2721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Bitcoin's transparency be its downfall? on: May 30, 2022, 12:31:55 AM
Excuse me, what happened to "Verify, don't trust"?

Bitcoin's transparency is one of the main points of Bitcoin. Which is why it already has something that fiat does not: Transparency. This does not mean no anonymity though. If you wanted to buy or obtain Bitcoins anonymously, you could do so. Easily. So don't doubt Bitcoin too much, as you might miss out on chances because you have started believing your own doubts.

I am in full faith on Bitcoin. Basically because I know how it works and why its unstoppable. Feel free to try to prove Bitcoin wrong.

2722  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Can a poor man get his chance to be rich in Crypto? on: May 29, 2022, 09:41:07 PM
I have always thought of Cryptocurrency to be a middle class and rich class' investment. You can take risks investing $10,000 or $100,000. Hell, even $1,000 can be an investment now and the rich man and the middle class can have that amount to spend. My question is, how about the poor guy? Does he have the opportunity to be able to turn his life around and become rich in crypto? I put this in the serious discussion so at least we can discuss this without promoting any specific coin. I have some struggling friends who I like to help but they have this life where their salary is only enough to feed themselves for the day and they can barely save $100 for other things. Let's be real, will he be able to get the life he wants with crypto? I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Let me reverse your question in order to put it into a different perspective: Can a poor man make the same profit % as the rich man?
2723  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: May 27, 2022, 11:46:23 PM
To some degree it is a bit strange to have this thread that proclaims that El Salvador's bitcoin adoption failed.. which seems to rely upon some mainstream bullshit talking points bashing bitcoin and then another fuller El Salvador thread that pre-existed this thread.. so why two threads?

Sure there have been some decent naysaying points brought up in this thread, yet the responsive posts that provided various reasons why such "failure" conclusion would be immature come off as way more convincing.

I just provided a post of Peter McCormick's second interview with Bukele in the other El Salvador bitcoin thread (here), which I would suggest any of the bitcoin and/or El Salvador naysayers should listen to that interview.

Basically this.

You guys need to stop spreading fud. Its how big Bitcoin investors buy your coins at a cheaper price. Surely that must somehow be clear to everyone with at least Bitcoin Veteran status? I guess the newbies get to learn the hard way, by losing their coins by shaving them away, flip flopping from buy to sell and sell to buy.

Its how I learned so I guess I can't really judge anyone at this point.

Just hodl your coins, our path to 100k has already started.  Roll Eyes

Why are you getting spooked by people who have no idea how Bitcoin works or what its advantages are? I see old generations who barely understand how to use the internet. El Salvador has been doing a crappy job of marketing Bitcoin to its people. Thats all it is. Adoption will be slow but we will see them warm up to Bitcoin. Especially the younger generations.
2724  Other / Meta / Re: [Bitcointalk Party - Discord sv] Bitcoin Pizza bake-off contest! Enter by 29 May on: May 27, 2022, 09:59:07 PM
if a delicious pizza is something you guys want to see I will be making a fermented soft dough pizza with aged irish cheddar as well as some fresh mozarella (homemade). Do you guys know what pizza heaven is? I honestly do not think so! Not yet, anyway.

Give me some time I should upload on the 29th. The dough needs to ferment in the fridge for 2 days at 5 degrees celcius. Its so worth the wait though. Imagine Pizza hut dough but better. And I could infuse some basil into the dough.
2725  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you Smoke? on: May 27, 2022, 08:52:11 PM
What do you think are the long term consequences of smoking Cigg or Weed.

Other than cancer.

I actually read the scientific paper on that. Certain cannabinoids do actually indeed cause cell death (cell apoptosis) in certain cancer tumors like brain tumors (Glioblastoma) but also possibly promote other tumor growth, primarily in testicles. Fair trade, if true? Hard to say.

I vape dry herb Cheesy Not as healthy as breathing fresh mountain air but much healthier alternative than combustion (burning the weed). #paxlife
2726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you saved your bitcoins in multiple wallets? on: May 27, 2022, 02:21:47 PM
I guess you can do that but then the problems start arising when you lose or forget your seed phrases. That's gotta suck. I think 1 wallet is exactly the right number and maybe 1 more if you really need to feel like you would not lose two seed phrases the same way you wouldn't lose three.

You can just encrypt your seed phrase if you really need to and remember the encryption password. If you forget the seed phrase, you might be able to recover it and you would feel that nobody except you can get to the seed phrase on your other stored devices.

But that sounds a bit much, unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of BTC.

Got lots of private trouble lately, i'm still backreading WO, and it's not quite one of the times of high posting frequency.
No trouble with the wife, who is about the only supportive person around.
Looked up my vaccinations and i did get smallpox vaxx as a child, so i'm kinda in "pass on the next pandemic" mode, which is fine.
Spotting some articles lately, all in the likes of "Bitcoin proves its uselessness by dumping" (not pointing out all the shitcoins dumping way moar), so i can easily pass on reading them, too.
And no i didn't sell, so i'm not going to win the "next mindrust" medal  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Life is too short to not laugh enough, guys!

Oh no, hope things start picking up for you soon!

I wish people understood that Altcoin are both adding the largest amounts to each volatile swing of Bitcoin. Bitcoin price volatility has nothing to do with the investment security of Bitcoin in the first place! I rather see it as chances to buy Bitcoin at a lower price, thanks to Altcoin dumps. So you know what, I say thank you very much to Altcoins!

However trusting Altcoins altogether as an investment has to be considered carefully before losing your money. Here is some investment advice for free: Don't lose your money.

I am a university educated physicist and I still fall for random conspiracy's. We're only human.

I am scarred by JJG; He will pop up with millions of words saying it's a WO BTC thread and why do you post shit?

Never heard of her

I am not sure if JayJuanGee is she or he. Have you never heard of JJG?

JJG? Definitely a she. No man would or ever could write entire novels just to complain about another man's almost unnoticable mistakes. But we love her.
2728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some Fiat Financial advisors are such hypocrites when it comes to Bitcoin on: May 26, 2022, 07:17:00 PM
Everyone wants to be an advisor, it would seem that way to me.

Unfortunately a lot people people don't have the know-how that every advisor needs and wants. A lot of them are just pretending to know something about anything and that casts a bad light on the real advisors who do know what they are talking about.

I think a lot of these fiat financial advisors who are hypocrites about Bitcoin are the first kind of advisors. Please do not pay them any attention.

A real financial advisor who understands Bitcoin would definitely be a coiner, themselves.

I doubt your newbie status on Bitcointalk or your 1 community member will convince me to trust this hashlottery of yours without more information or proof of functionality and security. You need to explain the concept better or create a functioning service which proves how fair, reliable and secure it is. Until then you only have an idea of an idea which might or might now work out in reality. Come back when you put a few weeks work into it and have something to show us

Sorry.

Why will anyone from the future want to go through the steps of predicting the right lottery, when he can easily look at the winning ticket before picking it. It does not make sense to me future allows you to know what happens ahead but I don't know how your lottery system works any way I suggest you change that part that mentions the future to just a harsh lottery, and also consider buying a copper member account to post some images.

Well thats the kind of thing science is trying to figure out. It might be true if the theory of quantum retrocausality pans out. There already is a physics experiment which supports it.

https://phys.org/news/2017-07-physicists-retrocausal-quantum-theory-future.html#:~:text=Instead%2C%20retrocausality%20means%20that%2C%20when,the%20experimenter%20made%20their%20choice.

So yes, it would appear that the past effects the future and the future effects the past. We are in between that dynamic action.

retrocausality may be one of the missing pieces that makes quantum theory complete. Exciting.

Scary to think that our memories could be dynamically changing to "accomodate" the current present, so even though we think the past is really the past it isn't. Our memories just change of what the past is because the future changed.

But as talented as a physicist I consider myself to be, his 15 minute idea is still an unfeasible project that needs no advertising due to how bad it is.
2730  Local / Presse / Re: 25.05.2022 Girokarten-Terminals bundesweit gestört on: May 26, 2022, 06:10:52 PM

https://www.bafin.de/SharedDocs/Veroeffentlichungen/DE/Fachartikel/2022/Kurzkommentare_BaFinTech2022/fa_bj_2203_Kurzkommentar_Rodolphe.html

The future is now, old man. Tongue

2733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: May 26, 2022, 03:40:03 AM
Hello all,

I have been following Bitcoin prices for some time, and now I'm doubtful if it is a good time to start accepting it as it has changed so much in the past months. Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it? And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

Thanks in advance!

Why would you need third party services for Bitcoin? Do you need legal reassurance that a third party won't lose your Bitcoin? Do you trust yourself less than some strangers saying give us your money and everything will be ok? I could understand the fear if it wasn't missplaced fear.

It appears you have not understood the very point of Bitcoin and crypto in general. Be your own bank. Nobody else should control you, your money, your proof of transactions or your wallet.
Or in the case of other cryptos, privacy.

Time to start living a free man. Man. Cool

But thats on you. Roll Eyes

2734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Old Casino Keep Up Without Support Here In Bitcointalk Or Signature Campaign on: May 26, 2022, 03:24:28 AM
You guys forget one thing: We are talking in most cases ( I would even go as far as to say 99% of cases ), we are exactly the right crowd to advertise crypto gambling. And we are one of the biggest crowds along with Reddit for crypto. So obviously advertising on Bitcointalk with Signature campaigns and some of the other stuff already mentioned before, is a huge way to get leads ( New gamblers for the casino ).

A single gambler uses makes back a lot more than they spend on advertising here. Plus many countries have restrictions to advertise gambling so good luck with marketing.
2735  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casino Game on: May 25, 2022, 08:38:34 PM
I was thinking that "Casino" is gambling game played by players in this forum. Because I am seen the name everyday, so today I decided to find out how the game is all about.
When I googled the name, then I discovered that it is an establishment for different types of games. Such as: Dice, crabs, black jack keno etc. That is, it is a facility or a platform for gambling. Simply means. It is a building for games. https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-casino

And also. Most terms use in the gambling platform confused me so to contribute and comment is not easy. But I know for sure that it is for the mean time, I will get all for the free flow communication. But if there is any board that I can learn those terms. Please forward the links for easy and faster learning of the terms.

You know, now that you say it, a casino game for Bitcointalk exclusively could perhaps be an interesting idea that I would love to see. I imagine it might even strengthen social bonds between the Bitcointalk community and/or at least the BTCT gambling community. Although I have no idea on how we would implement something like that since I am not some amazing coder like most people on this forum Cheesy

Keep checking around the gambling subforums and you will definitely learn a thing or two in a few days! We always post the most important info for subforums at the top of the subforum topics.

Yet another school shooting in USA. WTF America. Get your shit together.

If you changed your gun laws this shit would stop.

Or better yet you can change "right to bear arms" to "right to arm bears" and that would make the world a much more interesting place

You really look at the tied up and executed bodies in Bucha, and think to yourself: They would never do that to me. I'm on their side, Right?
Well maybe they would accept you on their side. except they would also give you a gun and tell you to march forward or get shot if you disobey or run.

So the choices between execution and forced conscription are somewhat alluring to you? You realise that Bucha was meant as warning of whats to come to the west, right?

What we need to do on the internet is weed out potential traitors while we have the chance. so people like that won't get the chance to paint infrared-reflective X's on people's houses as targets for Russian Air Force. Maybe we should start making a list starting on Bitcointalk. Surely they have some IP addresses of some interesting people.

Ukraine killed the traitors before the enemies. Thats what war is.
Are you still chewing that Butch gum? It seems to have been rotten since it turned out that some of the civilians died from cluster munitions from the shelling of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, while others were executed by Bosman's Nazis during the cleansing of "collaborators".

You got real evidence to back up that claim?
2738  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: May 24, 2022, 05:58:04 PM
About the attitude of the Russians to the prisoners. The Russian military evacuate a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, wounded in battle, who was abandoned by his commanders and colleagues, carried 2 km through a minefield.

What do these orcs even allow themselves? Feel sorry for the bullet? Grin

For anyone still supporting Putler and excusing his actions despite hard evidence of propaganda being created, inflated and adjusted to fit his narratives, I really recommend watching the following videos on how the soviets used the media to fit their narrative:

>Yuri Bezmenov, Ex-KGB (defected out of disgust for the soviet regime): How soviets subvert countries with carefully planned propaganda

>For those with Attention Deficit Disorders, a 13 minute abridged interview with the most important info: KGB Defector Yuri Bezmenov 1985 Interview. Explains KGB
Manipulation of US Public Opinion

>A more detailled explaination on how it works

Hopefully you can see the parallels of Putin's KGB mindset and wake up from your fantasy world.

Especially note how they used the media and reporters to warp the perceived reality of the Soviet Union and it's crimes against humanity. For example, they would bribe reporters to get them to write a good story about the "kindergarten centers" which were in reality gulag prisons where children of political prisoners were being kept locked up.

But those reporters (or as the soviets called them: "useful idiots" and "political prostitutes") did not seem to question all the metal bars on the windows of said "kindergartens" when they were being shown around. They did not want to miss out on their fat paychecks and all those freebies the russians gave them in exchange for a pro-soviet news article, so they kept their mouths shut and did not dare ask uncomfortable questions.

Do you people understand that YOU are the useful idiots of 2022? Except you are not even being paid.
