1881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If I have lots of money & you ask me to invest part of it in PoS on: April 22, 2021, 03:55:16 PM
That's why being a validator requires an amount that can't be achieved by most. It's for those people who really cares about the network and wants to help and with the possible little to no feedback from doing so.

Well, we're entitled to what we want to do with our money and it's up to you if you're going to be one or invest it elsewhere which make it profitable and you will be satisfied with.

It's not really about the money.  It's about full decentralization and security of a network.
Would you accept it if your leaders/politicians ask you to pay certain amount of money in order to take part in governance or voting in election?

A public network ought to be open to governance and consensus without restrictions. It shouldn't be determined by money... the qualifications should be by merit.

I think there are networks where you can stake some of amount of money to earn reward without participating in consensus, right? I don't have problems with them even though I have never attempted staking before nor inquire about how they work.
Why I'm more interested in PoS is because of its vulnerablity that can be exploited by those who wish to centralized a cryptocurrency.
1882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has intrinsic value like Gold but better? on: April 22, 2021, 03:31:58 PM
I think what makes these things valuable to people is because they can do useful things for them, and the scarce ones increase in price due to their high demand.
You could turn a mere paper into something valuable if you could make it very useful to people, then scarcity of such paper would most certainly make its price increase if it can't be replicated.

1883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Do you trust centralized exchanges? on: April 22, 2021, 02:59:46 PM
Don't store too much fund on centralized exchange no matter how well "regulated" the exchange appears to be. Bitcoin was meant to let you control your own fund and then trade peer-to-peer with other participants. So, it's better to trade on exchanges (especially the decentralized ones) that let's you trade while you control funds. They are generally called non-custodial exchanges
1884  Economy / Economics / Re: "BTC not a currency per se but can be an alternative asset" China on: April 22, 2021, 10:59:36 AM
Depends on what they mean by both "btc not a currency per se (did the bank/govt really say that?) , and also the "prevention of speculating with btc"

Hope the speculation doesn't mean prediction/betting. You can predict or bet on what Bitcoin price will be in the future without  gambling on the price of Bitcoin and messing up the market for others. Safe bet could involve buying the significant dips of Bitcoin with what you can afford to risk and selling some of your investment at higher prices when you need some money for other important things
1885  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The old fiat days are behind us! on: April 22, 2021, 10:29:03 AM
As long as it's not about discarding the papers or physical currencies. People should still be able to exchange crypto in paper/physical form.

I wouldn't completely discard transportation with horses just incase using machines becomes a problem. It's possible that the horses were specifically made for that purpose, so i think it'd be better to find ways to use them right and achieve similar results found in the man-made alternatives.
1886  Economy / Economics / Re: The Country Cryptocurrency vs Bitcoin on: April 22, 2021, 10:02:17 AM
Most countries will have their own CBDC in the next 5-10 years, but it will be nothing but digital fiat - things will not change much between fiat and Bitcoin.

exactly, and the funny thing is that it won't be anything new. every time we use our credit cards or basically any other form of digital payment that goes through the banks or some centralized payment processor we are already using "digital currencies". what difference would it make if that centralized currency were called digital or crypto? nothing.
this is why i disagree with the first part and think only a small number of countries are going to create a "cryptocoin".

In regards to the bold part, I think a true cryptocurrency would be properly and cryptographically secure. I wonder if the security can be considered proper if the currency is not well decentralized/p2p with mass participation to protect the security.
1887  Other / Off-topic / Re: The world is like an animal jungle on: April 22, 2021, 09:18:06 AM
The solution to the problem is repentance and believing in the SAVIOUR of the World (an invincible LORD who CREATED this World)... HE will dwell in anyone who believes in HIM and help him/her do what is right always. If HE doesnt dwell in you, then you are non of HIS.

This World is under the power of an evil entity called satan, but GOD has given us HIS Son(the SAVIOUR of mankind) to free people from the power of satan. People will be set free once they believe in JESUS CHRIST the Messiah. Only HIM can free the world and bring true peace to the World.

Everyone who doesn't do good always needs to accept he/she is equally guilty and contributing to the evil in the world. Anyone who breaks a single commandment of GOD breaks all. That person is equally evil and all evil people belong to satan if they haven't been saved by CHRIST

1888  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you know you're in Simulated environment if this happens to you? on: April 21, 2021, 05:40:12 PM

Being in a matrix is much likely possible than your assumptions. I am not taking any medicine so no choice to drug me and create a fake version of me.

You think people flying in a ship to a simulated red Planet can't be given "something" (something in their foods/drinks maybe) to eat to get them to forget about certain things they are not supposed to see on their journey to Mars, or even get them to "sleep walk" while suppressing their ability to understand the truth around them during their journey?      I also imagine that an advanced ship will have large screen that shows a simulated/fake world to make the occupant think that's what the world presently around their ship looks like.  Then the ship lands on a part of Earth that has real red dust, in a large man-made space (space many times larger than Dubai large building with snow in them)... and such space could have lots of simulated/fake graphics around.

I think humans could create things like that... maybe just for entertainment... then it gets hijacked by deciever who uses it to deceive people.
1889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC and Illuminatis on: April 21, 2021, 04:18:02 PM
The problem with this is that you can't achieve a new world order on a Network you don't control or on a Network that's not centralized.
It has to be a currency that is controlled/centralized by few tyrants and dictators
1890  Economy / Economics / Re: The Country Cryptocurrency vs Bitcoin on: April 21, 2021, 03:39:20 PM
Ofcourse. What will help Bitcoin remain competitive is its uniqueness, such as decentralization and its other important ideals.
It's actually never a good idea for a Decentralized Network like Bitcoin to compete with them in centralized manner. Better it becomes decentralized in most things it does. There are lots of people who will definitely choose Bitcoin because of the decentralization... if they need centralized coin, they use the Central Bank coins.
1891  Other / Off-topic / How do you know you're in Simulated environment if this happens to you? on: April 21, 2021, 03:01:55 PM
How do you know You are in a simulated environment if you are drugged and kept in there without you knowing?
Imagine getting drugged and kept in a fake version of something you have been taught was real... eg drugged and kept in simulated Mars environment? What exactly do you look out for to be sure whether the environment is really on Mars or not?
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Feedback Request: Would you buy a coin that can go only up? on: April 21, 2021, 02:51:41 PM
Why would project go only up? Seems the idea is to get people to put in their money in the project without letting them withdraw whenever they need to? With withdrawal fees of 90% of their funds until the the price of the coin increases by x500 at a specific period?
Anyway I think it would be better to invest in a project that goes up if the project is doing something that's very useful and beneficial to people and society. There has to be useful services/products its providing, I think.
1893  Other / Off-topic / Re: COVID HERE TO STAY? on: April 21, 2021, 10:25:04 AM
A living Being drifting very close to sewage in toilet tank/pit will likely suffer from the deadly diseases that is in the pit/tank. This is part of the idea of what is happening to Earth, humans & other living things in her.

But the truth is that disease can be completely stopped today if the people of this world humble themselves before the CREATOR of Heaven and Earth. Unfortunately, the world is more interested in solving the problem themselves than solving it the right way... The issues Earth is going through have gone beyond normal.
The problem is that those who are blind spiritually can't solve the problem the right way.

It can be stopped immediately or the CREATOR gives humanity the right idea to stop it but humility comes first.
The dogs need to humble themselves and get cleaned. They need to stop barking at their LORD.
1894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What goes up must come down on: April 21, 2021, 09:36:48 AM
The volatility needs to be moderate though... without compromising on True Cryptocurrency deflationary feature.

Taking huge profit at the detriment of the Network should be avoided. A smart person would understand the impact that could have on other investors who are supporting a Cryptocurrency Project.
We need to encourage people to use cryptocurrency within the economy and in well decentralized manner. This would also help keep price healthy.

1895  Economy / Economics / Re: Is master card giving us the go ahead to keep buying coins on: April 21, 2021, 09:27:26 AM
On one hand, it's good that companies like PayPal and Mastercard are willing to accept cryptocurrencies and make steps towards adoption. On the other hand, it more and more feels like they're all trying to turn cryptocurrencies into some sort of web money. People should know about the pros of crypto, such as privacy, full control, decentralization. If they all link crypto to bank accounts (which is inevitable, right?) and make the transactions through credit cards, this poses the question: what's the point of such cryptocurrency use? Will it still be crypto?

One of the main reasons people have to be bothered is the Centralization and other features/issues that go contrary to the ideals of True Cryptocurrency. People who depend on centralized organizations to store cryptocurrency are likely contributing to the zombification of the truely decentralized cryptocurrency. If the centralized companies/organizations take most of the users that should have been using cryptocurrency in decentralized form, then expect the potential turning of the cryptocurrency into Centralized Organization controlled by owners of the centralized companies and money bags.
1896  Economy / Economics / Re: an economic thought experiment on: April 21, 2021, 09:10:37 AM
I think I would simply judge this based on the total supply (whether in bits or sats,) and how much of the bits are rewarded to people compare to their total supply, if alot of numbers are rewarded to people compared to the numbers of supply, I would still view it scarce.
But, when you are about to buy something for investment purposes then definitely you will feel the differences.
I believe due to this kind of psychological thing, most altcoins are finding their success more easier.

Low value altcoins are having some edge over higher priced coins, because people are still believing in larger volume they could easily make good profits. They may be right or wrong but when they are spending money they just want to pick many rather than just one. If we start trade in bits or sathosi then we can easily hit one million dollar levels for sure in coming years.

Well, I have probably considered the use of small units in the past, I think I observed few potential problems I don't want to mention yet. Just wish it was started early as suggested, but yet we have fiat currencies like USD existing in both dollar and cents... why not Bitcoin?
1897  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: UNREALIZED PROFIT IS NOT YET YOUR OWN on: April 20, 2021, 04:55:53 PM
Better to just focus more on buying the significanct dips of only true, useful and safe cryptocurrency with small amount(or amount you can afford to risk).   If possiblle, allocate a certain amount of your money in stablecoin to automatically buy the significant dips while you not available.
I'd advice to only sell parts of your investment when you need some money for other important things in your life.
1898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / If I have lots of money & you ask me to invest part of it in PoS on: April 20, 2021, 03:35:31 PM
Assuming I have alot of money and you try to convince me to invest part of it in a decentralized project with Proof of Stake in order to qualify as a validator... I will likely never invest in such project if it's difficult for anyone to easily become a validator.  I'm more interested in robust Network with consensus that anyone can easily join and leave at will. I wouldn't really trust a Cryptocurrency Network without all or majority it's participants taking part in full network consensus and monitoring the network for issues .
I'd still consider PoS very risky if you just have to pay  $100 to be a validator. It should worth just your internet device, talents/skills, reputation and probably a means of identification to be a validator in a truely Decentralized Network/System.
1899  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook coin will now be DIEM on: April 20, 2021, 02:40:38 PM
Well, I expect cryptocurrencies, tokens or stablecoins that are not well decentralized to face alot of problems with regulators in the future. It's going to be really challenging for them if they can't follow the national rules without compromising on the ideals
1900  Other / Off-topic / Re: After death we can back again in this world? on: April 20, 2021, 10:45:58 AM
Humans will only die once, after that comes judgment.

We will however have a New Earth where both the dead and the living who were raptured in this current world and become immortal will rule over the rest of mankind (mankind/humans who will still die) for 1000yrs
