1561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Decline in listening hosts on: May 29, 2012, 09:48:11 PM
Most miners use pools.  I doubt there are 3000+ solo miners to begin with.

Looking at listening hosts is kinda silly.  Many bitcoind are configured to ignore incoming connections (most major pools are) so that stat really isn't meaningful.

OK, two questions:
1) Why is it not a problem that there are so few listening hosts? Would the network still function if there were zero?
2) What about the decline in total hosts? Is that not a problem for the network's ability to resist attack?

Keep in mind that 1 host is Deep Bit which is like 20-30% of the entire bitcoin network hash rate. Nuff said...
1562  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting the record straight on SC/MC on: May 26, 2012, 02:28:53 AM
nothing has been released since thin client source.... all these threads are nonsense until they finally do make a release - binary or source.

If they release the source...I'll shut up and stick to the technical details....

1563  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Getting the record straight on SC/MC on: May 26, 2012, 12:34:54 AM
1. Is MC decentralized? If so, where are the technical details that support it?

2. Where is the source code?

3. Why has the source code not been released if it is such a great project that can' be broken? Edit: And has nothing to hide.

4. If the source isn't released then why is anyone supposed to accept MC as a legitimate alternate cryptocurrency?

5. ....

That's all I could think of. But instead of having people TROLL this forum with their BS about the FACTS surrounding the questions above, I would seriously like some mature and honest answers that actually answer the question and not end in attacking myself or another user on this forum to avoid answering the questions...

Thanks!

Word to the wise: stop deluding yourself about SolidCoin. It failed the moment SC2 came out and nothing will ever change that. There's no shame in giving up on a bad idea.

LOL amen to that!

SC1 was okay but once ArtForz buttplugged RS's precious SC that was when the real crying started =)

Made some good $ on SC1....so I'm happy I got out when it began!  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Yep, Once ArtForz violated Coinhunter, he was never the same. BTW what ever happened to AF???

~BCX~

I think ArtForz decided to keep quiet given how much crying went on once his rustled the feathers of the SC sockies and their RealKingScam.

Solidcoin 1.0 was a cliff, solidcoin 2.0 was a blocker at the edge of that cliff, microcash may be the builder they need to get out of here... but oh, its building in the wrong direction, over the top of solidcoin 2.0, over the cliff, going to be a messy fall when it runs out of steps for a shitload of lemmings

"You bitcoin bastards simply can't get enough...."

I swear you add no value to this forum. At least I'm asking for some validity and light to be shed on the shit known as SC/MC. All you do is put up retarded pictures claiming how stupid us "bitcoin-trolls" are.

MicroCash is indeed ready for the SC2 collapse.

Can't believe this idiot still has this article posted on their forum.

RS Quote from solidcointalk.org:

"MicroCash is on a new codebase so the code isn't compatible with Bitcoin anymore. Also our license strictly prohibits using our code directly (but not the ideas in it) in other digital currencies. We have no problem with the Bitcoin developers getting ideas from our source but they can't use the source directly. "

Isn't that just awesome that he could steal the entire bitcoin source code and use it and not include the MIT license in it then say the quote above.

Wow ....lol....just...wow
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: More Solidcoin Bashing/Defense (split from Be Safe thread) on: May 23, 2012, 01:10:53 AM
Why do we even bother responding to yet another RS/CH/DoucheBag sock-puppet? Great, they have renamed their pile of steaming crap once again. This time in addition to stealing the code, they stole the name too. Guess that is sure going to attract the "investors" to their pretend little circle jerk world where the same group of five fuckwits keeps pretending they are manipulating the market, and that they somehow matter.

Guess what? Nobody gives a damn. It's a bad joke. Run by an incredibly stupid individual who insists that going back to the same well and back-raping the same group of ten people is going to make him a celebrity, and he will be able to move out of his mom's basement. None of this foolishness is real, there is no demand for yet another abortion of a crypto-joke coin. In the movies someone would have stuck a big ole stake through its pathetic little heart by now, instead we get to be entertained by the next personality leaking out from under RS/CH/Douchebag's meds.

Another classic example "LoupGaroux", of an individual who has absolutely NO MERIT or accomplishments of his own, but wastes his time spreading garbage regarding the work of others.  Tell me "LoupGaroux", name just one thing that you have contributed in the name of BTC even. I can assure you, MC$ is going to succeed without you (LoupGalooser).   Wink

is that you?

I don't have my panties in a twist. I couldn't care less about solidcoin. But you guys are giving a shit ton of free advertising for it. The webpage for Solidcoin was incredibly deceptive and lacking information on all kinds of important subjects. Since none of you want to provide any evidence, people will type in "www.microcash.org" and see that everything looks legit there--there might even be some favorable propaganda to let them know that the BTCTalk members are just full of shit and afraid. "They're scared of our new and improved awesome protocol blah blah blah" sound familiar?

So are you...so now who is the hypocrit?
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who has really been scammed by SC (->MC)? A self-report would be helpful... on: May 23, 2012, 12:06:59 AM
You have to understand that people like you pop up about once a week. You haven't been following the conversation since the beginning of Solidcoin and for some reason can't click on a persons post history (Coinhunters) and read what has already been said on the subject.

I've read most of the solidcoin threads. The whole purpose of "people who pop up once a week", which I have not, is to give them an easy way to learn this information without the poo-covered cherry on top. If you don't provide any evidence, all you do is give credit to any SC supporter who says "they're just afraid it will take down bitcoin."

Quote
You then claim that the information you have seen so far is incomplete, and you cannot draw any conclusions from it. That statement is true, and you should not draw any conclusions from the small bit of the play you have seen. Unfortunately, some of the best actors deleted their own performances when their true identities were discovered (Viper and Psi).

So? You have evidence available, for now, here: http://forums.microcash.org/index.php/topic/600-as-we-migrate/ that is probably going to be deleted soon, so get some screen shots and archive them somewhere.
You have evidence available in the block chain which may disappear as soon as microcash starts with what I assume will be with something new and just carrying over old accounts. That history of award changes will be gone forever if someone does not actively get it and archive it somewhere.

The onus of proof is on the accuser. So how's about some of you grow the f* up and do something constructive for a change.

Someone's got their panties in a twist. lol Grin

1575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Ixcoin fork -> I0coin on: May 22, 2012, 09:24:13 PM
This chain although was community based is dead in terms of value.

Freely produced coins will kill the value of the coins unless someone with some large pocket change wants to invest heavily into it...but will likely lose some value in their investment because of the illiquid market conditions.

Not necessarily going by this, name-coins are freely produced are they dead?
Actually going by allchains.info they seem to be doing fine. 0.007+ Rates.

Ixcoins are being mined freely atm they are worth 0.0003 for many many months.
Being mined freely doesn't necessarly kill the value.

I am just saying that i0coins with a lot of community work put into it, a new logo,
Fixes to the problem, you even mentioned that once the 50% bug was fixed
you would put the exchange back up Doublec. It was in the red text on the site, mentioning
about until its fixed its being taken down, it was something like that.

The thing is if you do put the exchange back up, that will hugely increase the value of the currency.
If everyone takes Namecoin down of course it will crash a lot in value.
Same thing occured to i0coin here as it had the 50% bug. Give it a chance.
It won't cost you a thing opening the exchange, and
to be honest you will profit off the fees.

There is no risk DoubleC.
You can make the difference just be part of the community and try to push it as well.
A driven community currency I believe has its potential.
Give it a chance.

And to top things off I can offer a 25,000 i0coin Bounty DoubleC, if you reopen it.

TRANSLATION: "Open the exchange, I'll even bribe you to reopen it so I can take a big fat dump on it with all my millions of I0coins."

That bonus applies to bitcoiners as well, there you are right.. but not the way it does/did for SC users. In bitcoin coin generazion drops from 50 to 25 - not from 32 to 0.X... and not all of a sudden but with a plan in mind..

To be fair, at least the system is inflationary and not restricted so there is no insane amount of control that the early adopters could have over the currency via the supply itself... BUT THEN the CPF exists and throws that out the window.

Quote
And WHY is there a fee? Does it have any legitimation? And reason to be there? Especially: Who is the benefitor? Maybe those chosen few who have 9/10 of all coins?

The legitimacy of the fee is in serious doubt by anyone who isn't eating from the hand of RS. Even by some of those that do.

Quote
No.. i meant its predecessor. Solidcoin2 was meant to be a CPU only chain until all of a sudden a GPU miner was released with RealSolid being the first one to cheer about it..

Respond to my statements about this. From what it looks like to me is that something is being blown out of proportion here. I think you're looking for a conspiracy where there isn't one. But I can't say for sure because your facts are seemingly hearsay.

"if you look at the early blockchain you will notice the dickminer and if you look up for when there was a major drop in hashing speed of the big BTCPools you will notice the dickminer disappeared. Not exactly evidence, but a damn good correlation."

provide links and explain this correlation for someone who was not here when this happened. None of this groks for someone not knowing the whole story.

I really suggest a sticky thread or something that unbiasedly puts this information together. I'd do it but I wasn't here so I am not intimately familiar with what happened and I won't go off hearsay.

You have to understand that people like you pop up about once a week. You haven't been following the conversation since the beginning of Solidcoin and for some reason can't click on a persons post history (Coinhunters) and read what has already been said on the subject.

My name is Coinhunter. I am also known as RealSolid from Solidcointalk. I just created a new account to astroturf my latest scam called Microcash. I have to use aliases because I don't want people to know who I really am. This is so that when I take their money, they cannot use the courts to punish me for my crimes.

Fixed that for you. Wink

I played around with SC 1 and early SC 2. Actually guys, there was a time when RS wasn't a douche! That was very early on though. Back then, I actually preferred SC to BTC, as this was back when you had to wait 20 minutes before BTC would even show up in your wallet as unconfirmed, causing a lot of anxious minutes, trying to figure out if I had been scammed or not. I never got burned using SC, but after RS started acting like an asshat I sold off my SC and bought LTC, because at the time, they were fast, and backed by BTC. Then BTC began having faster transaction times, and I went back to BTC.

Long story short, I didn't stay invested in SC long enough to get screwed.

Yes at first RS wasnt a dick but that was for like 10 minutes. Once the initial rally in SC occurred he was like "i'm god and you shall bow to me lowly peasant"

LOL....the rest is history.....
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinEXpress lies he didn't write Microcash articles on RipoffReport on: May 21, 2012, 10:42:34 PM
I'm sure the creator having millions of solidcoin and then changing the system so that new blocks give like almost no coin is very decentralized and fair

You know, I've never seen any actual code posted that shows what brought that change. I'm just honestly curious if it was in the code or if it was the trust nodes agreeing on a new solidcoin version with a lower rate. I wasn't paying attention to these boards when SC was first around. Either way it's hilarious. The CPF though is evidence enough for anyone who would ever seriously consider using MicroCash. It is a way too blatantly obvious "I know how to spend your money better than you do" tax. With, as far as I can tell, no actual plan to ever end. So much shadiness.

Agreed the CPF should only exist if there is a multitude of community users willing to sign their name to the project and each hold a piece of the "key" to the CPF to be spent for community purposes.

QUESTION: If RS/CH were to pass away (in theory) how would the CPF hold its purpose?

That's right even the "god" known as RS/CH has limitations and thus limits the system by the fact that he is NOT IMMORTAL.
