business. In traditional casino games, the house has an advantage over the players. This is known as the "house edge." By offering games where players bet against each other, a casino would not be able to take a cut of wagers and would not be able to generate revenue in the same way. The house edge is what makes online casinos profitable. In addition, many online casinos are simply not set up in a way that allows them to offer player-vs.-player games. The software they use may not be designed for this type of gameplay and may need to be modified before it can be used effectively.

1374  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reflective Trading Question on: December 20, 2022, 08:07:23 PM
It is certainly true that the cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin, has experienced significant volatility and a bear market this year. However, it is important to keep in mind that the cryptocurrency market is influenced by a variety of factors, including regulatory developments, market sentiment, and the general economic climate, all of which can impact the price.

Depending on what type of trader you are, this can be a good thing. For some traders, a bear market can present opportunities to buy crypto at lower prices with the expectation that the prices will eventually recover. In other words, even though most traders would not wish to experience a bear market while they are trading, they can actually still benefit from them.

That being said, it is important to prepare yourself for a brand new year in the cryptocurrency world by learning how market trends affect the price of your favorite coins. If you know what you're doing and plan accordingly, even the toughest bear markets can provide opportunities to buy low and sell high.
1375  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [ALERT] Returnyourcrypto.com: Scammers with fake testimonies on: December 20, 2022, 07:50:15 PM
I visited the site and here are the instructions they give on how to "refund" your money:

Quote
  • Contact us via Telegram or email.
  • Send us a scam token address, Number of scam tokens available, Date of purchase, and preferably a hash of the transaction.
  • Send us the received key.
  • We load the key and all the information received about the fraudulent token into the script we created
  • Our script interacts with a fraudulent smart contract and after that it becomes possible to unlock the possibility of exchanging coins and your money is returned to you.

By "received key" they actually mean the private key of your wallet. They even described how to export a private key from Metamask. The fact that they are asking you to hand over your private keys should be a major red flag. This should be enough to convince you that this is a scam.

All this mumble jumble only serves to trick victims into giving away their private keys, which then allows the scammer access to their entire wallet.

In any case since my vacations I already set a rule to delete all of his new incoming emails.

Honestly, the best thing to do is to ignore it. Do not respond to him. I do not know what his intent is in these posts, but if the guy is just trying to get under your skin, it is not worth provoking a confrontation over.

I think it would be a good idea to start documenting all of your interactions with him as well, especially given the nature of the messages. Consider speaking to a lawyer about your options. Remember that you are in charge - you do not have to deal with any of this if you do not want to.
1377  Other / Off-topic / Re: My story and where it is now..... on: December 19, 2022, 07:56:46 PM
yahoo62278, I am so sorry to hear about the surgery you are facing. Please know that I am sending you all my best wishes for a quick and full recovery. Your health and well-being are of the utmost importance. I believe in your strength and resilience, and I know you will get through this. Good luck!
1378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's been 2 months and now I am doing well.(I guess). on: December 18, 2022, 07:55:49 PM
Great news for the crypto community, it seems! We are slowly inching closer towards a future that is centralized less around fiat and more around digital currency. Anyhow, I wish you the best of luck with your business and everything you do to support it. It looks like a great opportunity for people who would like to spend their crypto without having to convert it to fiat. It is also a great incentive for others to try out. I am very optimistic about the future of crypto as a payment system for businesses that deal with any form of goods or services.
1379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 yrs ago today a legendary word was born !! on: December 18, 2022, 06:33:05 PM
It's pretty crazy to think that we have been using the term HODL since 2013, but I think that one topic is the craziest Bitcointalk topic ever!

"I AM HODLING" It is your 9th anniversary! Congratulations. Cheesy
1380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I be worried? on: December 18, 2022, 03:42:59 PM
I suggest that you don't waste your time chasing every project out there, just because the description uses some trendy buzzwords. Instead, choose a niche that you are passionate about and that you know something about. If you cannot say "I am not an expert but I want to learn about it" then it is probably not the right niche for you. AI has the potential to completely change our world, and with so many promising blockchain-based AI projects out there, it is easy to get swept up in the excitement. But do not let all that noise distract you from considering which ones have a legitimate chance of mass adoption. After all, if you cannot tell who the real experts are, how will you know which one to trust?
