You can read all about BFL at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150803.0 (or read the court documents you can find under the link in my sig.) If you want to choose a trustworthy supplyer in the future look in this forum for several "trustworthiness/suppliers" guides in these forums before ordering... Unfortunately that BFL thread is really, really useless now. There are literally 100s of pages of hurr durr in there and that thread probably consists of most of GG's posts as the moderators saw it as unmoderatable.

So you are going to chalk this up to algae, when I have 5 other C1's with running with no problems at all. Then especially hearing from another person having the same problem right after my post indicates there may be some issue. And the coolant that's in there now is only 2 days old. I completely dumped all the old coolant when I switched my hose/pump. And that was only 2 days old. There is a problem with this miner. Algae is just a quick excuse to blame it on something we don't know about yet.
I was explaining the symptoms, I never said it was your fault or anyone elses. Anyway, the buildup of gas you demonstrated in the video is due photosynthesis. How long ago did you purchase?

Those are hot temps.
From what I understand the temperature sensors are on the opposite side of the board than the asic chips. Since he is using water blocks to cool the chips, he won't get an accurate reading on temperature. The heat is pulled away from the chips more efficiently with the water block than with the air cooling heat sink. That doesn't really make sense. A water block or an 'air block' would make no difference to how the temperature probe reads in relationship to the actual.

Hi!
I ordered replacement control board for S3+ with cables to be send together with my S5. Just got the board. Is there a EU suppler where I can find the cables? What do I need to put to google to find this cable?
Thanks
I've sent a message to engineers, but we won't hear until tomorrow now as its 8pm.

0,7 watt/Gh is not good unless you had free power. I wonder if you able to downclock the miner & see the efficiency.
He's on an EVGA 1300 (helped him set it up). Its probably losing some efficiency being down at 40% loading as he's getting the same power draw on his 4.1 as I am on my 4.0. And 4.0 comes with slightly better DC/DC and automatic voltage control. Its not as advanced as Spondoolies' which varies speed and voltage, but it does keep minimising the voltage to find what is the absolute minimum you can get away with while remaining stable, for a given speed.

When is the last sale made from bitfury to the general public?
About 6 weeks ago last I checked Bitfury sold gear 6 weeks ago? Where? To who? A retail consumer/small miner? I'm not being facetious, I would like to know. Openly on the market. You can [could] drop them a message and find out their MOQ and hardware very openly.

1) The SP10, SP30, SP31, SP35 aare all indstrial non consumer miners, so I'm not sure how you can say that. Even the SP20 is barely considerable as a consumer unit as it has to be underclocked to 60-75% to be usable in the home.
Pardon ? I have three SP20's running in my home at full speed. In North America on 120V residential circuits. Many others do as well. Dude, what's wrong with you ? You know better than this. The fact that Bitfury is number 1 as they no longer sell to customers the average forum-reader, and Avalon is number 2 considering their history, I'm calling shenanigans on your entire asinine list. It should be Spondoolies #1, Bitmain #2, and whatever way you want to rate the others that follow. Just because they're IN a house doesn't mean they're residential miners. I was pointing out the irony that someone wanted Bitfury removed because its not a 'consumer' miner, yet the person suggesting it was selling only non' consumer' miners.

Presumably PSU efficiency will be higher for higher incoming voltages.
Surprisingly, not by that much. You might see 1-3% for 230 over 115V which I think is a testament of how well developed the tech has become.

This has gotten a bit out of hand. All our bid(s) will expire 11/28 at 11:59 pm EST if the auction is not ended by then.
From what I can tell advertising via signature campaigns are more cost efficient then advertising via forum banner ads. Although you would probably need to put some additional level of effort into it. It looks like you are offering to pay 3.95 BTC for one 7 day slot. This works out to ~15 BTC per month for one slot. Compare that to the bit-x signature campaign - they are spending ~7 BTC per month on signature advertising and they have the ability to better target where their ads are displayed How so? You can only count posts in certain sections of the forum, you can give additional credit for posting in certain sections of the forum. You can select participants based on their posting history (including where they primarily post). With forum advertising you need to advertise your banner throughout the entire forum. My ads are similarly targeted to hardware on a smaller scale, link in Sig.

Heat causes the liquid to expand causing the pressure. These pumps can't handle the pressure, that's why I believe mine failed.
Not in this case, he said he preheated the coolant before closing it. Ok, please watch this youtube video I made of my pump spewing out the coolant only after one night. This was with the fill hole closed of course. If the fill hole was open, there would be no way for the pressure to build up. http://youtu.be/15kbEGTvnqEI'm not sure this place allows videos to be embedded into the post, I doubt it, but here it is. It is 720P, so it is hi-def if you want to change it while watching. Can anyone explain how all that pressure gets in the system? And the green under the miner itself is from a leak somewhere, which I think is from the aluminum block and that in itself is sucking in air when the fill hole is closed. I have to get this fixed. Bitmainwarranty, I'm going to need somekind of RMA for this. This shouldn't happen. http://youtu.be/15kbEGTvnqEEDIT: The green coolant leak that's right in front of the miner ( as you can see it is green ) only happens when the fill cap it fully closed. If the fill cap is open, nothing leaks out and the paper towel stays white. So because you're coolant level returns after you open it, its NOT expansion, and as far as we know its NOT a leak. What you have going on there is the algae or whatever it is producing gas. That's why you're getting bubbles accumulating and that's why you're getting the pressure build up. Edit: I agree with your assertation that the 'leak' on the miner is a by product of the excess pressure rather than a leak leak per se.

I don't see how the list help a consumer miner make an informed choice. For some reason Dogie decided to tweak the scoring. He punishes us for taking pre-orders on the 2nd gen, which isn't relevant for the last 3 months.
1) The SP10, SP30, SP31, SP35 are all industrial non consumer miners, so I'm not sure how you can say that. Even the SP20 is barely considerable as a consumer unit as it has to be underclocked to 60-75% to be usable in the home. 2) The scoring has not been tweaked in months and months and months. What I did in the last round was add more description to the criteria so you would stop complaining that somehow they all worked against your company individually. 3) You're 1st gen was entirely preorders, entirely. You're second gen was funded on preorders, which failed to meet their preordered specifications twice. We are still in the second gen. As described in detail, when you announce you're 3rd generation selling out of hand then it can be changed but for now your company relies entirely on the preorder model.

Let's not derail from the main subject. Why are you favoring old and outdated ratings instead of adjusting them to reflect reality?
Read the changelog.

When is the last sale made from bitfury to the general public?
About 6 weeks ago last I checked Same question for Canann Creative ?
Permanently, longer than SP. I may think it should be 92 sp-tech then 84 or 82 bitmaintech then 80 or 78 asicminer. then avalon for 76-78
You can't just make up total numbers, if you're going to suggest scores then do it on a category by category basis on each company. I like dogie in general he has listed lots of gear over the years with different photos and good info so people trust his opinion. This thread is just a bit out of date for a home miner.
If you want a home miner's list then it wouldn't include SP.... their miners are specifically targeted for the industrial user, every single model has been astoundingly loud at stock and the majority of their trade is with industrial customers. So... we'd be left with CC and BM as the main people. Even AM design industrial miners now, which individual users can purchase.

I agreed to do this because I was allowed to add my own questions. I choose to keep the companies name out of this.
Unfortunately you've not been told the whole story - there is a very, very specific agenda these polls are being used for hence the homefield questions. And unfortunately that agenda and the way its being played out is incredibly shady. But of course that's not something I am able / willing to reveal. What I'm trying to say is the thing which this industry needs the most is transparency, and the events that have transpired today are anything but that.

How about: 6a) Which manufacturer pays legendary members who are known to be positive towards their company, to commission and adjudicate polls that are biased towards their company, because they were unhappy with another user's ranking, and then tries to hide that they're actually the company paying for and commissioning them? 6b) Which manufacturer used a preorder model? [can't do this one on the forums, should really be doing this on survey monkey anyway] 6c) Which manufacturer should just be patient and await their perfect '100' score in dogie's rating if they follow through with promises, rather than going through all this and making things worse for themselves? 6d) Which manufacturer should stop trying to drag other's name through the dirt in order to fit a short term agenda, which through the virtue of NDAs can not be discussed, even when the topic / question is directly brought up by themselves?

Enough with this piddly little radiator shiat. I sick and tired of reading how their "little pumps" are failing. Those pumps aren't meant to meet the demand of 24/7 bitcoin mining use. They are made for PC's. I had got my idea from this genius: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=853669.0and here is my setup: this can take up to 10-12 c1's. I've connected only 4 just as a proof of concept. I'm sure some of the Chinese mines are running CRAZY setups. Would you run 12 in parallel, series or a combination?

seems they want to price in BTC but adjust the USD price manually. Not sure why they do tha
You've seen what happens when the price changes once while someone is mentally locked into buying, imagine what would happen if that price kept changing every 2 minutes? this is economics 101, but seems to go over yours and BMT head: stable(r) price entices MORE buyers, unless buying is completely hopeless. yes, you could have 10% fatter margins if you jerk up the price, but you would have 30-50% less customers. Besides, if the price was moved up in response to BTC/$ ratio change, why it did not went down when BTC went from $310 to $250 this am? Answer this, please. That's not what I was talking about.

Just putting this out there, would you not get better efficiency if you run the S5 off 2 PSU's, e.g a 550W for each blade than run the whole rig off a single 750W/850W/1100W PSU?
Depends. Generally within the same product line a 550W running at 50% load will be about as efficient as a 1100W running at the same 50% load. More practically, the 550W units would tend to be easier to find and cheaper, but often the cheap ones you find aren't as efficient or well built as the 1100W units. You then also have another full ATX supply to deal with, and if you have more than a couple of these it gets to be a pain. I actually thing the sweet spot is probably 750-850W. You can get decent well built gold PSUs in that range dirt cheap, running a 750W PSU at 550W (DC) won't really get it into the bad part of it's efficiency curve, and they're still super easy to source. Between 50-85% there is usually low single digit efficiency differences. Not enough to care about really.
