It is far to unsafe to store any real wealth in for the average person.
I'm an average person. I've been using Bitcoin for over 4 years now. I've never lost a single coin. All it takes is some responsibility. I learned enough (common sense really) to realize that private keys were the "key" to security. After that, it's child's play. Create secure private keys offline, keep them offline, and your bitcoins will be quite secure. Learn a little bit about shamir's secret sharing and you will have an asset that is more secure than any traditional asset known to man. Data is easy to copy, so do it! There is reliable, open source software which will accomplish all your bitcoin security needs without any additional education (beyond the basics I just mentioned) for the user. So... I'll rephrase your post as follows: It is far too unsafe to store any real wealth in for the irresponsible, ignorant, unmotivated person. As it should be. You are not the average person one bit. The average person thinks password1234 is safe.

Greece will get further behind on its targets. More obscene spending cuts will be imposed. The vicious circle continues.
Yup it's hilarious soon they will have zero income and zero things tax is spent on... NOW how are you going to repay a loan on zero earings? Oh you won't lol.

I don't think the halving will do much for us :S . I mine this to help secure the network, some XJO are nice but I am only doing it to protect my fav altcoin!

@26 billion addresses, what does that mean really? I read that there are no more than 1.5 unique bitcoin users worldwide. So what does 'unique' address' means in bitcoin dictionary? As far as I know one individual are not limited by number of bitcoin addresses, you can have (and usually you are in possession of multiple bitcoin addresses, over 100 addresses per user is a norm). Unnamed bitcoin law state that you ccan create new address for every new transaction.
you didn't get it.. It's A LOT more than 26 billion. It's 26 billion addresses PER GRAIN OF SAND.................... It's like 2.6 x 10 ^77 ............................ He is saying.. it's pretty much unlimited.

100 000 transactions per second would make the block chain like 100 terabytes.. game over bitcoin.
We need the time to make side chains to handle small transactions.
The blockchain size would grow slowly. Assuming we experience near the maximum amount of growth permitted by BIP101 (Gavin's proposal), the blockchain size wouldn't be 100 TB until the year 2025-2030. At this point in time, 100 TB may be easily manageable. That's a gamble..

Recently I have read a debate if Bitcoin is a currency or technology. It stated there that it is a technology stock and not a currency since the governments have not approved it as a currency. I wanted to know your opinion in this debate. Is bitcoin a currency, or isn't it?
It's so beyond a currency it's mind blowing. The term doesn't make sense. Bitcoin is a billion times better than a "currency". It's really a new form of money. Most people just can't grasp that and when the world does.. hold onto your bitcoins boys.

Like most things by accident.Yes.
Did that make sense to you?

I'm doubtful that 1 bitcoin will be equal to 5 million USD in my lifetime. That is a hell of a lot of money buddy. I'd settle for 1 bitcoin being 5,000 USD to be honest.
What makes you think 5 million USD bitcoin's are realistic within the next 10-20 years. Don't get me wrong, I hope you're right, I'll be cruising on yachts in Monaco, chilling with models, drinking expensive champagne but I doubt it's likely.
This guy gets it. It WILL be 5 million I agree 100% but I will be dead.

You're right that bitcoin can't be printed when more is needed. You're wrong that bitcoin has real value. The value is perceived because all of us place value upon it...just as we do fiat currency. There is no tangible thing that supports the value of bitcoin, that can prove there is value to it. There's no Gold, no Silver, no other tangible item that exists in the world...just the promise that only so much bitcoin can every be mined and that the validity of transactions and balances are verified by the community that uses it. Gold and silver have effectively zero real value, they really don't. They only are worth such insane amounts because people treat them as money. Bitcoin, USD, Precious metal real value = effectivally nothing.

Removed all drivers,
hard shutdown computer
re-install driver...
keeps moving to port section..
"Silicon labs cp210x USB to UART Bridge (Com4)"
still failing on it doesn't know device
You can try to uninstall the drivers, and remove the actual driver from the system then reinstall. Via the device manager?? I have it running now on my second hard drive... This "silicon labs" bullshit is messing up my stuff.. Do I have to regedit.. god I hope not.

It keeps fucking moving it to the fucking ports.. it's.. how do I stop the POS from thinking it's a fucking serial connection?
Are you seeing this before or after the Zadig installation? It just keeps auto installing something.... :S Plug 1 in and run the Zadig driver. Check DM and confirm the miner is there under USB devices. It keeps jumping to the serial port..... Every time I run the program
