So here we are, hovering just below $4000 without the slightest sign of FOMO. Everybody just watching without not fucking idea if it is gonna go up or down next, or what it is going to do after that.

So many possible scenarios... What will it be? Bleh, just let it be.

HODL.

Bitcoin is the equivalent of dating a stripper...first she teases and seduces you...and you wonder...is it all just an act? or does she mean it this time

or poof! is it all a dream? The drama is the same for the BTC mood swing equivalent it seems.

edit:

The price on my Bitcoin ticker as I type this went from to $4,000 USD just now...er crap...just went to $4,028 and now back to $3,981...wtf?

What was that a $4k 3 second breach? bummer...ack! $3,974 someone is dumping it seems.

I think Bitcoin is more like the perfect woman who has done nothing but make you more wealthy but instead of appreciating her you spend years posting mostly fear posts, complaints, bummer posts, etc, and eventually she leaves you(causes you to panic dump her) to make a man with stronger hands wealthy.  Roll Eyes

Why not make negative posts about fiat every week and how it has done nothing for you your whole life but lose purchasing power?

Gratitude determines your latitude.  Wink

ah ..it is less about that and more about basic confusion? and also a lot of this is 'tongue in cheek' ... ie back to confusion...

I'm retired on cypto it is just dandy...but to say the road is straight and whales are not playing price games and to deny the drama (good and bad)

well that is just silly IMHO

my posts are NOT meant to make such a huge effect on folks perceptions..this is the WO thread last I looked.....where everything is gone into the wind

within about 12 posts in 3 min?

MyEtherWallet (MEW), and crypto finance platform, Bity, have unveiled a fully-regulated crypto-to-fiat withdrawal system which doesn’t require users to pass Know-Your-Customer (KYC) checks.

The “Exit-to-Fiat gateway” will allow cryptocurrency holders to exchange their digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether, into euros (EUR) or Swiss francs (CHF). The current limit for KYC-less transfer is anywhere up to 5,000 CHF, roughly $5,000 at the present exchange rate.

“This Exit-to-Fiat gateway is a gamechanger for cryptocurrency users around the world because it allows people to exchange crypto to fiat without needing to be KYC verified,” said Kosala Hemachandra, CEO and Founder of MEW, in a press release.

https://cryptobriefing.com/myetherwallet-kyc-less-exchange/

on the face of the above 1) sounds iffy as hell 2) a neat way to skim some crypto coins 3) maybe really won't work that way for long due to KYC laws and getting slam'd by law enforcement.

I'd not touch this without a lot and I mean a lot more info

the return to ATH on BTC starts here!

(3....2....1....) engage!

where's that suddenly bullishness coming from??

unrecognisable  ?  Tongue

Sorry....backslid... I am bipolar in my attempts to understand bitcoin... Sad

I did, however, get back 4 BTC or so of my panic sell like a 9-year-old girl dump at $3,695, so due to real-world issues am ONLY

down 8 BTC (was the right thing to do in hindsight...selling those 8 BTC at the time... but stings yet)

BUT NOW ALL IS FORGIVEN.....

the price is at $3,975...thus an entire $10 above the above price I sold on my 'slip of faith'

so surely, BTC will pump to the ATH now? right?

I mean it is $10 more now, surely, that is a sign from the crypto gods to an ATH with BTC right?

(consider the source however sitting in underwear, retired 3 years early on crypto, typing this on bitcointalk...watching it snow 9" now with another 9" to 12" this weekend...

I may be delusional because of 'excessive winter' FYI)

so you're telling me, i have to start a lightning node to stay in the game ??  Roll Eyes  Kiss

 Not necessary.

Meta: Again, fucking OpSec... Here I am, fucking retired, loafing around on a Wednesday afternoon, doing abso-fucking-lutely nothing but getting smashed on Greyhounds, trolling Twitter, and thinking to myself "Why bother ? Just connect to my node, bro. I'll front-run you. I rank. Honest. No-Homo."

Alcohol will be my ultimate undoing, I fear.

PS: Theymos. I know we've had our differences in the distant past, but, I love you man. No homo. Honest.

It is like we are 'twins'.

lol apparently list is dead...oh wait, aside from the ONE pump it had, it always was and has been dead shit LOL

If you got LISK at the 25c per lisk ICO it is worth holding (kinda) also if you are one of 101 elites forging lisk you can make income/profit...

as to the rest of us...(hell even the ICO folk who got Lisk) the price almost, IMHO, has to pump at least to $5 a LISK to get back on its

feet and compete with other coins...

less than 50/50 shot IMHO of that happening even with a pump in the next year...would like to be wrong..but can't see it

The $200 coupons cover the shipping cost.  Smiley

don't forget above the shipping costs the 2.7% import fee and 25% tarriff to the USA..

just saying you can't forget about that on top of shipping or you are gonna cry,cry,cry...

1690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3 - 250mh - 400watt Scrypt miner coming soon on: February 20, 2019, 07:36:48 PM
this is old, now you can get the new Bitmain Antminer L3+ Litecoin ASIC miner and it has double the speed (250mh x 2):

https://www.eyeboot.com/bitmain-antminer-l3-litecoin-scrypt-asic-miner.html

Well if you need the heat I suppose $99 is ok. It’s a bit surprising that so many scrypt miners are still mining. Low price for electricity or people have high hopes...

litecoin halving is coming and there is a limited supply of scrypt miners out there...the only two that are mass produced being the Bitmain Antminer L3+ 500mh series and the Futurebit Apollo 100mh pod miner.

The sad point is up till Feb 14th, when I shut off my last KNC Titan Scrypt Miner with 13 cubes in my basement, the KNC Titan mining Scrypt-N Fujicoin (FJC)

I was making a profit, IF YOU COUNTED THE HEAT I SAVED THIS WINTER, but alas, even at these prices...I finally fell $50 below a month on the heat savings and shut

them off...

now if the Apollo could do scrypt n ..yep, you probably would make a profit yet, but with knc titans ONLY ASIC units doing scrypt-N coins....even those days are numbered

I really doubt that pow scrypt will come back in any way (LTC included) for at least 1 year.

Even if someone gave me a scrypt miner (L3+) or whatever, I could not make anything on this unit. IMHO, we need  a 50% increase in LTC price for that to happen

20% would be due to the difficulty wise of everyone turning on their old bitmain L3+'s again and in the USA...May 15th electric prices go up 1/3 almost or so...

In my case that is 9.75c kWh according to last month's bill to what it was last year (or more) of 15.6c kWh for Summer rates...

So, I'm like an experienced 6 year Zepplin Pilot with crypto mining...grounded....all that experience of no use now....and likely at best to stay that way for LTC mining at

least for 1-2 years if not forever..(I am despondent) Sad An 'Airship' Pilot with no 'current' useful skills indeed! Sad

my take on this...of course I hope I'm dead wrong or we have a 100% increase in LTC price to make the above argument moot....but I kinda doubt it...at least in the short term

scrypt pow and LTC mining wise

but what do I know I'm a grounded obsolete former Zepplin captain.... Sad

1691  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 20, 2019, 04:01:03 AM

Well BTC finally approaching the price of my 13 BTC panic dumping like a 9-year-old girl (insert screaming and such here) a month or two back?

I 'panic' dumped/sold at $3,965 usd.

Now it is at $3,934.06 for BTC at this moment.

Well, sold some equipment so got it down now to only about 9 BTC down from the 13 BTC down since the 'episode'

20/20 hindsight was still the right thing to do. Hard to type that even if true for real-world reasons.

By mentioning that it is NOT quite there yet, my BTC sold at $3,965 price... I likely jinxed it. My Bad, in advance.

Anyone else get some of their BTC back in the 'doldrums' of BTC prices below 4k? that sold below 4k? But recovered some back on wish/prayer?

Anyway, 9 BTC down (or 4 back at less than my above sale 13 BTC panic sale) is better than I expected during my 'loss of faith" on the 13 BTC dump.

knock wood

Going to break 4k, are we?

Didn't we already do that a month or so ago?
I fail to see the wow factor in that, just normal volatility.

Yep. All this hope on a tiny, tiny, green birthday candle bar....ack! scared self ack!

1693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: February 18, 2019, 04:29:25 AM
is anyone still using lisk?

good question. I left months ago.
we would like to know practical uses of this coin.

What are you whining about? Ever tried to build a working functional dapp platform? Even Charles Hoskinson from Cardano team said a year ago that no one should expect a working product till 2020 on Cardano platform.

do I understand from your phrase that there is no working product until now for lisk ?

it appears that nobody is answering this central question.

i think they have and it would appear to be a no.

so apparently nobody to fight for lisk here.

Just to add 'wood' to this fire. I've never seen an anyone using javascript with LISK on this thread ever. You'd think at least SOMEONE
would be on here saying how they are messing with it?

'what if you build a coin for javascript developers and no one shows up to the party?'

1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: February 17, 2019, 03:11:32 AM
If bitcoin will follow its pattern, the coin might witness another 20-fold increase in next years.
It means bitcoin might set up its new all time high.
What happened in 2017?
BTC reach $20000, that was around 20 time-fold rise from its price in early months of 2017, around $100.
In other words, I think BTC might hit only $20000 x 20 times ~ $ 400.000 in 2021, not too high as you predicted over $800.000.  Smiley
Somewhere around 2021 mid june to july you will see it crossing ATH around 400 USD for litecoin and 20000 usd for bitcoin and by the end of 2021 you will see  close to 1 million usd rise for bitcoin which litecoin would be around 6500 to 7000 usd. litecoin however would have bitcoin price movement.

IMHO, we need a lot of traction..some of it just to stay sideways in price

1) newbies...which there are none

2) ETF/or other major adoption news of some note

I myself figure, we are in the GOLD zone price wise and could go sideways for the next 1.5 to 2 years. This for the same reason gold has been sideways

more or less these last years...but with BTC it may make a bit MORE sense for it to be at 3k vs gold's price in its usefulness

but, nobody seems to be 'Window Shopping' for any crypto BTC/LTC or whatever...thus Crypto Winter in my case I'm figuring 2 years for LTC or BTC or

whatever to get back on the horse and gallop. *unless the horse dies or Craig Wright is Satoshi for BTC and shoots the horse*

as usual, I hope LTC will pump first and show BTC out of the fog..but damn this is annoying

shut my 12 cubes down mining FJC on KNC Titans...

not making enough with heat vs electric (9.75c kWh) to make sense anymore...certainly not at 1 satoshi

anyone want any knc titan equipment let me know (heat and/or better electric rates)...I have 'lots' besides the stuff in bsmt Sad

not sure what to charge make an offer via pm

anyway, 12 cubes down on the FJC network has to help somebody on here..
I have like 10 million FJC in case it pumps again to 2 satoshis from current like 17 million FJC on all exchanges at 1 Satoshi the last 2 months

vs as buyers at like 50 million or more FJC on the exchanges for sale at above 1 satoshi per FJC.

thus that is plenty if the coin comes back (doubtful) the 10,000,000 FJC is worth at $3,631 BTC price now or at 1 Satoshi of as this moment is 0.1 BTC or

$363.10 for my above 10 million or $36.31 per 1 million FJC...so I hold that for giggles, but anyway...I'm out of mining .

.not sure what is gonna happen to this coin if/when/ever

USA winter rates lapse to summer rates (May 15th keep this date in mind if your in USA and mining coin... in my case winter rates electric is 9.75 kWh and Summer

rates at least last year was 15.60c kWh.....or about

1/3 more...when May 15th rolls around ..you may have to go masternodes and pos coin, soon with FJC, when all the pow mining knc titans (ASICs) croak

anyway, enjoy the increase in coin mined...i'm gone from mining FJC ...now all my miners since 2013 are now officially 'doorstops' or sold Sad

(this is what it must have felt like when you spent 6 years of your life as a capt of a Zepplin airship...poof all that miner knowledge of no real use anymore

for either modest data halls and/or home mining..indeed we are men/women whose time has passed it seems...we are all frigging out in the world like Zepplin

Airship Captains a 5.5 year skill set of no use anymore. Sad

anyway good luck with the more FJC you are making, those of you left, I'm out...and again ..anyone can/or wants any of my titan stuff pm me

later

not a lot of 'newbies' or anyone on this thread below 'full members' it seems...

just an aside, seems not a lot of newbies, doing what I did, touch my toes in the water on this WO thread...

was kinda surprised actually...now I went and depressed myself a bit, no moon, w/o some newbie excitement

it was just done as a way to flag a donation and for no other real reason. ie ..contribute to the Bitcointalk fund/cause as it were?

anyway, thoughts on this, if it is insane/just silly/or for the above I want to contribute some BTC to Bitcointalk reasons mentioned above.

hello, i'm trying to restore an old wallet from seed, how to do it?   thanks, can't find a shortcut on the UI

just install the last SIA UI - https://sia.tech/get-started, run it and insert your seed
is simple as that

have tried 4 times..have never even got an original wallet to work on any windows machine...so ...never could get the wallet to install and work with passkey

if it is that screwed up to make a sia wallet I'll likely just dump the coins to btc...I mean what  a cluster

their paper wallet is also not supported and amateur

which is why i have issues with sia-tech and sia-coin..they in no way are 'taking care of the basics'

just pumping put hardware

not to mention they said they would pay back some btc to purchasers (late) of obelisk machines at the end of Jan 2019

so..good intentions or not it is amateur hour compared to other coins IMHO

1699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FujiCoin 3.0 | Japan | Since 2014 | BlockBid - Bleutrade - Cryptopia on: February 10, 2019, 02:35:03 AM
Add mimblewimble would be my suggestion...supposedly Litecoin is doing so and it is a major clone of Bitcoin...

as mimblewimble was originally designed for Bitcoin...this would be a nice 'hook' for attention for FJC from the rest of the altcoin herd. IMHO.

brad

edit: I realize that would not mean the end of current public FJC use as the same for LTC use. But it with LTC will probably

involve a wallet option like DASH for private transactions. Thus (I'm assuming) this is the angle for current coins to implement.

Giving the wallet holder a choice on which distribution system to use on their coin with mimblewimlble the 'legacy' public version or a 'private' version on

a transaction.

again, all supposition on my part .but seems to keep with the rumors I've heard (for what it is worth as a mental exercise)

If possible I think that would be something good to integrate.  Anon is not a bad thing towards looking at for fjc, and possibly some different exchanges to add to market liquidity

my view is FJC needs more to differentiate itself from the other bitcoin altcoins. Eventually (It has been 4.5 years or so since the ASIC KNC Titans..that are the ONLY ASICs

to my knowledge that can do scrypt-N coins (FJC) ...eventually they will die out cube by cube...so without new innovations to move FJC out of the pack..I'm afraid it will

simply fade. The KNC Titan's were NEVER robust and prone to melting power plugs and other issues. (notice how you see few on eBay...because the blew up)

Anyway, innovate or die ...FJC has 'copied' enough IMHO, time to try some new stuff. At worse it will be an add on novelty. At best it will pump the coin to more legitimate uses.

my 2 satoshi's worth

brad

I think that it is impossible to introduce mimblewimble to Fujicoin. There is no concept of address in mimblewimble. So it is impossible to connect with already constructed block chains.
Anonymity is an important qualification of the current fiat currency. I think that is preferable. However, the Japanese government has determined that it will be used for money laundering and is excluded from the whitelist of the crypto currency.
So I'm not going to make Fujicoin anonymous crypto currency.  Smiley

Again, to my point. FJC better  have somehing as a hook and innovative to carry on its function within the next year..when the knc titans go poof from age (4.5 years plus) ..just saying....2014 ideas are not that big a deal

with all the BTC clones direct..besides FJC...and i think mimblewimble will be added to the wallet for private transactions or at least I think that is what LTC is going for ...not the main chain..

but irregardless, without some kind of new hook FJC is likely toast when the KNC Titans go away...no way worth mining at GPU with the ASIC difficulty pump..so masternodes, mimblewimble, not sure what..but something

new has to happen or it is just the same as hundreds of bircoin clones...with the only difference is in the scrypt -n algo.

sad to say...knc asic titans revived the coin..but that can only go so long IMHO

brad

edit: mimblewimble may not be a good choice for the simple reason that MOST bitcoin clone coins will add this..i was told being originally designed for BTC ..but not done it is an easy hook..so I expect with the 95%

dump in price for most btc clone altcoins and not much to lose the vast majority will add this option, at least in wallet, as the LTC folk are doing...it right or wrong due to ease of addition is gonna be common as hell

so maybe it would make no diff if FJC does not have such...but FJC will have to evolve in some manner or it dies when the knc titans eventually 'croak' and die first.

https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/blob/82cacfef8100809ad950b48a01db98e52a6f6877/src/crypto/scrypt.cpp#L271

This is the code of Litecoin's algorithm scrypt. There are 1024 numbers in two places. This indicates the iteration count of the operation. Fujicoin has this number 2048. Simply it is the difference. In other words, Litecoin is scrypt-n (n = 10) and Fujicoin is scrypt-n (n = 11).
Is not the ASIC chip for scrypt making this iteration number programmable? If so, setting the number of iterations is a work of the driver software. So, the manufacturer supplying the scrypt ASIC can supply the driver software for Fujicoin quite easily?

been tried since 2013 onward. there are memory considerations for scrypt-n that makes it NOT do'able with out a complete asic remake for scrypt-n specific (like knc titans) thus not gonna happen...not with the only

2 exchanges and 10x the sell vs 1x the buy on the only 2 exchanges still having FJC. Indeed almost 2/3 of all FJC for sale now is only 1 satoshi...and no coin on any exchange continues to be listed a 1 satoshi.

contact gentraken on here and lightfoot ..they are the ones that looked into this in the past and where I get my info from (lightfoot? reply?)

No way will anyone make a FJC or other scrypt N coin for ONLY 1 coin or at these prices...any NEW ASIC miner and for above reasons, old miners can't be tweaked,

also remember electric for knc titans in the usa goes to summer rates on may 15th (in my case 33% increase with no more

winter heat in the basement benifits) ...again, IMHO it is too little too late..but we will see ...chump or champ that is how this kinda thing usually shakes out

thanks for the reply big_daddy, but that isn't working ... i had dL'd v.1.1.1 somewhere - thanks for the headsup

i remember a wizard would run on f/r, so i renamed the sia folder and started the new wallet, but no wiz ... how to start it?

nvm, i found the button on the new wallet   Grin

I've tried 4x and can't get the wallet to install...it asks for pswd...i cut paste or put it in by hand..it never takes have talked to others it has taken them 6 to 8 tries...(i stopped at  4 tries)

this may be the ASIC gods telling me to dump it into BTC as soon as possible in that they don't even have a wallet that works on an install

any pm's on how this is done is welcome...(be warned have tried most I've been told by the above folk who tried 6 - 8x before it worked)

p.s. currently my siacoin (from mining obelisk sc1's which at 2 months doorstops..i managed to sell and get the btc back I put into them, along with 1.25 million or so siacoin)

my buddy from the sale

he is patiently holding my siacoin on his wallet (one of the guys who got it to work above) ...thus again, should probably say screw this and have him sell it for btc

not impressed with their wallet

and even less impressed with their fly by night paper wallet (not supported)

yet another sign of them simply pumping hardware w/o a lot of other progress IMHO..

sheesh
