Still got mine.

Let's go buyers!   UNO below $5 is a bargain. .02 is inevitable.
1782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 28, 2015, 03:53:49 PM
Ferdous stepped in last October to pay the MintPal server bills at the last second. Without his intervention we would not have received any Uno.
1783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: February 28, 2015, 01:18:09 PM
what's going on with mintpal? Dancing like Coinex? Shifting blame? Nobody in charge? How many Uno is missing? I was able to withdraw all mine. What's the damage? Not more than 1 ton from everyone combined, is it? Hope everyone was able to withdraw their uno.

edit:
found this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824211.0

it says 255 uno missing (2btc worth / roughly 0.05% of all the missing funds)

... less than 0,2% of supply. Won't have such a negative impact on the market like coinex did, which is good news. 255 is much less than i would have thought. Well done containing the damage as much as possible, everyone!
I've been keeping a private tally as people let me know about their MP losses. I know it is at least 500 Uno.  255 of that was me, trying to provide some liquidity for that market.
It would be easy to estimate at least 2 thousand Uno on MP (maybe more), based on what I remember about the order book.  I don't think there was gigantic amount of Uno entrusted to MP, but certainly enough to account for some large recent dumps.

One of the original MP founders wrote today that some altcoin cold storage wallets were retrieved from MP v1 servers. He stepped up to pay the server bill out of his own pocket so they wouldn't be destroyed by the hosting company. I asked him today if Uno was among those recovered and am hoping he gives a response.

So their  'coldstorage' wasn't a coldstorage at all? Interesting.
They may not have had enough Uno to bother with cold storage.
I've been digging around in the rockchain based on a few transfers I made to and from MP. It all seems to lead to just hot wallets and not cold storage.

I think this is a list of MP hot wallets, based on Chainz' taint function:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/uno/wallet.dws?54813.htm

If you sent Uno to MintPal, do you find any of your MP deposit addresses in this list?

Its all just speculation. I should have kept better records I guess. If these tainted wallets really are connected to MP, we're looking at only about 1320 Uno left out there. It makes my head hurt to try and follow this stuff.

Wow, we were close! Great sluething by the community!
We estimated "1320 Uno left out there."
Ferdous Bhai confirmed there were 1383.149350 kg/Un on MintPal.

Not bad for a bunch of amateurs like us.

Holy Tomole!  I just got my Mintpal UNO back!!!  !!!  Wow!  FallingKnife - YOU DA' MAN!

FK's getting a finder's fee, as soon as I get an UNO address from him!
Ferdous Bhai is da man, and he doesn't want a finder's fee. Gustav had initially contacted him.

Go "invest" it on Cryptopus dice.  Cheesy

Ferdous sent this email tonight to MintPal customers on record with Uno.

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

Dear MintPal Customer,

A few months ago, MintPal Exchange, the popular cryptocurrency exchange, fell apart due to alleged fraud and embezzlement by a con artist going by the name "Alex Green"/Ryan Kennedy/Ryan Gentle, CEO of Moolah LTD. Moolah was responsible for management of MintPal at the time.

As a shareholder of the company that acquired MintPal prior to its fallout, I have gained access to the old servers of MintPal where some of the wallet backups were stored. $UNO is one of the altcoins where the wallet balances seem to be intact, presumably due to an oversight by Ryan. All other major altcoin wallets appear to be empty. There is a criminal investigation ongoing regarding Moolah and Ryan Kennedy/Gentle, and we are working with law enforcement to seek retribution for our customers.

It took me some time due to all the legal hurdles surrounding this case to send you this email, and while the criminal and civil cases against Ryan are far from over, I no longer wish to remain the custodian of coins that belong to you.

The recovered database indicates that you have $UNO coins in your MintPal wallet. In order to process the withdrawal of these coins, please respond to this email by Mar 31 and include the following information:

1) Your new $UNO deposit address in your sole control where I can return your coins.

2) Estimated amount of $UNO coins in your MintPal wallet. Leave blank if you can't remember. I have your record from the MintPal database back up taken prior to migration to V2.

Regards,
Ferdous

Closing in on 1M marketcap again. Didn't expect that so soon.
Worst part is none of my buy orders got hit. Missed the last dumps due to vacation, now it looks like no sellers are left. Where are the potatoheads when you need them?!

No infinite potato stash apparently. Potato man needs to save up some for later me thinks. Cheap Uno is sold out. No more.

Well if uno turns out to be what some of the people here expects it to be.  Uno is still cheap right now
Few coins have the longevity, community and history that Uno has. The longer this coin lives, the more interesting and valuable it becomes. MintPal will soon be just another story about how Uno overcame adversity.
1788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / MintPal Update on: February 28, 2015, 02:47:19 AM
Hey guys,
Interesting evening.  I spent an hour on Skype with Ferdous Bhai, the founder of MintPal.

Since "Alex Green" was arrested, Ferdous came into control of some of the MintPal private keys. He has a big mess on his hands and he's making a huge effort do return lost coins to their owners.
Tonight I was able to recover my lost Uno on MintPal!  I'm glad I kept good records/screen shots of my MintPal account before it went down. It sure helped me tonight.

If you have UNO on MintPal, PM me the email address for your account, and the amount you have out there if you know it.

Ferdous believes there were 1383 Uno on MP when it went down. It appears most if not all should be recoverable, although there's an oddity in that some of the coins in their wallet were not confirmed for some reason. But it's looking good right now.

It was very lucky that there is UNO still in the wallets. Ferdous said, "(It) is surprising Because most other wallets I checked are empty."

Sadly there wont' be good news for all altcoins, but right now it appears that many (or all) of us who own Unobtanium will be getting some back.

Thanks to Gustav who had reached out to Ferdous and put us in touch.

Again -- watch for the email from Ferdous.  But I now have direct Skype line to him, and I will be glad to use it help you get your Uno back.

Regarding Ferdous Bhai, I can't thank him enough. His honesty and integrity shine through. "Alex Green" duped him just like he did the rest of us. The guy was a damn good con-man. It would have been really easy for Ferdous to say "Screw it all." But here he is, taking time out on a Friday evening to return valuable Unobtanium to a stranger. It would have been easier for him to just keep the Uno and say "Nah, the wallets were empty." But that's not what's happening.

I have never found myself in the midst of a shitstorm quite the size of MintPal, but if I ever do I hope can muster the integrity that Ferdous Bhai showed us tonight.

@FallingKnife

A.
We should load up the bus an do One Week Road Show on reddit/r/crypto(s)
either March 15 or April 15
goal 1 - promote & annoy Wink
goal 2 - get /r/unobtanium on the sidebar of /r/cryptomarkets

That's a great idea! Would you guys play along?

What do we call it?  The Rush to Reddit? Or stick with the "invasion" theme?

March 15 works for me.

Did you guys see Furry's latest video?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P2FB9Mg_YI

He tells how to trade coins. Lol!

I know some guys can't wait to jump in and out of alts like Uno, and get back to Bitcoin. They are "Babysitting Bitcoin."
I prefer let my Uno ride.
1792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / $5 on: February 26, 2015, 05:39:32 AM
Uno is $5 coin, on sale right now for $3.50.

I really believe that.

@FallingKnife, I could have sworn you mentioned in a post over on CryptoCoinTalk a pool that had agreed to the merge mining thing with UNO, BTC, NMC (and I think something else) if/whenever merge mining comes to fruition, but I couldn't find it after trying all kinds of searches.

If so, what was the pool's name, and does it currently offer pure UNO mining as well?

Speaking of, any ETA on merge mining?  Are we waiting for Blazr2 to reappear and chime in?

I'm psyched for it.

I'm psyched, too! But I think I had first mentioned it here at Bct that I had discussions with a merged mining pool.
I have been talking with mmpool.org. They have twice confirmed their interest in Uno. mmpool is at 250 ths this moment.
They don't presently offer solo mining on Uno. They are merge mining only.
Waiting on BW. He's working on the next update right now.
BW also may be launching a mm pool. It's being considered.
I'd love to hear from Blazr2, but after a long debate, the wheels are in motion now. I wish he had been part of it.

Precious metals are becoming sort of an oxymoron in my opinion. What's so precious about gold? It serves a purpose in some electronics, but so does copper and other cheaper metals. You say it has scarcity? Only temporarily. We could extract more from earth but it isn't even that profitable anymore now that Cryptos are on the scene. If you want to collect something physical that is  considered "precious" with intrinsic value, look into rare minerals.

Once cryptos become a little more mainstream, I'm thinking UNO could easily integrate with the precious mineral community.

I realize this comes off as a bit crazy, but when you consider the innovation around 3d printers, we're looking at a world where just about anything can be produced with ease, except for a few things such as minerals and Cryptos.
Interesting thought.

Yes, Uno is not easily reproduced.

UNO encompasses several inherent assets, and longevity is among them.  The longer there is a community that values Uno, I see that as a vetting process, a reduction of risk. Longevity can only be earned one day at a time.  A crypto launched yesterday has a lot of risk; one launched in 2013, less risk.

Hi Patman,

Yes, it will be with Bitcoin.

That's good news, looking forward to it. Good to see UN doing so well still, merge mining will only make it stronger  Smiley
Thanks for the vote of confidence.

The idea was vetted here for quite a long time. We talked through lots of different ideas. Some people still aren't thrilled about it, but in the end it was the best idea for securing the block chain. It's something within our control.
