1901  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Beware of the new scam trend. on: July 21, 2022, 02:10:28 PM

too risky for the scammer to giveaway his private key as well but yep they always take the risky things in life. if the victim wanna be is quicker to send out the USDT, he'd be laughing hard leaving a soop to the scammer.  Grin
1902  Economy / Speculation / Re: MtGox finally going to distribute 137,000 BTC sometime next month on: July 12, 2022, 11:06:45 AM

You missed the fact that every victim can choose whether he wants Bitcoin, Bitcoin fork coin, or fiat - and if the trustee is going to sell Bitcoin to pay off fiat, he won't be so stupid as to bypass the OTC, although nothing about those genius Japanese people would surprise me. Someone wants to portray the whole thing far more negatively than it actually is, it is not about 1 million BTC, but just a little more than 140 000 BTC.

I do not know how the victims will be compensated? But if they were to give them fiat for the bitcoin they owned, how would the price of bitcoin be calculated? Will it be calculated at the current price? Or at the market price in 2014 when the MtGox exchange closed? I don't know actually because if they were compensated at the 2014 price when the MtGox closed they wouldn't get much because the price at that time was around $400-800.

some of them may probably choose fiat to wait for price to dip. his is going to be funny because they might think the rest will eventually sell when they received the BTC.

it doesn't make sense to sell now while the price is very low already. but perhaps some users will sell while they are already in the brink and no job and its a huge profit because that was just $400/btc during that time. this is an unexpected money for some also because 8 years after they hold withdrawals, they've already lose hope but here we are.
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption In El Salvador Seems To Be Failing on: July 11, 2022, 05:28:03 PM
The article says that 60% of Salvadorans got into the Bitcoin train when it was introduced; With an estimated population of six and a half million people, that's about 3.9 million and with 10% still using it after exhausting their airdrop bitcoins, that is approximately 400k users in the country. Those are not terrible numbers if you ask me, for the first year of introduction and in a bear market.

The bear market is naturally a slow time for Bitcoin adoption and this would become a trend if more countries adopt it as a currency; Periods of growth where everyone is happy, mixed with bear markets, where citizens complain their assets are lossing value.
I expect volatility to slowly reduce as adoption grows over the years, but while we still have wild fluctuations, there would always be analysis about what Bitcoin project failed when the market slows down.

the 60% really needs to learn trading this time to maintain the value. someone i think should act to provide signals for them so they'd know when to sell and buy.

60% is close to majority already. in the long run if they hold BTC, they all will still be in the successful side of their history.
1904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 11, 2022, 02:32:53 AM

the cost of buying this entertainment is limitless, there are millionaires who lost a fortune in gambling. it took a lot of money before they learn because the brains likes the endorphins  and dopamines made their billionaire mind spends money.

just like the gamblers, investors also act the same even when the new projects they invest are somewhat unsure or scamy but because they are used to the feeling that the project could be a success, they still buy the new meme tokens even in the bear market.
1905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and crypto can only stay if it getting simple also secure people are afraid on: July 10, 2022, 02:29:20 AM

are you open to depositing your BTC to banks?

if not then don't use the bank apps for your BTC. people will use whichever banks apps they can use but you can not expect a bitcoiner deposit a satoshi to them.
however the retirees will likely try to trust them with such. old people will rely to 3rd parties because they also couldn't trust their sons and daughters could manage their funds.
1906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why can't bitcoin be based on something that has value? on: July 10, 2022, 01:45:37 AM
Even gold isn't backed up by anything, right?  Grin
So why do people trust it and want to pay with expensive value? Because people believe Gold is valuable. The main thing here is people's trust. It is the same as Bitcoin, it doesn't need to be backed up by something because people trust it. People believe Bitcoin is something valuable and useful for human life. In this matter, something like Gold and Bitcoin is acceptable although it is not guaranteed by anything.

Bitcoin is software. Gold is an element that cannot be created by man. It has to be mined. And obviously there is a limited supply of it available here on earth. Gold is a precious metal that has many applications and uses. Bitcoin is just software. You can copy software and rename it. You can't do that with gold.

gold is just too old and so many flaws we don't even know if the vaults storing our golds can be trusted or if the gold bars are hollow. this is why we are not in this fiat system shrouded by ponzis and governed by ponzis.

anything old is to be replaced because they are flawed. like the horses that use to roam in the towns but are not replaced by cars. BTC is base on computer networks working together spending huge amount of energy to create few of them.
1907  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 10, 2022, 12:57:24 AM

this started even before covid though so reasons got accumulated but this gas supply made it worse. saw the news where the tuktuk lined up stretches to miles waiting for their turn to refuel.

Protesters burst into the palace. Sri Lanka's president and prime minister inaugurated himself and fled by plane.

sounds like Trump's Capitol siege. yep we have seen it many times in this century where leaders fly by plane and its not surprising anymore, people will blame and kill him by hand if he stays. isn't India helping the country?  both country seem related who comes from same root.

so what does Wickremesinghe of IMF mean? do they want to replace Sri Lanka like colonize them or Sri Lanka can elect another leader?  this could lead to a more terrible, they better reelect a reliable leader  this time.
1908  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 10, 2022, 12:38:40 AM
I will try and share it here. It's always my usual doing to look for a streaming link that came from other forums or those shared by groups that fall in the category of the "under the sun discussion" on social media. It's really not interesting to watch a live free stream on Facebook by sharers but if you will satisfy watching it then go for it.

They really need to put those annoying features since they will be detected by Facebook's strict algorithm and the stream will be taken down automatically.
Sharing direct PPV boxing streaming links on social media will be automatically detected using a strict algorithm, some streaming videos are not detected automatically by reducing the streaming video screen and lowering the quality, even though it passes detection from the algorithm system but no viewer is satisfied with the banner in the video it will interfere focus while watching. I usually watch it in cafes with the boxing community, but I have an alternative link to watch the live stream but again it's just an alternative so I don't use it very often.
That's true they used to be many streamers of fights, on Facebook specifically but I'm still lucky to find one and I hope my luck in finding a streamer continues in this fight, it's one of the fights I'd like to see since you mentioned your alternative link can you post it here.
Some streamers are good at evading detection usually they turn off the sound and restrict comments or change the title to evade detection.

few more fights and i have not found a link as well. lol any link to share the live streaming? there use to be many of them on youtube and its easy to find. now they are very careful not to get caught. but its sad to lose a bet while not seeing the fight. the odds is very close on sportsbet that bookies look at the possibility that Magsayo could lose the fight.

1909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: July 10, 2022, 12:21:27 AM
I've been backing Fiziev since his win vs Marc Diakiese.  But I have a feeling RDA could derail the hype train.  We'll see.
I think Fiziev wins here again, but I am more interested to see Caio Borralho in action on co-main event.
He might be good addition to Middleweight category and this is his second fight in UFC, with big reach advantage against Petrosyan.

There is one fight canceled just hours before start of this UFC event with Nina Nunes dropping off in fight against Cynthia Calvillo due to stomach virus problem.
I don't know if this was really a virus or something related with weight cutting that can create issues like this, but I wanted to bet against Nunes before this news.

For anyone who didn't make predictions for Sportsbet UFC Multi Master Challenge, there is still time:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405301.0

the odds is saying Fiziev. participants in this multimaster challenge also are rooting for Fiziev with 1.48. Watching Fiziev can take punches from his opponent, he may also take the punches of RDA easily. what he may not be prepared for is that takedowns which is the best course of action by RDA to submit a wild man like Fiziev. the old RDA will derail him.
1910  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance will be ban in the Philippines? on: July 09, 2022, 05:58:50 AM
binance always abide laws of certain country's regulation. the binance.ph seem already in place which users are directed to binance.com.

binance knew Philippines has the biggest crypto users in Asia, it will be a big loss if they are not going to deal with it as soon as possible. it is not a big problem for users though because there are also huge list of exchanges that  users can go.
1911  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I doing the right thing on: July 09, 2022, 01:25:58 AM

How can a newbie invest in good altcoins? I know about BTC and ETH but I think I can make more money from altcoins instead of BTC and ETH, I did my research and I have a few projects in mind but I don't know if they are worthy..

Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero to name a few

there is money to be made in altcoins, you just have to pick the right ones. try looking into the pages of the coins on top list of coinmarketcap.
among you list, its only avalanche that got a good chance. its one of the popular which you can't go wrong if you go with it. still the most recommended of all is just to stick with BTC. its been emphasized a lot.

among the top altcoins actually, i would rather be with doge. a first choice.
1912  Economy / Economics / Re: WHY ITS SO POSITIVE THIS BEARMARKET. on: July 09, 2022, 01:13:27 AM

i do agree we need this bear market for a bigger rally in the coming bull run but this bear market is not going to clean bad coins out of the listing. just look at how strong the Shib is and its on the top 20 including the doge which people are calling the first meme joke coin.

the market is just the market and there is a technology behind these tokens that are not going to disappoint the long term holders of these tokens.
1913  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1-5 min scalping on binance is it worth it on: July 09, 2022, 12:32:07 AM

that's one fast way to lose your money. have you not notice that BTC price can abruptly  jump from 20,000 to 21,000 in less than a minute?

i think everyone who had been in the spot market have tried scalping that frame but personally me have seen it plotted to make me lose my coins. you have got to have a god-like skills to make it.  if the market is steady going to one bullish direction and you are just selling in the 5 minute chart and buy back after a tiny dip.  a bot for this will be useful.
1914  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top US Energy Company to Explore Bitcoin Mining on: July 08, 2022, 05:55:28 AM
aren't the politicians crying about Bitcoin taking up so much energy causing to heat up the atmosphere of our green planet?   Grin its pretty obvious this time they were all just FUD.

OPEC companies will also take this consideration since its a more proficient way to make money directly without having to make negotiations. money will be earned going directly to the wallet address using the gas to power up the mining farms.
1915  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: July 08, 2022, 05:04:41 AM
So far, everything has followed an advantageous path for Russia; The ruble has appreciated against the dollar and Europe's dependence on Russian gas continues... In fact, such a result is not surprising, because Europe's dependence on Russian gas is not a problem that can be solved overnight. And while Russia sells natural gas in rubles, it is inevitable that the ruble will appreciate against the dollar.

Everything we live in resembles a chaotic period when countries tried to weaken each other before a great world war. We use the world's resources like a weapon rather than sharing them efficiently. I hope that we will all adopt rational policies instead of hostile attitudes as soon as possible.

the world now sees we are dependent to gas whichever it may come from. whether these gas are from Saudi or from Russia we need it and the “Go Green” movement will be set aside when it comes to weakening each other. when leaders want other leaders to just submit to them, the going green movement will not matter.

none of the US, EU and Russian leaders find ways to it harmonious to each other to make something good to happen.
i'm already beginning to think they conspire each other the leaders of West to East to make all the people in the world poor.
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The State of Cryptocurrency Report on: July 08, 2022, 04:21:58 AM

The past few months have been one helluva of a time for those of us in the cryptospace. The major thing which I believe has kept us going is trust and optimism in Bitcoin. Today, I stumbled upon a report by Morning Consult on The Crypto Report: Our Analysts on the State of Cryptocurrency. Below are some of the key findings

1. Cryptocurrency is mainstream
Quote
A wide array of U.S. consumers have avidly adopted cryptocurrency over the last few years, but most of these crypto owners still view it as an asset in their portfolio rather than a form of payment

19. Will central bank digital currencies pose a challenge to crypto?
Quote
Even as over 90 governments pilot or scope issuing a central bank digital currency, we’re a long way from a global consensus that countries should issue their own CBDCs. Adults in several European and Asia-Pacific countries are unsure or skeptical, while Latin Americans are generally more positive.

Pretty interesting isn't it? What do you think about this report? What part do you agree or disagree with?

agree though there are some that is not really agreeable but yes they are true.
because cryptocurrency prices are going up and down, users of crypto will normally just see the coins and tokens they hold as investment and not a currency. one article i've read was that he tends to hold his coins for more 2-3 years to see the price going up before selling.

the leader in CBDC is China, i guess that makes European and Asia Pacific countries skeptical, they are waiting how US will handle this technology so these countries will have a model.  China's is already ahead of CBDC, they could implement it on the countries that makes transactions with them which they are likely going to win this CBDC race.

Latin American Countries embraces China's  leadership though. according to the news, some the Caribbean islands are already using Chinese CBDC. the Venezuelans and Argentinians are up for it.
1917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to staking - is this worth it? on: July 08, 2022, 12:50:00 AM

do not stake inside an exchange you will not be able to take it out any time.

staking is wroth  if you have a ton to invest on the coin. I have no idea with VRA but there are many tokens that is worth staking. Cardano seem to be worth it because right now there are many developers moving there and mostly doesn't need investing but ISPO.
1918  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 08, 2022, 12:08:45 AM
I wonder when was the origin of sports betting.  I read it is pretty common during Ancient Rome like horse racing and gladiator fights.
~snip~
^ I think before that is not gambling for them during ancient days, it is a competition or it could be entertainment during when there is a special days and time to time, they found out how to bet. I read this before somewhere else but don't know how to remember it. Gambling before probably the very first common is competition because people not only gamble but also it will be entertained.
However, I have learned a lot with the thread of OP, I don't know that during BC there is a dice game and they already knew it but on my mind, the origin of gambling should be on China.

trading with the lives of slave is probably normal during that time. making both slaves fight so they can have a champ to fight with another champ. these kind of records can be found in the archives. i don't think they call it sports betting during that time.

in the bible, they gamble when David fights Goliath. that should have been one of the history of gambling similar to sports betting but bible i guess is not an appropriate record for sports.
1919  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: trading is good for traders with passive mindset on: July 07, 2022, 07:33:19 AM

Trading can be a hectic endeavor must, especially for those who are not persistent in their trading journey, but those who put all their time and mind into trading will develop skills over time that makes them more stable in trading. So in conclusion trading is for the passive mindset and not for the laggy mindset.
Yup, trading is hectic and if you are a type of person who cant handle a hectic situation then trading is not for you. In trading one must be persistent here to try again if ever they fail on their first few attempts. I cant only agree on some of the terms that you used there like passive mindset.

I think this one is not appropriate in trading since trading is supposed to be an active activity so the mind of the trader must also be active at all times but indeed that a laggy mindset should be avoided. The only lag that can be accepted here is your internet connection because that was unavoidable. Sorry mate but the word passive best applies for investing.

trading is not just short term though.

someone from youtube which i watched weeks ago was that you can make money in  bull market but you can be rich in bear market. traders who are really patient in investing and buying coins in bear market does have a passive mindset as they are looking forward to what will happen in the future.

1920  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake making new accounts is too easy on: July 07, 2022, 06:20:14 AM
I can make 50 accounts with 50 fake emails. It's too easy.
It's mind boggling that I'm able to deposit 100k worth of crypto using nothing but a fake name and fake email. Lose it. Close account self exclude
Then repeat the process a week after with a new account.
  System identification is non existent

you can do it over an over but its not stake's fault. you know yourself that its you who made the accounts just as you said it. if you want to stop, don't make a new account. but why create account in the first place?

you exclude your first account that should make that account notable to bet. therefore its excluded. solve. just stop visiting stake or any other casino so you won't have urge to try again.
