I understand the frustration that is coming from OP's part, but I think this bonus that their friends are getting is simply to boost the confidence of these people to bet on the site, and since OP is clearly a high-roller, the company didn't feel the need to give him any more bonuses which I still think is absurd. I do think a lot of bookmakers and casinos as of late have been very complacent in giving their most loyal customers a fair and just treatment, after all, what's a couple hundred dollars gonna do against their millions of dollars in funding? So why are they withholding from providing appropriate rewards to people.
OP i don't know what you're up to from the initial stage while you have been making a turn over with your entitlements, i think that's your own decisions which they respect and have no option to go against since it's benefits them, but to your own side of the story, why should you get naive this time since you're not offered your promotions bonus when they have protocols to how you can claim it but you chose not to, i think you have to work on yourself because casinos will not tune to your tone but you will rather did for them.
I think the phone call is more than enough evidence that they really just don't want to give him the rewards or bonus at all. "We wouldn't give you any bonus because our system finds that you are actually winning against the casino". That is just absurd, he is obviously a die-hard customer of them, I don't see why they can't give him the bonus they give out to one-time bettors on their site.
1862  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: January 18, 2023, 07:12:30 PM
Regarding how politics is in the USA, I think that everything will revolve around Biden and Trump, I don't see another option that is more viable, also from what I have seen of Terrump he is in very red numbers and that is something that subtracts many points from him When it comes to considering a presidency, upon reaching the presidency I think that many things would get worse, but I have seen a certain part of the USA that is very biased towards Trump's ideas, I really do not understand it, although there is a something very different from how politics is handled in South America, I see similar things, a lot of radicalization in terms of a political ideology and that for me is a mistake, when it falls into ideologies it is that things do not look good for the future.

With how Biden is acting lately, the trust of the common people to him are slowly diminishing. He's showing signs of dementia too, which is not a good thing to say the least and certainly not something that you would want for your president. Trump, despite how asinine his last few months in the term, is slowly gaining traction once again within the MAGA community so I do think Trump is gonna win over Biden this time, should Biden run for presidency again. There's Sanders, which I think will have a fighting chance as well, but I don't really see him winning against Trump when he already lost if I'm not mistaken around 2 or 3 elections against him.
1863  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 18, 2023, 06:29:09 PM
As the cornerstone of this betting strategy lies within the notion that most superfans tend to be uninformed and are therefore betting only for the sake of supporting their teams, I think this will work. Especially for national games wherein little to no amount of research between players and teams are involved, thus ensuring that indeed little to no reliable information is being passed around amongst these fans. However, I don't see this working internationally, for sports that involve multiple countries pitting against each other like the World Cup, because the teams are made up of the best players, and there's no singular crowd that really defines who's the veteran and who's the underdog team.
1864  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal. on: January 18, 2023, 04:59:27 PM
Someone with a strict budget of gambling with $10, decides to start online gambling after been told by a friend, but on signing up discovers that the minimum deposit accepted is above the amount budgetted for gambling. Does high minimum deposit fees from online casino discourage gamblers who want to stick to a budget and influences them to gamble with bigger amounts? If yes, and that perhaps is a reason behind many other online casinos keeping their minimum deposits as low as $1, Could low minimum deposit be an encouragement for people to come gamble regardless of the money they have to gamble? Does minimum withdrawal encourage players to try again and keep gambling if they don't win up to the minimum withdrawal?
As far as I know, minimum deposit and withdrawals are parameters set by the gambling house to ensure that what they are dealing with is human, and is not a hacker who tries to make profit out of their house. Now in the case of whether these limits connote something on the side of the gambler, or in this case a would-be-gambler, then it highly depends on the outlook of that person. There's no singular answer to whether they'd think the house is forcing them to gamble more, or the house is making them gamble regardless of whatever amount they have, coz at the end of the day if they want to gamble they will gamble, and frankly enough if you are on a tight budget that you can only afford to gamble 10 bucks or less I would highly suggest you don't waste it on gambling.
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you handle your losses on: January 18, 2023, 03:08:34 PM
Everything comes down to having a plan and being disciplined enough to follow through with said plan. As long as you have a concrete plan that you will be willing to follow, there's no way losing money over gambling is gonna get to you. Personally, I employ a three-loss-three-wins plan. Whenever I get as much as three wins in one sitting, I call it a day even if I still feel lucky. Same goes with losses, this way, I make sure I don't get addicted and that my funds are kept in check, in such that they don't dry up in one sitting. I suggest you try that plan out too if you're still lost with what to employ, or maybe think of a plan that really resonates with you.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A good way to promote Bitcoin or not? on: January 16, 2023, 10:16:25 PM
I think any method in which bitcoin is used as a means to transact is a good enough way to promote its usage to the general public. Although I think it would suffice if steps on how to create bitcoin wallets as well as funding them to let the ones who are not that savvy with bitcoin know. Cause in my opinion it would only cater towards those who already have bitcoin in their pockets. I think a huge signage or a poster on your store where you let people know you accept bitcoin payments could be good too.
Confidence...!

There is no formula to promote, just believe and trust, put the notice in your business, that in itself is enough.

We always see this request that you make on the merchant's side but rarely have I seen the story of someone walking into a business and saying "when are you going to accept bitcoin".

 OP
.  Another context same story "hit" and "acclaimed" 1000 times on this board
This is good. that actually makes sense.
If Bitcoin is legal in your country, this is a wonderful way to promote it. You can write something like "Bitcoin accepted here, pay in Bitcoin get 10% discount". Those who acknowledge Bitcoin will pay you in Bitcoin. Those who are unfamiliar with Bitcoin will be inspired by it. If this is the case, they may inquire about Bitcoin and conduct their own Google search. This indicates that you are directly adapting Bitcoin. On the other hand, it will assist in the expansion of your business. People will talk about you accepting Bitcoin and spread the word. As a result, you may gain more customers.
Exactly, discounts on bitcoin payments could work too so people are urged to use bitcoin as a payment option, and a good way to entice those who are not using bitcoin as well. Pair this with a good infographic on how to create bitcoin wallets as well as how to fund them, and your target demographic is set!
1867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is ok to sell your Bitcoin. on: January 16, 2023, 09:21:29 PM
I've been in this crypto space for a while now and there is this mentality instilled in people that seems selling ones coin is bad and one is heading to failure which is very wrong at least from my perspective.
I've always been on the track that investing in Bitcoin simply means buying low and selling high,  which I think is one of the keys to success in the crypto Industry. I always tell people that the moment you buy at a certain price and it starts rising possibly to a price that you feel ok and contented with, then you should feel free and confident to sell atleast to get the profit first and always use stop loss just incase the price drops, rather than having a little portion of Bitcoin and letting it get liquidated just because you want to preach and prove HODLing, trying not to feel odd.
So my question is:
~ Do people hodl just because others are HODLing?
~ Why so people hold rather than sell and buy again when low
~ What is your major reason for HODLing and how do your survive the bear market?

Agreed. I noticed it too for quite some time and that mentality is pretty common and easily instilled amongst the newbies. Somehow the pros and the veterans aren't so much indoctrinated by said notion. Then again for me it's all a matter of capacity really. If you think you can still carry on holding coins despite the bear market, then by all means hold them til the bull market comes around. But if you greatly depend on the value of those coins you own then I highly suggest you pull out some, or maybe even all of it if ever. After all the not losing is still winning, and in this case we have to mitigate the losses you incur which will only be possible if you pull your coins out at an opportune time.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: Does a side job/business improve your finanical stability ? on: January 16, 2023, 08:29:36 PM

To make a living, we must work. In uncertain days like now facing the global economic downturn, a stable job with high income becomes a scarcity. A side job or business seems like more necessary than ever, which can minimize the risks of losing your current job, ending up pennyless. However, a side job/business also takes time and efforts and can never be attained whenever we need it. What did you do or will you do in order to ensure your finanical stability despite all unfavorable circumstances ?
You're seeing a side hustle wrongly. For me, if you'd have to learn skills extensively to the point that it almost takes as much time as going for your regular 9-5, it's not a side hustle anymore, it's a second job, which could cause you to lose employment of both. For you to have a side hustle you must know what your skills are, or at least what your hobbies are. Then find a way to profit from it. I myself, have been a writer for 2 years now, starting from what otherwise would seem to be just a regular hobby I do to pass off time. Ultimately, my point is that your side hustle must not take too much time and effort as your regular job, that way you can still focus on both without losing your social life in the process, or your employment.
1869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm planning on hosting a BTC seminar and a friend also followed my path on: January 16, 2023, 07:48:26 PM
Some people are even showing more interest in Bitcoin in my City, I am thinking of hosting a seminar about Bitcoin but I want to make sure I invite the right people, have anyone hosted a BTC seminar before? Any good advice on this?
First and foremost, congrats on you and your friend's budding venture. Now on the topic of advices. I would highly suggest you don't sell bitcoin to your attendees as "the end-all-be-all" coin like most bitcoin seminars I have attended to. It paints the wrong impression and pulls in the wrong type of people into the industry. You must focus on how bitcoin could make everything better starting from technology, as well as other things, and ultimately, provide them with takeaways so the lessons they have learned through your seminar lingers. Offer them something like a reward or whatnot for learning cryptocurrencies, that way learning is incentivized and ensured.
1870  Economy / Economics / Re: Third of world economy to hit recession in 2023, IMF head warns on: January 16, 2023, 05:48:06 PM
China is just coming out of its lockdown attempts, the opposite can happen is a story today I have also seen a warning about.   Despite the best attempts of many western governments to restrict the circulation of excess money printed in prior years, there has been little quantitative tightening actually done just these rate rises which is something else.  The longer term picture still contains excessive currency, if China is back to its full use and production it will raise many commodity markets and in turn we are less likely to see a lull in demand within markets.

Quote
“bushfire” of expected Covid infections

I agree thats likely but what % of those cases are serious life threatening is going to be quite low, though it might be callous to say perhaps as any deaths are serious it should not be enough vs a working population to be restrictive to the economy or economic productivity.  Whereas a lockdown situation done in a blanket way for years now has been excessive in its effects.
Lockdown or not this is concerning news from China, as one of the superpowers in this planet right now it's a surprise they are experiencing such severe economic struggles. Although in retrospect, this is no surprise considering that along with the lockdowns, they are also experiencing massive issues with their housing market caused by their biggest real estate tycoon defaulting on loans he took to make residential buildings AFAIK. We just need to sit back and observe if whether these issues will be solved when everyone from China start going back to their offices.
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India Governor Calls for an Outright Crypto Ban on: January 15, 2023, 10:17:50 PM
I doubt many new-age Indians as well as legislators will take heed of what he said, especially now that more and more people are being more accepting of bitcoin's existence and by adjacent, cryptocurrencies. That being said, since he's on a position of power it is still possible that he could make take some measure to realize this dream of his, however India being a democratic state, they'd have to speak with the people ultimately which as of now considering how my Indian friends think of it, is gonna be futile.
1872  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Btc get to $12k or $10k on: January 15, 2023, 08:58:34 PM
Short answer: We don't know

As it stands today, bitcoin may have recovered a fair bit of its valuation from last year's collapse, sitting at a snug 20-21k just around yesterday. Although this may change in the coming days for the better or for worse. All in all, we can't really tell if bitcoin is going to drop to one lint a piece or if it's going to reach its ATH. We can only predict. 20k may seem reasonable now but without proper reason for it to be valuated, it's going to drop real soon anyway. As of now no good news has come around for bitcoin's value to soar up so best we stay put and updated.
1873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet for BTC used to be the best on: January 15, 2023, 08:02:32 PM
Between paper wallet and hardware wallet which one is more superior than the other for Bitcoin? What matters the most to me is keeping your Bitcoin keys offline and which one is best practice for this? Years back paper wallet triumph over everything until hardware wallet came and every advice on the forum now is get a hardware wallet.

Which paper wallet generator still functions today? Also is there any risk using paper wallet apart from keeping the phrase offline?
Paper wallets can easily be destroyed, lost, and be mistaken for regular paper with a bunch of codes on it. I literally lost a couple hundred dollars worth of bitcoin from using paper wallets because I forgot to take my wallet out when I went to do my laundry. Hardware wallets do not have this problem because of their relative bulk and the fact that some of them are made of weapons-grade metal alloy. I still think of using paper wallet every now and then because after all it is much more convenient and cheap, you literally only have to tear a piece of paper or maybe print stuff out and you're good to go. At the end of the day it is all a subject of preference, and I guess I can vouch for everyone when we say that hardware wallets are just objectively better in every way.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Could be a bigger challenge when market force is low on: January 15, 2023, 07:24:04 PM
Roulette games alikes will never go out of business for online casinos but I still believe that video games are a big challenge for casinos, now that we have play to earn games is big not even a bigger challenge for casinos?

I know that play to earn isn't perfected yet, too many flaws with the tokenomics and stuff but if a better solution comes there might be less interest for online casinos, the only games that will keep them alive is Roulette and the oldies.
I've seen that in my country, before Axie the common games our people play with, besides the common sports like basketball and chess, are cockfights and online chinese poker. They bet on these games like their life depended on it and well, most of them lost a couple hundred dollars in the processs. When Axie Infinity came along, there goes everyone's money, suddenly everyone's glued to their phones and computers playing this hit game and earning in the process. I do think there will be some sort of competition between gambling and play to earn should the latter be perfected or at least be improved upon, but that is a big if, and with how people look at crypto following the collapse and multiple scandals, it may take some time before people gain confidence in playing P2E games again.
1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be vulnerable to Quantum Computers in about 2 years on: January 15, 2023, 06:34:38 PM
Everything that has level 1 access security will be vulnerable to quantum computers in the future. Social networking sites, and anything that requires 1 step verification like for instance, cryptocurrency wallets will be at risk of breach and compromise. But think of it this way, surely, when the future comes around and quantum computers become publicly available, there will be measures taken by the IT sector of our future to alleviate and maybe even prevent such attacks. They may even do so before commercially opening the use of quantum computers in the future because let's face it, everyone knows this is going to be a problem. themselves included. So there's no way they wouldn't figure stuff out before implementing such powerful tool.
1876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your emotions balanced especially regarding Bitcoin on: January 14, 2023, 10:42:51 PM
The way I have always tackled anything in life especially Bitcoin is to have balanced emotions.

Lets say Bitcoin is $19,000. If it goes up 3% then do you throw a party? Then don't be upset when it drops 3%.

If Bitcoin doubles, I wouldn't throw a party especially since it was at $60k+ at one point. So if it cuts in half and goes to $9k I will treat it the same.

Not financial advice, but lots of people freak out over the price of Bitcoin or anything for that matter but don't have real logical reasons.

If it goes up 3% and you would be happy or neutral, then you can be bummed if it goes down 3% but don't sell based on that.

How do you guys emotionally balance Bitcoin?

Not financial advice, this thought could be applied anywhere.
This is a postulate and a common sense at this point but as common sense is, it's not really that common. Anyways, it's always important to keep a calm and collected attitude whenever you're trading as slight changes in mood and emotions may render you falling into your own heuristics and biases which itself is not good. So just like you said, don't celebrate, and most of all don't let it get to you as well when bitcoin goes down in value. After all the cryptocurrency is cyclical in nature and there will come a time in the foreseeable future when it will bounce back and reach another ATH like always. I think this suggestion is the most important thing you can impart to newbies as a seasoned crypto trader.
1877  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did Miss El Salvador cause the Bitcoin price to spike last night? on: January 14, 2023, 08:49:20 PM
It is not a Bitcoin adoption and Bitcoin did not pump because of this show.

I agree. It is difficult to know what causes a price spike because there are so many players interacting in the market. I think a price recovery is within the normal range for this 2023 once most of the leverage garbage is gone and we are getting closer to halving, although there is still more to come.

The Miss promoting Bitcoin is fine with me, as is anything that helps popularize it, but I think it is extremely unlikely to have anything to do with the price rise.
Mans literally just stated what seems to be the most probable cause for bitcoin's rise in value last night. But as you have said, a price recovery is already due within this year, just so happened that it coincided with Miss Universe and Miss El Salvador's costume showcase, although honestly speaking the price rise could also be attributed to the showcase, as it literally promoted bitcoin in one of the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world. Then again I really do think it's just bitcoin riding the same trend in valuation as with other stores of value rather than a measly showcase in a pageant.
1878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Call centres selling fake crypto taken down in Bulgaria, Serbia and Cyprus on: January 14, 2023, 07:39:34 PM
These must be the well known ponzi schemes we usually see being promoted on the internet, where they promise you can earn huge interest in short periods of time. I thought these schemes weren't popular anymore, after so many people losing lots of bitcoins years ago, but it seems europeans aren't aware about the risks of depositing in such platforms, as they have lost 2$ million euros to those scammers. Glad the scammers were tracked and found. On the contrary of what they imagine, crypto environment isn't a lawless land, at least on these cases... If they had regularized their ponzi business, they could end like Celsius, with the justice by their side legitimizing the theft. Tongue

How contradictory and hypocrite authorities are...

(do I understand correctly they inform about the action one year after, or someone made a mistake with a date? publication date is Jan 12th 2023)
Probably it was a mistake when typing.
These aren't ponzi schemes at all, as they are literally scamming people out of their own money. Most probably they promise some sort of already existing crypto like bitcoin for instance, in exchange for real life pesos but when things start rolling they don't give the people their due crypto, because they don't have it in them. These people most likely have connections and possible ponds to fish in which would be very integral as these are the literal things that empower such scammers. Once the authorities get a hold of this list, they won't have control anymore.
1879  Economy / Economics / Re: "Prepare for defation in 2023" on: January 13, 2023, 09:47:59 PM
Prepare to experience a big surge for Bitcoin like it was 2015 - 2017 Cool
We passed on a bear market for an entire year and the cycle that we believe happens is going to set a bull run. That's what we're set to believe and if the same run just as those years, it's going to be a big bull run again.

But as years have seen that there could be a change which is about to come and just as you've said, the bull run might come earlier than expected.

Anyway, if it goes like that then I'm thankful but if not then that's just fine.
Not so fast my friend. The halving which is a guaranteed bull for bitcoin wouldn't happen until sometime next year. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a bull run as soon as possible as much as the next guy but insinuating one would happen now, especially with multiple scandals coming in and out of the industry is a little too ambitious if not nigh impossible. The bear market is pretty much far from over and i don't want to be the bearer of bad news but may stick around for a little while, unless something happens sometime around June. Then again bitcoin never failed to surprise me so something may just come around. If so I'd come back to this post and congratulate you.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 13, 2023, 08:34:06 PM

Since there's no official news yet from a good and reliable source about Jordan Clarkson declining his contract extension to Utah Jazz, what we might see in the news is considered a rumor. Almost all related issues referring to contract extension are being publicly shown to the community.

Although maybe there's really an event that Clarkson didn't like the offer, maybe we can downgrade the "decline" into "still working out" as maybe there are parts of the contract that Clarkson didn't catch his interest but still he wants to remain in the Utah Jazz jersey.

Amid contract rumors, Jordan Clarkson says he wants to stay with Utah Jazz

I guess it's too early as there are no official news from Utah itself. Although Clarkson says he want to stay with the Jazz if given the chance, but we will see. Since they are still in the rebuilding phase and maybe thinking how to make the team better.

Luka showing his magic again with another triple double to boot with their double overtime win against the Lakers.

Good support from C. Wood, and Tim Hardaway, this is what Luka needed, Mavs that can bring offense and help him in the scoring load.
I doubt they'd take Jordan Clarkson out of the team, he's a great player and an integral part of the Utah Jazz, performance-wise he's always been a decent guard and had always secured rebounds for the team. So there's a high possibility that with his enthusiasm to stay with the team, and his great performance, that Utah Jazz retains him and replace somebody else with a more potent player. But for now, as you have said, there's still no news regarding Jordan Clarkson's future with the Jazz so we can only speculate about his team placement until such news arrive.
