By looking at the difficulty, one can say that SP30 have started to be delivered. ...
I wish. It's another BitFury DC being deployed. Expect a jump. And then calm. And then a jump, ...

All chips are basically overclocked to the max at the moment to get a high hashrate.
The chips are long way from overclocked to the max. In the SP30, the limiting factor is the AC2DC (Around 90W per ASIC). After that, DC2DC (100W per ASIC) and cooling.

The electrical code in North America limits a continuous load on a 15A/120V circuit to 80%, or 12A. That's 1440W. Using 2 of these circuits gives you 2880W.

Can the SP30 be configured to run within this limitation? And, if so, how? And what will the resulting hashrate be? The original spec was 2400W; now it is 3kW ... very relevant to those with 15A/120V circuits.
You really really shouldnt run these on 110. Your giving up potentially 5-10% hashrate minimum, and not to mention 3-4% less overall efficiency on 110 vs 220.
If they would have been 2400W, then it wouldn't be a problem. But 3kW is. At least for some people.

Our recommendation for the 110V users is to host. There are very good options available: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622998.0

Only 60% worse.. no biggie.
Jimmothy, wait to October. Actually, in mid August we'll get two (slightly) better wafers.

I noticed you expect the "fixed" batch will still be 30% worse than expectations. Does that mean the fab is not entirely to blame?

Also will you be giving compensation for the extra power consumption as well as the lower hashrate?
We preferred to give lower estimation. There is still 10% diff that we still can't explain based on the slow ASICs results. We'll know when we get the fast batches.
Compensation will be discussed with the customers. As I wrote, the key factor will be $/GHs ratio.

Anyway, I must say that I admired your patience in the last week  Smiley

Bla Bla Bla

Didn't we already settle that you're not a customer ?

... I bet the co. knew there would be issues with hardware ...
Not true. We got nasty surprise.

Sorry, should have been more clear, what I meant was the fact that you had No Refund Policy from the start, you guys are smart engineers and most likely expected some sort of issues with the hardware, you could only do so much with simulation software etc. so your company decided not to issue refunds as a company policy, I did not mean that you knew about this issue.
No refund policy is the industry standard and boilerplate terms of sale.
As I've explained many times in the thread before, unless there will be a catastrophic event, we'll do right by our customers.
(I fully understand that I won't get 100% of the customers satisfied, but we do plan to be in the miners selling business for a long time)

I would have love to avoid taking pre-orders and sell only from stock. Unfortunately, we can't do it.

And when will you stop ignoring e mails and start answering to my messages?
I have 1,000 emails per day. Please send your email again.

Guy

I sent it 2 weeks ago. Do you want PM or e-mail it?
Email. If you don't get a reply, email again after 72 hours.
Thanks

It's quite late in Israel, I'll answer more questions tomorrow.
Long days ahead ...

Thanks for taking the time to explain, and with the compensation plan it just goes to show the type of company Spondoolies-Tech is.    Other companies just try to hide the problem and play stupid...straight up and honest is the way to earn continued business.   I intend to order additional units.

Thank you for the hard work, keep it coming!

Thank you Dan. Appreciated.

Thank you. It will.

Thanks a lot for the hard work of keeping us informed, for the delivery in time, and the compensation plan in place.

Much appreciated.
Thank you.

Well, at least we know where we are now. Guy, thanks for all your hard work and honest communication. Well done for finding an equitable solution to the shortfall - I trust it will apply fairly to the Roadstress Group Buy customers as well as those who paid full retail. New tech is always problematic...
Thank you. It will.
1434  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 29, 2014, 09:52:33 PM
Another problem could be pushing the PSUs to that limit, being server grade is not the same as "unlimited powa" a 10% over specs sounds risky so I hope the FW is on the safe zone to avoid burning the PSUs
We're doing the same with SP10, with the approval of the manufacturer

For customers receiving units before October, we will adjust the price of your machines consistent with the 4.5TH/s +- 5% hash rate. Compensation will be based on preserving the $/GH ratio of the original deal. Starting in October, we will compensate you for the differential in hashing power according to each customer's preference. We will contact each and every one of you over the next few weeks to discuss your preferred method of compensation.

Early thoughts likely to be amended....

Whilst I appreciate that you will compensate buyers, $/GH isn't the only factor.

They've gone from 0.4w/GH to 0.67w/GH which significantly impacts both the running costs AND the length of time these will be viable to run.

Yes, this is did not receive any mention in the original statement. I am at a loss, however, at the 0.55W/Gh number that was a secondary comment.
If it is 0.55W/GH for 4500GH, then it is 2475W, which is exactly what was expected. Confused as to where the 3kw number is coming from.

July-September batches: 4500GHs +- 5% with 3000 Watt at the wall
October and later batches: 5500GHs +- 5% with 3000 Watt at the wall

Please correct me if I am wrong but you guys promised 6TH +/- 10% and 2500W Nominal Power Consumption?

We expected to get to 6 TH/s with 2700W "at the wall".
The issue with July, August and September batches is extremely slow (3 sigma slow) LVT transistors.
Fixing the issue is done by a small adjustment in the production process. No need to fix the masks.

Yes, I will get my July sp30 in the next days.

I am obviously not immune in my desire to speculate, as any naturally curious person isn´t.

OK, then. We can make a poll as to what TH Sp-30 will be at:
In my opinion 4-4.5Th. If it is at 3-3.5 th-then it is a shocker.

Hit the top value of my range. Not bad at all.
3kw-they probably had to scramble for a new PSU (1600W).
0.67W/Gh-slightly better than S3, slightly worse than KnC

Same PSUs. 1200W is the output. It can goes up to 1350W output. At the wall it's 1500W per PSU
When downclocking the efficiency is sub 0.55 W/GHs
With October batch, the efficiency will be sub 0.55 W/GHs without downclocking

Dear Customers,

After a close inspection of the first ASICs, I'm pleased to announce that the ASICs are fully functional.  Made from industrial grade, sophisticated hardware, the SP30 is now the best mining rig available in the market.

For units produced up to and including September, the SP30's hash rate will be 4.5TH/s +- 5%. Power consumption will be 3KW at the wall.

With additional tuning of the production process for October and onwards, we expect future SP30s to deliver a hash-rate of 5.5 +- 5%, with power consumption of 3KW at the wall.

For customers who have already placed orders and are awaiting delivery, our priority is to ensure on-time delivery of your machines so you can immediately start seeing ROI. I am therefore very pleased to report that we will meet our original delivery schedule and provide all customers with on-time delivery.

As always, we are at your disposal for any questions or inquiries.

We sincerely appreciate your loyalty and support as we continue to develop the world’s best mining products and services.

Best Regards,

Guy Corem
