It keeps fucking moving it to the fucking ports.. it's.. how do I stop the POS from thinking it's a fucking serial connection?\

It keeps changing it's dumbass self to "Silicon labs CP210x USB toUART bridge(COM3)
1642  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: zadig driver no longer working... Failed to initalise (Incorrect device) on: August 05, 2015, 10:34:48 PM
I've been mining with an Rbox for some time.. I just formated my computer.. now after I installed the driver via zadig it's giving me some crazy ass errors...

"Icarus detect <8.2> failed to initialise <incorrect device?>

anyone know wtf this means?

I followed
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cATJVLb1P1A&list=UUcqRbsp96-Z3BAu_oSG-TCA
worked every time except now......

Had the same issue. I unplugged all miners but 1, reinstalled the Zadig drivers and one at a time, plugged the devices back into the PC. Look in your Device Manager to confirm they are all there. If not, go through the procedure again, one at a time. Sometimes I have to unplug power, wait a few seconds then plug back in. Usually they start again with in 1-3 minutes.

did you uninstall them via computer manager?

1644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Desktop PC Mining?Something Similar to Cointellect? on: August 05, 2015, 08:20:20 PM
Hello,
Is there any other company/website similar to Cointellect to mine some coins?(Any kind of cryptocurrency)

........... upon googling cointellect.. all I see is scam accusations.. not good.

What is this site.. you connect to it and it "mines" with your computer........?....

Bitcoin (Sha-256) and litcoin (scrypt) are ASIC mined now, doing it with your computer is silly.
1645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin improvements in the future on: August 05, 2015, 08:16:20 PM
1. Doge originally had a limit, but it was decided this was to be removed to encourage mining

2. Absolutely retarded, would most like cause to the price to sink like a stone.

#2.. really?  I didn't think that was that bad of an idea..  why don't you like that idea?

I figure don't change it if it ain't broken but ya.
1646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin improvements in the future on: August 05, 2015, 07:45:01 PM
I completely disagree with the limited supply.  This minimum payout gives miners a reason to keep mining.

Doge is #4.. (I don't count ripple)..

1647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best alternative to blockchain.info? on: August 05, 2015, 06:37:24 PM
From what i've been researching since yesterday's incident (see this if not aware: http://www.coindesk.com/no-satoshi-nakamoto-hasnt-moved-a-thing/) using blockchain.info is not a good idea since it shows inaccurate data. So my question is: what is a the best block explorer out there?

best option is to use 5 explorers. and then use the results to check against each other. that way it validates the results and will always have atleast 3-5 results if one of the services dies off and another gets buggy..

dont rely on just one service

This, so much this.

ALWAYS triple... quadruple check, always.

1650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks were supposed to be frightened of Bitcoin on: August 05, 2015, 05:04:21 PM
They are scared hence the "blockchain good ,bitcoin bad" nonsense they are trying to spin.
1651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gets Equal Billing with Land, Cash, as "Safe Haven" on: August 05, 2015, 05:03:42 PM
In this article they have mentioned that  - Perhaps it is true that gold is no longer a reliable a store of value. Maybe bitcoin, land, or indeed cash, have taken over the as natural refuge in times of turmoil.

This is completely crap, who ever the author of this article do not have a long term view. One should know, gold always have a golden value that no investments can beat because this is a product of nature and limited. May for short period it may fall but surely it will regain its value sooner or later.

There is a possibility people move from gold to bitcoin... I highly doubt we will live to see this movement is completed.
1652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What stops people storing large objects on the blockchain? on: August 05, 2015, 05:02:14 PM
I watched a video and it mentioned "anything can be stored on the blockchain".  My question is if anything can be stored there then what will stop the blockchain size getting so big that nobody could store a copy of it?
Max block size cap is 1mb, thus it can only grow at 1mb / 10 min.

1654  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What wallet should i use? on: August 05, 2015, 03:49:28 PM
If you really want to secure your Bitcoin then use paper wallet just be sure you have a duplicate copy and keep it in a place where it will not get lost. Actually there are still lots of wallets you can use, like desktop walte, mobile wallets or online wallets. But it is necessary to put only there the amount you need or will be using daily. Currently I have paper wallet and I'm using blockchain and coinbase. In my experience they are one of the hottest online wallet.

If you created that wallet on an online computer it is not safe.

1656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hash rate dropped so much? on: August 05, 2015, 03:15:56 PM
It is impossible to know exactly what the global network hash rate is.  There is no verifiable way to count the exact number of hashes each miner on the network has calculated.

Instead, what sites like blockchain.info do is to estimate the hash rate based on the current difficulty and the time between solved blocks.  For a given difficulty, if the time between blocks increases then the site assumes that the hash rate is lower, and if the time between blocks decreases then the site assumes that the hash rate is higher.

While the hash rate my increase or decrease at various times due to many factors (change in bitcoin exchange rate, cheaper access to electricity at certain times, change in mining difficulty, improvements in hardware, etc).  The hash rate indicated on pages such as the one you linked are also effected by the natural variations in time between blocks that occur as a result of the random process of proof-of-work.
Judging by recent events, I would stop looking at blockchain.info for any facts. These guys have been running a flawed system to display transactions as seen with the current satoshi-addresses incident. Who knows what else they did wrong.

...................
did you even read bro?
It's not possible to really know.. the system will always be "flawed" for figuring out hash rate...

wait so can i actually go to bitaddress.org disconnect my internet connection then create a wallet turn browser off and i will have a cold wallet?

You can download that webpage as a file and run that file on an offline computer with internet explorer.  You don't need to be connected to the web to use IE.

YES you could, download bitaddress.org, disconect your computer, create it and it's... offline until you reconnect your computer to the web..... It's only semi cold using this method.  As I said if your comp has malaware it's just going to record your keystrokes and forward it to the hacker when you reconnect.

HOWEVER this method will stop people that are connect to your comp watching it or just sending live key strokes.

Semi cold is way better than hot.

By your definition, all addresses generated outside of a faraday cage would be considered "semi-cold".

I agree.  Perhaps.. almost cold if you're not in a faraday cage. Funny you mentioned that, I have been thinking about that for some time lmao.

1660  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What wallet should i use? on: August 04, 2015, 08:22:05 PM
So i recently saw a bug with blockchain.info  and im a newbie on bitcoin wallets so i decided to move my wallet from there. I would like to use a wallet that is safe and that can be recovered in case of loosing it or something like that. Any suggestions what should i use?

I think it mostly depends on the amount you intend to keep in a wallet. Web wallets should be considered 'hot', holding just enough for what you need to use daily (check out Coinbase). Mobile wallets are also considered hot (check out Bitcoin Wallet on Android, Breadwallet on iOS or Mycelium). Any considerable amount of coins should be stored in a 'cold' wallet - one without access to the internet (check out Paper Wallets, Hardware Wallets or specialized software like Armory).
i checked out armory software though it says that i should store the cold wallet on a computer without internet access and i have only one pc... paper wallets are not ok for me as i can easily loose it and hardware wallets need buying stuff. also any ideas about multibit? is it also a hot wallet?

Sure it is, run bitaddress.org on an offline computer, encyrpt it, print the thing to PDF, copy the PDF EVERYWHERE.

Bam, offline.  As long as you use a good encryption method and a good passphrase.  bitaddress.org comes with the ability to encrypt and decrpyt.

HONESTLY, bitcoin-qt offline will work just fine as well.  Don't need the blockchain to create private/public keys.

You've neglected to mention that you need to use an adequate amount of entropy when generating addresses, else the fact that your wallet is encrypted doesn't do you any good.

Very true, don't enter 1 a bunch of times lol, the random mouse movements should be pretty darn random lol.
