1981  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin again 6k$..... on: June 11, 2018, 10:04:53 AM
they are shaking the tree before they suck up all your cheap btc

I would say there is no guarantees here about how low they can drive it before they decide to let it rise naturally again.

Long term holders will do fine
1982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Cardano Price Reach $ 10 in 5 Years? on: June 11, 2018, 10:01:23 AM
in 5 years  when btc is 1 million bucks then ada could perhaps reach that but it will probably be long forgotten by then

better to go for better projects though like

byteball
bitbay
blocknet
1983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: June 11, 2018, 09:45:13 AM
I don't know what he exactly meant, but off course many people are upset about the prise. And the sad thing is that no good news, great features or partnerships, no achievements affect the price any more. Only the real use of the coins or sometimes market manipulation. I am sad too because very soon I will have to sell most if not all of my bays just to pay for some things. I'm hoping for a miracle as bay pump or the growing of all alts. I don't believe that people will start using bays in too or three weeks. Well, at least I bought my bays at 60 sat years ago  Grin

Yeah well unfortunately the markets are being dragged around by Bitcoin and potential manipulations.  I don't think we will see the end of it however the peg is almost coded. However brokering the right exchange relationship is still a challenge after it's completion and testing.

The futures markets were definitely a double edged sword..

Bay deserves to be doing so much better though anyway in relation to other alts.

Do you think it may be best to keep the peg until after we hit a much larger cap and volume so exchanges are motivated to incorp whatever extra software the peg requires. I fear it bittrex or upbit gives us the boot it will be super bad news

Perhaps better to try to get on the tps hype train and end up with an eos or ada cap and volume first then flip the peg on.

1984  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC WILL Go 5K . on: June 10, 2018, 06:58:56 PM
can't wait - love these crystal balls for noobs with zero merit. No need for any corroborating analysis when you have one of those.

but good news none the less
1985  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin under 7000$ because of exchanger hacked on: June 10, 2018, 06:30:31 PM
this is just a small exchange and nothing much to worry about i really would not have thought 40M could reduce btc that much but still may contribute to this fall back

dont worry decentralised exchanges like blocknet and komodo are almost done
1986  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: McDonalds has the same market cap as Bitcoin! on: June 10, 2018, 03:28:47 PM
Bitcoin is a baby in a big world!
Bitcoin is not as big as people think!

yup plenty of room for growth .

1987  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 95,000 Bitcoin transferred to an exchange! on: June 09, 2018, 02:54:07 PM
Another round of rumors and a lot of users taking the bait.

So, for the sake of the conversation,

1)  let's agree this is a whale, and it's not a stash from huobi itself.
2)  this whale, has bought coins during the period when the price was at 7000-9 000, especially from huobi as the coin tracks are clear
3)  as usual whales have this tendency of buying high and selling low, this is how people with a lot of coins make money, buy buying high and selling low, /sarcasm off

ya.. I will reduce the price few hundred dollars.  Looking at current volume of BTC in 24 hours, it is over 4 billion dollars that is 533k BTC.  95k BTC will worth around 720 million dollars.  So, I think if they sell it gradually and not at all once, market will digest it but again guys it will give us the opportunity to buy in little discount rate.

If you drop right now 1200 BTC on huobi the price will go below 7000.
Stop comparing the quantity sold with the volume, you can create 1 trillion in volume by swapping the same 1 BTC a trillion times.

Yes, it is like living next to a volcano!
The Whales run the show!

Nice to get huge dumps without them the opportunities would be far smaller for the little guys around here

Go ahead whales dump it back to 5k and below

the btc train won't stop its the only real show in town

the alts that are not vulnerable as illegal securities (actually and those that are) have not solved any of the so called flaws of btc they have just reduced the decentralised trustless nature

there are a handful of specialised purpose alts who are flying under the radar that could have long term returns better than holding btc

other than that stop fretting guys these huge dumps if and when they come are opportunities

nobody wants or needs centralised gov or corp projects - we need a global decentrallised trustlest currency or unit of wealth that is easily exchangeable transportable etc etc  btc or btc with LN goes along way to give us exactly what we need.
1988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huobi's HADAX might be the next popular exchange on: June 08, 2018, 10:09:01 PM
Well, with some news I read about the Huobi building of blockchain is a great one which would really boost the exchange. The only thing I observed is many people of the community prefer Dex to every other exchange .

why would anyone not prefer a dex??

why would a community obsessed by decentralisation suddenly prefer a centralised exchange
?
1989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the predictions on the coin PPT? on: June 08, 2018, 10:07:00 PM
certain and utter obliteration
1990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Huobi's HADAX might be the next popular exchange on: June 08, 2018, 09:46:05 PM
dex are the next big exchanges and rightly so

there is no decentralised trustless end to end arena with centralised exchanges
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is the Spirit folks, this is how you will get bitcoin killed on: June 08, 2018, 05:28:54 PM
there is sadly no getting away from it no coiners (if they have never owned cc and had at any point a few hundred bucks spare to invest after essentials) are almost complete losers for missing out on the best opportunity in the last 20 years or perhaps of their lifetime.

Although this is nothing to laugh at at all.

However they can remedy this still since we are not yet seeing such adoption that rags to riches is no longer possible over night.

Simply find the best projects that are still way undervalue - buy and hold.

Bitcoin will not be killed. TPTB want bitcoin now.
1992  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ALTS are the NEXT BIG THING? Add your Valid suggestion here now >>>>> POLL on: June 08, 2018, 05:24:08 PM
we still search for more meeting the criteria in the OP
1993  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay OFFICIAL BITBAY Thread Smart Contracts Decentralized Markets Rolling Peg on: June 08, 2018, 12:08:36 AM
holy crap still alive? lol....wow.

sad.

You afraid of us? Working decentralized markets, all templates done, peg almost done as promised.

Unless people have criticism that has some weight ie brings some observable events worthy of criticism their comments mean nothing.

Bitbay is way way way ahead of other projects of our market cap and really is equal to those in the top 20 .........let's face it MOST of the top 100 caps are bullshit fake inflated caps that would implode like a rotting pumpkin if someone tried to cash out any significant %

I think people think pos3 is old hat now (even though it may be a very strong design) they are all about high tps bullshit blockchain 3.0 (most of which just look like very centralised solutions).

Yeah high every high tps I've seen is centralized or even worse closed source and vaporware. People throw around names like Hashgraph without actually checking if there is a working model or considering security design. But okay it's possible to increase transaction load if some of the major concerns are met. My concept was simply pruning the chain and benchmarking nodes with a reputation system.

By the way cryptohunter you will be happy to know I'm coding the peg now and talked to Munti and we are strongly considering 2% interest if someone voluntarily freezes liquid coins and 1% for reserve coins and .25% for liquid but give liquid 3x voting power. We think this will incentivize frozen holders to
not push the economy around to unfreeze without buying some liquid and in exchange they get higher interest. These numbers aren't exact yet but it seemed like something you would like. I know you like models that encourage hoarding.

Btw, ignore Piston he is a shill I remember the name from the old days.

Exactly David. Yes, the concept of pruning and benchmarking nodes with rep system sounds excellent and effective.

Great news on the peg and for sure I do like to see incentives for investors to hold strong rather than attempting to churn constantly to increase their holdings.  I like the idea of the more you lock down and the longer you lock them down for the more interest you get. For example it would be great (although perhaps crazy complex to implement) like you have a filed where you enter how many coins you will freeze and a field for duration of freezing then it shows you the interest you will get for that entire period then you hit confirm a couple of times and its done. Although I know when the layman announces such great plans the real coder and real designer sighs and thinks to himself if only these things were possible or even plausible Smiley  so yeah anything to give extra incentive to hold or lock up is great news david Smiley

can't wait.

Could you give just a brief (not detailed enough for copy cats to start getting ideas) outline of how the benchmarking and rep system of nodes could work. I'm guessing their hardware is given a stress test and they get a score and those with the fastest hardware would be the primary nodes. So  a bit like dpos but not down to 12 nodes like some super centralised systems.  The rep system is automated? according to downtime and other misbehaving factors? and will pass processing to the next most powerful nodes if more powerful nodes rep gets too low?  do you think this along with a pruning option would enable bitbay to challenge these so called 3.0 projects with tps?  also how long would something like that take to fully design, test and complete for bitbay?

It would seem to be after that bitbay would have everything it would need to score higher or as highly as nearly every single project on this board in all important areas except perhaps anon which tbh is already coming under some pressure in several countries so it could almost be better to watch how that goes before even considering adding that.

If we had such a design already planned out and on the road map I would expect we can expect to grab a bit of the tps hype before pegging. Would be good to have 1.5k -3k sats before the peg is activated.
1994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 07, 2018, 09:40:37 AM
Byteball should also be listed as Mbyte and NOT Gbyte, Gybte distorts buyers who think its exppensive and cant do the conversion, byteball is actually very cheap and great value!!
not really, Gbyte is better enough even though you hold in Mbyte fractions anyway you can also trade and make a deposit on trading, so there is no problem to keep using Gbyte

wrong

I have demonstrated with numerous examples that we are alienating many noobs with gbyte units

mbyte is the way to go and even full rebrand could be useful in future

full distribution and a making the tech more decentralised could be useful

the calm before the storm.... or so I'm hoping Smiley

no comments here for nearly 2 weeks.... how are things moving along?

Hey Cryptohunter, nice of you to drop in; seems the daily chat action has moved to our CBX Telegram channel, which is more practical for casual discussions.

So yeah, we are still working on pre-masternode Vault version 3.0.0, possibly ready for Monday the 11th of June.

Thanks for the update; great news to hear just a 6 more days until version 3.0.0  Smiley

I know it is tempting to leave the board for other more convenient modes of communication but really a good presence on bct should never be underestimated.

1997  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is your favorite source of information about cryptocurrency news ? on: June 05, 2018, 06:05:02 PM
this forum of course but it has been greatly polluted since 2016 with a lot of shit to sift through to find real gems
1998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon Will Accept Bitcoin Speculation on: June 05, 2018, 06:00:02 PM
as we know amazon ceo is a firm lover of btc and LN

I'm sure he will add it

1. when he has stocked up on enough btc
2. when the btc are in firmer hands and it is less volitile
1999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin to be over $5000 in 2018? on: June 05, 2018, 05:47:03 PM
1000 is more likely in the near future once people rush back to pow coins after the sec takes out the ico schemes 1 by 1

they are all listed there on coinmarketcrap they wont miss any that sold illegal securities .... uncle sam has a long memory
