2501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2023, 04:47:53 PM
NBA Central is reporting that Apple Computers may be in talks to purchase ESPN. This would give them rights to pretty much every sport and make AppleTV a sporting powerhouse. Given the ties between Apple and Disney, I’m surprised we don’t see Apple buy the entire company, but ESPN is a good start. Sports are about to takeover Apple products.
2502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2023, 04:06:14 PM
Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting this morning that the NBA is launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding James Harden’s claim that Daryl Morey is a liar and got him to sign a contract under false pretenses. The drama takes another step forward. I’m not sure what the NBA can do though. Maybe nullify the contract?
2503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: August 19, 2023, 06:55:24 AM
~snip~
With the new Georgia indictment, it's looking like it will be an electoral disaster for Trump. Brian Kemp, Georgia Governor, is at a odds with Trump and Kemp won his reelection in 2022 by solid margins, and he beat a Trump backed Republican who tried to primary Kemp.

Having read the indictment, I'm doubtful there exist evidence that would convict Trump of the charges beyond any reasonable doubt (the standard for American criminal trials). Of course that doesn't matter. It's meant to interfere with the election, the radical Fulton county DA has made sure of this. The charges would be more appropriate on the federal level anyways.

Say Trump gets convicted in Georgia state court, he wouldn't even be able to pardon himself on the federal level for state charges if he were to win. The Georgia governor wouldn't be able to pardon him either. A panel in Georgia would have to decide that.

The US allows for a president to be elected from jail.

And that might be exactly what we might see in this coming election.

Reality is getting stranger by the year.

Also, the US is such a divided country at the moment, it could go either way.

While I don’t think that Trump will go to jail, I’ll admit I am fascinated by the possibility that a candidate for President could run and possibly be elected while serving time in jail. That would be a historic event and a sign of the times I guess. I think more then ever people want to see a President clean house and attempt to fight against the corrupt alphabet boys.
2504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumors spread that SBF is tied to the $BALD rugpull on: August 19, 2023, 06:46:44 AM
I was just reading about this story. I’m not sure if I believe it. I haven’t seen any evidence but I can’t say I’ve really looked. I’ve only seen people saying they suspect it might have been him. Other than the timing of it being possible, is there anything else that could tie him to this? Is this part of why his bail was revoked?
2505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 WNBA Discussion and Betting on: August 19, 2023, 04:20:26 AM
I’ve only placed one bet on WNBA games in my life but one thing I did notice when looking at available games was that the odds seemed to always favor one team heavily. That appears to still be the case. I guess the WNBA is a little more lopsided than the NBA? I didn’t get crazy and bet on the favorite in order to get my win.
2506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why is Nicehash KYC all of a sudden on: August 19, 2023, 04:16:59 AM
NiceHash offers lots of different services. It sounds like that’s where the confusion is coming from. As far as I’m aware, to mine alts and get paid out in BTC nothing has changed. No KYC is necessary. However, if you are using their services like buying/selling hashrate or buying/selling cryptocurrency, then KYC may be necessary.
2507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What are your thoughts on Proof of Useful Work (PoUW)? on: August 19, 2023, 04:12:54 AM
I’m not familiar with PoUW but it seems like the obvious next step. I’ve always thought that one day mining would be used for something beneficial. Artificial Intelligence seems like an obvious match. Especially given the similar needs with GPU clusters. Seems like a perfect match. Whoever figures out how to do that will be a wealthy man.
2508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What they used before Blockchain Explorer? on: August 19, 2023, 04:08:19 AM
Before the first block explorer was developed, Bitcoin community consisted almost entirely of highly skilled enthusiast who could analyse the raw data without BE. e.g. they could spot and fix anomalies like this one.

(...) Well, if that's true then how it is possible for people to trust on BTC at start (...)

Bitcoin was (almost) worthless at that time so it's hard to talk about any trust. We're talking about times when anyone could get 5 btc from the faucet and many didn't even bother to claim that.

I was surprised by the amount of seemingly experts that posted on the forums back when I joined. I can only imagine the years before that. The forum atmosphere has changed a lot over the years as the Bitcoin price increased and the focus became less about technology providing freedom and more about number go up.
2509  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: August 19, 2023, 02:55:34 AM
Thanks for the update!.I dont know nothing abuot it.

One thing i noticed seeing your  pic its, the tyre its not so thick, seems more like a regular one with more rubber.

When its gonna be your Tesla droped? or you dont have a date to receive the car/truck?

I haven’t received any news whatsoever about my order. I occasionally check to make sure my preorder is still there. I’m not expecting it anytime soon though. Last I checked I was like preorder #400,000 and I think they’re making about 10 per day right now, so it’ll be a while. Best case scenario in my opinion would be next summer and a more realistic guess would be next Christmas. I’m counting on having it by midway through 2025.
2510  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: August 19, 2023, 01:21:47 AM
I don't what to speculate but it should be around the money I guess. Maybe he was promised to have a good money this season. But the owner turn his back on Harden.
Words are very powerful, and they should be honored. If James Harden is promised good money without conditions, then he is due for that. However, sometimes these businessmen are very clever; they tend to use their power to influence a player's decision but ultimately may not stand by their words. Nowadays, the system has already changed, as players can make demands. In the case of James Harden, being a superstar, I'm pretty sure he knows what he's doing. He understands that he won't lose his job, even if the 76ers decide to trade him, which they have refused to do until now.

Might be but as we all know, owners will have to make promises, and players should take that as a grain of salt. I remember the Jordan Poole trade, Poole said that he was assured that he will not be traded by Dunleavy Jr. But in the next 12 hours, he was traded to the Wizards.

So that is a lesson that there is no absolute word in the NBA, it's business, the owner or the president of basketball for operations of a team will have to make the hard decision. And with that, Harden might be hurt by the promises and so he wanted to leave.

Players end up thinking they run too much in the NBA.  They've been given too much control of the process.  Theor job is to play basketball, it's the business side of the team to position the players how they see fit.  When players sign a contract for millions of dollars the owner can do whatever he wants with that player from there.  Ypu always here players surprised and say that it's a business in the end.  For these teams yeah it is lol.

This is definitely a problem that’s getting worse. The players sort of have the owners over a barrel because owners don’t want to seem like they don’t have their players’ backs. Otherwise they won’t be able to get any free agents to go there. What’s happening now in Philly is probably going to keep players from signing there in the future.
2511  Economy / Speculation / Re: what a surprise dip on: August 19, 2023, 01:19:02 AM
The rumor I keep seeing being repeated online is that Binance is trying to keep BNB above $210 to avoid liquidations on a large loan. So Binance is being forced to sell off their Bitcoin in order to purchase BNB and defend their loan’s collateral. No idea if that is true or not but it seems logical. After what happened to FTX, I’ve been waiting for Binance to go under. It seemed like they were playing the same game, Binance just moved earlier.
2512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: August 18, 2023, 07:11:02 PM
I wouldn't be surprised if boxers and fighters all over the world will release some statements to somehow condemn the fight between Zuckerberg and Musk because they have every right to do it as it wasn't easy for them to achieve what they have and then there are this billionaires who can just make it happen with just one snap of their fingers.
On the other hand, they should also understand by now that life is truly unfair and that is the reality we're living in, it's either digest it or fight with that same right but in the end, you will not get to where you want because just as mentioned, life is unfair.

This fight is just an exhibition match which means that it has no value for professional records. Anyone can fight on ring or octagon by just paying the fee. Influencer like Jake Paul and others manage to fight pro on an exhibition match while the two billionaires is just fighting for each other without representing any sports.

It’s like a fight to settle disagreement. It’s absurd to make a negative opinion about this match just because you are professional on that specific sports because sports is for everyone. Only the professional records should be their concern which is not the case on this fight.

You make good points about it not being a professional fight and instead a personal beef, which I think fighters don’t mind seeing.  They probably love it. Also, given the low fighter pay and Musk/Zuckerberg being billionaires, fighters aren’t lining up to condemn this fight, they’re lining up to try and get paid for their expertise as coaches or training partners.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could stable coins save a deprecating economy on: August 18, 2023, 07:08:18 PM
Stablecoins won’t help traditional economies. You have to remember the dollar is being abandoned as the world’s reserve currency due to the US amassing debt with money printing and currency devaluation set in place for decades. People don’t want more access to dollars, they want money free from government manipulation and debts.
2514  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SpaceX sold $373M worth Bitcoin, reason of current dump on: August 18, 2023, 07:05:26 PM
OMG why are you repeating this stupid "news"?

If SpaceX sold, the reports of it happening were made public a whole day before bitcoin crashed 10%, so it wasn't the cause of the dump but the FUD and articles from various sources repeating this FUD without thinking were probably the cause of the crash.

Now think about it for a moment. Someone spreads rumors about Musk dumping, so traders short bitcoin and create panic. Every dumped bitcoin does not disappear - it is bought by someone. It's just that there's not enough standing orders to fill so the price goes down. There are people who want this to happen and buy cheaper. Have you ever thought that people buying bitcoin at 26k are people who had something to do with spreading this rumor?

Hold your coins, they know the ETF is coming and so is the halving and they want to make you give it away cheap.

It does appear that the dump happened a while ago. You bring up some good questions. Wasn’t SpaceX using Coinbase for their BTC purchases and sales? If so, wouldn’t Coinbase then be aware when the filings would happen that made the news public? This may not seem like a big deal, but it was also just reported that Coinbase has taken large short positions given their new futures approval. Maybe the drop was Coinbase profiting from their shorts and then pulling their bids to let the market crash for their own profit. Timing seems reasonable.
2515  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is a senile, old Bitch on: August 18, 2023, 06:36:58 PM
So they’re saying that Joe Biden’s fake name he uses to hide his ill gotten gains is Robert L Peters… I’m actually shocked as this is almost too comical to be true. Who picked that name for him, his son? They’re saying it’s long for Bob Lil Peters, which considering all the pedophile accusations seems almost unbelievable. Real life is stranger than fiction.
2516  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 18, 2023, 06:32:03 PM
No rebound.

No demand.

People still selling.

Weekend slum.

Economic turmoil.

Start kissing whales asses boy's for a FAKE PUMP ore it will tank towards $20k.

Paashaas, was your account stolen or was it sold? Tongue

$25k was absolutely in the cards, as far as i have read from my favorite (X-)twatter analysts, but they also laid out a post-dip bull scenario.
I'm so not surprised, but time to buy, innit?

In real life regards, poor wifey suffered a cruciate ligament rupture, so i have to take care of the horses for at least a couple of weeks.
Yay!  Roll Eyes

For all we know $0 could be in the cards. It is a speculative asset after all. I personally think this is probably the last or second to last dip we’ll see before the price explosion as the halving gets priced in. Anything could happen though. My advice would be to hold onto your BTC though. I think the coming test will be a hard one, but faith should be rewarded.
2517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Adam Back's Bullish Bet on: August 17, 2023, 10:46:20 PM
Starting to seem like Adam Back is trying to join his buddy Samson Mow in becoming a top indicator. My advice, whenever you see a Blockstream employee give you trading advice on Bitcoin, do the opposite.  Remember the “Bitcoin is going up forever” podcast at the peak of the last hype cycle? Take notes for when you need to find an indicator.
2518  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2023, 10:36:38 PM
Somewhat older te-post

Only fools are selling now….  Roll Eyes

Elon idiot‘s sh*tX sold BTC….

Please confirm the FUD you're being fed before you start spreading it to a larger audience Wink

It’s being reported that SpaceX sold all their Bitcoin. They held $373,000,000 worth according to Bitcoin Magazine. I’m not sure what this signals. SpaceX doesn’t really have a need to save funds right now as they’re massively growing so the move makes sense. It could also be Elon opening the door for Tesla to start accepting BTC. However, the downward pressure was enough to apparently set off this wave of liquidations we’re currently seeing.
2519  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2023, 09:51:28 PM
Well there is an almighty push down right now. just went below 25K.
Have we capitulated yet?

I haven’t seen the volume numbers yet but it sure feels like capitulation. I think the current market along with the government’s actions to force a recession have taken their toll. Maybe Michael Burry’s bet scared traders into short positions or cash. This was somewhat expected though. Things are going to be choppy from now until the mtgox BTC is distributed and the spot ETFs get approved.
2520  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: August 17, 2023, 09:31:31 PM
If you’ve been anywhere near social media this week you’ve no doubt seen plenty of images of Cybertrucks being shipped around the country. It looks like crash testing and review models going to as well as some being produced for employees. The retail customer isn’t far off. It seems like nothing will stop this beast from hitting customers this year.
