2741  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Biggest Wins with lowest risks in Casino History on: September 26, 2022, 02:41:36 AM
the trend is always in the direction of slots, very few to poker, are you missing something? And don't new players like to experience the thrill of betting a lot and having more chances to win through knowledge?
You answered your own question. Those games (poker, ~blackjack..) require some experience and skills which most gamblers don't have. Besides, not everyone knows how to play them.
Slots, on the other hand, are funny and simple. All you have to do is to click the spin button and wait for the outcome.
This is why many gamblers, especially new ones, prefer luck-based games like slots over skill-based games.

Well, there are also many people who play poker as if they were playing slots, without having studied at all. They just know the basic rules of the gambling and little else. They are known as recreational players or fish, from which regular and professional players profit.

In the case of poker it is very difficult for them to have a big win with little risk.  For them they would have to win a multi-table tournament and besides being very lucky they would have to spend many hours playing.
2742  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The EU is on the verge of creating a new AML regulator that will oversee crypto on: September 26, 2022, 02:16:16 AM

That's right.Companies like Amazon can never emerge in the EU because of the regulatory tangle.

Amazon is big in Europe. They have about 70,000 full-time employees, so they have no problem and I'm sure they're rather happy since they don't pay taxes.
I would say, they emerged enough here and if they want more, pay the taxes and stop the optimization.

I mean that companies like Amazon could never have been created and developed in the EU, in the same way that a company like Google could not have done it. When it has been developed and seen how it works, the EU lets it operate, but regulatory and union pressure would never have allowed such companies to prosper by being created from scratch in the old continent.

These companies have been able to thrive from nothing because they were born in an environment of few regulations, which is not the case in the EU.
2743  Economy / Speculation / Re: What can we expect from this statement of Michal Slayer.. on: September 25, 2022, 06:56:00 AM
We can expect nothing to be honest. He is a very smart guy, but like all very smart guys he also makes mistakes. Now he has become bearish, consistent with the current situation. Let's see what he said not long ago:

Michael Saylor goes nuts: he predicts a $15 million Bitcoin price.

His predictions have the same credibility as any others we may see in this section.

2744  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The EU is on the verge of creating a new AML regulator that will oversee crypto on: September 25, 2022, 06:46:24 AM
We are all against money laundering in Crypto...

Not really. If you talk to me about money laundering from people who kidnap or extort, I am against that and I think we all will be. But if we are talking about someone who has done work on the internet, for example designing web pages, and has not declared the profits because he lives in a country of high taxes and high political spending (which he is against), raising a good capital that he then launders, I am not against it.

The main problem here is for companies that won't be able to grow. If Europe has the chance to be a leader in the crypto industry, the regulation will stop almost everything. It was the same case decades ago with Internet VS Minitel.

With this, some companies will either make fewer revenues, close their doors, or stop their R&D and several stuff.

That's right.Companies like Amazon can never emerge in the EU because of the regulatory tangle.

We, Europeans, aren't really worried about privacy...

It's funny because I was thinking that, regarding the privacy debate, which is very much in vogue. It probably has to do with history and culture.

The American settlers had a lot of privacy when they lived alone with their family, bible and rifle, and no one else for miles around. What they didn't have was a social life. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
2745  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: September 25, 2022, 04:54:48 AM
Because of the technology, the way we gamble also changed. Now, it's not necessary to go to physical casinos in order to play because online gambling made it possible to still have fun wherever you are as long as you have a gadget and internet. Just like what @serjent05 mentioned, some online casinos are coming up with new feature to change what we used to and it's up to the players if they want to try this new way to gamble.

With casinos and gambling, it has happened as in other spheres of our lives: they have become digitalized. Although it is still possible to bet live, online gambling has taken market share from live gambling and is growing steadily, as people can bet 24/7 from their cell phones.

Anyhow, it's still different to gamble in physical casinos compared to playing online. If you want to socialize then nothing beats playing if you personally go to a physical casino because atmosphere and experience are quite different.

Well, although it is not the same, online casinos also have a social aspect through chat.
2746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 25, 2022, 04:48:34 AM
Normally, when faced with questions like that, the first thing I do is look it up on the internet. According to what I see, it is more likely to happen in Live Dealer casinos, but not in the rest, because of what was explained before:

They have multiple decks and shuffle when half of the deck is already reduced to avoid count counting.

Counting cards will not get you anywhere as most casinos online are much aware of this trick. Therefore in order to completely eliminate it they use a lot of card decks, different ones,so you can count cards all you want but this won't get you anywhere in online casinos especially.

So, I wouldn't worry too much. If in doubt, read their TOS or even ask them.
2747  Economy / Gambling discussion / Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 03:19:18 AM
A friend of mine works in a casino (land-based) and he told me yesterday that there was a client who with a stroke of luck won a good amount, about $8k. He exchanged the chips for cash and went home. After about half an hour, my friend sees him walk back in the door and went on a gambling binge all the night, only to end up losing his winnings and more.

At the end of the session he signed the self-exclusion.

If it weren't for the fact that this person is going through a drama, the story would make you want to laugh.

Has this ever happened to you or do you know of cases like this?
2748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin a top player in Libertarian Government on: September 24, 2022, 03:13:04 AM
I don't know why you waste your time explaining this on socialistalk.org.

Few are those in the forum who express a libertarian vision, it is a thing that caught my attention some time ago and I opened a related thread

Socialists in Bitcoin(talk).

In a nutshell, we need to vote a libertarian Government candidate into power to achieve this goal completely - Adam back. With this idea, it'll be easier to convince people to hop into the crypto network, where they can trade freely without paying taxes. Share your thoughts.

Not a chance. The rich are bad, we need more state, more regulations, teach children from a young age that there are 72 genders they can choose from and change them as they feel like it, etc.
2749  Economy / Gambling / Re: Poker tournaments why tournaments in other games on: September 24, 2022, 02:45:57 AM
You are thinking of a professional poker player, but not all poker players are professional, so the one that wins on the long run is a guy like Phil Helmut or Daniel Negreanu or Phil Ivey.

No, I'm not just thinking of professionals, and it's something I've explained repeatedly. Twice in this thread. I am not a professional player, I am a regular player, known also as "reg" and I have earned money playing poker for years, which complements the money I earn with my main job and other sources of income, like the signature campaigns here.

So you don't have to be a pro to make money in poker.

So, if I start gambling poker, I would be terrible at it, and would lose in the long run, but those famous poker players would win, there is a big big difference.

LOL.

Yes, you better not play poker.
2750  Other / Meta / Re: Attaining legendary rank - is that the end? on: September 24, 2022, 02:38:36 AM
I haven't reached Legendary yet, but almost, because I am Hero and I have enough merits to reach the next level. What can happen is that the lower ranked members, if they write in a decent way, the fellow forum members help them to rank up by giving them a bunch of merits all at once. That happened to me several times, even when I was a few short of 1,000, which is the merit requirement for Legendary. From then on, nobody will "help" you, and it's logical, now you have to help those who still have ranks to climb.

But other than that, it is clear that as has been amply shown in this thread, the Legendarys receive the most merit.
2751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) goes up, Bitcoin stays flat or even lose value on: September 23, 2022, 04:23:30 AM
Ripple has success in court and that is why the currency is flying high.
Take into consideration the 3rd and 4th largest Cryptos as of today are USDT and USDC and Ripple can soon go to the moon.

Would you consider investing now in Ripple instead of Bitcoin?!

 Huh

No.

If we were in other forums, after the word I have written above, but as in this forum there is a great concern for quality and a single word can be considered low value I will tell you that not in your dreams I will exchange Bitcoin for the shitcoin of the banks:

"Ripple collaborates with financial institutions worldwide; more than 100 financial institutions have joined RippleNet, including: Santander (USA) Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (Canada) Kotak Mahindra Bank (India)"

AWS Partner Profile: Ripple
2752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 23, 2022, 03:57:28 AM
Is there anyone buying right now because they think we probably will not go much lower and don't want to miss out at these low prices?

I am not talking about people who are averaging down or doing their weekly small bitcoin purchases, I am talking about people who are actually converting their cash into serious bitcoin holdings, or increasing their bitcoin holdings by a large amount.

In my case, not yet, but I am thinking about it. I do DCA and I think that times like this are good to buy because we should be close to the bottom. The $20k has proven to be a strong support, because when we have gone below that mark we have not been slow to go back up.

Although I would not rule out that as the situation stands, with the Fed's policies that have severely affected the stock market (although bitcoin remains around $20k) and that will cause unemployment and deepen the recession; the price of bitcoin will fall below $17k.

If that happens, I'm going to do some extra buying.
2753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose an online casino? on: September 23, 2022, 03:49:20 AM
the current problem is that when someone goes to google to do research they will find many casino review sites but they are sites of people who because they were paid will write good things about the casino even if the casino is a scam, that's why many people are still using scam casinos. and only after being tricked and robbed and people discovering this forum

Going to review sites is not and has never been considered doing research. Its a lazy way to buy into a scam. Someone, in this case, a third party review is going to tell me which casinos are best? Sorry Thats not going to work. I would not trust them to tell me the truth but rather try to sell me their endorsed scam.

I don't really know that market very well, but I think you are exaggerating a bit. If a review site gives positive reviews of scam sites, it will soon lose credibility.

The most normal thing is that it is biased towards some sites with which it has agreements but which are legitimate, so it generates traffic to those sites and receives revenue.

In my case I have never used review sites. I prefer to inform myself on the forum and try it myself.
2754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese version of Metaverse will be great for meta casinos. on: September 23, 2022, 03:43:39 AM
The question is, can decentralized (or close to it) services grow in China?

I don't think so. And I wouldn't bet on it unless they gave me a gigantic potential return for the bet.

I don't have much hope for China to be able to play casino freely especially crypto-based, yeah even though they are always at the forefront of technological developments.
VR technology can indeed enhance the desire of casino players to play close to reality in countries where there are no physical casinos. Still I can't understand why he chose a country with so many restrictions to develop a potential company, so far I don't see that HTC's president is a Chinese (maybe I'm wrong).

I also share your concerns but Cher Wang is Taiwanese, so it's debatable whether she's Chinese or not, LOL. I don't know if this will help clarify anything.
2755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to choose an online casino? on: September 22, 2022, 03:57:11 AM
Or if some users feel that those threads are outdated (I didn't search for them), anyone can refer to the project that is being managed by @efialtis;

https://www.btcgosu.com/

It's a review site that is not being influenced or paid for by a gambling site.

Almost all information here is spoonfeeding already and no question should be asked, at most.

Really? He doesn't generate any revenue with the site?

We have a big project in the forum that intends to generate a lot of money with that kind of business and it seems that the niche market moves many millions.

I don't see why take the time to make the site and keep it updated and spend money to not generate revenue?

Why does he do it?
2756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How mentally prepared are you? on: September 22, 2022, 03:42:33 AM
In my case, I was already quite prepared before learning about Bitcoin, as I had already been investing for a few years, and before that playing poker. If someone does not know, a chart of a winning poker player is quite similar to a chart of the stock market or the price of bitcoin, depending on the variety. The bitcoin one would be more like someone who is a winner in Sit and Go or Tournaments, while the S&P 500 one might look more like a winning cash player.

In any case, the important thing about the similarities is that they teach you that making money is not variance-free: to win you have to go through volatility and it's not a straight line upwards. There are ups and downs.
2757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 22, 2022, 03:24:59 AM
Pretty big.

I think there is a trend whereby more and more gambling ads are going to be banned around the world. In this particular case, the consequence may be that banned streamers may look for other means to continue working, but being online gambling addiction one of the fastest growing addictions and serious problems nowadays, I believe that regulations will tend to prohibit advertising it.

What happened...

I tell you what happened: nothing.

You have created a thread based on speculation about what might happen in revenge for the tag. You have no proof and you have nothing. And to top it off, you base it on the fact that he is from a poor country.

You just earned another negative feedback from me. Now you can open a thread about me and what "might" happen, instead of providing proof.
