1941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: IS IT SAFE TO INVEST PENSION FUNDS IN BITCOIN? on: April 30, 2023, 11:23:40 PM
Why not? The question is - how profitable is it? This is a completely different question that requires analysis and a different answer.
It's because a pension fund is entirely for someone's need and it needs to be used properly. We all advocate investing in Bitcoin but if that person is all that he's got.

As for security, I don't think there are big problems.
At some point if someone can attain to invest 1 month worth of his pension into bitcoin and it shouldn't be a problem at all, then why we shouldn't worry, right?
1942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: April 30, 2023, 10:43:29 PM
Quote
If only those independent teams are willing to spend big money, they can also compete with SMC and MVP teams.

The problem with independent team, they are not willing to risk as they know that player who will show up and play inside PBA will always seek for either SMC and MVP, reality or being practical just move overseas and earned decently.
That's true, it's like the goal of each player to play on those teams and have their retirement from there. Because they've seen the lives of the former players that have taken retirement from those teams and they've got some great recognition and not just that, they've also given livelihood based from those companies where they've retired. They're such a good team to retire with and that's what everybody is aiming and That's why if there are a few teams that are willing to take risks right now, I can say that it's rain or shine and converge.
By the way guys, the world cup is near, what can you say about our national team having with Italy, Angola, and the Dominican Republic?
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What things do you study while choosing a wallet? on: April 30, 2023, 06:33:43 PM
Hardware wallet is the best IMO and I've used only one of it but I'm already satisfied with its use. It may cost some money but that's just a portion of the amount that you'll be happy to get from using it for a very long time. I don't find that hassle whenever I try to confirm transactions every time I'll do. It's actually a good measure of security from doing so, I don't find myself thinking of it as something to be annoyed with or inconvenient just because it's like that.

It is but there are different bugets for people and they use it as they can
Yes, we've got our budgets for this and that's why someone has to save for him to be able to buy a hardware wallet. It may be hard for some but that's what it's costly.
The protection that it can give to you and to your fund is at its finest and that's why many are suggesting to buy it. Even before, I'm not convinced when people are talking about it.
But when I've given it a try and bought my own hardware wallet, that had made me worry free because I know that it's safe there and there's a need to verify each transaction being done from there.
1944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How is the chance of $PEPE to become the next $SHIB? on: April 30, 2023, 12:02:44 PM
There is this image that's rotating on social media that I've happened to see and just forgotten the link when I scrolled.
But it's a post about someone who's been selling a lot of PEPEs and he's been making a lot of ETH after selling these PEPEs because that's where this guy is converting his PEPE profits. Like one of his trade earned around 40 ETH so calculate on how much is that.
Many of the comments thinking that this is one of the earliest buyers and that's very likely but there are some that says, that it's not an early investor but one of the probable devs who's just dumping all of his PEPEs at many instances.
1945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why new projects on arbitrum gets so much attention ? on: April 30, 2023, 10:45:33 AM
seeing arbitrum, remember that last year's solona was very booming with its NFT, but when solona was sunk, the project carried out by SOL also faded,
I think the new projects are racing to keep up with the current HYpe and fomo of ARB, just my opinion
and I won't be looking for more detailed info about arb because I'm not part of their aiddrop winner
It all sums up that they've been built through hype and that's why it won't be surprising anymore if most of the projects built on ARB and even ARB itself will not perform very well when the bull run comes. Although there's no exception to it and these are just speculations just as how others are speculating about the projects built through ARB has great future. We will never know if they're going to be like but one thing for sure is that, those who have received profit from the arb airdrop really did well and it's an overall success for them thinking that anything related to arb will become successful.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How useful is Bitcoin to the youth? on: April 30, 2023, 09:28:00 AM
Youth are interested in Bitcoin because it's easy to work with if you understand the ntrigrity also it's a way to make money, over time BTC has risen, and with this, the youth may be interested in a way to do business digitally.
We need to talk more about the benefit of Biticion in other to attract more youth because the majority do not know how this coin works.
You search for some threads and the answer are just there and will pop out just after you search. From someone's curiosity, they'll be the one to search for Bitcoin's benefit to them. They're still a youth and they can be the ones to benefit from this and also, they'll be curious to know about the lying technology that it has got. And to take note that it's not just focused on the youth but to everyone and even the working people who has got money to invest in it. Many are remembering way back, years ago when they've heard about Bitcoin but they can't invest yet because they've got no money and when they've grown up after several years and got jobs for themselves, that's when they started investing in it.

1947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of social media channels on: April 29, 2023, 11:58:50 PM
Social media channels are only way where team, let investors know the Update. So obviously investors should up-to-date with those project's social media channels. But i think some project's team should be more careful! Like announcement swap their token and give 2/3 moths max for done the work! Thats sounds like phishing, scramming cause thus they can grab lots of tokens from them who failed to swap within time.
And with social media, many are also being victims of fake airdrops, marketing, and projects. There are scammers that do buy pages that have a lot of followers for them to easily make people think that they're a legitimate project because have followed them.
But little did people know, not all of them are for real as many of them have just bought those pages for them to easily gain traction from their potential investors and they can show that they've got already made a brand themselves. And from there, they can also phish those people that have no idea if they are real or not.
1948  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or investment! What's your take? on: April 29, 2023, 11:27:37 PM
Both trading and investing in Bitcoin as great experiences but as someone who likes more of being an investor, I'd be biased toward it.
I'd be happy to hold it and be an investor in it for a more extended period of time because I see it as more profitable and it's sweat-free.
But, you do you, if you're a trader and you sees more profit through trading it then that's it but you can't deny the fact that holding it has been so very effective to many folks not just from the forum but also outside of it. And everyone can testify how they have been blessed holding bitcoin and selling it even not on the peak.
1949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any advice for invest my first 600$ in altcoins? on: April 29, 2023, 10:56:19 PM
I don't know hook and ID but the other two are still young projects. They can't be determined whether they'll be a good project while you're looking at the current situation that they've got. I guess your basis can be said on how they'll be good if you conduct your own research and what makes you like them based on what their roadmaps are.
We can't make any decisions for young coins, they are too risky to invest even the top coins FTX and Luna which are top coins can also turn into scam coins, so I'm not interested in investing in the young coin category even though many traders have high profits,
Yeah, they're risky. But many investors and traders look at them as if they're good coins that have a future. And it all just sums up about their short-term potential and how they can quickly gain profits from it. No contest to the old ones that have been foolproof but not all of them are.

but on average there are many losses from investing in young coins, so stay focused on investing in Bitcoin and the top altcoins ETH and BNB.
Right, those people that garnered losses investing into young coins, they should have get an idea that they're not all profitable as of the moment and still unknown for the short term as what against to their expectation.
1950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What things do you study while choosing a wallet? on: April 29, 2023, 09:30:02 PM
I've been using crypto for years and tried almost all kinds such as hardware, physical and those that can be created online. Among all these thing, I like my hardware wallet more than others because of its security  it is not too convenient because you need to enter your pin and password every transactions but it is good you can see the number of layers of the security before a transaction can be approve.
1951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any advice for invest my first 600$ in altcoins? on: April 29, 2023, 03:09:00 PM
Hi just new to here. I want to know what are the good altcoins that can be invest and forget until 2026. I'm currently thinking to spend around 600$ for altcoins. Right now I'm holding BNB & ETH only as altcoins. Don't say buy BTC cuz already have nice amount since 2010.
Wow, you've got Bitcoin and in such a nice amount since 2010? I think that you've got the idea of how to choose what projects you think are good enough.

Is it good to invest in HOOk, SUI , ARB or ID altcoins? Since they are new just thought to give a try. Thank you
I don't know hook and ID but the other two are still young projects. They can't be determined whether they'll be a good project while you're looking at the current situation that they've got. I guess your basis can be said on how they'll be good if you conduct your own research and what makes you like them based on what their roadmaps are.
1952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any point to start trading with 20$? on: April 29, 2023, 01:03:42 PM
You invest 20$ as a new trader in crypto world. I fully support you because a lot of people invest huge money without a little knowledge of crypto currencies and they lost their money. But you invest little which is good for you and you would know and learn about crypto as much as possible. After that you would invest more as you wish.
It's a way good start for someone who wants to try the market and see what are potential mistakes and learnings that he can make. While what you've said is true.
There are traders that have no idea and just starting out but they think that starting out with big funds will exempt them from the risk that they'll take just as the new and old traders have.
But there's no exception with that because starting with the little that you can, you'll have no fear of what's ahead as a result and you'll just able to see how it shall go whichever is the effect of your trade.
1953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: April 29, 2023, 11:20:21 AM
I think the golden times for bounties are higher. In 2018 - 2019, I joined a lot of them and some gave me a nice amount indeed but nowadays the prizepools are a lot lower and a lot become scam. There are still some good bounties out there but you need to put some effort in it to do research and find the good ones.
IMHO, the best days of bounties was in 2016 and 2017. Those were the days that have a lot of batches of bounties and they were really crazy. Today still some of them pay well if the project goes beyond its expectation and becomes a success.

You are right. Previously, bounties had fewer participants and higher payouts. But now participants increase in bounties and $500 payment for social media is a day dream. But there are still some bounties like paying $100. Some bounty managers like irfan_pak10, CryptopreneurBrainboss launch big budget bounties. You can expect a $100 payout from these bounties.
It was like a pool of that will be shared by most participants. That's why those successful bounties that has lesser participants got the shared bounty and allocated greatly to those few of them.
1954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losses In Gambling That Still Haunts You Until This Day on: April 29, 2023, 08:43:10 AM
Code:
[li]Date/year :[/li]
[li]Amount or Figure :[/li]
[li]What Game :[/li]
Date/year: Like late 2015 to 2016-2017
Amount or figure: I can't remember exactly but it's like 0.01-0.05 BTC
What game: Dice
I'm sure that many have lost that much in figures in Bitcoin during those years because it wasn't really that high at all. We think that it's okay to lose that much especially when you're just enjoying. But then, each year that passes when Bitcoin possess new ATHs, it's making me remember those days when I was too easy on dice and can lose that much in bitcoin but IIRC it wasn't that much converted in USD but then, computing it today, that's a lot already.

1955  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you cope with Teenagers experiencing Youthful Exuberance? on: April 29, 2023, 07:58:43 AM
I have a neighbor who complained to be of how her teenage child is behaving and how she's so worried he might go astray.

I told her, the child is experiencing  "Youthful exuberance" which is normal for teenagers. This behavior can manifest in different forms, such as high energy levels, risk-taking behavior, and also desire for independence.

I told her one of the most important things she can do is to keep the lines of communication open with her teenage child. Encourage him to talk about his feelings and concerns, and listen to what he has to say without judgment. I notice she was being judgemental about the whole thing.

For those that have teenage children here, how do you cope with them?  Let's learn.
I remember one of the lessons when we were studying about child adolescents and one factor that it said was all about being curious. Yes, these teens are very curious in knowing things and that's where they get too aggressive in knowing more about things that they are interested in.
You suggested the right thing about being more open to communication with her teen because if she's so open about it, whatever her teen is experiencing, it will be said. And that's how they get the attention of the young ones that have high spirits and seeking something new which might be one factor of their future careers or path they'd like to take.
1956  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: DOH Twitter na Hacked, Promoting Fake Crypto Airdrop on: April 29, 2023, 07:26:01 AM
Wondering why most of the government sites are prone to hack like this, ang pagkakatanda ko this is not the first time na nangyare sa isang government agency, and that's why may issue ngayon na compromise ang mga details sa PNP, NBI and other government agencies.

1957  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: April 29, 2023, 06:28:18 AM

Sacramento Kings vs GS Warriors -7 @ 1.91
Memphis Grizzlies vs Los Angeles Lakers -4.5 @ 1.91
1958  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 28, 2023, 11:54:21 PM
IMHO. Yes, because of the requirement that it has got.

The winning amount has 1X wagering requirement

Good catch but it is after you win the price.  Isn't it?  So winning the amount from the prediction, you do not stake anything. Thus, you did not gamble or put a stake that comes from your purse at all.

Withdrawing the winnings is another part where you wager your winning amount.  If we connect it, you still don't wager anything from your purse at all because you did not stake anything in the first place.  You are playing with the host's money, right?  And it will be yours once you meet the requirement.  Well, I partially agree that this action (claiming the prize) is gambling since there is a wagering requirement regardless of whose money it is but the first part which is the prediction contest isn't.  Gambling came after the contest is done.

Good points mate.
Yes, that's after when you finally have won and that's what I'm telling that those that are giving like free bets and free tickets, they're still all considered gambling even if you have nothing to stake with and as to the requirement of getting the prize, you'll be required to at least have 1 wager requirement and it hasn't said any amount on it so basically, that's a heads off and easy requirement that one can simply comply afterwards.
1959  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 28, 2023, 11:17:55 PM
And in opposite when you've got nothing to bet for and it has no value for you but has a value based from the casino that has given that bet freely, it's still can be considered as a gamble.

Tell me is this gambling? Bitcasino.io 🖤 Bitcoin Predictor (April) is back with a twist!

IMHO. Yes, because of the requirement that it has got.

The winning amount has 1X wagering requirement
1960  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: April 28, 2023, 08:58:37 PM
The occasion is indeed gambling , but the bettor ? can we consider them as Gambler in that way when they did not even put a single cent to gamble?
this is  a never ending debate I believe unless will be answered directly by those who are involved and admit if they are gambler or not.
this can be handled by not gambler that only wants to try their luck as it is a freebet.
They can be said to a gambler because in times that they will win with those free bets then that means that they have gambled and they're gamblers.
Having free bets isn't only limited to nongamblers but even those hardcore gamblers, we all want to have free bets if it's possible that we can win some bets and prizes through it.

Gambling can be played in a variety of ways. You see, would it class as work if you are not paid in money? Does it class as a purchase if you decide to pay exchanging something? My take is that it is as long as you put there something that has value, from your own time, reputation and even intangibles... or works of art or anything. Time is money as they say.
And in opposite when you've got nothing to bet for and it has no value for you but has a value based from the casino that has given that bet freely, it's still can be considered as a gamble.
