1801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Metaverse a bubble? on: January 21, 2022, 05:09:46 PM
When basic technologies such as AR and VR are not yet mature, are all the metaverse projects in the market a bubble?
I do think of the possibility of the metaverse being used by a lot of people around the world. Even the VR and AR that we have today, you’d hardly see anyone making use of it, except just a few people who are able to afford it for themselves. And it is being said that the Metaverse is not yet fully out, and like you have said, we are going to be needing computers with huge capacities to be able to run this metaverse.

Having such computers means extra cost, so how many people would be able to afford such computer? If people wouldn’t be able to afford having access to the metaverse, then what would be the need for it? Although I do know that the rich would be able to afford such easily.
1802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 20, 2022, 05:52:34 PM
By the way, yeah. Inter had a really difficult game yesterday and could have lost to Empoli also. After seeing that Empoli turned the game around very nicely, I was thinking like Inter would be eliminated. They still managed to advance to the next stage of the tournament despite Empoli's awesome effort. And I think that this proves how much Inter want the Coppa Italia title also. But when the Champions League starts again, we will see how much Inter will be able to care about the Coppa Italia.
I do not think that it really worths something for Inter to lose in the cup though. They are doing fine in the league and the league is not over and far from easy for them so if they got eliminated from the cup then they could put all their interest towards the league which would have been awesome for them. Otherwise I do not think that winning both the cup and the league is that much realistic at this season, they are not "that" good.

As long as they win the league they would be fine, that is good enough money for them to survive. Milan could get the cup, which they deserve and that way both good teams would have something to show for this year.
1803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 20, 2022, 05:08:29 PM
It seems like that Bayern Munich are willing to sell Robert Lewandowski this summer if he decides not to renew his contract. His contract is lasting until June 2023 for now. And there was some rumours in the previous transfer window also like he would leave the team. But this time, maybe this can get real. I remember Bayern Munich's statement about him and Haaland that they wouldn't go for Haaland as long as they have Lewandowski. But in case he leaves, then Bayern Munich would definitely be one of the strongest candidates to sign Haaland this summer.
I mean he is definitely getting older, so it makes sense to sell him instead of lose him for nothing. However, I also do not get why they couldn't agree on a renewed contract neither. I mean he shouldn't ask insane amounts anyway, and they should pay him what he asks if it is reasonable. Either one party or the other doesn't ask something reasonable, either the team offered too low or Lewa asked too much.

By the looks of it, if he leaves, he is not going to make too much money anywhere else neither, who would pay a 34-35 year old Lewa insane amount of money? Sure he would be paid millions, which is insanely high when compared to normal person, but not 20+ million or something. Yearly 10 million for someone at that age is more than enough if you ask me.
1804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 20, 2022, 03:40:01 PM
KL Rahul looks clueless when leading the team. Witnessed multiple times in IPL, in last test against SA and now this ODI. They added Venkatesh as all rounder in the team and they didn't even bother to give him 2-3 overs? If he's not bowling then why add him in the playing XI, add another full time batter instead, if that's your gameplan.
Yeah, it seems the new skipper's decision making was the reason for the defeat in the first ODI even India got decent start initially. I guess Venkatesh Iyer should open for India and KL Rahul at four. Also, I guess Instead of playing 2 spinners in South Africa, India need to go with one more pacer to have better bowling attack. India need to fix many things to stay alive in this oneday series not sure how Dravid and Rahul combo going to address at this crucial time.

Probably India will make 2 or more changes to have better approach on both batting and bowling still KL Rahul's plans on high pressure times is a key here. In my opinion also, KL Rahul did few questionable decisions in IPL's last 2 seasons.
1805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you use stable coins? on: January 20, 2022, 02:53:08 PM
I can see using stable coins as a trading pair to purchase alts on a dex but I don't understand holding stable coins for longer periods of time like weeks, months or years as a store of value; to me this feels way too risky. What am I missing?
There will be absolutely no point on holding stable coins for any period of time. Probably in stead of holding fiats, you may prefer to hold stablecoin but it will be too risky as stablecoins are not regulated ones hence any problem may occur at any time. I am also making use of stablecoins for trading purposes as my local exchange is not having a fiat based trading pair for any cryptocurrency.

Stable coins help us raise money safely. that's why i use Stable Coin. Specially USDT
You meant crowdfunding? I am sure not most people here are into such activities to use stablecoins. I guess, instead of fiats that you are using stablecoins to raise funds for your projects; yeah, we can use stablecoins anywhere we need to use dollars.
1806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It won't hurt on: January 20, 2022, 10:33:08 AM
I've also had that kind of experience with other coins. I used to hold a lot but got impatient and ended up selling it before it boomed. That was really regretful yet served a lesson for me. Both Shiba and Doge has a huge potential but holding these coins really needs patience especially if your target goal is good for the long run. As of now, Shiba needs more improvements and adoptions that will have a positive impact on the coin.
The kind of opportunity that came with Dogecoin and SHIB is the kind that comes once in a while. And it is something that happens when you least expect it to happen. So, let’s say that you decide to buy these coins and keep them in your wallet, how long would you be able to hold these coins ,is it going to be two years, five years, or ten years?

And what if it is something that is going to repeat again in the next 15 years, would you be able to hold for that long? So that should be the question. And another thing you also have to know is that new trends are coming out almost every year in the cryptocurrency market, and they might likely clear out this old coins or projects, just like we already have the Metaverse and NFT.
1807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 19, 2022, 09:58:16 PM
Obviously it was a head to head result with Sevilla domination and also, if we consider with the results so far this season Sevilla are still promising a win rather than a draw. Sevilla itself is still the second best team when playing away, it can be a strong motivation for them to continue trailing Real Madrid at the top of the standings. Several times Valencia have lost and drawn when they played at home against mediocre teams and with that, I believe Valencia is not strong enough to hold Sevilla this time, so I personally believe that Sevilla will win here.
Even if sevilla wins, there is really nothing they could to catch a team like Real Madrid. All these people who want to see Sevilla to win the league are probably Barcelona fans, because I do not believe that there are this many sevilla fans in bitcointalk. I believe that Real winning the league is the best outcome, I am not from spain and I am not fan of either team, ideally for me Barcelona and Real should always be the top two teams, why? Because they are already great and if they are great and get more money than they will stay great.

By Sevilla winning, we are making sure a team that will not be great in a year end up getting the money Real should have gotten, which is not ideal if you ask me. This is why I believe that good teams should get better when other teams are horrible. Of course I get bored of great teams winning all the time, like I want someone else to win bundesliga once, but we had ATM win last season anyway, so La Liga is not there.
1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do I feel as though I don't have enough knowledge of Crypto? on: January 19, 2022, 09:36:04 PM
Nothing wrong with feeling that we don't understand something and want to learn more. It's actually a very good trait and shows that you are reflecting your knowledge. When it comes to crypto trading that is very important. Nothing is more dangerous than the feeling of knowing everything, while in reality we don't understand all the risks involved. It's great you want to learn more, the best place in my opinion is this forum here. Just take a look at a new project that's being promoted here on the forum. There are lot of technical data being provided and you can engage directly with the engineering team. Joining a development call or a telegram group can help a lot too.
That is actually one of the key requirements to be a wise person. All wise people would know that they know very little, there are SO many information and data points out there in the world that you can never learn all off it. An academic could focus on just one point on something, like a philosophy professor would learn so much about the topic, but they do not even claim to be all mighty about it, they do niche like "ancient greek philosophy" and when it comes to industrial age German version they say there are better ones.

That is just one topic, and professors are great at one niche of that one topic. Imagine how little we know about the whole world. So if you ever want to be wise, first you have to accept the fact that you know very very little about the world and you need to study forever in order to know just %0.1 of all the information and will probably fail.
1809  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲 BetFury.io|🎄NY Fest for $400 000|🏎 Win Porsche|💸Rakeback is available on: January 19, 2022, 09:14:42 PM
How about being a BetFury affiliate? We would like to cooperate with you! Use BetFury platform precisely the same way as before, but double or triple your profit participating in the Referral program
Create your campaigns, multiply your teams, and the result will more than satisfy you. Moreover, we have an Affiliate manager — Bill 👉https://t.me/billbetfury, so contact him for any questions of cooperation, and he will select the most suitable option for you.

This is great, affiliate is where I shine and I like to actually send people information regarding this but more importantly I know a few places that have very low price on banners so I usually get some banner done and then share that in multiple places and that allows me to make a good amount of money and end up with something that is profitable. It doesn't mean that I will have a ton of affiliates but it just means that I like to do what I can and sometimes it ends up with good amount of affiliates.

The rates are not that bad neither, considering the BFG mining as well which is something I really like, maybe I will use all the other earnings to get BFG as well, who knows? I know that it doesn't really mean much, but it just means that I get to do whatever I want to do and still earn a small amount of money if I am lucky without doing too much, it is just one time work to put up the banners, rest is free money, like passive income.
1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What do you think that 2022 will look like? on: January 19, 2022, 08:58:03 PM
Scary, as you can see the cryptocurrency market is experiencing a decline after few coins managed to reach ATH. This sight may be painful for the holder, but not for investors who want to get some coins when the market is falling. bear market and bull market always happen, Traders must be able to control their emotions when the market is falling.
A very easy way to control their emotions is to not open the market when conditions are still bad except for those who want to buy more or who want to increase their portfolio to be more so they have to take advantage of the downturn very well
That is something I have been doing for a while. I mean if you are not sure about what's going to happen with the market and you are not sure that what you will see today or tomorrow, just go with the long term deal. I have been a long term investor for a while now and I have been making a good money, which allows me to not check the price every single day. I check the prices time to time of course, but probably like 3-4 times a week and nothing more.

This means there are 2-3 days or sometimes even longer where I do not check the price at all. That is the way you could stay calm, sometimes I check the price and I see that it dropped a lot, sometimes I realize bitcoin got TT on twitter and see that something big happened. That's literally the only way you could make a profit from the crypto world, by ignoring it and just following your own strategy no matter what happens.
1811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 19, 2022, 08:30:00 PM
It is really difficult to understand Antonio Conte about this transfer. Because they should be looking for capable wingers who can score and make assists at the same time. For example, they had Gareth Bale in the last season and he performed very well. He got 11 goals and 3 assists in the English Premier League. And now, he is one of the biggest candidates to leave Real Madrid and he can be transferred for free now. As he is 32 years old, I think that he can still be very helpful for Tottenham. Therefore, I'd go for him instead of Traore.

Or if they really want to sign a younger player, than they should be looking for talented wingers.
I believe if they could get Bale then they would have, but Traore have been in the premier league and he is not as expensive when you look at the salary differences. Bale is great and all but he has a very high salary so that is the biggest difference. Which is the main reason why they are probably looking at him. Plus Traore is 25 years old and that is a big difference to be fair, if a player is 7 years younger than you could get that player and then make them play a bit better by fitting them into your strategy as well.

So, this is not a horrible transfer choice to be fair, yeah I would agree that if you could get Bale for free and get him to accept a very low salary then you would prefer that, but if not then I would say that Traore with cheaper salary and 7 years younger looks like a better deal to get done, you can get more out of him.
1812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 18, 2022, 03:06:05 PM
You are exaggerating this stuff way too much.
For hard core fans, missing out the opportunity of whitewash might be a big thing and we cannot say anything to their perception. Moreover, some gamblers might have placed bets on 5 - 0 whitewash, what if you have lost such a bet by one wicket due to captain's decision making skills (if England would not have lost up to 9 wickets then people might have taken this scenario differently).

archaic crappy ICC rules regarding draws in tests.
I am sorry, I am not aware of any significant change of rules regarding this; could you please link if me to any references if possible; thanks for your time.
1813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 18, 2022, 01:00:52 PM
Cricket lovers watch all types of cricket. Also after the start of the under 19 world cup, we can see people discussion's on those matches on this forum too. This shows that there is still interest for under 19 world cup.

I am also following these matches. So far the Indian team looks quite strong and one of the favorites for lifting the cup.
It is always exciting to watch new talents as they are going to represent their country in international stages very soon. I had watched many players like that and as expected they have grown and been successful in international stages. I mean everyone must be having their own reasons to follow different format of games.

As these days lots of sports are happening simultaneously I do pick the games which are potentially going to thrill me. For cricket, I do watch these days big bash but surely will watch major teams and all knock out stage matches for this U19 WC tournament as well.
1814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Speculation about biggest airdrops of 2022 on: January 18, 2022, 09:39:36 AM
There were some huge ones in the past, Like $Uniswap rewarding early users, $Paint rewarding NFT traders, IMX airdrop for early Immutable X users and GODS airdrop for godsunchained card traders/holders and players.

There were some other DEXes rewarding their users as well but i can't keep up with everything. None of these were announced beforehand so i guess biggest airdrops in 2022 won't be announced until the snapshot of users backing some early tech is done.
Airdrops are not the way to become rich if you ask me. Back in the day I worked to build an airdrop hub type of deal. Where you would see all the airdrops in a single web page, which is not unheard of and there are websites like that so it wasn't unique or anything like that. My hope was that if I can do the website, I would be doing like affiliate link to all the airdrop projects and can get hundreds of people going to those projects via my link and I could earn more airdrop.

So, I was even risking my own income as well, if the project sucked then the airdrop I got would be zero and I wouldn't be paid to provide this service at all. So I know what I am talking about when it comes to airdrops and aside from maybe like 5 of them, the entire history of airdrops doesn't have decent returns, it is totally useless and worthless and doesn't worth a thing unless you get thousands of affiliates.
1815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is ethereum still a viable alternative to Bitcoin? on: January 17, 2022, 09:59:14 PM
Both ethereum and Bitcoin are at a stable price right now, ethereum still maintained its almost 4k price and bitcoin rely on around the 50k region but those investors looking for quick profits are looking for better options between the two so should one remain with Bitcoin or should look for another option like ethereum so what will you advise for a new investor.
It is not easy to calculate where it is going right now because even though it is still used a lot, there are also a lot of people who stay away from ETH because of the gas fee situation. I am 100% sure that if the gas fee was under 1 dollars, then we would definitely have a lot of people using it, we already have a lot but there would be even more that uses it. However, the reality is that since ETH is used so much because of the gas fee, that causes people to buy it, and then spend it on the gas fee, if you make it lower than people would participate in projects but since they do not need ETH too much, they will not buy it too much.

So, while gas fee causes some people to stay away, it also causes many people to buy ETH and increase the price indirectly. I do not know which one would be better for ETH, getting more people involved or having a bigger utility with gas fee?
1816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any website without a dispute here? on: January 17, 2022, 01:18:06 PM
There are those players that are unhappy because they've lost a lot and they'll make stories that they'll try to destroy the reputation of the casino.
But it's their fault on why they're losing and that's why people who don't conduct investigation, they'll believe on what that person is saying. And when their story is validated by the casino, the truth will come out and they'll not accept the sanction that has been done to them because of their fault.
Yes, scammers and abusers are always part of this gambling industry and to maintain their reputation high, gambling houses always need to work hard because they need to convince this community as well when they are taking hard decisions like suspecting withdrawals or banning accounts. When such people are always existing, I guess that we cannot expect all famous houses to remain out of disputes.

Even many disputes occur, how those gambling houses providing resolutions and justifying their action will again help them to build their reputation more stronger. So, for a honest gambling houses all such abusers are not really a concern.
1817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Forecast by Goldman Sachs on: January 16, 2022, 09:48:07 PM
Goldman Sachs predicted that Bitcoin could reach $100k in 2022 if it continues to overtake gold’s market share.

Approximately 2 percent of gold’s market cap ($700 billion) is held by the public. Goldman estimates that the public holds about $2.6 trillion in gold as an investment."
I definitely think that Goldman Sachs have been quite bullish on bitcoin for a long time. It is not a new story and they have been promoting it for a long time as well. It is quite obvious that they "want to" see it at 100k and that is why they are making speeches like that. Plus, they probably have some money in bitcoin and considering it is not their money and instead their investors money that means they also have to make public posts like this as well.

So all in all, I am definitely sure that they do believe what they are saying but also even if they didn't then they had to still say these things which makes their own words not credible enough at all.
1818  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid crisis leaves Sri Lanka on brink of bankruptcy on: January 16, 2022, 09:12:46 PM
When you have a "fake" pandemic with corrupt governments and rich pharmaceutical companies funding them, you have all the ingredients for a economic disaster. Now, I agree... Covid is real and people are dying from it, but most of those statistics are fake. (There are many false positive tests that are feeding the hysteria) [Get your hands on over the counter rapid Covid tests and test with water or fizzy drinks]

The mass hysteria has been fueled by government controlled media and the result was "lock downs" and unnecessary "quarantine" requirements. The smaller countries cannot afford to have long-term "lock downs" and the cracks quickly showed in their economy. Why was this done... Well, a lot of top government officials (kickbacks) and shareholders of Pharmaceutical companies got filthy rich.  Angry
This is the biggest problem that the world has right now. People who downplay the importance of it like you. If you accept that it is real and it kills people, why would you try to avoid having a protective situation? If you could have cancer by talking with people, wouldn't you avoid it? If you could have a heart attack, wouldn't you avoid it?

There are a lot of people all around the world who follow these rules because they do not want to die, is that really so hard to understand? I mean we all KNOW that people die from covid, so is it too much to ask everyone to be more careful so we do not die? Lockdowns makes sure that you get paid or stay at home while working and that way you will not talk with others face to face and have a chance to die.

You may disagree on numbers, I am 100% certain the numbers in my nation is fake on the reverse side, it is a lot more and yet reported lower, but that is not really important part is it? You may think that the numbers are lower in reality, but the death is real, people die, it is a fact, and you are telling me "let the people die so that economy stays strong"? How could you even consider that?
1819  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IS it possible to let your BTC work for you ? on: January 15, 2022, 09:54:24 PM
Hey, I am wondering is it truly possible that my BTC works for me , without revealing my private keys and also without KYC ?
I have read and heard about similar things but they seem more like a Ponzi scheme.
Does anybody have any experience with a non-custodia platform/wallet /swap which does not require KYC but supports BTC ?
It depends on what you really want to do. On a normal, when you invest in Bitcoin, it is an investment and you would be making profit as the price of Bitcoin goes up and down, so basically your Bitcoin is already working for you while it is in your wallet. But, if you are not satisfied with that, and you want to go further, then you should be ready to lose your privacy for that. Because, none of those investment platforms that you are going to find will allow you to just invest in their platforms without KYC. And moreover your Bitcoin wouldn’t be in your wallet, rather it would be on that platform or the exchange that you have decided to be investing it in.
1820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla now accept crypto payments on: January 15, 2022, 06:51:42 PM
companies and public figures cannot create their own crypto

yes, okay, they can, but they will only be like usual vouchers. They will never be able to create a currency accepted by other companies.

However, they can "sponsor", and that is just what Elon has done, setting himself up as a kind of godfather of Dogecoin or honorary president. So he already has "his own" currency
The real standing is that they could create a within the whole holding type of stuff and that could work very well. Imagine facebook creating their own token, that means you can use it on facebook, whatsapp and instagram. That is actually quite big area to use a currency in, how many coins are used that wide? There are like maybe 10 of them at the very best case, probably more like 2 or 3.

This is how it could happen, not that it would be used by other companies but if a place like google or facebook or apple or anything else creates their own token then they could make you use it, as an alternative of course, you can still use dollars, but you could use their tokens as well. That is the most important part and that is what I believe should be the case whenever they create a new coin as a company. It is not the perfect version, but not terrible neither.
