1821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 13, 2022, 12:15:50 PM

I'm riding that predictin, Meralco has been giving SMB a tough challenge so if they'll lose, most likely they will cover the spread.
Not sure what the spread is but I'm guessing it will be +5.5. (good one if you'll ask me).

Here are the spread and odds in stakes:

Magnolia +3.5 1.87
TNT -3.5 1.77

SMB -4.5 1.78
Meralco +4.5 1.85

I am surprised that the spread is so close. The last two games were not so close, I am expecting a larger lead. And the odds are quite low as well. I think it is safer to bet for SMB and TNT at this point since the odds are almost the same as well.

I'm surprised with the SMB odds but not the TNT vs Magnolia odds.

Magnolia won the last game, they should be at least only +2.5 underdog just like the previous games, but I think that +3.5 is very tempting.
For SMB vs Meralco, that seems easy for SMB but who knows, what if Meralco will even the series and force the series to game 7.
1822  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 13, 2022, 11:31:43 AM
Draymond Green doesn't have a lot of option and surely he doesn't have the power to demand the table and make the team offer him a max contract because he is not that kind of huge asset, he'll be lucky if the Warriors will still keep him despite his situation. He should know that he isn't like LBJ or CP3 who will be chased by any team because of the numbers they could bring in the team, Green is different because he is not a play maker.

Draymond Green obviously shouldn't be hoping that the Warriors or any other team will offer him a maximum contract. By the way, his current contract will expire after next season, and he will still have a player option for an extension until the end of the 23/24 season. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he takes this player option as it is unlikely that anyone will offer him a higher salary than $27,5 mln.

He's eligible for max contract and he's just trying to get what's best for his future because he is almost at the peak of his career. But actually in reality this one is little much not possible and maybe for this asking for getting huge contract mag cause for him to get departed on Warriors.

Hopefully he will not encounter the same faith with schroder which his career is questionable now in NBA.
Draymond is a huge asset to the warriors. His basketball IQ is off the charts. He plays excellent defense and really gets under opponents skin causing them to play bad. Warriors may not agree to a max contract but ill bet they offer him something he will accept. He's  too valuable to them.

It's undeniable that Draymond Green is really big asset to warriors because he help this team in many ways but the salary cap of warriors interfere this and for sure they cannot give what green ask because if they give what he ask to the team for sure the young core of GSW will get sacrifice also their future. So I think this is though decision to be made by them but I guess chances that they select their future is big rather than giving green what he ask.

They cannot give him a max salary but can give him a decent salary. Well, if Draymond Green feel like he is undervalued, he is free to sign with other team that could grant his wish, however, that doesn't guarantee that he will be as effective as he was with the Warriors.
1823  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Know the right crypto project to invest in on: August 12, 2022, 10:58:31 PM
Considering rate at which hundreds of cryptocurrencies are flooding the blockhain space it seems digital currency is taking over the fiat. But the question now is how does one get to know the right crypto project to invest in?
That was very unfortunate - too bad to say that it was too hard to tell as these new projects are mostly scams.
Even having a deep search, checking their roadmap, whitepaper, team, project development, and its transparency - it is no way we can tell that a particular project is legit, that project is good for investment. It is unsecured to invest in them that is why I suggest not putting our money there but instead choosing Bitcoin and some of these leading altcoins as we know that they are working already.
1824  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I started business many days ago. Now it's time to accept Crypto as a payment. on: August 12, 2022, 10:24:22 PM
I'm very happy to see you accepting bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as a payment method for your business, I'm sure you can have clients from all over the world and this can help the business because many countries cannot have normal credit cards and Paypal is not available there so they won't have any problem also implementing the cryptocurrencies payment method will not cost you a lot and will not require many paper works unlike the other payment methods but still you need to have enough knowledge about these payment gates to easily cashout the money when you need it.
The process involved is simple and it doesn't require any third party payment processor. The client pay and it directly reflects on your wallet. This will take your business forward, and you need to have good marketing along with the location people having awareness about cryptocurrencies. The biggest thing, government's stand on cryptocurrency usage. You need to go with the policy framed by the government, if not the same can bring problems.
That is the thing we are supposed to do, comply with all the necessary permits and we have to run our business legally. Thus, if Bitcoin is not banned in their country that is a great advantage for OP and I already see the success of doing this. Moreover, this is still a payment option but this also gives some insights to the public and to the government as well that there is someone who is willing to accept crypto despite its volatile nature. To prove that Bitcoin can be a form of payment, not just for investment.
1825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: August 12, 2022, 01:20:54 PM

I am hoping Teo will lose this fight. But any champions would love to fight either Teo or Garcia because of money. But for the meantime there is only 1 champion in the division, the former undisputed Josh Taylor is giving up his belts in favor of moving up to welterweight.

There's no way Teo would lose this fight, it's his comeback fight after a big lose, so he will never do the same mistake again, in fact, I'm seeing the opposite, Teo will win via KO and that would hype his new in this new division.

You can never guarantee a win, although Campa is a big underdog but he has the power to KO Lopez for sure. However, if his is indeed a cherry pick by his promoter, then we can say that the past wins of Campa has lack of quality compared to the past wins of Lopez.
1826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 12, 2022, 12:54:14 PM

And now he is thinking to go down in weight and chase more challenges and see if he can still fight the best of them.

Who's going down in weight? Donaire? I think that's a bad idea, I believe the best thing to do is to officially retire as he had proven himself already, but if he is still chasing the money, of course, he will use his popularity and will continue fighting.
1827  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: August 11, 2022, 12:19:56 PM
I'm rooting for Ancajas, hoping he will be a champ again.
No odds yet, but for sure Ancajas will be the underdog but a slight underdog only. If you believe that he will bounce back after a big loss, then I'm sure you would be happy seeing an odds high than +200 as definitely that's what you will be seeing as it will be available.

The first fight odds.  (result was a huge upset)

Fernando Martinez +400
Jerwin Ancajas -600

I agree with you mate, for sure Ancajas will be the slight underdog in this rematch and this may a good opportunity for all Ancajas' supporters to place their bets as he will be giving his all in this fight to take back the belt once he owned.

The fight will happen two months from now and per history, bookies will place the odds for the fight of this magnitude three to two days before it happens.

I should have some spare money dedicated for this fight, this is a big fight, a chance for Ancajas to be champion again and I know he feels the pressure since we are losing Filipino champions and if he cannot reclaim the belts he loses, that's not good for our country. I'm checking from time to time to my bookie hoping odds will be out early.

1829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullish VS Bearish on: August 08, 2022, 01:11:55 PM
Bitcoin will fall at $1100? wow, that's a very unreasonable statement, I can guarantee Bitcoin will not go down to $1100,
Bitcoin is different from 10 years ago, haven't you seen the news about samsung, paypal, tesla and many other big companies holding bitcoin?,
yes that's why Bitcoin won't plunge to $1000.

That's actually possible. I don't mean to be biased here because I myself is a Bitcoin enthusiast, but realistically that's possible to happen. Though not in this current timeline, but somewhere in the future if people decides to leave Bitcoin. But right now and in the next coming years, that's most likely not going to happen.
Perhaps, we don't know which I agree this might happen, but that was the worse scenario ever and when people are hopeless about Bitcoin. But as to see that the interest of the crowd is growing, adoption is increasing, and more development, it was very unlikely to see Bitcoin will fall that bad.
Well, optimistic people will keep positive about the future of Bitcoin but those who live in doubt will remain doubtful forever.
1830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: RUIZ VS ORTIZ SUN, SEP 04, 2022 10PM ET EASTERN TIME/ on: August 08, 2022, 11:14:55 AM
Here is the full kick off press conference, you can see the Andy Ruiz has really trimmed down in weight, you can barely recognized him right now. Luis Ortiz though, his age is really showing, but I think he can still fight and he still one of the biggest puncher in the heavyweight division.

And I agree that Ortiz problem will be his stamina, and he knows it, but he has a good head movement and has a quick feet to step in and out. Also not just stamina, but the question on his chin, Ruiz is a big puncher and so once he landed one solid punch, his chin might not cope with the power.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTu7fndVXHU

Thanks bro, actually, this is the fight that Ruiz has to show up, it's going to be the start of his success as once he wins this, he will get a big fight for sure. I don't know what's gonna happen but I think the favorite will win here, I presume that Ruiz will be the favorite and he will beat the old underdog.

Do we have the betting odds of this fight already? Also, is it possible to watch it through live free streaming?
1831  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 - September 17 on: August 08, 2022, 10:45:20 AM
I agree, it was a bold prediction by one of the legends, Bernard Hopkins. Although Canelo is no longer with them (Golden Boy), he is still ion the bandwagon,  Grin. So we respect that.

But then again, boxers, boxing 'experts' and fans have its own speculation. Even in our community, and for us we wanted to see GGG winning the fight, it will be good if this is going to be by stoppage or knock out. But we wanted to see at the end, his hands being raised as the winner.
I respect Hopkins he has done a lot for boxing as a boxer and as a promoter, he could have made a prediction that Canelo will win against GGG by the decision but for Canelo knocking out GGG easily I just don't know where this coming from, that's to much confidence on Canelo and a big disrespect for GGG, he should back it up if he is confident on his prediction by daring anyone for 1 million bets, he might eat his own words I am on the community that GGG still has what it takes to beat him after GGG has never been dominantly beaten or even knocked out.
He might be thinking that GGG is already old and Canelo who came from a dissapointing lose will try to redeem himself. I know he will be wrong because GGG is not an easy opponent, although Canelo won the last fight but the last two fights was very controversial, which means no clear winner in the eyes of the fans.

No disrespect to Hopkins and others like Roy Jones, however, let me pointed out Bernard predictions on Canelo vs Bivol,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjPMaiYHu9c

Quote
“He smashes him. Mashed potatoes all over the place. Another smash event, smashes him."

Fast forward to 0:24 and you will hear what his thoughts on the fight and according to him Canelo will "smashed" Bivol. But the complete opposite happens in the fight, and Canelo lost the fight. So he got completely wrong with his prediction, just saying.

Hopkins is like the Charles Barkley of the NBA who's prediction are completely wrong, LOL.. Although they are great boxers, but they can never guarantee who will win the fight since both boxers are capable to fight even if we have the favorite and the underdog.
1832  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: August 08, 2022, 10:24:07 AM
This is what I like in Game 3 of the series between Magnolia and TNT. The game is unpredictable even though there are times that both teams have a nice lead. We can both teams give their best to catch up once behind and make the game close as possible.

I have noticed that both teams have their players not on their usual performance last night:

TNT = Mikey Williams
Magnolia = Paul Lee

But Mikey Williams still have the good numbers last night and he's not known for having 2 straight games at worst. Paul Lee on the other hand seems not on his usual playing level. He was even considered "dinadaga" in Pinoy terms on that Game 3 match where he is not supposed to feel that.

Mikey Williams still have good numbers and there's Castro to save his butt, it was a veteran shot that Castro took knowing that they don't have a timeout and the adrenaline rush is really needed, a winning shot that he always capable of doing nothing to say but he still the old Castro we know, tough heart with full responsibilities to whatever the risk that might happen after that shot.

Good thing that it favors them and a winning shot happens for them to lead the series again..

I'm liking the Magnolia despite the fact that they lose in this game, they were eager to win and they played great defense all throughout the game. Abueva also showed consistency, so game 4 for sure is going to be a close game and hopefully Magnolia will win to even the series.

Well, if you think they'll be able to win the series, first they have to even the series first, and that means they will have to win in game 4. There's no betting lines yet but I'm sure Magnolia will still remain as the underdog in game 4, so Moneyline odds is going to be attractive for sure.
1833  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading more efficiently on: August 08, 2022, 10:05:26 AM
This is a good observation, newbies are not really interested in the markets themselves but on the profits they can get, and while this may not seem to be a big deal it is, newbies concentrate on what to do to produce profits but not on why and how it works, so their knowledge about the markets is superficial at best, meaning that as soon as something happens that is outside of their limited knowledge then they do not know what to do, and that is the moment when they lose money.
There are two types of traders exist,
 1. Long-term traders - these people don't just look at today's situation and make a profit from it but they have to look further into the future. They never stop trading despite the situation for they believe that the volatility of the market gives them the opportunity to still earn some profit.
 2. Short-term traders - these people just often come during the bull season and then just left when it was done.

Either of the two types of traders, knowledge, and skill are a huge advantage which is necessary to acquire before we start.
1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will people finally abandon Tron? on: August 07, 2022, 10:48:03 PM
It is a know fact about Tron because Tron is really a bad coin, bad tech and just hyped because of Justin Sun.
It is an ancient coin and will be replaced by better tech, still people are bag holding it.
Better get out ASAP because Tron won't be able to deliever.
I don't know what is the reason/s that make you really hate Tron. Though I don't have any of this coin but knowing it belonged to the top 20 coins of the CMC you can think that it was valuable and many investors have given their support to this project. If you suffer losses from investing this, then just keep it yourself rather than spreading misinformation as it was not reasonable to say it was a bad coin unless it was a scam (which is not).
1835  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will Investing Help the Economy of a Country on: August 07, 2022, 01:05:35 PM
I agree that what happens to the community will reflect back on the country itself. Like, if all the people are investing or having jobs, there's always an inflate on their economic system,  and leaving to the poverty line is possible. That is why the government had to work hard and offer jobs to their people and encourage them to take every opportunity ( investing) that is available for this will help the economy grows as well. However, this only become possible if the government leaders are not corrupt.

Castro ruined my bet, I had TNT/Magnolia (1st half/full time) with an odds of @11.

I was so excited to cash out when Barroca hit the shot and they had a 2 point lead, but Castro in the end finished the game and beat the Magnolia.

What kind of market was that? Magnolia to the game @11 odds?

That market is not available anymore in sportsbet, you can find that on duelbits. Regarding my bet, TNT/Magnolia. TNT should win the first half (which they did) while Magnolia will win the full game, if that's the result,  you will get x11 of your bet.

1838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin become a global currency ? on: August 06, 2022, 11:22:05 PM
ofcourse why not? any reasons to not to be so? bitcoin has all the components which money has. and bitcoin has even better components beyond fiat moeny. decentralization and low fees are major components of them. for now small countries and major companies has adopted bitcoin as a payment solution. is that not a good sign?? in 2010 no one  believed on bitcoin. but now millions of people believe on bitcoin. the reason to do so is , people has understood something good signs of bitcoin as better than fiat money. bitcoin  wont  replace the $ or globle currency  today or tommorow. but for sure it will be done eventually.
Yes that could be possible no doubt about it, in order for us to make it happen it should be teach to all ages and to all the school ok your community, so that  there will be no person who will get scammed by someone. And people will know that crypto is not the same with mlm. Sooner or later bitcoin will be accepted in many countries, I hope the fee will be lessen as well.
Will probably take another decade or even more before witnessing such change and considering Bitcoin as a legal tender globally. I'd see this become acceptable to the community provided that the government will give their support as well. But as they are not yet ready for this adoption and still have doubts in their mind, this never happens, yet the idea remains, however, the purpose of being a currency might be taking too long before it proceeds.
Honestly, I was just having fun making this as an investment.
1839  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many people become binance futures full time traders as job on: August 06, 2022, 10:50:32 PM
Trading on binance is not a full time job , a job is something that brings profit all the time,  maybe daily , weekly or monthly without any loss(salary).
There is an argument in the past if Trading can be considered a job or not but for me, I favored calling this a job even though we can't assure about profiting every day. Well, but is not important.
People in binance,  I can classify what they as a business that has high risk. Trading like this is not what anyone can go into because of the risk involved in it, and it is not advisable for anyone to consider to be a fill time job.
Generally, that is what we saw in trading - risky. But as we talk about future trading and getting involved with this, we ate absolutely taking more risk than the usual spot trading. I know the idea of wanting to earn more but putting ourselves at higher risk like this, we are likely taking the suicidal move.
1840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So we've gone from 1 meme coin to one hundred now ? on: August 06, 2022, 01:09:10 PM
meme coins aren't the right coins to invest with, you can't really think about earning them in the future, not in the long-term but for just in a while when it pump. Because after that, once the hype is over, I'm not sure if they still have the chance to recover or are gone forever. In fact, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu have just known meme coins but as you can see they are far from getting potential, they'll somehow lose their value from time to time. And I was afraid Shiba Inu will be ended up moving to the bottom.
