Multi-sig wallet as the name implies is the type of wallet that supports more than 1 signature.
Segwit (segregated witness) address is the address in which the transaction and the signature is handled in a different block for scalability purposes. No confusion.
It's the first time I've heard such a definition, what do you mean?

In general, to simplify the idea, imagine that we have a box, and this box has a limit of 1 megabyte. The transactions are the data that we enter inside this box. All that happened in Segwit was an attempt to improve the exploitation of that space by removing unnecessary signatures. It is like compressing and reorganizing the space inside the box, and thus instead From bringing a bigger box, the same box has more stuff in it.

To explain it in detail, I hope you start with some specialized books than articles spread on the Internet. Start with Mastering Bitcoin 2nd Edition, the link https://github.com/bitcoinbook/bitcoinbook, and when you do not find an answer to your question, ask it here.
1542  Economy / Economics / Re: For whoever has, to him more will be given, and he will have abundance on: May 27, 2023, 04:41:53 AM
Elion Musk's wealth comes from the companies he invests in, as I do not think that he has a large amount of cash, but the shares of those companies can be used as collateral in order to obtain cash, or at least borrow through them with low returns.
As for why the government finances it because there is a return from this financing, it will benefit from it, and therefore (government earns you earns all happy), while when it funds the citizen, it mostly does it as a service, but there is no return for governments from financing individuals or even supporting small companies because most of them will be liquidated, but inevitably all will support the successful company.

It's all about return on investment.
1543  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What platforms are the best to get actual user feedback? on: May 27, 2023, 04:22:54 AM
It is not necessary to trust a site or review, but rather the experience of users. Learn how to use search engines and search with the correct phrases to find what you are trying to search for. If you do not find any data on the site, then the site is new or scam and therefore it is better to use them on your own risk.

If there are some user experiences, look for these experiences, the bad ones in particular, and evaluate whether it is a personal impression or is it really that this platform is a fraud.
A negative feedback of 3 according to the size of the platform and the number of reviews is enough to make you stay away from using them.

Therefore, there is no specific site, but rather a search method as long as any user can make feedback without site admin control.
1544  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Choosing a cryptocurrency pair on: May 27, 2023, 03:58:18 AM
People's knowledge about trading does not go beyond following the social media news, or at best, following the discussions here and there, and a little bit of technical analysis news before starting trading, and here emotion plays a big role and the trader may achieve profits, but what he does is a high-risk investment that may end with a loss his money.
Therefore, you will find that the reason for investing something in a currency are flimsy reasons without an in-depth analysis, whether it is technical or why you invest in it. You will find that most of us invested in dogecoin for nothing but some tweets on Twitter, or that he made some profits and thought he was a skilled trader.
If you invest carefully, you will find that you do not diversify your investments, but rather diversify your risks, and it is a short-term investment policy, while the long-term investment will be for Bitcoin only.
1545  Other / Meta / Re: Images from Imgur have been restored on: May 27, 2023, 03:42:29 AM
I am happy that old images can be restored again, but nothing has been done on the part of the forum except to prevent this problem in the future by banning Imgur, but they may delete old photos or restrict them, and therefore I hope that any solution will be taken instead of the false hope that the problem has been solved.
And try to avoid it in the future, although solutions like Talkimg seem appropriate now.

Has any of you contacted them to inform them of the importance of the images they have for the forum? They may provide an exception as long as we continue to use them.
1546  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am Never going to Leave this Forum no Matter What on: May 26, 2023, 07:35:26 AM
I read about a user I think the name is Lauda who left the forum some time ago. I must confess that this forum has been so helpful to me. I have become bitcoin conscious and I discover that I have things to chip in about bitcoin or cryptocurrencies whenever friends are talking about it. And when I mean something to chip I mean I more than just the name of the founder of bitcoin, the year it was founded etc but the things kike the current events, security, wallets, mixers, and a little bit of technical stuff.

Why of all the people who left you remembered Lauda He was a signature campaign and one of the people who tried to fight spam in the forum, he left but others came to this industry as many people left.
The account in Lauda's name has disappeared, but it is likely that s/he has returned with a new account and trading history.
Therefore, unless it is confirmed that a user has died, he will return again.

I don't think I am never going to leave this forum no matter what. What about you ?
All of us will leave for one reason or another. Some may leave because signature campaigns are banned. Some have found a better job. Some have gotten married. Some have become rich from the profits they have collected. There are many reasons and the result is supposed to be an attempt to spread awareness of the importance of Bitcoin and its role in improving the lives of some.
1547  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your favorite season to trade cryptocurrency? on: May 26, 2023, 07:28:58 AM
Most of the classification does not talk about seasons, but rather about cycles, and most of the cryptocurrency cycles are based mainly on the Bitcoin cycle, and many of them appear as a pump-and-dump model, where there is one peak and a lot of decline in the price.
The Bitcoin cycle is renewed every 4 years, changing during which the price breaks a new top and bottom, and therefore in each period during these four years there are periods for bears and bulls, and among them it determines whether trading within this cycle is a gain or a loss.

As an investor, you aim in the long term to catch up with the bottom of a cycle and wait for the top of the second cycle. As for a short-term investor, your targeting is for points of support and resistance within each cycle, and therefore it is always bull or the bear without the great meaning of this word.

Better to follow technical analysis indicators instead of these terms.
1548  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The huge amount of motivation MERIT give newbies on: May 26, 2023, 07:00:21 AM
The natural beginner will come to the forum to learn and get answers. To rise or get merit points is not important if you want to learn, but the quality of your posts will increase and you will be keen on answering more than merits.
I see that what is happening now is the same influences on YouTube or Facebook, instead of creating good content to make profits from ads, they focus on what people want in order to get more likes, and after a while you will notice that the channel or page started with conflicting content and people began to stop following it.

Therefore, focus on learning and developing yourself, and merits will not be an incentive for you, because they will not mean much in return for the profit you get.
1549  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ethmine.xyz FAKE CLOUD MINING on: May 26, 2023, 06:28:51 AM
Apparently powered by:
https://www.bitmain.com/

This is the first warning, bitmain manufactures mining tools and will not cooperate with an unknown entity to manage cloud mining. It would have been better to say in one of the data centers where you can lie about having excess money and resources to continue cloud mining and not a well-known company that you can determine the lie by asking them.

The money is in your wallet and you can move it, transfer or whatever.
That hold on the picture that you have your money safe and no one can access it.
In fact, your money has been stolen as soon as you click on Confirm in the wallet. All that happens later or any balance is an update in the site’s database. They can make this number 100 dollars, 1000 or a million, but it is only a number in the database and not a real balance. And it doesn't matter if it disappears on the second day or not, because you will not be able to withdraw it.

Every day you receive your profit depending on the amount you have in your wallet.
2% - 2,5% or 3%
This is a waste of time to delay your attempts to search and track where your coins have disappeared.
1550  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Promotion service required for a referral matrix platform on: May 26, 2023, 06:10:43 AM
The business that works like ponzi. Referral schemes where old users get paid through new users sign up
This is an outright scam, you may be able to create a signature campaign but only members who spread spam will join you and you will end up banning the campaign from promoting after several weeks because it helps spread spam.

Try to modify the system to be something useful instead of recycling customers' money and stealing other people's money.
1551  Economy / Reputation / Re: 1000 post in 16 days on: May 26, 2023, 05:57:35 AM
Congratulations, it's a great achievement to reach the first 1000 posts, but the most important thing is that you reach more than 200 merits, which indicates a high quality posts. keep going.

The title of 16 days is misleading, and had it not been for the explanation of the members above, I would have thought that you did this in 16 days. Therefore, please edit the post to Total time logged in 16 days, or at least make this thread for your achievements and may update it from time to time.

Are you sure that you need to put quotes along with the link?
If I haven't forgotten, quotes should be used when there is no link.
If the user posted a link, then such a post should not be considered plagiarism.
There are many posts on the forum without quotes if a link is provided.
This seems a little off topic, but since we wear paid signatures, the above text does not contain any personal effort from the user. If you put it inside quotes, you will not be paid because it is less than 150 words.
It is true that mods do not ban accounts, but it is better to avoid that.
So in any case, it is better to quote the text away from your words, or to separate the quote from personal effort.

Plagiarism is copying with the intent of passing the work off as your own. In essentially all cases, plagiarism deserves a permaban because it usually proves definitively that the person is here for the wrong reasons: to fill up space in order to get paid, not to actually discuss or contribute.

1553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price motivation benchmark: on: May 25, 2023, 10:57:12 AM
Investing in altcoins is good if it is according to a specific strategy and for a short period it can be a good tool to collect more bitcoins, but buying and hoping to make a quick profit is not a wise strategy as you are not diversifying investments but rather exchanging an asset with a discount as the simple definition of the asset is any Something that has value in itself and has demand, and assuming that altcoins do not have value in its own right, then demand is what will move the market.

The demand for Bitcoin is continuous and for altcoins is seasonal, so it is foolish to bet on it.

  • Try as much as possible to avoid investing when everyone wants to buy an altcoins or when there is a rise in the price.
  • Work hard to know the factors that will lead to an increase in demand in the short term, including an increase in the price, and some of the factors that may lead to an increase in demand is an increase in currency burning, technical development, and others.
1554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to change login password? on: May 25, 2023, 10:25:42 AM
I created my account on the 5th day of May 2022, as you can see there are few post on my page because I wasn’t active all this while due to an accident I was involved in. As members in a forum instead of false-fully accusing  another member we should try to show concern and care for one another by asking reasonable questions when trying to render help. If I knew how to change the password I won’t seek for help from everyone else here. So next time let’s focus on the bone of contention instead of bringing out false narratives of what we don’t know about.

Unfortunately, you did not clearly explain what you want, so far we are not sure if you are talking about Bitcointalk account or another account.
Have you posted any Bitcoin address publicly or privately? If you publish an address, sign a letter proving that you are the owner of that address.
Then email recoveries...@bitcointalk.org with these links and they will be able to help you.
If your account is old and has few posts, it won't change anything, unless you post every 14 days, you won't get a higher rank.
1555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nunchuk wallet on: May 25, 2023, 09:42:30 AM
So did you click on any of the links above? Shamir's secret sharing (SSS) is an algorithm that securely splits your private key or seed into several parts and then you can assemble those parts back to the seed.
Instead of splitting your seed in two which is bad advice and reducing its entropic strength, it's better to use Shamir's secret sharing (SSS).

However, there is much discussion that using multi-signature addresses is better than Shamir's secret sharing (SSS).

You can find the discussions here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433064.0
https://medium.com/bitbees/shamirs-secret-sharing-or-multisig-why-not-both-ad1be6dbccff

I searched for any details about providing a cloud service, and I did not find it, on the contrary, from the same article I found.
Quote
Never make digital copies of your recovery seed or recovery shares. Never upload it online!
What happens if I lose so many recovery shares that I can't meet the required threshold?
If you can’t meet the required threshold, your wallet will become unrecoverable.  For example: if you use a 3-of-4 scheme, where 3 is the required threshold to recover the wallet, and you lose 2 or more of the recovery shares, your wallet will be unrecoverable.

1556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nunchuk wallet on: May 25, 2023, 09:02:41 AM
The fact that the wallet is open source does not mean that it is safe. If you are not a developer and you have reviewed the code yourself, then making the wallet open source or closed source will not change anything.
And you can't trust whether the code you download from the store is the same as the open source code.
I searched for the code and found that most of the libraries and codes were written recently without a real reviews from active developers, and there are some bugs, which suggests that there can be more.

It is better to avoid it.
Trezor and Ledger offer the same type of service, I'm not supporting it, but as long as the user has the choice to use the service or not, I don't see a problem.
Can you attach any source that Trezor provides a cloud storage service?
1557  Other / Meta / Re: Did Laszlo Hanyecz exchange 40000 BTC for 8 pizzas, not 10000 BTC for 2 pizzas? on: May 25, 2023, 08:34:39 AM
I think you've lost the point of the story, the point is not the number of bitcoins he spent to buy pizzas, but rather that this is the first bitcoin exchange for a good or service ever recorded.
So the question is, did Laszlo Hanyecz perform more deals? The answer is yes, I will quote you a reply from him.

Quote
Yeah, I do, I try to whenever I can. I've bought many things over the years with it, I play around with the Bitcoin software and things like that, but I try to kind of keep it as a hobby.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-pizza-guy-laszlo-hanyecz-on-why-bitcoin-is-still-the-only-flavor-of-crypto-for-him

So Laszlo Hanyecz bought a pizza several times because he answered that he loves pizza and that he spent bitcoins to buy many things, and I think he himself does not know the total number of bitcoins that he paid, but it is definitely more than 10,000.

If you search in old threads you will find similar cases.

BITCOIN TOWER, the first one in the world, will be built in Dubai
The commitment to celebrating the importance, notoriety, and values of Bitcoin has led to the creation of a new hotel chain in the shape of the king of cryptocurrencies.
I searched for a reliable source for this news and did not find it. All the articles appear from Bitcoin-related sites and almost all of them have the same format as the above news, but there is no indication of the design of the tower, the financier or the developer company, the place of implementation or any reliable data.
the name of Salvatore Leggiero was mentioned, and I searched for him, and I did not find any news about building a Bitcoin project or an experimental model for it.
Unless accurate data appears, I do not think it is true news.

All the above response is quoted, I hope you attach the quotation mark, otherwise you will be banned.
1559  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Today is Bitcoin Pizza Day. on: May 24, 2023, 11:52:15 AM
It is amazing to see the price change in 13 years, it is a crazy rise and you may rarely find that the price of Bitcoin was different from the price in the past.
I hope that we will go beyond the prices during the first 3 years and start comparing after 2013, given that from that point the price began to gain value and from that point we will find a good rise in Bitcoin every year.

Buy a pizza today, enjoy it, you may have lost more than $10,000 if you used its value to buy bitcoin.
1560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Regarding trade BSC token before listing /safe buy on: May 24, 2023, 10:47:29 AM
You are asking wrongly. Trading a currency means that there is an initial value for that currency that is traded around and there is a party that sells and buys that currency. Therefore, the currency must be listed on a central platform such as Binance or liquidity tools such as Pancakeswap, and these two types of listings need a team to provide liquidity for trading That currency and the presence of a third party that buys that currency from developers or miners next to you.

What you are trying to reach is the distribution of these currencies, which is what is known as a airdrop or what happens in bounty campaigns, as a value is set for the currency before listing and you are carrying out a task such as promoting that currency in exchange for that initial value and promises to maintain that value upon listing.

You can buy and sell before listing, but there is no guarantee of value for you, and therefore the seller is often the developers in an attempt to make the project attractive.
