Speaking of writhing, living 'meat,' how about Casu Marzu?  Sardinian (and Corsican) cheese that's processed with fly larvae, whose intestinal juices produce a unique flavor in the fermentation process.  When disturbed -- as they naturally would be when cheese is being eaten -- they can launch themselves several inches.  Buon appetito.
Casu marzu is considered to be unsafe to eat by Sardinian aficionados when the maggots in the cheese have died. Because of this, only cheese in which the maggots are still alive is usually eaten, although allowances are made for cheese that has been refrigerated, which can kill the maggots. When the cheese has fermented enough, it is often cut into thin strips and spread on moistened Sardinian flatbread (pane carasau), to be served with a strong red wine. Casu marzu is believed to be an aphrodisiac by Sardinians.Because the larvae in the cheese can launch themselves for distances up to 15 centimetres (6 in) when disturbed, diners hold their hands above the sandwich to prevent the maggots from leaping. Some who eat the cheese prefer not to ingest the maggots. Those who do not wish to do so place the cheese in a sealed paper bag. The maggots, starved for oxygen, writhe and jump in the bag, creating a "pitter-patter" sound. When the sounds subside, the maggots are dead and the cheese can be eaten.
Though it would have been worse had he tried the casu marzu, that sounds absolutely disgusting. "Waiter, a maggot just jumped into my eye..."

Anyone ever hear of Swedish "Surstömming"?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iebNdCSqWmc
Fixed that for you! Smiley

I myself ate Surströmming just last week. I've eaten it since I was like 6 or something. Once you get over the fact that it's fermented fish and that it smells, well, bad, it's really good. It's kinda salty.
Those guys on the video eats it completely wrong btw, the real way is to first remove the insides like with any fish, then you remove the flesh from the bones, put it on bread (Tunnbröd http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tunnbröd) with potatoes (preferably Almond Potato http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Almond_potato) and onions, place another slice of Tunnbröd on top, and then you just enjoy! Smiley
(Yup, I'm Swedish, I know this shit!)
how exactly you prepare that fish?in what you fermented it?I am curious about it.....maybe I will visit Sweden some day soon and give it a try.

The ST is vastly superior to the MS3 except for HP. It's not that far off though. I got my ST3 for 24.4. Best car all around. Mine is tuned ($500) and is nodded wrx fast.
1923  Other / Off-topic / Re: focus st vs mazda speed3 vs hyundai veloster which to buy? on: July 31, 2014, 05:07:02 PM
If you're going to get an MS3, now is the time to do it. It's not known when or if Mazda will make another. Their new 3 body style just came out and there have been no indications a Mazdaspeed version will be made. It's not unreasonable to assume there won't be another because Mazda is concentrating on fuel efficiency and appeal to wider markets in the their whole line-up.

Nope - I can be picky with food, and that pic grosses me out a bit.It was not till after college that I even ate pizza.
I am the opposite. I will try, and have enjoyed for the most part...all foods. Absolute favorite is Korean...then Mexican then Italian. I can eat Kimchee like there's no tomorrow.

But Fast Food burgers...absolutely no way. Watch Fast Food Nation and you won't either.
Would I eat that mess?  Not on a bet!  I really do not know where to begin in describing how disgusting that garbage is.  I guess one must begin with the glazed donuts serving as a bun, followed by the faux cheese product (most likely cheez whiz out of a jar).  And that meat?  Good Gawd what is it?  Looks vaguely like canned dog food.  I'll just be kind and refer to it as mystery meat.  I grew up on a cuisine that was heavy on the sea food and was a strange mixture of Italian, Slovene, and German cooking.  But even at its weirdest, nothing compared to this concoction.

Still misses the irony.  Sad.  Anyway, apparently threads here get noticed in some way I don't monitor.  Interesting.

But, if you really think you have a case there, rigon, you should note that in that (original) thread - only pointing out here the irony of you complaining about folk determining your intent.

There will be more examples forthcoming, no doubt.  Perhaps its best I point them out then in the thread where they are found.
I repeat.  Words have meaning .  I don't determine the meaning of words. sana wrote that the reason some Scandinavian liberal progressive countries are good in so many ways is because they don't have minorities.  Those words in that sentence have meaning that I did not infer.  If you choose not to accept the meaning of those words....that is another thing....but he wrote them.
1926  Other / Off-topic / Re: Observations on prayers and miracles? on: July 31, 2014, 03:29:31 PM
It is a fact that the nations I listed are the most liberal progressive.  It is a fact they have low crime.  It is a fact they have high quality of life indices and it is a fact that when surveyed they are among the most satisfied people on earth with their governments.  I can show you all the studies again.  Your agreement that they are indeed good places to live is completely NOT required, unsolicited, and irrelevant.  What is relevant and very interesting were your words regarding the reason those nations don't have problems is because they are white and don't have minorities.
1927  Other / Off-topic / Re: Observations on prayers and miracles? on: July 31, 2014, 03:05:36 PM
I'm only going to comment on this thread because its activity shows up in the "Today" stream...and because my name is in it.   Normally I prefer to just ignore the three of you on your religious threads.

But for the record:

rigon is a liar and a dumbass.  Anyone can go to the original thread and see he did not repeat my words and he is too effing stupid to grasp I was pointing out HIS listing of the best nations on earth are those which are all milky white.

I do not share his opinion that those nations are even the best, let alone his apparent preference for milky white folks.

That is all.
I never mentioned anything about white folks....that was you.  You were arguing that liberal progressivism leads to societal ruin (again not me).  I proved to you that the most liberal progressive nations on earth do not have societal ruin and in fact have quite the opposite.  I never said it was because many of their people are white.....that was you. I never invoked white or brown skinned people at all....only that the most liberal progressive places were in fact not showing any sign of societal ruin anything soon.   So when shown that liberal progressivism, contrary to your verbal diarrhea,  isn't the lone variable in determining whether a society goes downhill, you ran to your next unfavorite thing.....minorities.....must be the lack of minorities that gives those places higher ratings.....that's it.

If a nuclear bomb exploded over my head and I lived, Id believe in almost anything. But more importantly, pondering bullshit that NEVER happens as possible evidence of a biblical being is the height of stupidity.  I WILL NOT survive if a nuclear bomb goes off over my head.  A dead dismembered rotting man WILL NOT EVER come back to life. Wondering what a person might believe if this bullshit happened is a complete waste of time and exercise in futility.
Yes, you have given lip service to that statement several times.  I do not deny that.
There are things I dont know about which could include a higher power.....its just not your  bible.  That is NOT lip service.  Your saying so means absolutely  nothing. There is nothing more maddening than a dumb-ass who tries to tell me the intent of my words.

Future advice...dont pretend to tell people what they mean face to face .  Someone might break your neck....I would certainly be tempted.

If they hadn't been so eager to spy on ALL of us, and been willing to follow the law, they wouldn't be in this predicament. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. They are stewing in their own juices. We need a new agency built from the ground up,with NOBODY from the old agency in it.

I think the saddest thing is -- I now give more credence to Putin than America. It makes me want to cry, which I do sometimes.
1932  Other / Politics & Society / Re: HSBC: the bank that likes to say no to Muslim accounts on: July 30, 2014, 04:41:51 PM
They are a private lending business...they should have the right to choose with whom they do - or do not - do business, shouldn't they? No matter how inane we may think their risk assessment procedures to be.
And, in an era of no-real-growth, few investment opportunities, next-to-no borrowers who are both creditworthy and willing, and a flood of fake, printed "money", perhaps the cost of one more account is simply prohibitive...
1933  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israelis chanting “There’s no school tomorrow, there’s no children left in Gaza" on: July 30, 2014, 04:38:03 PM
Not surprised... children are the gateway of truth for how the the adults truly feel (they dont know better to keep quiet). You would imagine that the "people" that live in israel would be sensitive to ethic prosecution ... stupid is as stupid does...
1934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Israel's future war: War of God and Magog on: July 30, 2014, 04:36:33 PM
And to finish (to the joy of some no doubt):

1  While we know these events will all happen in the “last days” (38:16), we cannot determine whether the “War of Gog and Magog” will happen before the Rapture (when the Lord suddenly snatches born again believers in Jesus off of the earth, prior to the Tribulation) or not, because the text does not tell us one way or the other.

2  That said, I believe it is very possible — not certain, but very possible – that these events will unfold within this generation, and possibly quite soon. We are certainly seeing geopolitical events unfolding in a way consistent with Ezekiel 38-39.

3  Therefore, the most important question we must ask is this: Since the Lord in Ezekiel 38:7 told Gog, the enemy of Israel, to “get ready, be prepared,” then what should Israelis themselves and friends of Israel be doing?

4  Shouldn’t we, too, get ready and be prepared — spiritually, emotionally, physically, financially, and in every other possible way?

5  These prophecies are some of the most interesting and important descriptions of End Times events in all of the Bible. Unfortunately, too few people in the world are aware of them, or have read them, much less studied them carefully.

6  May the Lord bless you and reveal Himself and His heart to you as you get yourself ready for the prophecies coming our way.

As the forces of the Russian dictator (Gog) and his military coalition — including Iran, Libya, Algeria, Sudan, Turkey and other key Islamic nations — converges against the State of Israel in the last days, the Hebrew Prophet Ezekiel tells us that at the last moment when there seems to be know hope for Israeli Jews the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is going to supernaturally intervene.

That happened in 1973. Are you saying that Nixon was God?

Oops!
Really?  Russia, Turkey, etc attacked Israel?   Turkey was even on friendly terms with Israel at the time; that has only been changing recently.

I am not sure which objection paid less attention to what is being posted
1936  Other / Off-topic / Re: Israel's future war: War of God and Magog on: July 30, 2014, 04:26:58 PM
The Bible does not tell us exactly how this will happen, but it clearly describes a supernatural judgment. This is not a war started by the Israeli Defense Forces. These are not missiles from the Israeli Air Force. There no evidence in the text of Israelis defending themselves. Perhaps they are engaging in diplomacy. Perhaps they are hoping for the U.S. or the U.N. other nations to intervene. Whatever the case, the God of Israel steps in and defends Israel Himself, raining fire and brimstone down on the enemy forces and utterly destroying them.
1937  Other / Off-topic / Re: Israel's future war: War of God and Magog on: July 30, 2014, 04:21:32 PM

Could Israel currently be secure enough to fulfill this prophetic prerequisite? Honestly, I am not sure. Perhaps events soon will lead Israelis to being and feeling even more secure. But there is no question that even with emerging new threats on the horizon, Israelis feel more secure today than ever before its their modern State’s existence.
    .
Given the fact that the major End Times prophecies of Ezekiel 36 and 37 have essentially come true in our lifetime, does this mean that we will see Ezekiel 38 and 39 come true in our lifetime as well? To me, it is too soon to say so definitively. Certainly we are seeing geopolitical events unfold in recent decades and in recent years that are strikingly consistent with what the Bible describes as preparations essential for the “War of Gog and Magog.” So we should be ready. We should be prepared — not caught off guard — if events accelerate in the near future. But we must also remember that the Lord in His sovereignty could also decide to delay events for quite some time for His own purposes.
    .
That said, it should be noted that when the Russian dictator finishes building his military coalition in Israel and begins to move his forces to surround Israel in the “last days,” Ezekiel gives us no indication that any country will come to Israel’s defense. There are not indications that the United Nations, or the European Union, or NATO will defend Israel. Nor is there any indication that the United States will defend Israel. Rather, Israel will be — and will feel — all alone in the world.

Next, I will describe what the Bible tells us will happen to the forces of Gog and Magog.
1938  Other / Off-topic / Re: focus st vs mazda speed3 vs hyundai veloster which to buy? on: July 30, 2014, 04:06:51 PM
Best overall car is the focus st and its not even close .I've thoroughly enjoyed racing mine, day cruises, people carrying, etc. It's just fantastic fun and unmatched performance for 20k .
Yeah i loved the speed3 and focus st but i can't make up my mind. The focus seemed to have a little less raw power but seemed to
have better suspension torque control and larger power band just more refined maybethe mazda just has more whack ya in the balls punch bu5 a narrow band of power and torque steer like a mother Fuckers compared to focus just my opinion and my opinion doesn't mean much cause i admit to knowing nothing about these front wheel drive turbo cars .
Odd. The MS3 has a limited-slip diff, but I suppose it's possible the friction elements in the diff still need to wear-in a bit before they'll really grip properly and control torque-steer under hard acceleration. It apparently uses an older style of LSD than the Focus does.

Anyway, here's an article addressing your dilemma: http://www.autoguide.com/car-compari...eed3-2621.html

Overall, it sounds like the MS3 is made with older drivetrain tech that doesn't save you from your own foolishness as effectively, but is also less likely to stop working suddenly because of a sensor malfunction. As for the understeer the article complains about, you can probably fix that by just getting better tires. Mazda always cheaps-out on their stock tires; I call them training wheels, because they let you experience how the car handles at the limit of its traction while you're still going at a slow enough speed that you won't kill yourself.
1939  Other / Off-topic / Re: Observations on prayers and miracles? on: July 30, 2014, 03:40:20 PM
If I may clear something up one last time.  Nearly any explanation, including advanced people from another race travelling here in UFOs and reconstructing a dead guy, is a more likely explanation than a supernatural magical being.  You call my explanation 'science".  I call it..anti-magic man.  Its not just science that is more likely than a magic man.  Everything is more likely than a magic man.  This does not mean a magic man does not exist, its just that everything else is more likely.

Is this FINALLY clear enough for you ,zolace?  Now that it has been cleared up for your very slow and dull-witted mind, what do you plan to do with this new information?
1940  Other / Off-topic / Re: Observations on prayers and miracles? on: July 30, 2014, 03:33:38 PM
Sigh.  No.   I repeat for the 12th time.      I have said it remains more logical to believe a miracle of modern medicine or cloning than to believe a magical god did it.  I also said there are fantastical things that I could imagine that would make me consider supernatural.  However, pondering nonsense that has never occurred is a COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME.

Now before you ever respond to me in this thread again I want you to repost what I said above and indicate you understand that is my position.

Can you do that?

I guess zolace is going to be like a rat terrier and rag this stupid thing until someone pays attention to him, and I don't think I'm doing anyone any favors by paying attention to him, but.....

What you are basically describing in the above is a situation that is impossible. But for the sake of argument let's say it happened...

Great! You have a fine example of the supernatural.  That's all well & good, but it is not proof of your "creator".  While 'divine intervention may be supernatural, the supernatural is not proof of divine intervention.  It doesn't make your fairy tales true.
zolace is now adding details of limbs flying across the ground and reattaching before our very eyes.  You couldn't butcher intent any more if you tried zolace.  You can imagine all the supernatural what-ifs you like but several things are true.

1)  The "what-ifs" have never occurred.  There is no evidence of any "what-if" any of us have mentioned.
2)  If the "what-if's" did occur, they are no more evidence of your god as they are evidence of aliens (which is also a more mathematically plausible explanation than a supreme being).

Given these two truths......what is your point?
