1861  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can you help a noob fix a used s9j? on: February 08, 2023, 03:18:58 PM
Possibly the 3rd board is faulty or overheating.

Better check the dashboard of this miner under the miner's status to see which one isn't working.

And read the kernel logs for possible errors you should see why it's not working.
Like the above  said post the kernel logs here so that we can see the cause of why it isn't working.

You can also try to test all hash boards one by one to find the culprit you can follow the guide below.

1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Retrieve address from Private Key on: February 07, 2023, 11:48:26 PM
Be careful of importing private keys on an online PC before you import and do the guide above always make sure to disconnect your PC from the internet to avoid leaks.

Or better generate your new address with your current wallet than expose your private key.

What do you plan for this address? If you are going to deposit then it's not safe but if you plan to transfer funds from that address make sure to send it to a secured wallet/address.
1863  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to buy or sell? on: February 07, 2023, 01:50:23 PM
That pattern will not work in the long term it only works in the short time.
Nowadays is not easy to predict the crypto price movement analyzing the market only helps you decide and know when to buy or sell sometimes analyzing them will work but sometimes it doesn't always keep in your mind that Crypto is unpredictable.

As you can see in your chart with Fetch.ai/Tether and most of the tokens/coins out there they are rising due to the recent bitcoin rise.

If I were you since you don't know yet how to analyze the coin/token learn about FA and TA and some strategies from this link below and don't worry few tools from that link is free where you can test your skills and strategies.

1864  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you must not use a crypto wallet on a bootloader-unlocked phone on: February 07, 2023, 01:32:37 PM
I've experienced having a phone with a bootloader unlocked/rooted with a custom OS and there are lots of ads after installing a few apps like shareit and browsing on some sites with hidden scripts that auto-install apps and notifications without your consent. So it's too risky if you are going to unlock the bootloader because some apps can do whatever they want to do with your phone.

And about the Go keyboard, they actually record the text you type most of the guides out there using it as a keylogger.
And sometimes some systems become corrupted due to bugs and malware that can turn your device into hardbrick you can fix this hardbrick but the problem is if you are using Qualcomm devices it needs to use a Jtag to be able to recover it from hardbrick only professional tech have this Jtag box.
Samsung phones also disable Knox protection if you unlocked the bootloader I never unlocked my phone because most of my exchange apps and wallet are in my phone.

Only unlocked bootloader if you want to do some experiment or test something just make sure don't use it to any sensitive data.
1865  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am stopping for legal reasons. Is it really worth the trouble? on: February 06, 2023, 10:54:38 PM
I think this is just for traders. Why not hold your coins instead I don't think holding coins is illegal since you are not trading them for local currency it should be fine.

And I suggest do all transactions privately if ever you use BTC an online VPN and incognito/private browsing should protect your privacy. Just don't exchange all your crypto for local currency until central banks approve it. You can still exchange them in the future or move to other countries where crypto is legal.
1866  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.3.4 Relased on: February 06, 2023, 09:56:37 PM
Hey!
Is the function "Cancel Double Spend" unavailable no more in Mac Version of Electrum 4.3.4??

I don't see or find it on Electrum release notes that they will remove the cancel double spend.
So if you upgrade it to the latest version that function should be still there and even without that function you can manually cancel the double spend transaction except on non-RBF transactions.
1867  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 06, 2023, 07:14:00 PM
Honestly, no one knows what will be the next price movement of Bitcoin but if you already know the history of Bitcoin since before then investing your savings into Bitcoin is a good choice.
However, since Bitcoin is volatile there is also a chance that Bitcoin may drop again below $20k so if you don't want to lose that chance invest only 30% on the current price and then the remaining 30% invest it again when the price drop below $20k or depending on how much you want to invest.

And take note there are many newbies lost due to selling their coins early when they see price drop you must learn to control your feelings because Bitcoin is for long-term investment not for day trading.
1868  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Disable Version-rolling AsicBoost on Miners? on: February 06, 2023, 06:13:13 PM
You can also downgrade the s19 series to a lower version through SD card flashing but the problem their live download page isn't showing SD card images.

But you can still download it from the archive.org here below

Don't click the download instead right-click then copy the link and paste it to another tab make sure to delete the archive.org link before you enter.
Then follow the instruction here on how to flash it through SD card.

About Whatsminer it seems there is no way to disable ASICboost because I think their units don't have ASICboost.

Are trying to mine on Nicehash? I heard that the new Whatsminer units do not support ASICboost pools if you have problem connecting to any pool try to use a pool with no ASICboost or that can switch to non-ASICboost server.
1869  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Roqqu login problem on: February 06, 2023, 12:30:05 AM
It seems that they randomly banned users according to their reviews you might be banned or your account is terminated.
According to their legal page before they terminate your account you should receive a 2 months notice so try to check your email for account termination you might get the reason why you can't able to log in.

You can also try to contact them with their email hello@roqqu.com or their live support that you can find directly on their home page.
1870  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Full node already bt new bitcoin-core gui want to reindex all on: February 05, 2023, 11:50:43 PM
I don't think there is a way to directly load the blockchain without reindexing It is required to reindex to rebuild blockchain data and to check some corrupted files and re-downloaded them.
Without reindexing, you might get some issues using your node like missing transactions, etc.

However, if you want to speed up reindexing there is a way like switching to SSD it can improve reindex speed process compared to HDD.
1871  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which brand of miner should I trust? on: February 05, 2023, 06:05:00 PM
What about Avalon from Canaan ?

Im looking for an A11 or A12 from them, but don't know which on is the most stable ?

Canaan units are cheap and both your units that you mention are stable the only problem is that their units are power-hungry.
But if you have a cheap electricity rate Canaan units is a good choice than Antminer units.
1872  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which mining is good to start? on: February 05, 2023, 05:57:32 PM
Take note you can only mine Bitcoin with ASIC based machine so CPU and GPU are no longer supported. Even if it is supported it's not profitable due to difficulty.

If I were you better start reading this "First time/Small miner reference for getting started."

If you still decided to mine bitcoin then for cheap units Canaan.io units are cheap but power-hungry Antminer units is also a great option their latest units is the highest profitability due to efficiency.
1873  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help I want to import seed into new wallet on: February 04, 2023, 11:32:35 PM
I'd disagree with using 3rd party keyboard like Gboard you must use a built-in keyboard for your safety unless you are using a Chinese phone.

Chinese phones are not secured I have a few clone phones here never use them for any crypto transaction it would be safer if you have iPhone or Samsung(w/ Knox secured) and then use their built-in keyboard with disabled auto-suggest and sensors off from developers option.
1874  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: block.io alternative on: February 04, 2023, 11:18:56 PM
Thanks for all the feedback.

I have an incentive-based site, users do surveys and I pay them in crypto.

So it is a CPA website?
What CMS do you use from your site?
Are you using WordPress?
BTCpay is the best option to this check the link below.

You don't need any 3rd party service it is safer and open-source than using APIs from other wallet. Check the documentation from the link above.
1875  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How do you keep your Asic secured when using a pool on: February 04, 2023, 12:00:45 AM
So it is always smarter to reflash your used Asic miners when you buy them? 🤔🤔🤔🤔, wow I don't know this, I got two Asic miners used from China and I don't see or notice any strange things happening, I connected to Nicehash pool and get paid as per what the calculator showed, I will be more careful next time.

If one just updates the Firmware to the latest I believe this means the older user is not using any unknown or separate Firmware.

Sometimes they do get a very small hashrate from your miner just like other firmware with a developer's fee of around 2% to 10% without you notice.

That is why if you buy a used miner it is always recommended to flash them through an SD card and then upgrade it to the latest firmware to make sure you are using clean firmware. Dev fees don't affect much if you only have one miner but for those who have big farms, a 2 to 10% dev fee is a big loss.
1876  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Repairing Antminer S9j on: February 03, 2023, 11:43:16 PM
The PSU was working when I took the screen shots after first firing up the miner.
Two hashboards were working, one not working when I took the screenshots.
The PSU failed after running continuously for 3,5 hrs with the 2 good boards hashing and now it only makes 11V DC.

That's a normal value if it's coming from the power supply and actually the power changes depending on the control board signal that is why you see some different power output and also you can adjust power and frequencies from this unit.

There is Vnish firmware where you can adjust power and frequencies or use auto-tuning and let it run for a while until it found the best freq and power for your miner to run stable.

Auto-tuning on BraiinsOS is also a good option as suggested above to test until you get some hints. But I guess PSU is working fine 1 of your hashboard is I think overheating after running for a while so auto-tuning is the best solution to still keep some chips running safely(From red to green).
1877  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Asset on: February 03, 2023, 11:23:10 PM
I don't know exactly what are you planning it is likely a dream?
You will never be a supply of Bitcoin since the supply of Bitcoins came from blocks being solved and rewarded.
So how can you be a Bitcoin supplier?

Or you might be talking about trading related to exchange inflow and outflow but I don't see if the market is crashing look at the Bitcoin price chart for 30 days it continuously rising.

Or I think you are offering something for a limited-time offer?
1878  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: block.io alternative on: February 03, 2023, 11:12:14 PM
If you don't mind I would like to ask what service you offer to your users why would you pay them?

Maybe BTCpayserver can help you about paying your users the best thing about using BTCpayserver is that there is no 3rd party you can host this with your own machine unlike other wallets or services online they do have control of your wallets.

And how did you end up using block.io if you can do it manually with your wallet unless you want them to automate withdrawal in your own website where your users requesting for withdrawal or payout so BTCpayserver is the right choice for this and they do support LTC.
1879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: The best ways to mine bitcoin on: February 03, 2023, 10:52:34 PM
There is no best way to mine Bitcoin but for the safest way to mine Bitcoin do not invest in any cloud mining sites or NFT or any digital form with hashrate they are mostly a scam.

That's the big difference buying digital vs physical miner I will never invest again to any form of mining with digital even it is NFT because I already experienced to be scammed by some investment sites before.
1880  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How do you keep your Asic secured when using a pool on: February 02, 2023, 11:58:34 PM
Just keep your miner updated to the latest firmware and disable ssh.
Also, change your root admin password and keep your router to enable firewall protection for any attack, and don't access any website randomly that records your IP because sometimes they scan your IP for open ports.

And don't flash your units with random firmware that you downloaded from unknown sources there are lots of fake firmware out there be careful.
