1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We missed the ETH train. on: April 05, 2016, 03:21:16 AM
The difference is, people now know that Crypto is worth something. In addition, you now have wall street guys speculating on ETH because their companies are using the technology. You cannot compare an ETH bubble in 2015 to a BTC bubble in 2011, because crypto is in a very different place and ETH is a very credible competing platform to BTC.

The hype is before ETH's use becomes widespread.
An bubble is what it is, its true price will become known once the hype dies down.
1582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Panama Papers open eyes of public towards Crypto? on: April 05, 2016, 03:12:03 AM
Perhaps the elite will start using crypto to store their wealth..  Roll Eyes

When the Elite start using crypto for this purpose, they'll stop getting caught....but only if they use Monero, not Bitcoin.

Even if their names are mentioned in these papers, do you think they will get prosecuted, convicted and punished?
These people will find a way out.
1583  Economy / Speculation / Re: 30-day volatility at 1.19%, 60-day at 1.69% on: April 05, 2016, 03:09:40 AM
This stability will not last another few months. I am quite sure that some real action will start before the halving. And the times after the halving will be volatile as well. So, enjoy this stability for as long as it's still here. Smiley

I expect the volatility to be higher around the halving too. The price seems to be waiting for directional cues. There are many people who are waiting on the sidelines and will enter once the direction of price movement becomes clear.
1584  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: April 05, 2016, 03:07:02 AM
These guys probably won't get back to you. They haven't gotten back to me after a week 7+ emails and a transaction log..

Do they ever get back to anyone? I have 1.5 BTC sitting in my account I can't withdraw.
I have been hearing this scenario now and it is quite common now. Are all these sites now cheating members of their sites when they win it big and don't want to allow them to withdraw their winnings?  Shocked
For shame on those site operators. They should be punished on this forum for not being fair to their customers.

There is a reputation risk associated with not honouring your commitments.
People find out and leave, forcing the site to shut down.
1585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to play gambling in a smart way? on: April 05, 2016, 03:04:08 AM
Treat it as an expense (say entertainment expense).
Any money that you win from gambling should be considered a bonus.  Smiley
1586  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can not replace fiat on: April 04, 2016, 02:26:26 PM
Very surely for future the bitcoin will replace fiat because many people or fiat user go change to bitcoin because bitcoin is easy to transact and have many features and benifits you can get. I see the future if fiat is slowly getting down.
No it will not go down bitcoin is still not mature to rise against fiat currencies around the world, for now bitcoin is good for short investments

Where do you live ? I mean the most of country still use their fiat and not easy to change fiat into bitcoin. Although bitcoin has easier transactions, but bitcoin less popularity to replace the fiat.
Here in Phillipines only few people use bitcoin, because of unfamilliar, some poeple dont try bitcoin because its famous in deepweb here.

Well, bitcoin adoption is surely increasing. A year ago, the Phillipines did not even have their own local board here. Now, enough noise was created and the admins decided that granting a separate local board had become overdue.
1587  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam - how can they get away with it so easily ? on: April 04, 2016, 02:24:17 PM
I'm referring to general scams on smart contract on ETH.

My only experience is with the former piggybank where there was an intentional mistake in the code (the % fee was increasing at each deposit and in the end the fee was 100%). I "invested" and it all disappeared now :/

If ethereum and smart contracts are supposed to replace lawyers, then you should pay a premium to ensure that the contract is coded in a bug free way. There is a cost involved in everything.
1588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum pump and dump? on: April 04, 2016, 02:20:52 PM
The only people who think ethereum is a scam are the people that STILL in 2016!! Do not own!!! Any ETH!!!

Ethereum might not be a scam, but I still have my doubts about its price is fair.
A 10x increase in a month's time does not exactly inspire confidence.
1589  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will happen if there's no price rise for the halfing? on: April 04, 2016, 02:15:20 PM
I'm holding bitcoin as investation just like I did on gold. If there are no raising price, Mostly I'm kindda dissappointing and I'm bet that most people will feel the same.
But since I know the risk of holding bitcoin , I can bear of it and will keep holding it until the time has come !

If most people feel disappointed, they will dump their coins. The price will further decline.
We could get into a downward spiral.
1590  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Increase Incoming. on: April 04, 2016, 02:14:09 PM
There will be a price increase that is coming the the next few month and with this price increase many will profit and many will lose so choosing a decision is crucial at this time.

Nobody really knows that price at this point is the most rewarding one later on. The price could very well fall under 400 before pushing upwards,
but i agree that it will surge up with the incoming halving, it's kinda obvious.

If it was so obvious, everybody would just buy bitcoins and profit. There would be no sellers.
The market thinks otherwise, doesn't it?
1591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 04, 2016, 02:04:55 PM
Leicester City still on the best track to be the winner of English Premier League this season. Such an awesome season for them to be on the first place for a long time and hopefuly till the end of this season. Good job for Ranieri that able to bring a good strategy at this team.

No doubt they have a huge lead and look well placed to be the winner this time around.
With 69 points from 32 games, it looks unlikely that they will be overtaken soon.
1592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling is Exploding on: April 04, 2016, 01:50:35 PM
no id verification, just an username and a mail and you can get all the casino games you want, bitcoin is just perfect for online gambling.

There are some gambling sites which use the blockchain and require no username or email too.  Smiley
And no nosey taxman to start enquiries if you have windfall profits.
1593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bangladesh considering abandoning Islam as its official religion on: March 16, 2016, 01:16:56 AM
Secular and independent bloggers are getting chopped up in Bangladesh.
Expect more violence if this move gains momentum.
1594  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bangladesh considering abandoning Islam as its official religion on: March 12, 2016, 11:34:16 AM
Isn't it just a petition filed in court?
Courts are known to admit various wild petitions. So we should just wait and watch on this one.
1595  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lets play a game of Chess on: February 18, 2016, 01:45:31 AM

Normally I would resign here but there may be some players who might learn something by seeing a few more moves.

Opposition is our goal but we cannot achieve it. We want to play Kg6 when white plays Kxg4 but are too slow to do it.

Qxb7+: 3 votes (Morecoin Freeman, marcus1986, XMRpromotions)

Qxb7+ for me as well. I would resign the moment we fail to achieve opposition. Smiley

1596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: February 14, 2016, 03:09:37 AM
why bcz from there is no other way to double your money that's why people will addict this gambling
i think they can join ponzi site for other ways, but This depends on the tastes and interests

Ponzi is just gambling where the house can decide to cheat at any point in time.  Tongue
1597  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you guess about he future of bitcoin? on: January 31, 2016, 01:20:14 PM
If it becomes popular and the demand is really high, the price will definetly rise because of the limited amount of BTC. So if it becomes widely used -> 10k per BTC. Otherwise i think we should see around 800$ after the halving.

If people believe it will reach $800 after the halving. They will start buying now, not wait till the halving.
The halving will most probably pass off without any major changes.
1598  Economy / Speculation / Re: Boring market with no strong movements during Chinese holidays on: January 31, 2016, 01:18:42 PM
I think the bitcoin market will be so boring in the next days with slow price movements because of the upcoming Chinese holidays.
What do you think about these holidays and how it will affect the btc price ?

We might actually find out the true price of bitcoin if the Chinese markets are closed.
Lots of manipulation in those markets.
1599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ? on: January 30, 2016, 01:40:04 PM
Stuff that distract you from gambling: Kids, family & friends, hobbies including gaming (at least you'll be addicted to that rather than addicted to losing your money)

The problem with distractions is that it takes just a second for you to gamble, and you may end up losing quite a bit.
It is important to restrict the access to money which can be used in gambling.
access to money is urgently needed. if we have a lot of money it will not be a problem when we play gambling. the problem is, whether the money will last long?

that's just it. it really doesn't matter how much money you have if you have a gambling problem. you will keep betting and betting until you run out of money and then borrow more money to bet some more. in the end you lose everything and are deep in debt which you can not pay.

Which is why you have to keep a separate wallet for gambling. You have got to stop when that runs out. Strictly no excess gambling and definitely no gambling on borrowed funds.
1600  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of Japan institutes negative interest rates on: January 30, 2016, 01:38:32 PM
Same here. I will not pay a bank to hold my money. I'd rather buy a safecase and store my money inside. To be honest, I will not look into Bitcoin unless I only have a small amount of money. Simply because Bitcoin is unstable.

I am sure negative interest rates won't last for ever.
If the negative interest is lesser than the cost of the safe, people might still prefer the bank.  Smiley
