Wrong.  They just don't do what they say they are going to do.

People who take them at their word get screwed every time.

You're too much into this. Thinking about all the things that could go wrong doesn’t make life any more predictable.

Then option #1 and option #2 are for what we still need to pay SP Smiley be careful what you chose Cheesy

Option 1: Receive a fund (in whatever form they feel fit) ... and will be vigorously discussed on this forum.

Option 2: Opt to have your miner delivery delayed ... until true 6Th+ machines are available at a later date.

Just an idea ... OH! the speculation ... we all wait  Cheesy

Dear Customers,

After a close inspection of the first ASICs, I'm pleased to announce that the ASICs are fully functional.  Made from industrial grade, sophisticated hardware, the SP30 is now the best mining rig available in the market.

For units produced up to and including September, the SP30's hash rate will be 4.5TH/s +- 5%. Power consumption will be 3KW at the wall.

With additional tuning of the production process for October and onwards, we expect future SP30s to deliver a hash-rate of 5.5 +- 5%, with power consumption of 3KW at the wall.

For customers who have already placed orders and are awaiting delivery, our priority is to ensure on-time delivery of your machines so you can immediately start seeing ROI. I am therefore very pleased to report that we will meet our original delivery schedule and provide all customers with on-time delivery.

For customers receiving units before October, we will adjust the price of your machines consistent with the 4.5TH/s +- 5% hash rate. Compensation will be based on preserving the $/GH ratio of the original deal. Starting in October, we will compensate you for the differential in hashing power according to each customer's preference. We will contact each and every one of you over the next few weeks to discuss your preferred method of compensation.

As always, we are at your disposal for any questions or inquiries.

We sincerely appreciate your loyalty and support as we continue to develop the world’s best mining products and services.

Best Regards,

Guy Corem

Yes, I will get my July sp30 in the next days.

I am obviously not immune in my desire to speculate, as any naturally curious person isn´t.

OK, then. We can make a poll as to what TH Sp-30 will be at:
In my opinion 4-4.5Th. If it is at 3-3.5 th-then it is a shocker.

Hit the top value of my range. Not bad at all.
3kw-they probably had to scramble for a new PSU (1600W).
0.67W/Gh-slightly better than S3, slightly worse than KnC (Edit: about the same with downclocking)

Same PSUs. 1200W is the output. It can goes up to 1350W output. At the wall it's 1500W per PSU
When downclocking the efficiency is sub 0.55 W/GHs
With October batch, the efficiency will be sub 0.55 W/GHs without downclocking

I am not a EE, so you lost me there a bit.
Anyway, 1500W at the wall means that typical 15A NA circuits are not usable (current of 13.6A which is higher than 12A rating), have to use 20A/110V or 220/240V.
Not a tragedy.
EEs please comment on how a 1200W supply can provide the 1500W of power.

So we have the best outcome possible. On time delivery and just a little worse specs than announced. I'm satisfied with the speed since it's being delivered on time.

EEs please comment on how a 1200W supply can provide the 1500W of power.

I'm not an EE, but we saw this on SP10 too and since they are server grade PSUs they should be fine.

Early thoughts likely to be amended....

Whilst I appreciate that you will compensate buyers, $/GH isn't the only factor.

They've gone from 0.4w/GH to 0.67w/GH which significantly impacts both the running costs AND the length of time these will be viable to run.

There was never a 0.4w/GH for the full system. 0.5W/GH was what I used for my calculations and I am sure that downclocking will be possible just like with SP10.
