1382  Economy / Securities / Re: [WS] Woodshares - A digital asset backed up by commercial timberlands (Colombia) on: April 17, 2015, 08:56:53 AM
I'm sorry but I just can't look at this without thinking of wood collector.

I have to ask but are you one and the same with him?

LOL! That's what I immediately thought as well, this looks interesting though I wish more dividend paying projects would crop up like this.
1383  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-14] Guardian: Paedophiles sell child abuse images for bitcoin on: April 17, 2015, 07:15:05 AM
I'd like to point out to people who may not have noticed, the guardian disabled comments for this particular article because of the inevitable backlash over this obvious bullshit, we know that there will be criminals using Bitcoin, but as usual the media is trying to create the narrative of "Bitcoin used by drug dealers/peadophiles/terrorists" to scare everyone from using it.
1384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why One Bitcoin Core Developer Thinks Cryptocurrencies Have A Dreadful Future on: April 17, 2015, 07:03:22 AM

He is a Core developer.... ffs ...if he jump ship, at the sight of the smallest wave, many will follow. Core developers are the captains of the ship, they should navigate us out of trouble or go down with the ship.

They have absolutely no obligation to do that, I think we all knew awhile back that special interests like the Bitcoin foundation among others would try to ruin Bitcoin and this is going to be part of what does it, I think the biggest trouble will happen if you ever have legislators trying to make changes to the code themselves at which point you can expect an immediate exodus.
1385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: IT is likely the first person who will live to be 1,000yo is already alive today on: April 17, 2015, 06:32:11 AM
That would be fantastic if it's true, especially if it has none of the drawbacks a lot of ideas to do with long life have.

Not sure if you want a Wilikon continually posting new threads for the next 1000 years though...

 Cool

LOL! Meh, if they get annoying there's always the ignore list like with everything, I expect I'd be just as bad and be annoying religious people for the next several hundred years if this really works.

While that's certainly true crypotocurrencies and the web provide many options if you're clever enough, Satoshi is a classic example which is why he used a pseudonym rather than a real name and why I use the username Lethn, I want people to be able to find me on the internet, but I don't want people to find my home and my family members.
1388  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tor has become childplay on: April 16, 2015, 10:23:50 AM
It's even easier to hide yourself if you have money.
1389  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can the Bitcoin Foundation best help Bitcoin? From New Exec Director on: April 15, 2015, 04:58:03 PM
Disband your organisation and stop taking other peoples' money.
1390  Other / Meta / Re: I think we should ban scammers and scam accusers on: April 15, 2015, 02:53:00 PM
You guys missed the point entirely, I find all of you spamming about this shit very annoying, the least you can do is keep it contained to one thread and make a list of people you don't like or something.
1391  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bitcoin Advertisement on Times Square New York City USA on: April 15, 2015, 02:40:36 PM
Why didn't you take a snapshot of it with your phone?
1392  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A Modest Proposal: Barack Obama Should Be Hillary Clinton's Running Mate on: April 15, 2015, 02:36:51 PM
There have been accusations flying around that she's been buying up Twitter and Facebook followers as well, it's pretty sad how everyone is acting like she's already won, elections are getting as annoying as Christmas with how intrusive and aggressive people are about it all.

I sit at my desk for eight hours, not daring to think about how many of those hours are realy productive and contributing to a better world. Why not pay me eight and let me work the time I realy need? The whole working economy is lie we tell ourselves.

That's precisely why the economies are crashing now, it isn't to do with wage income disparity as so many people claim though that is a symptom of the problem it's not the whole cause, it's the fact that the companies you work for don't do anything anymore and build on civilisation. That's happening all in the so called third world countries, China is out-producing almost every country in the world, I think they overtook America a lot earlier than American media cares to admit.

I don't disparage office work as I do quite a bit of it myself as you guys can probably tell Tongue but the stuff that genuinely affects peoples lives and creates products that people want to pay money for it is what people at the shop floors etc. and work benches are doing. The problem is, both the left and the right have equally demeaned these positions, the left say that the workers need the salaries and jobs of the managers and an annoying number in the right claim it's all about immigration and evil socialism.

Even if this poor guy cut his salary to $1 the rest of the economy is still fucked and his company will be out of clients this year because he relies on people that don't follow his business model, the best thing he could do is make sure he finds people to work for overseas because that's where all the money is now.

Are you a real anarchist? I don't believe you  Grin. See something about anarchism ....

LOL Anarchists bicker amongst themselves about who the 'real' Anarchists are, socialists/communists would tell you they're the real Anarchists and capitalists can't be Anarchists, I just consider Anarchism to be what it's described as, without rulers, as long as there's no hierarchy enforcing it's will on other people through violence I'd be pretty happy but that's pretty much all society is made up of right now.

By numbers and destruction they are not even close to most of the conquerors across history. The difference is in the information flow. We've heard only stories about the deeds of the romans, huns, mongolians, etc. This one is happening almost real-time in our living room thanks to the media coverage.

Exactly snail2, that's what I'm saying as well, it's far more shocking to see it all on unfold and that's how the Jihadists like it, they want to scare the fuck out of you, in the same way our own leaders use constant streams of information about murder and crime to scare the fuck out of all of us even though when you actually look at the statistics there haven't actually really been as many homicides etc. as they're making out to be.

If the world was really all that bad, we'd be screwed right now but that just shows you how much people are all turning on ISIS in the end.
1395  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO cuts his own salary by 90% to increase pay of every worker on: April 15, 2015, 01:03:53 PM
The sad thing is even if all CEO's did this it still wouldn't fix the biggest problem which is hyperinflation but good look getting people to take a look at things more closely.
1396  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 15, 2015, 12:48:11 PM
They aren't much different from most tribal groups and even the Samurai or the Romans, it's just the sheer scale of it all that seems to be frightening most people,....

Actually I find the opposite effect, after a certain number of atrocities the mind snaps shut with a conclusion, "Just kill the bastards."  No discussion of religion or philosophy or cause and effect is further necessary.

Dunno, I am an Anarchist, so I find it easier to see the parellels Tongue
1397  Other / Off-topic / Re: You think you have scored on: April 15, 2015, 12:03:16 PM
How about the 00s/2000s? like me Sad
Are we more/less loyal than the 70s?  Wink

You guys get distracted by a notification on Twitter or Facebook so you don't get anything useful done to begin with.
1398  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ISIS impregnates 9-year-old girl on: April 15, 2015, 11:45:45 AM
They aren't much different from most tribal groups and even the Samurai or the Romans, it's just the sheer scale of it all that seems to be frightening most people, they also don't operate under any real rules despite what they claim, this is a power play and they simply have no problem being as violent as they like to anybody in order to achieve this. This is simply the true face of empire building and what it looks like, the only difference is a lot of what the other powers does is behind closed doors, while granted, they don't execute people ( much ) in the end political opponents tend to either end up dead or in jail or caught doing something equally horrible.

I suppose the biggest difference between ISIS and the rest of us, is we've evolved in the way we've dispatched people yet they're sticking to the medieval scripture they follow to do it instead, if you ever wanted to see what the middle east is like during the crusades I guess this would be it.
1399  Other / Meta / I think we should ban scammers and scam accusers on: April 15, 2015, 10:12:21 AM
Since they're so obsessed with banning people why don't we just ban all these scammers and people who accuse other scammers and people who accuse people of abusing the trust system and people who abuse the trust system so that we can finally have some peace from these people who are spamming the whole fucking board with their shit? Cheesy
1400  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin was fun? on: April 15, 2015, 09:55:28 AM
It was fun back then but the fact that it's more stable and worth more than a lot of paper money makes it even more fun especially when you consider what you can do with it. It's also great fun hearing clueless journalists and economists who haven't investigated it properly try and work everything out while we have entire businesses set up around it and are trading brand new altcoins.
