1521  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: January 07, 2023, 09:48:41 PM
I am trying to learn more about trading strategies specially in Technical Analysis. Upon trying different indicators, it comes to my mind that indicators might become an obsolete one day.

Just imagine if all of us knows how to use RSI and MACD. We all know when it is overbought or oversold. Therefore, we already know as well when it is good to enter and exit in market. Since we all knew about, RSI is not a good indicator anymore and many of us will find a new indicator that will provide us more details than the latter one.

Now, many Trading Gurus are teaching the best strategy to use. Wherein fact, strategies are becoming obsolete as time goes by. If you are new in trading world, definitely you will be eaten by those traders who know a lot in trading.
They do not become obsolete, but some of them work at some times, and some others work at other times. So if you learn what RSI is, then you could make a move and at times it will be the right move, and at times it will be the wrong move.

This is because there is also other things than the chart that decides the movements of bitcoin. Like lets say it looks oversold, and it will have a correction and it should go up right? Then something happens like FTX and it goes down even more. This doesn't mean that RSI is bad, doesn't mean it wasn't oversold, it just means that you happened to bought it at wrong time and it will get better with time if you be patient.
1522  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Short term trading and scalping on: January 07, 2023, 08:44:53 PM
Scalping is really hard and I see it was not a profitable strategy in a volatile coin like BTC. I see a lot of market analysis, in fact, I have mine but most of the time I fail to be on perfect timing, and usually, I lose. If we only use Bitcoin for trading, scalping is not good but I see it was effective for altcoins where whales have so much participation.

Scalping can be done when we have a lot of time to spend on the computer but for those who have limited time, short-term trading could be the best choice. Both of them are profitable (or even not) as it will depend on the traders.
Scalping is "too" hard, I mean sure there are some people who know how to do it, but if you ask me it's near impossible for me to do it. I tried it a few times before and I failed and I have been trading for years now, so that means any newbie out there would have absolutely no chance at all, would not make any logic to do it.

I rather have a situation where it would be smarter to end up with a profit in the long run with holding, or regular spot trading because those are not that difficult to follow up, and would give you an easy way to make profit instead of this insane method called scalping. Even with a lot of time, it's very hard to do, requires you to be 100% focused at all times with no margin for error.
1523  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 07, 2023, 08:14:21 PM
12.5 millions were non sense rate for an amateur player like him. It seems like that chelsea was trying to gamble and it's not even wanna try to stop.Chelsea has become so crazy by gambling with so many players.
It keeps wasting it funds even further. Chelsea was a team that keep burning the owner's money without any good result unlike another team. Manchester city was buying the new player effectively unlike another top coins in EPL.
Newcastle was also spending so much money too under eddie howe
I think it's not really about the money but the player instead. He could have been a million euro and it would still look like a weird transfer after all. If this was simply just another player then it would have made some sense because they are making some changes on the team and all.

But, if you are getting a player that nobody knows anything about, hell even Football Manager doesn't know much about which says a lot believe me, then in this case there is no reason to buy him at all. They are already doing terrible at this moment so what's the point of getting him when you need a big name to keep the team going? In the end, they will suck this year, nothing to recover at this moment, so they better start working on next years team.
1524  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next crypto craze? on: January 06, 2023, 06:16:42 PM
Predicting future trends is impossible.

As long as people find a way to get rich quickly, scam projects will continue to exist, scam projects will exist according to our greed, and they will disappear when our greed disappears. So I don't think scam projects will disappear in the future, it's almost impossible.

There is no doubt that crypto, including bitcoin, is a risky market, so you should be cautious when investing in any of them and stay within your budget. Do not trust absolutely anything, remember that the higher the return, the higher the risk.
It's not exactly impossible, it is just difficult. I mean just to make it simple, if I say that bitcoin will go up in 2023 and you say it will not, then one of us will be right. This means if I say "x" will go up and you say "y" will, one of us will be right.

Do not think of it as just one thing, there are tens of thousands, probably even millions of people talking about crypto, and that means some people out there who are already interested in crypto and promoting whatever the next trend will be today. They will be right, that doesn't mean we all know what it is, we just know that there are some people out there who are promoting it right now.
1525  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 06, 2023, 04:40:08 PM
I also believe that Dortmund has that business model, for me it is one of the clubs that have the most to be able to get their hands on the best players, or we can deny that Lewa came out of there, also Haaland, so I don't know If that is as good or better than winning a Bundesliga or even winning a UCL, what I have in my mind is that if we put these things in context, does it make more money to do it like this or by winning? because by winning I know that apart from receiving a very good reputation they can have good rewards to be able to give them to their players and to the club, in addition I don't see a bad thing that they can train them and leave them there for themselves.
I know dude has a potential and he looks like a great future star but paying insane amount of money for him would be a mistake by Chelsea. Plus if Dortmund could get him to sign another contract, he could play there on every single game until he is sold to another club for a huge sum, and he could get to a better place.

Now, he would be going to Chelsea, not a great team now, and be benched there and would probably not be seen by the world much. Staying at Dortmund at this age would be a better idea, so he could get some time and show his skills to the world. But at the end of the day it's something only he could make a decision out of.
1526  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 06, 2023, 02:44:54 PM
Valencia will try to win when they host Cadiz in the 16th week of the Spanish League this season. the duel between Gennaro Gattuso and Sergio Gonzalez's troops looks like it will be fierce, considering that the home team is trying to vent its frustration after losing in the last game.

In the Cadiz camp, will look at the match later as a promising opportunity to get out of the slump in the relegation zone. when referring to the meeting of the two teams in the previous match, neither Valencia nor Cadiz have shown dominance of superiority and in the last match ended in a draw. even so, Valencia has a higher chance of overthrowing the opposing team. Moreover, this match is their home ground, like it or not, Gattuso's squad must get full points, after all, Cadiz is not a team that is difficult for the home team to beat.

In my estimation, the home team will win this match but with a narrow score. betting under 2.5 goals seems ideal to me.
I mean Valencia is not "amazing" neither, they are 10th in the league right now but I agree that Cadiz is not even this league level anymore and will be going to second division for next season, so the difference is still big. I believe they will get an easy win unless they play in a stupid way.

When better teams play relegation zone teams they feel like the game is already done and they already got the win, but of course Cadiz players will not just let them win it, they will try their best, their best is not that great but if you let them then they could play better than you. So 100% of Cadiz plays effort is bigger than 30% of Valencia players effort, only if Valencia plays with 100% then they can win this game easily.
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 06, 2023, 12:14:25 PM
Who has the authority to revoke the license of those if, in the first place, the said gambling is legal in a country? Only those illegal operations are being shut down by the authorities, the same goes for other illegal gambling activities.

Yes, there is a betting market on it and it's wild. Actually here in our country, cockfighting is legal. But since the pandemic hits the country, a new version of betting was born and was called online cockfighting and it becomes trendy here since for just barely $1 to $2, anyone can start betting without the hassle of going into a real cockfighting arena and understand how betting there works. Although currently, online cockfighting was suspended until further notice.

One of the popular online cockfighting operators here, Pitmasters, claimed that they were generating around $13.4 billion annually in wagers. That's how big the industry here is and one of the best sources of revenue for the government.

Disgusting as it is for others but again, take it or leave it.
I have to say it feels a bit weird not to think horse racing or dog racing as normal but then cock fighting as not normal. Yes, in this case you are watching one of the cocks get killed maybe, not all the time of course but the possibility is there, but how many horses has died because of horse racing? How many dogs? It's not unheard of, it's definitely common in those sports as well, and if not then the whip is there to make sure they are in pain and that's why they run much faster as well.

All in all, I have to say that there isn't a good solution to this, either we have to get rid of all fun we get out of pain from animals, or we should not be shocked with just one of them.
1528  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Factors that contribute to form addictive gambling. on: January 05, 2023, 09:30:39 PM
how can drunk people play gambling, if that happens it's a stupid mistake in my opinion, I have to have a focus on playing gambling for example casinos because sometimes when we are aware we are playing gambling it will be better because we can stop the game at any time when we win big or the money runs out, usually gambling addicts have no control over themselves like what OP said that alcohol is one of the causes of people losing money in gambling and finally becoming curious about their defeat trying to keep playing until the end
Unfortunately that is the entire premise of Las Vegas. I understand that not many people may go there, or if you want to go to somewhere smaller that would work too, in Malta or Cyprus they have it too. But at the end of the day it's not going to be that easy to accept it as it is if you haven't been there.

In those places, we have drunk people gambling all day everyday, so much so that there are many situations where casinos lose money because gambler doesn't gamble a lot, but they are given free drinks all night because gamblers get it, and they cost more on drinks than the money they lose. Hence, it's really common for drunk people to gamble.
1529  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you know on: January 05, 2023, 09:02:24 PM
I think when it comes to newcomer altcoins, tokenomics is very important. There are some inflationary altcoins out there, especially like defi coins. In normal situation noone would be interested to buy them because noone wants another currency to gradually lose its price. But yet features of defi coins made them popular and uniswap & pancakeswap are still popular with high cap. Developers should definitely be cautious, and make their token more desirable to buy/use.
either New or old altcoins still needs tokenomics to be understand  because this will tell how good the projection of the said coin, as we remembered how many failure from our old investments that nowadays we must understand this to happen.
but like what said? the importance of understanding all the area in where we are investing is very important all the time .
Understanding the tokenomics is also very important, if it is old and have a bit weaker tokenomics that is understandable because back when it first came out the papers were not that well and this was one of the best to do it, whereas nowadays there are better tokenomics and yet still could fail. Imagine checking bitcoins paper and thinking if that is good or not, even scam projects have better papers these days so you have to know exactly when a project was created.

I think this matters more on the new ones because of this, because no matter how great you think something could be, new ones will always carry bigger risk of becoming bad or turning out to be a scam for sure.
1530  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 05, 2023, 08:28:03 PM
Ibrahim Konate is an important player and a key member of Klopp's defensive line despite not starting many games for Liverpool but he has done so well as a backup centre back been played in big games for Liverpool, I doubt Liverpool will be open to selling him to Real Madrid, he has barely played complete two seasons for Liverpool. If Liverpool sell Konate that only means they will have to sign a new centre back so I doubt Liverpool will sell Konate atleast not in this window.
I think Liverpool wouldn't be too against selling Konate as long as the price is right. If Real offers something decent then they could end up working towards making this happen, and I feel like that would be a good thing for both teams.

Real doesn't really lack a defender, rudiger plus militao is a good defensive line but Konate would make it a bit stronger, would probably be bench again there but would give them a chance to rest players more often. Liverpool would get a lot of money for their bench player and could end up buying a good left wing as well to help them. All in all it would be good for both teams, a win-win type of situation without a doubt.
1531  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Memecoin and utility - impossible or next stage of crypto development on: January 04, 2023, 09:16:34 PM
There's something which i do tells most of my friends who are lovers of memecoins, first they should target it the right time to invest, secondly always being active with their media channels and handle to be self informed about their next plan otherwise they would be likely left alone with just an empty token and from my understand i have never seen any memecoin that has ran for long rather than dogecoin before its final decrease. One major thing i really dislike about memes is that they often end with hype most likely pumped and dump.
That is exactly what they are though, they are pump and dump tokens and they are not there to make any money for anyone outside of the project creators. If you think that people could invest into memecoins and make a profit then you should invest into them right now because they are very low and with crypto market going up eventually they should make you more profit than bitcoin considering they are low cap and can easily and rapidly go up.

However, I won't do that because I do not think they are good, not even doge to be fair and certainly not the others. They are all terrible and I am not expecting them to be any good in any soon situation at all.
1532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 04, 2023, 08:53:36 PM
Personally, I do not think that the players should be held accountable for taking some performance, enhancing materials, just because they dropped an insane performance in a match. I am also positive that he did not take anything like that.

I know for a lot of people, it is going to be hard to believe that he was actually “in the zone“. But that can happen and that has happened previously. However, I also think that the authority is very much in their right to check if he is actually taking any substance or not. If the player is not taking anything, which I believe he did not, everything should be fine.
I think it is definitely possible for players to have good games and this was one of them, plus he didn't had this much points for the first three quarters neither, it didn't look like a 71 point game at all, it was like a 40+ even maybe 50 point game at best which does happen time to time, we have seen it done by Luka so many times in a row during December for example.

The difference was that he had a good game like that, but then it also went to OT and he scored a bunch of points there too. Other team gave up eventually, and his team got him the ball and he was on fire so he put them in. That's the greatest thing and it does help him a lot too.
1533  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 03, 2023, 08:34:24 PM
I think Jurgen needs to be replaced. Honestly, there's been nothing interesting about the Liverpool games anymore and take last night's game for instance. They played like a start-up club and at some point it got boring to watch. Imagine Ibrahima Konate scoring an own goal. More like opening the ground for more flops.

If more performance like this repeats itself, they'd sure be dropped like a hot sack of potatoes. But this season like I said earlier is still fresh and full of surprises. Maybe something can be done.
I'm sure Klopp will leave at some point and maybe go to Real ? Because I don't think Ancelotti will remain for a long time as he always said Real is his last coaching team. Livepool is having an awful season not just by Klopp fault but the transfers the club made , are simply not paying off for now and more than this , Liverpool is in a very dangerous position to miss European spots.
It would be a perfect move for Klopp but he is not looking great at Liverpool right now, how could he go to real? Real will want a coach that would be perfect for them and has a great track record, even though Klopp looks like he has done amazingly so far, this year he started to suck and he is not as good, which means that Real would want someone currently trending and good, not someone who started to play worse.

I am not sure who that would be, we do not have too much managers making headlines anymore to be fair, I am not seeing some new star manager being born or anything. Zidane is still a great choice if they can somehow convince him, dude doesn't want to but when he does, he wins.
1534  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will it be profitable for the business? on: January 03, 2023, 02:46:41 PM
Suppose I am doing business through an online Facebook page and website and want to accept Bitcoin. But now if I look at cryptocurrencies it comes with high volatility, and I have doubts whether accepting Bitcoin will be profitable for my business.
(....)
What if you just have multiple payment options or methods?
So your customer will always have their option on how they will pay you? There are lot of payment processor right now that can offer multiple mode of payments like in different way, like debit cards, credit cards, digital wallets, etc., and you can just add the option for paying Bitcoin.
Bitcoin could also technically turn into stablecoins automatically with many payment processors which means that you do not have to worry about the volatility as well. They could pay you with bitcoin if you want to include crypto users, but the moment they do, your money will turn into USDT which could be turned into USD into your bank account. That is how many people do it, so that they do not have to face the troubles of bitcoin or crypto volatility.

I believe that it's by far the best method for a person in business, because it allows them to know their finances, anyone with dubious finances would fail in the business world and won't grow.
1535  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chasing the big multipliers in soccer on: January 02, 2023, 07:42:22 PM
A lot of times I have done parlays in the past, and it fail by a game that was supposed to be an easy win, that's why I'm betting this way today. So, what do you think, will I lose the 6 bets?
It is good to go for single games instead of accumulating bet, that is one if the right thing to do while gambling because one game can cause an accumulated bet to be lost. But the mistake I see is that you are going for underdog, because they are having more odds and you think they can win, or draw. So far matches can be won, drawn or lost, that creates more ways to lose. You selected some to draw where it is possible that the underdog might lose or win. I will advice you to just go for clubs you think that would win if a strong club is playing with an underdog. Never take gambling that serious.
There is also a chance that you could end up with like 3.20 odds for a team and get like 5 of them on the same parlay and you will end up with gambling a good amount and winning it. I am not saying 5 underdogs will win at the same time, but it is also not impossible and some people do it.

Or you could pick the favourites but they are favourites for a small margin, like you know those games when one team gets 2.00 and the other gets 2.80, it is not a by far thing but close enough and you pick the 2.00 one and then play 10 of them or something. These are all very very low chance but that is why they pay a huge amount and they are not commonly won, but when you win it's all worth it.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 02, 2023, 06:22:23 PM
The Champion league fixtures between Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund are scheduled to take place on 15th February 2023, and by then Borussia Dortmund may have given out their supper star midfielder; Jude Bellingham. If this happens, it will make an easier game for Porter's side.
It won't happen. Big clubs don't want to sell their star players in winter transfer and don't want to buy star players with too expensive cost in winter.

Dortmund are not ready to sell Jude in January and big clubs like Chelsea have more hesitation and are not ready to approve big transfer budget for big transfer deals in January. History has its voice that Winter transfers usually bring bad results.
It is obvious that Chelsea is definitely better, but that doesn't mean that Chelsea will be the winner, they are not too far apart enough to say that there will be a clear winner. I believe that in a good day Dortmund could play better, so the winner will be decided on how they will play. Chelsea could play worse than they usually play and lose this game as well, or Dortmund could play better than usual and win this one.

There is also two games which means that even in one game if things go right, in another it could go wrong and suddenly you could lose as well. Nobody is saying Dortmund is the favourites, but it is not a huge difference between the clubs neither.
1537  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price, January. $20000 or above possible? on: January 01, 2023, 07:03:10 PM
Will bitcoin price increase in January?
Is bitcoin getting back to $20000 in January or not?
Yes, definitely. I believe that we can see up to $30k easily in this January. Probably these may start only by the 3rd week of January as sideways market does not seem to end up that quickly. So, a right prediction for this January could be anything between $20k to $30k. First we need to break the bigger psychological resistance around $19.5k to $19.8k levels and if that becomes achieved then we can easily run up to $30k levels in one week of time period.

2023 is going to be a better year for bitcoiners but not for traders in my opinion. Because, traders prefer one direction but the overall market sentiment is going to be range-bounded in 2023 which might lead to unpleasant times for bitcoin traders.
1538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Michael Saylor and Bitcoin or Michael Saylor and altcoin? on: January 01, 2023, 05:38:30 PM
In any case, the argument made is maybe Michael Saylor would have made a better investment if he invested in altcoins, Defi or NFT instead of bitcoin. It appears this article shows that the argument might be correct.
Better investments in terms of BTC value? Because, only ETH/BTC pair is trading stable through out 2022 like around the value of 0.07BTC with low at 0.048BTC whereas ETH/USDT pair is trading exact similar to BTC/USDT like in Jan 2021 it was around $900 and hit ATH around $4800 in Nov 2021 and trading around $1200 right now.

If you calculate growth rate in USD in 2021, there are many altcoins had performed well in 2021 like dogecoins which got low around 30 satoshi in the beginning of 2021 (or by the end of 2020) and peaked up to 1300+ satoshi in 2021 (and trading around 400 satoshi right now).

If they have opted for altcoins then probably they might not have stopped only with ETH which again might have got them mixed results and then overall performance might have dragged down than bitcoin investment.
1539  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goldman Sachs is looking to buy crypto, why? on: January 01, 2023, 04:23:22 PM
Following the collapse of the FTX, which impacted valuations and reduced investor interest, Goldman Sachs aims to invest or spend tens of millions of dollars buying crypto companies. Which indicates to me that they clearly see some benefits of blockchain if it's under their control.

Why would one of the biggest investment banks in the world want to buy FTX's scraps?
Honestly, this must be an all new approach as far as I am concerned. After a big collapse, most whales and institutes look for only cheaper cryptocurrencies but this is first time I heard about the demand for the collapsed firm.

What are the possibilities to acquire a bankrupted firm? By googling I learned these:
1. Acquiring a firm for undervalue (not just for better price or cheaper price but far-best-price).
2. Merging a bankrupted firm is easier and got tax benefits in some countries.

Still, not sure about the exact case of Goldman Sachs and FTX but we can assume that Goldman Sachs is planning something big in crypto world by believing into the future of cryptocurrencies.
1540  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Are You Preparing For 2023? on: January 01, 2023, 03:16:33 PM
If there is no new scamming news in the new year then the crypto will gradually improve its status. But i will not be worried even where negative news may come because i know crypto is bearish for a long time and will be bullish again that can be happen form this year. Since crypto is in worse position last year, 2023 is more likely to be good.
Yeah, both bearish and bullish trends got its own ending which means both of these trends cannot last for pro long duration hence, this is must be the expected time to experience the reversal. At the same time, we may see continuation of bear even in 2023 but I am sure it may be only up to mid of this month.

No one could do anything on negative news; like scams are happening all the times but when that happens in bearish year, we may see more downfall compared to same kind of news causing lesser damage in bullish year. So, we cannot do about any new negative news but when trend changes, impact also varies.
