hmmm.. my r9 390 is at 346-353 using optiminer

using claymore my 390 is only at ~330

290x is at 326-331

using claymore my 290x is only at ~319

my hawaii gpus are on optiminer now..

and it seems my these cards are cooler using optiminer specially my 290x

what is wrong with my 280X?

seems 280x beats rx 480 again? LOL!

What miner do you use?

claymore of course..

this 280x hitting 290 h/s in this two card rig...

my other 280x rigs are only hitting 230 h/s..

maybe the rx 480 and 280x combo does the trick, will observe and experiment more later..

Show us your GPU-Z screen

v10

280x ~230 h/s            a1
390   ~330 h/s            a1
fury   ~385-390 h/s     a2
480   ~275-282 h/s     a2

my 290x is hitting ~319 h/s in v9.3 ......at v10 it is only ~314 h/s at a1 algorithm

question:
how can i set different -a option in a rig with different cards? i want a1 for my 280x and a2 for my 480 in the same rig.
Readme.txt!!!
-a   algoritm selection. Possible values: 0..3. 0 - autodetect. You can also specify values for every card, for example "-a 0,3,1". Default value is "0".

thanks..didn't look at the readme.txt because i always look at the OP.. i guess claymore didn't put it there yet

1967  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: January 03, 2017, 09:55:06 AM
Dear instamine-concerned independent researchers,

I stumbled upon Darkcoin in about April-May of 2014, so I am not quite sure whether I figure among the alleged victims of the legendary "Instamine" which has become a kind of anti-founding-myth of the now called 7th largest crypto called "Dash".

Anyway: we got the message. You think the launch was a horrific scam. I actually did not then and don't think now. It used to really annoy me when respectable members of the crypto community like a few XMR lead community members continued to come into this thread to point at supposed heavy crimes with no apparent victims, since the community itself had long gotten over it. It actually still annoys me, because as a long time believer in monetary competition, I observe that Dash actually is being harmed because many people in the Crypto universe have fallen for the "Instamine Meme" and have a superficial antipathy towards Dash.

On the other hand, I find you guys kind of entertaining and I remain confident in the Dash team to fullfil the goal to make crypto usable for the masses. I still hope Bitcoin will be able to do that as well, but I see Dash as the best current "Hedge" against a BTC failure to scale. The MN voting system is just brilliant compared to BTC and the MN bond like attributes opens it a whole new class of investors.
I just recently bought some masternode shares with Moocowmoo. A tremendous experiences, very easy. I can't have that with BTC.

Anyway, you guys will keep doing your thing, whatever I say.

So happy 2017, yet another year together, dear Instamine Don Quichotes

1969  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU Rig PORN on: December 24, 2016, 01:51:34 PM
i haven't used the 20A breakers in that pic, why? i know the THHN AWG # 12 limits, only plugged 2 pcs 2500 watts rating surge protected extension wires per outlet.....and i'm the only person going inside the mining room...nobody is going inside the room and plug some stuff that will overload the THHN #12 (the surge protected 2500w rating extension wire trips if overloaded btw) Grin

be careful - just because you are not loading >20A on the circuit doesnt mean you dont need a breaker. if the equipment fails/shorts it could draw a lot of amperage (presumably up to the 70A to trip your main breaker) for a few seconds until the wires fail, and a fire could start.

but in a more general sense, i agree with your logic that you are engineering the load distibution based on your custom electrical layout, and its extremely unlikely you would accidentally overload anything (unless theres a component failure)

the 70A breaker still breaks in case of a short...there are breakers that breaks if there is a short and it doesn't need to reach wire overloading limits (even for the 20A wire, wire plugs, psu power cord etc).

@ phil

i think if you could give more space between your cards you can run them all in summer, and with a good ventilation of course

take a look at my spider-man rigs..(there are others that are not spider-man below but they are fewer)

note:
there is also a fan and cards at the other side, didn't fit in picture....it was a fan for exhaust to an open window.

i can install another rig or two just above the window because the air is cooler there (i opened a attic manhole just near it)

great ventilation this - also easy to troubleshoot!

any feedback from your room mate or spouse?

they don't like going inside the room except me (because of heat and noise), so everything is fine...

i sleep at the room beside this one...beside my bed passes the wire (THHN AWG 6) that powers these rigs, where a clamp meter is placed, so i can easily know if a rig is down just by looking at the amps, i check before i sleep or anytime of the day (even if i am laying down the bed the clamp meter is within reach).

take a look at roof ventilation.

here is a video that shows how it works using smoke

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRJh7jqXRQA

note: there are also evap coolers that are installed in the roof.

preparing for summer early would be best..

P.S. good to know i wasn't the only one with messy rigs out here  Cheesy

i think the people behind poloniex are invested in XMR, it was the exchange that gave XMR its break too (there is not even a LTC market). expect other cryptonote coins to be delisted too, poloniex is a big exchange now so expect a lot of low volume coins to be delisted in 2017. i guess that exchange will focus on new innovative and high volume coins from now on.

The first part of this is probably true. Poloniex was first exchange to trade Monero (or Bytecoin or any other cryptonote) besides TheKoziTwo's cryptonote.exchange site, afaik. And it did generate massive volume on the first Monero pump for them, and they have continued to be the dominant exchange for Monero since then, so I wouldn't be surprised if the owner and others are holding more than a couple XMR.

However, they do seem pretty loyal to some older coins which have low volumes, but have been on their exchange since the start or close to it, such as Huntercoin, Vertcoin, Myriadcoin, Quatloo, Noblecoin, Riecoin, and probably a few others. I believe these all have some level of active development, and I'm not sure about Noble or Quatloo, but the rest have some defining feature that makes them unique.

Anyway, I do find it a bit odd that they kicked off the ducknote, which does OK volume and clearly does have some ongoing development, but they let Bytecoin and Boolberry stay. I think BBR has similar volume, but practically no development. And Bytecoin is basically dead with a worse distribution than XDN, but I guess it was the originator, so maybe that's why.

that is what i con't understand. they are keeping bbr, even worse, naut and vox. blatant scams.  even worse XVC! intentionally manipulated by its dev.

i won't be surprised if they are delisted sometime in 2017...just as i am speculating (as i mentioned above), the other coins will have their time.
